Food was freezing when we got it. Lacked flavor and the fish used was such low quality. If youre looking for good sushi go to Sora Japanese Sky Cuisine

If you ABSOLUTELY LOVE SUSHI or Japanese food in general, East Japanese surely serves to please! Visit "Marketplace" to find the best in Japanese cuisine. It may not look like much (in serving sizebut dont underestimate, its definitely filling and the food tastes AMAZING!If you find that you arent able to finish whats on your plate, you can ask for a box to take it home with you. Dining space inside is not that large so if youre planning a visit with a group of over 12 persons, you would probably have to call-in for a reservation. They also have outside dining spots for those who prefer the outdoors and their bathrooms (although smallis kept cool and clean.

Great ramen dishes. Bigger than expected dishes too, some of the hungrybellies in the party had to take bowls home. Great thing about marketplace is you arent limited to that restaurant, can also get sushi from the main restaurant too. Only bad thing was there was quite a bit of confusion about our orders and some didnt get what they ordered in the end, but were very happy with what they got even so.

Ive been there a couple of times. I love the food there, the ambiance is nice and good music playing in the background. Its a place Ill definitely visit again.

Everything Ive had here has been quite good. I wish they had more seating. I usually end up sitting at the bar. Options limited for people with dietary restrictions. Vegetarians should be fine but gluten free possibilities are lacking. I was able to have the blackened tuna GF. It was very tasty and well-prepared. The service is good. Waiters were friendly and helpful when I went. Meals are a little bit pricey but not too bad. Sushi lovers love it here. I recommend.

The food was very bland and didnt have no taste. Im not sure if it was because it was late at night and the food was old. Anyway, I tried to take my food back and they never even tried to simply help. Sad!! I paid ($1600+ Jmdfor 5 pieces of bland shrimp, soggy tomatoes, and old fried rice. Thank you, also your employees there are not helpful and their attitudes suck :)

Lovely place. Cold. Excellent food though overpriced. Wait times are usually long. Overall, the restaurant has a great feel to it.

The ramen selection is great! They open late and the sides are mouthwatering! A word of caution, if youve never had sesame oil steer clear of ramen that use a sesame oil base. Its a bit of an acquired taste.

You can choose to dine in the courtyard under the sun or moon or inside at the food preparation station where you can watch as they craft your meal or in a lovely private seating area anyone is just as good. The bill can get high as you will be eating to your hearts content.

The food is a bit pricey but is worth it. Beautifully prepared and the flavours at different but very good. A few things on the menu may take you out your comfort zone but it was a good experience regardless.

We had a good time, it was Friday night so they were opened until midnight and there was a legit a party going on outside the music was good and it seemed like fun , but we had sushi which was reeeeally good, we were too full to party😂

Great Japanese food, lots of variety, sushi was probably as good as it gets in a country like Jamaica.Service a little slow, but considering the restaurant was packed, not too bad.Prices are in line with the experience, not cheap but worth it.It has a relaxed environment, with mostly young customers.Will definitely come back.

Great opening hours, good food, reasonable prices. Check the spicy miso shrimp ramen and add pork! Its delicious, fast and very filling. Definitely the place to visit if youre on the road late at night and want some good food.

Sushi was good.. One of the rolls we ordered had tomato in it, that was a first for us. Guess thats the Jamaican style :). Service was good, wifi was available, bathroom was clean . Id go back.

East Japanese is in a great location (same compound with Usain Bolts Track and Recordsso its easy to find.The staff are very helpful and even the sushi chefs took the time out to greet us as we walked through the door.One of the main strong points of this restaurant is not only the variety of the menu but the fact that a lot of the items have pictures next to them. My friends and I always wish we could see how a dish looks before we order it and East Japanese made that a reality. The food was delicious and its definitely a must-visit for all sushi lovers.

