Northampton Beach Campground in Windham

Love the campground, had a great 10 days there , however over the Columbus Holiday weekend people had no respect for others around them and the rules. Campers ran their generators all day and night. We were upset that this was not addressed by the ranger at all. I don’t go camping to listen to generators! Campground could do a better enforcing their rules.

Quiet, beautiful and great wooded sites. Well worth the drive. At $22 a night its a perfect vacation spot. Beach sites are awesome...#64 especially. Oh and hot showers too!

Loved the paved roads throughout the campground. Made riding bikes with the kids more enjoyable. A gentleman came around in the morning with ice and again in the evening with ice cream and ice again.

Great state campground. The place was clean and the employees were very friendly. The sites by the water look great, although the water level was low when I was there so some of the sites were a bust.

Without a doubt one if not the best campgrounds Ive been to in decades. The sites are huge and well maintained. The biggest day use section ive seen and the beach is just as nice. This will be a place we camp at often

Absolutely love coming to this campground. Its far enough from home to be a getaway. Great place to unwind, relax, and recharge. Spent most of the time on the sand bar swimming. Made some killer meals on the grill. Spent the night sitting by the fire talking with family. I would recommend this place to anyone wanting to go camping. Plus its on the shores of the Great Sacandaga.

Great beach. Quiet place. Beautiful view. No dogs allowed except in individual campsites- not on beach, smart move!

Good place to hang out for a day or camping for several days

A very nice to hang out with family make a little fire or have a cookout and of course swim.

Very disappointing. Bathroom had no toilet paper or paper towels. Will never go again!!!!

Ever since I was a little girl our family has camped here. Now as a mother....I take my son. He loves it and so do I. We camp here a lot during the summer and we also do fall camping as well. In the fall its colder but it is so beautiful with the colors of the autumn trees reflecting off the lake. Again....we love it!

Great place, not busy, pure nature, we, 3 families, enjoyed so much on a day picnic here today. It was pointless 🙏

Absolutely beautiful campground. Clean spacious and semi private campsites.

Was on site 50 for Memorial Day weekend, very disappointed in the bathroom and showers. Soap didnt work properly, no towels to dry your hands. The hand dryer wasnt working in the ladies room. The showers never looked like they were cleaned. Caulking should be replaced each year, its all moldy and the showers should be cleaned twice a day with bleach. Get a better exhaust system so the doors dont need to be left open. The showers were mosquito infested and the water wasnt hot at all.

Loved it one of the best woody open private feeling state parks o have been to in a long time. Must of the sites look huge and have tons of room for you. All and all we really enjoyed this park Ave we will for sure find away back to it.

This is our second time staying there its absolutely beautiful the only thing I wish the state parks get into the 21st century and at least have power and water

If you don’t mind not having hookups, then this is the place. Spacious & private lakeside site, dropped kayaks in easily. 2.5-3 pound bass all day on plastic minnows. Cute general stores a few miles away. Ask for Josh-he couldn’t have been nicer-very customer service orientated.

Went with a family group of approx 60 people that have been for going for over 20 years beautiful days not allowed in the water not even allowed on the beach to enjoy the sunshine. They should contact people let them know no swimming no beach offer them there money back cause the beach is the main reason for going.

Clean, well kept, Serene, Easy access to Campgrounds, beach, store.

For the price they charge why cant they fix the fireplaces. Cant cook over the fire because half the grates are gone. And next why take the park out what is there for the young kidd besides sitting being bored. Staff was ok and sites arent bad but come on give the kids something to do, ya they can ride bikes and swim but what else nothing for them.

Pretty popular.Only thing is.With the money being brought in.The bathrooms and showers could be in a lot Lot better condition....

Little confusing on the check in - initial email confirm for noon, then 2pm when we showed up... Waited as they updated Reserve America. Beautiful area, everyone doing their best. Water time = the best time.

Nice park, great views if you get there early. They allow to swim at the beach only, but there is a lot of shore line with nice sand/small pebbles under feet. The problem was in a LOT of boats and jets on the lake. Very, very noisy. Some of the boats came up to the shore right where we were sitting and the whole family just took over everything around, turned on the loud music, parking their jets 10 inches from peoples belongings, very rude. I planned to use my kayak, but the boats were making big waves and I did not feel safe in water. Did not really want anyone to ride over me. By 1 pm there were dozens and dozens of boats of all sizes and jets riding around the lake at crazy unfafe speed and nobody was controlling or restricting it.Also, only one restroom was open, even though they have several around. No picnic tables, only chains around the trees where the tables used to be.

