Informal counter-service option for Asian bowls & bites in the Boston Public Market.
The curry ramen was just as delicious and amazing as pre-covid. Did not disappoint at all!! Will be back soon for sure!
This used to be my go to for ramen pre-covid. I went there last week and it wasnt the same. The broth was a bit too salty and the soft boiled eggs were overcooked. I also had veggie gyoza and discovered that the dipping sauce (that is amazing btwwas missing. Unfortunately I dont think Ill be back for a while.
I usually love Noodle Lab but was really disappointed by the Katsu Curry. This photo was taken after I confirmed that there was no sauce added to the curry. It seems like there was just some light broth added? I would not venture to call this katsu curry.
Noodles were absolutely, undoubtedly the best in Boston for a quick-bite. With covid, they did the best they could to stay open, but when theyre noodle supplier ran out of the noodles that truly made them the best, theyve closed and havent opened since (in the BPM location). I am giving four stars because of the lack of communication to customers - there hasnt been any information that I can find on Twitter, or their website. In fact, their website says that they are indeed open (but one 20 minute, one-way walk to the counter proves otherwise). Customers deserve better IMO, and I am hoping that theyll either announce when theyre back, or close permanently to not get our hopes up.
Curry with pulled pork and corn!!!!! A-maze-zing!
The person at the counter was pretty rude. I didnt know it closes at 5:45 on Sunday, regardless, I was there at 5:40 took 2 mins to decide what I wanted, filled up the sheet and as soon I was going to place an order...he was like "We are closed" I said "closed?" and he responded "Thats the policy"....I checked the time it was 5:43...and even though they were still preparing 2 other orders. I guess never going there again.
Went here twice. First time the ramen noodles were a bit undercooked, the meat was over cooked the ramen broth was eh... Second time tried the curry ramen, broth was great, meat over cooked, noodles were perfect. The curry tofu rice bowl was flavorless, tofu didnt seem cooked or marinated at all and the rice over cooked. I asked to have them put some of the curry broth in and that was better. They should have more options with their food built into the price, everything should come with a veggie. I liked everything else about the place.
I was pleasantly surprised by how tasty and affordable my ramen was. I cannot wait to go back again.
Disappointed! The pork was so dry it tasted like compressed paper. The broth was cold so the bokchoy was inedible. On top of that the cheap plastic containers leak!!! Ugh
Good, made to order Ramen in the public market. The curry broth is delicious. You select what you want on a paper then hand it to the staff, in 8 or so minutes later you have your bowl.
Been here a couple of times. Never disappointed once. We order curry chicken and ramen with chicken and pork both are delicious. They have a wide variety of customizations too. Would definitely recommend.
Good flavor, totally disorganized. SmallPortions. I like the ramen place in financial district better. Plus the staff there are more friendly
Not real ramen and not even close.
Very tasty curry ramen
Man who deals with the cash makes your food.
I just found this hidden 💎 in my city. I had the Curry broth with Chicken it was delicious. Not to pricey. I recommend eating here if you are in the area.
Very good ramen, lots of ways to customize it and it is made very quickly
Amazing food for great price so awesome!
Absolutely delicious! The curry is just heavenly 😍 and my favorite being a vegetarian! Even my non vegetarian friends love the curry ramen.
I ate TONKOTSU MISOThe noodles were wonderfully deliciousThe pork bone soup was delicious and everything was swallowed upI will come to eat if I can come again
가성비 좋아요. 맛도 좋습니다. 일본에서 먹는 라면 기대하신다면 실망하실 수도 있지만 뭐 미국에서 먹는 거니깐 어느 정도 현지화된 점은 이해 하셔야 할 거에요.
Very tasty noodles, vey good choice. Located in a nice marketplace
I wanted spicy miso and got regular, also my gyoza was Luke warm at best. I seem to consistently have this problem with the same crew at this time. Don’t know if I’m being targeted but not eating here anymore.
Okay first of all yum! These soups are so flavorful and wholesome. I took a bus on my lunch break just to have the noodles here. Also super affordable for being in Boston. This is the best spot to eat inside the Boston public market + customer service is great.
My favorite ramen in Boston. Vegans can be happy with the curry ramen and a selection of toppings + veggie gyozas (picture).
Not a bad place for lunch! Everything is quick. I personally like it but I dont think some people will share my taste is the fatty pork belly. Its very juicy and has a lot of fat as well, so just an FYI.
In love with this place, so delicious
This is good but isn’t the best place that I’ve had visited.
Dont ever go here!I came at 10:05AM in the morning and Im in a rush. After I ordered, I asked the lady (shes Asian, no offense Im Asian toohow long does it take because Im in a rush. She threw shade at me right away, said that "the noodles have to be cooked, if youre in a rush you can cancel your order, the noodles need time to be cooked". What got into her at so early in the morning? But Im sure Ill never return. Besides, about $10 for a very small portion of ramen is not reasonable. This place is an embarassment for a ramen noodles shop.
