Traveled all the way from Chicago, was excited to come, but couldnt visit today bc it was a member only preview day!! Extremely disappointed to be turned away, and I did not want to pay 85 to become a member. The museum should be more accessible to tourists who have limited time.

The DreamWorks animation exhibit was informative and enjoyable, especially if you remember the final movies. The interactive animation creating computers were a bonus, and humbling when you had just seen the exhibits.

This was cool no the biggest museum. When I went they had the DreamWorks exhibit and a art gallery(wasnt much unless I missed someand the Campbell house which was interesting to see how some familys lived back then. The DreamWorks exhibit was amazing considering I grew up on those movies was just great to se some behind the scenes if it and the tables with the projectors above it were so cool.

4 stars. 5 stars for friendliness and patience. -1 for telling me the pixar exhibit was very interactive when all there was for my kids to do was change colors of some scenes or do some ms paint thing... it was cool to see the original concept art and stuff.

Overall great place to visit. Staff is friendly and very informative. The whole family can enjoy. They also have good deals on membership pricing. The only thing I would change is if they could change out the themed items more often. I get thats a lot of work to probably do, but it would be nice to visit and see and learn new things there more often. For now it seems to be different items a couple times a year or so. Otherwise its a great place!

My son and I decided to check out the DreamWorks Animation exhibit and we loved it because we are into clay sculpting and sketching. The Exhibition is called Journey from Sketch to Screen & features over 350 items including rare and never-seen-before concept drawings, original artifacts, interactives, film clips ... We enjoyed the exhibit and the museum is beautiful inside and the exterior grounds are beautifully landscaped.

Fantastic museum, small but densely packed and worth the endurance fee. When we visited there was a Dreamworks exhibit taking up a fair chunk of the museum, but the standing exhibits were also good.Looking at about 90 minutes - 2 hours for a visit. Parking is ample and free!

Both the local and touring exhibits were great. Learned a lot about the local people and the destruction of their way of life with the building of dams and the linked failure of salmon hatcheries

I love coming here! The exhibits are always well put together for easy self-guided exploration. I especially love the exhibits with Spokane area and Native American history. The traveling exhibits are also always excellent; today it was all about Dreamworks Animation. A few years ago it was The Titanic. And as a bonus, the historic Campbell House next door is included in the admission

We had some time to fill while visiting Spokane(Go Zags!). This is an interesting museum with a fully restored turn of the century home (Campbell Houseon the premises that is included with the cost of admission. There are some other exhibits and a full theater, but we didnt find them especially illuminating (especially the DreamWorks exhibit - I bet small kids love it though). We received a dollar off for being AAA members, but at $19 the value is a tad off.

This was a fun and relevant little museum. The volunteers were very positive and knowledgeable. Unfortunately there was a good portion good portion of the museum that was under construction. To be fair to the museum my daughter and I came at a very off season moment. We learned about the flower trade throughout the area. We also learned about the impact of the Columbia river dam on the native populations food source upstream. My daughter is 13 years old and she was on her phone for about half the time. I consider this a major win!

We have a Dual Senior membership to the MAC. It is an honor to pay it. In addition to great traveling national exhibits, the MAC has many thought provoking long-term and some shorter exhibits. Today we saw spectacular Tiffany Glass along with Northwest Native canoes and the story of disappearing salmon. We will return soon for the Flour Sack exhibit. What a delightful experience.

I try to come several times a year, depending on the featured exhibit. If you get a chance to see the Campbell House with a guided tour, I recommend it. Then go back at your leisure to take it all in at your own pace. First full weekend of of each month is free for certain bank card holders; good for a discount, bad that it gets crowded.

Wonderful museum! We went during the Louis Comfort Tiffany exhibit. It was breathtaking. Theres also a fantastic Indigenous dugout canoe exhibit which details the relationship between salmon and local tribes. Very interesting and the indigenous representation and land acknowledgement made me happy. The historic Campbell house was absolutely beautiful. The tour through the house is self-guided but there are several docents around to answer questions. I highly recommend checking it out.