Clean, quiet and just what I was looking for! Beautiful beaches and sunshine! The bathrooms are clean and so are the showers. They have separate places for showers and bathrooms. But there is a bathroom next to the shower! Want to get a boat site next year! You can keep your boat there if you have one for no extra charge! Great place to vacation!

The bathrooms werent open by where we sat and the picnic tables arent out for the season in the day beach part. But it was fun and peaceful.

The site was well maintained spacious and the park staff were friendly and helpful. I would return the lake is lovely the campsite is beautiful.

We didnt have a campsite, just stopped there to swim. Its a pretty nice beach, clean and well taken care of. I would definitely recommend if your in the area.PS- Im posting this in June of 2020, so if you are going to north Hampton beach today I just wanted to give the heads up that the beach is "technically closed" right now because the 2020 Pandemic/ Coronavirus and NYS not allowing beaches to open yet (until phase 3 I believe). North Hampton is allowing people to swim and use the beach (or just looking the other way), but they are not allowing people to park in there lot until they open back up. The pro to this is you wont have to pay to swim or use the beach or for parking (most likely you will find free parking). The con is you have to find parking on the street ( our parking spot was freeand it will be a short to long walk from where you can park on the street to the beach, but its well worth it to be able to swim on these hot summer days. If you really dont want to or cant walk too far I did see some near by businesses allowing people to park in there lots for a $10 fee, but it wasnt that much closer to be worth the fee for us. Once they completely open back up (in phase 3), youll be able to park in there lot and you wont need to walk very far at all. Over all its a great place to spend the day.

I had a wonderful time. The bathrooms/showers are clean, privare and easy to access from anywhere. My only issue was that site 198 flooded on me and i had to leave early. But i will definitely go back.

Mixed feelings here. I used to come here growing up and remember it being beautiful! The campsites are large and nice but I am extremely disappointed with grounds keeping, campsite tidying up, and showers and restrooms were absolutely nasty! I felt the need to sanitize my whole body after walking out. I am completely disgusted with whoever is in charge right now!

Beautiful and serene. True camping experience. Some bathrooms could use an upgrade. Staff is very friendly.

Weve camped at a good many NYS campgrounds. This is our favorite. The roads are wider than most and sites are generous with lots of them on the water. The staff are friendly and seem happy to see us. Sacandaga Lake is well suited to big boats but has smaller areas perfect for kayaking. Fishing is good. Camp wood, supplies, mini-golf, and ice cream are just outside the entrance. Were camping somewhere else this weekend but wish we were at Northampton Beach. Fortunately we will be in a couple of weeks.

Have always enjoyed our time camping here. Sites are roomy and most are not right on top of others. We like the extra space. Love the first loop in the spring, as the water is high and there is great access for kayaking and boating. In the fall the lake is too low to access the water there, and that fools a lot of people who look at maps and dont know the many lake levels of the Sacandaga. Facility is always well kept and have never had any issues.

Love this campground! I have been camping there since I was an infant and now I camp there with my children. It has the best campers beach as long as the water isnt to high.

So many sites right on the water! Perfect for those who have dogs that love to swim but theyre not allowed on the beach at most places. Sites are wooded, large and far enough apart so you feel like youve got privacy. Beach is absolutely beautiful. Showers are private rooms and bathrooms are as well.

Recently spent 5 days camping here making memories with my family. We had a fantastic time at a waterside campsite. The campsites were clean and well maintained with the exception of some fire pits missing the bars to hold the grill on. The bathroom facilities were maintained and cleaned in the mornings. Bring toilet paper in case the stalls run out. Showers were good and I think there was only one that was down for maintenance. Shower use is high in the evenings so there can be a wait. No power or hookups on the sites. Most sites have plenty of trees and shade. Well definitely be coming back next year.

This place is a great place to go, either for a day or 14 days. Its clean "carry in carry out" The day area has picnic tables and charcoal grills along the Waterfront of lake with a beautiful view anywhere you are.The campsites are well spaced apart with about 40 of them right on the lake and you can pull your boat up, lots of shady areas no hook ups but you can run a generator at certain times of the day if you need to charge batteries or cook. All Sites have a fire pit and what is readily available in the area. Fishing hiking boating all in the site the place was fantastic.

Fantastic nys DEC campground. Two problems I have found, campground rules dont seem to apply to everyone the same. Buildings such as bathrooms and bath houses seem to have poor maintenance. General maintenance of the campground is lacking and it shows. Really sad as this is a premium location and very large campground.

The showers were nice but being after memorial day one would expect the beach to be open. We werent able to rent a boat, which we were really planning on. When we reserved the site the website stated that all the sites close to the lake were taken. When we got there, all the sites that were supposedly reserved were empty.