Quick and easy ramen that is pretty solid. Get extra noodles and meat! Grab some other treats in the Boston Public Market afterwards.
Stopped by this place on our last day in Boston. The Curry Ramen was amazing and hit the spot for a cold and rainy day
Noodle was great, soup was legit. One downfall, the egg. Over cooked, flavor less...
the workers were respectful and nice but I saw the owners of this place fighting in front of the costumers and that’s not ok!
Yum. And you get to pick what you want in it!
Great food and service at a reasonable price.
Amazing food and good servings!!!
My wife suggested me this place and it turned out to be one hell of a ramen place. It’s a casual, counter-serve place situated inside Boston public market. I got the veg curry broth with chicken and pickled mushrooms and it was amazingly delicious. You guys should definitely try pickled mushrooms, it’s different and delicious.
Do you see this weird clump of noodles? I was willing to give an okay review for the mediocre texture of the meat and decent broth flavor, but the fact the basic component of ramen can’t even be cooked correctly? Buyer beware.I’ve tried their curry katsu rice and it’s good, although the katsu gets soggy fast and the rice has a texture I’m not used to and don’t like.
Th broth is boss when it comes to ramen and this broth is fantastic. I ordered the tonkatsu spicy miso ramen with pork belly, enoki and soft boiled egg along with pork gyoza. The broth was well balanced between the salt and spice so it was very approachable to the masses and they have plenty of chili paste, siracha and chili oil for those like me that want even more spice. A very tasty ramen worth coming back for.
Coming in through the the Hanover St entrance, the smell is amazing. There was a hugh crowd! The food was prepared quickly and it was amazing!
Pretty good but not amazing. But if you are craving ramen and in the area, I would go again.
Noodle Lab is AMAZING. I have tried all their broths and my two favorite are the spicy miso and curry. Both have just the right amount of spice and the noodles are perfect. The best part of visiting The Noodle Lab are the two gentleman that work in the evenings. They are really nice, remember me, sometimes give me a little extra and are genuine. Their ApplePay was down the other night and they gave me my soup for free! I went back to pay today and the owner (she is really nice too!told me not to worry about it.If you are in the area and like ramen - visit Noodle Lab!!
I’m not always at boston, but when I am, I drop by Haymarket. I always get a smoothie to start my long day but one point I am starving. Decided to give this place a try, didn’t disappoint me. Love how they have the create your own menu thing which makes the process faster, I guess. Genius.I love ramen, so a quick, easy grab one is just heaven for me. I took a ramen+ricebowl combo. For ramen, I took tonkatsu broth, which was just fabulous, taste wise i’d give it 4, but the noodles, a 5. It was not mushy, not too solid, rice was good too.If I live in boston, i’d probably eat lunch here everyday ☺️
Noodle Lab wasnt the greatest, but I wasnt angry with it. It was a solid A-OK.The most important part of ramen is the broth. The tonkotsu miso didnt disappoint me; it was flavorful, salty, and a little spicy towards the end, when I didnt have anything else savory to balance it out.The noodles were tasty and solid enough where they didnt turn into mush. The toppings is where I have an issue with Noodle Lab. They taste great themselves... the problem is how the ordering is done. You can choose up to 3 toppings, with any additional toppings being +$1 each. Sounds normal, but theres a catch: they group the premium toppings in with the regular toppings. So a dash of diced onions is in the same category as a few slabs of pork belly. If you only get 3 toppings, youre not going to want to waste too many choices on smaller toppings like onions, spinach, and mushrooms... and it ultimately detracts from the ramen as a whole. Youre not going to want to spend an extra $1 on some bean sprouts or a single bunch of enoki mushrooms. What they *should* do, is ask you to choose one protein (pork belly, chicken, or other main ingredient), then give you 3 additional toppings (enoki mushrooms, bean sprouts, corn, diced onions, ...).Fix the topping issue, and Id give this place a 4/5.
I had the Tonkatsu Spicy Miso Ramen with Pork Gyoza combo, which comes out to $13. The price is reasonable, and 3 toppings were included in the price. I picked the pork belly with marinated egg and bok choy. The portion was reasonable for the price. As for the taste, it is not the best in the world but it is good enough for the price and for what it is. My only complaint is that the "Spicy" miso wasnt spicy enough.
Service is alright, food is alright, although they could reduce the sodium on their noodle broths as it can be a bit salty, but otherwise nice selection on toppings for the noodles and rice bowls. Will give 4.4/5 stars.
Food is incredible and you get quite a bit for such a good price. They make only one soup a day, so you KNOW itll be good. The broth is amazing and when they put a soft boiled egg in....be still my heart! I eat here at least once a week.UPDATE: They expanded and now have a full menu that you can customize what you want! This place keeps getting better and better, I swear. With so many options for broths, noodles, meats, veggies, and extras you will not be disappointed!
Very very slow and rude.