Upon entering the museum, we were met with friendly staff. After paying for admission, theres a small gift shop on the right thats best visited before you leave (go ahead and skip for now and head downstairs). The rest of the museum is on lower levels of the building.Note: This museum was very quiet and hardly any visitors were present. Great place if you want to take your time and really enjoy the pieces. DO NOT expect this museum to be colossal. In my opinion, its on of the smaller ones in the state. *We went through everything pretty quick and was hoping for more. This museum is interactive to an extent. There are rooms were you can get creative (hat making, crafts, etc.Definitely a cool place for your inner child if your inner child likes crafting among taxidermy. :)The best parts for me where the stained glass exhibits. Purely magical! The strangest part was the indigenous display showing beer cans crafted into ceremonial items. Would be nice to see those items as seen before beer cans made it on the scene. (See photos)Walking down the stairs to the end of the museum, youll see what looked like papermache hanging animals on the small stairwell. At the bottom theres stacked museum furniture and... youre done...Take the elevator back up, and now would be a good time to check out the gift shop.Overall 5☆/5☆ experience.I came into it expecting to be way bigger, but to no fault of the museums. A clean place overall too.

I’d been here about 7 years before. The quality of experience was just as good today. I came to see the Audubon exhibit this time. The staff was very friendly and workable with admission. The galleries are well laid out and curated. They did a nice nod to a local artist Justin Gibbens in an adjacent gallery to Audubon. The local artist’s exhibition complemented Audubon with a fresh perspective. I thought that Gibbens did a great job of taking a similar Audubon style while presenting subtle commentary and uniqueness to his pieces. My favorites were the Swamp piece with the roseate spoonbill and the what seems to be island scrub jay.A very good museum that keeps the connection local.

For being a smaller museum, The MAC gets some really interesting and unique exhibits. Ive gone to a few different exhibits, the last being monsters from mythology, and Ive been blown away at the information and the displays. As you spiral down to the main exhibit you find several smaller exhibits that are just as unique as the main exhibit or some that are even more interesting. Plus when youre done you can take a tour of the Campbell House that is on the same campus. The photos are different textiles made in the Spokane area plus a life size sabertooth tiger that was made entirely of paper.

Very nice museum and a highlight of our visit was extensive 1 hour guided tour of neighboring Campbell House! Our tour guide Devrick was -very- knowledgeable and gave us amazing info and insight into the family, servants and history of the house and Spokane during the early 1900s - he brought it all to life! Thank you Devrick! This was definitely worth the admission fee and more ( AAA and student discounts apply, so it came out to $8 pp). Staff was very helpful too when we missed the guided tour last week - they gave us a raincheck (use w/in 90 days). Check for hours - Campbell House guided tours are currently Tu-F, Sunday 12,1,2,3pm, and open house format on Saturdays. Get tickets early as it is first come first served!

I could have saved my money and looked online as there was very few items that belonged in a museum. Lacking actual artefacts. The mystical creature exhibit was a joke. The Campbell house was closed, but was supposed to be included. I could have better spent my money elsewhere.

Great local gem. They had a nice variety in the few galleries. We went for the Chihully exhibit today. They also had some local Native textiles in one gallery. Another space had large landscapes from the arctic regions of Canada and Alaska. They even had a glass blowing exhibition out in front of the museum. Of course there is a nice little gift shop. They also have the historic Campbell house next door.

Went to see the Chihuly exhibit. Was a bit smaller than I was expecting but only because Ive been to the Seattle exhibit a d never to the Spokane museum. The price for entry was cheap IMO $10. There were also other exhibits there and some awesome paintings. The parking was minimal. Probably because it was the opening day for the exhibit.

We came for the Ice Age Titans exhibit. Terrific staff and the exhibit was nicely done. Set in a historical neighborhood, there ends up being quite a bit to see when wandering around. Too bad cafe was shut down because there was a large lag time between when the museum opened and the Campbell (historicalHouse opened. Nice, informative staff. There were pamphlets all over of the educational classes that the museum hosts. Very cool aspect.UPDATE 9.11.17. Visited for the Z Nation exhibit. It might be a niche exhibit, but for those not in the know, Z Nation is a zombie show airing on SYFY and filmed in the Spokane location. One of the galleries was turned into a sound studio which, according to staff, contains a barber shop, laboratory and morgue (I think the last one is correctwhich the tv show is actually FILMED in the museum before a LIVE audience (well, if people happen to show up).The exhibit has tons of info about cast, crew (on the info, theres advice to young people on how to get into the field, which is VERY cool), the show, zombies in general. Its a quick tour but hey, how many tv shows get time in a museum. $10 for most people, not a bad deal. Got a few pics if you wanna see. :D(I admit, Ive only watched a couple episodes of the 1st season. Different premise than Walking Dead. The sound studio is not accessible since they are still using it. Its said that once filming is done, the public can tour it. Exhibit ends pretty soon...)