The server was not pleasant at all. We walked in and instead of greating us she said you know this is the noodle shop right. I said Yes we would like to try out your menu. Needless to saythe options from the noodle menu were limited thankfully we could order from the regular East Jap. Menu.While we waited she was very abrupt with the question we asked and after she served us there was no check in to see if we enjoyed the food, needed anything else nor to give water refills.East Jap. Rolls tasted good as usual but were not made properlly for such big rolls (big lobster & double shrimp rollas they fell apart so quickly.Dont get me wrong i am by no means complaining about the size of the rolls as it is definately value for money and just last friday i had the Lobster roll while dining at East Jap. Next Door, same size and it was made much better.The soup had a funny smell 🙄 but didnt tatse too bad.Would not dine here again, id much rather stick to the regualar East Jap better service & more food options.

The service was poor. After sitting for more than ten minutes, no one served, and the price rose less. No one will say thank you for leaving the checkout. So advise friends not to go.

Ok environment. Wide menu options. Server was friendly and knowledgeable on the items. Thought the prices were a little high. Meal portion was good and very tasty.

One of the few places in Kingston to get a decent bowl of ramen. They have an extensive menu of Japanese dishes at affordable prices. The ramen is good with both large and small servings. Definitely a must visit for locals and foreigners alike.

Took quite some time to get the meal but it was good. I had the teriyaki chicken. The portions were smaller than expected too.

Lovely environment. If your a Noodle/ ramen fan you will enjoy this restaurant. I believe that you can order sushi as well and they will get it from there neighboring restaurant east Japanese so sushi and noodles

I found the lay out of the restaurant not to my liking but my problem was the several workers carrying supplies through the area customers sat eating. The food took forever and it was evident that we were forgotten until we asked the waiter what happened to our food. We waited easily in excess of 45 minutes after we ordered. Also the food did not taste good. Ive had Japanese food before and the food (to use a Jamaican colloquialismnever ready. I had to force to finish mine and my wife didnt finish hers and the fact that we had no thought of taking her barely touched meal home with us, should indicate something. Very forgettable experience and definitely not worth a second visit. Gave 2 stars only cause the food was hot

My wife and I sat at the sushi bar and had two orders of sushi and two teriyaki chicken bowls. The sushi was very good, and so was the teriyaki chicken. The food is quite expensive, but the quality and flavor of the food was very good. Service was good as well. Our only complaint is the sanitary conditions behind the sushi bar. We saw one of the chefs constantly using is cell phone, and then continuing to prepare food without washing his hands. That was quite disgusting... The same chef was also coughing and sneezing without covering his mouth, nor turning away from the food currently being prepared. Needless to say, by this time, we both felt our stomachs turn, as we had already eaten our food. We will not be returning to this restaurant...

Superb Japanese cuisine. Andre knocked it out of the park once again. He is an assett to this establishment. No request was above him! He even went and got cigarettes for my Canadian friend!

As a guy that likes sushi and also Jamaica, East Japanese Sushi is pretty good.However, its extremely pricey. The low end of sushi starts at 990 JMD and stops at 5000 JMD. Because all of the ingredients are imported, they can charge that much.All of the fish and rolls are very high quality though and the service is top of the line, so I didnt feel bad about my bill.All in and all, if you have a craving for sushi while youre here, its worth a visit. Its right next to Tracks and Records, so use that for navigation if Google Maps doesnt work!

This is an amazing restaurant,and as a sushi lover I make it my point of duty to visit atleast once a month. Great atmosphere, wonderful staff and lots of food selection.

Its always a trip for me when I visit East Japanese, my experiences are always delightful. The staff is knowledgeable and I enjoy quizzing them before I make my selection. The also have a variety of seating options to suits your mood are the kind of company youre with (friends, date or a business engagement).

A great option when craving sushi irie. Beautiful outdoor seating was vey enjoyable in the courtyard of this mall, I was there just before sundown and was comfortable on a hot day. I Went here with a grind from Hawaii and she approved of the Japanese legitimacy.

Food is always good. Some of the chefs dont make the rolls tight enough so the rice just falls out, however the quality of the ingredients are better then most you will find in Jamaica.
