Norwegian Forestry Museum - Museum in Hamar, Norway
This is a great museum. Well worth to set aside a few hours for. Something for both adults and kids.
The Skog museum was really informative! Museum about forest, hunting on animals, animals living in the forest and more! There are interactive parts for children.
Lots to see, a lot in English as well which helped a lot. Lovely grounds to walk around also.
Great museum with plenty of information and attractions. The only issue was that there was far too much to take in for a couple of travelers at the end of their 3 week roadtrip 😅
Stort og fint museum. Noen av de "interaktive" installasjonene virker ikke eller er ute av stand, derfor 4 stjerner. Meget bra mat på Forstmann.
Words cant discribe how much I love this place! I had a wonderful time.
Predivne zbirke u kojima će uživati sve generacije...posebno obratite pažnju na kreativno modeliran proces fotosinteze😀
Great! Easy to spend 3 hours there. Nice outdoor Skanzen exibition. Thx
Complete collection of native Norwegian animals
Lots of information about the forestry history of Norway, hunting, various types of fish from different types of lake and streems, and different types of house
The place is is amazing as it is. Really diving to paradise. Although currently the place is still covered with snow but it will be summer soon, so we will definitely be back for that grilling experience 😁😁😁
Interesting place, good for activities , education and history.
As a resident of Elverum, its best worth it when you have an yearly card.
Loved it
A very good museum with so much more, head outside and go fishing with the children in a small private lake, all the equipment is provided.with several climbing areas and large and old log to crawl through or just enjoy a walk in the private wooded island and see the old cabins. Learn all about the old woodland management, with information in both English and Norwegian. Helpful staff. A clean and friendly experience. Military discount offered as well. More businesses could learn from repaying the loyalty of the armed forces!! Well worth a visit. Expect to spent between 3-5 hours to see everything. It has a restaurant for light lunch time snack, although this is expensive, the service is good and the food and cakes were nice.
Wonderful plac to visit for a whole day. Lots of interesting exhibitions both in and outside. Not to mention the fun weve had on a bridge :)
Amazing experience and very interesting fact 👌💯
Awesome!!
Lovely little garden, with a spot to eat by the river
The museum gives you a true idea of Norwegian nature and the living/working relationship with it. Very interesting! For both adults and children.
Good old buildings
Beautiful museum, very modern and gives you to all different themes the appropriate atmosphere.
Greit place to visit with the family, at least you can find out more about nature and people in past lives
Very good place
Fantastic place to visit, such a lovely area to walk around
Great educational fun for families
A very nice museum covering the different aspects of forestry including hunting, fishing, etc. and the development / evolution in this sector over the years. The museum is ideally located next the river Glomma and beautiful surrounding. Week kept museum with very interesting indoor and outdoor exhibitions A fun and informative place about nature and culture for kids and adults. A very good restaurant on the premises. Worth the visit if you are around.
Very nice forestry museum with a nice outdoor area as well. The "Forstmann" restaurant has some nice food.
Exelent museum to spend a few hours. In this museum you can find exibits about-forestry-wood industry-hunting-fishing-trapping-animals living in norway-plants in norwayWe had a good time in there. In the outside part of the museum is a big playground for children.
Good
Very large museum with really interesting exhibitions. Could spend the whole day here. Great restaurant too.
Great combinations of nature and culture. Interesting place for both kids and adults. Informed in both Norwegian and English.
Great scenery!
Wonderful museum with several interesting exhibitions and a very nice gift shop
The museum seemed a bit dated to me, and some of the, to me, more interesting parts (like the tree of lifewere only in Norwegian. The part about technology in woodcutting was very good.
Exposition of forrest industry. Animals and brave men working in demanding forrest area in Norway
It is a very nice place to walk.
Very nice museum with two floors full of real size animals, machinery and staff to learn
Excellent forest for kamping & fishing & grilling. Open everyday from 9 am - 16pm. There is a hotel inside the forest and Restaurant and museum.
The collection of stuffed animals is impressive. The museum gives a huge amount of knowledge about everything that connects to forest: from nature to culture. Definitely a must see when you are around. Id say 3 hours sightseeing should be enough. If there only were some nice souvenirs in the museum shop: I couldnt find anything special for gifts :/
Very lovely place!
All the information is in Norwiegen- nothing in English!
Nice museum in a beautiful surrounding. A lot of information about the life of the Norwegian people, forestry and fishing, in ancient as well as modern times. The prepared animals are impressive, really a beautiful collection exhibited in a beautiful way. The museum is situated near the river, and you can take a nice walk outside. Maybe the museum could add some activitys fore children, like finding treasures: what are the treasures of ancient times, and where can you find them and a reward for finding the treasures. Educative and fun to do.
nice exhibition
A must see!
Its a ok museum with Norwegian history. But I love the areas around the museum more than the musum. Thats worth a visit, especially in the summer.
Beautiful surroundings, and very interesting inside. This museum is perfect for exploring and researching history and wildlife. The area surrounding the museum is perfect for taking walks and relaxing/recreation.
Very surprising museum, we didnt expect much and found a very big and very informative museum about Norways nature and history.
