Nomada Urban Beach Hostel in San Juan

The best place I have ever stayed to spend a moment of peace and quiet! Beautiful and the attention of your employee was the best received! I recommend it if you want to spend moments of peace !! Many places nearby for breakfast, dinner, shopping etc. A+++

Nice hostel. Me and my girlfriend came to Puerto Rico and spent one day in Old San Juan, went to Culebra for a full day and spent our final night here at this very nice hostel. A five minute walk to the coast is a VERY NICE BEACH! I actually enjoyed this place a lot more than my hotel in OLD SAN JUAN and being not to far from a lot of food, murals & clubs which was totally safe to walk at night was AWESOME! Bathrooms, kitchen, shower and roof top deck was REALLY NICE AND CLEAN! Quiet and peaceful sleep also!

C. Loiza location: Great hostel with affordable price and great staff. Rooftop has a pretty good view of the ocean. Rooms and bathrooms are clean. Plenty of places to sit and read a book or meet people. A small grille on the rooftop to have some BBQ if you are craving. Right from the front of the hostel you catch the T5 Bus that takes you to the airport and old san Juan. Overall great experience. definitely would come back again.

Nomada Hostel was an ideal place to stay for my vacation. The location is close to restaurants, music, bus line, and blocks from the beach. The kitchen is what you need for a self prepared meal. I loved the rooftop to hang out. The staff was very helpful...a special shout out to Nancy and Augusto for good recommendations and conversations. I am also glad the hostel had a generator for the large islandwide power outage. HIghly recommend this hostel. Ill be back when I visit again.

Great location, within walking distance to restaurants etc. Good bus route which meant it was easy enough to get to Old San Juan. Room was a good size and bathroom was clean.

Great staff and place is clean. Excellent for backpacking trips. Location is good as per the price of the stay. Can go anywhere through Uber!!

Super clean and location is great. Close to a bunch of cool places Old San Juan, Isla Verde beach with just quick Uber drive away. Staff was very helpful.Rooftop bar was closed but is a fun place to hangout and meet other people.

This hostel is okay. Pros are clean, well managed. Mattress is reasonably comfortable. People and staff are courteous and nice.The downside is the neighborhood isnt that great... also it is next to very loud street and windows dont offer much sound insulation, plus a bright blue light next to windows and bed placed right under the window, so I couldnt really sleep. Also the shared coed bathrooms are not setup well at all. There is no privacy for showering, no curtains, and hooks are outside, so when you dry or change after showering you have to open the door without clothing.Overall, this place is okay but I prefer quieter more relaxing environments where i can sleep.

They do not disclose that there is a "security deposit" required before your stay. Nowhere is it mentioned in any listing. I ended up changing my mind after that surprise but that didnt stop them from withdrawing the money from my bank without my authorization. Very unprofessional, why take my $35 for a bed in a dormitory if you planned to charge more later? I cant remember what the "security deposit" is for an actual room. Proceed with caution.

I loved the staff, the facilities, the location was central to everything, Uber’s were no more than 6.00. I loved the roof, everything. I traveled solo and felt safe. I met other solo travels whom I hung out with and enjoyed the stay! Everyone was nice and worked together to share and keep the area cleanFYI, if you happen to have a neighbor that is a little loud just politely mention the quiet hours and they will quiet down… Definitely worth giving Nomada a try! You will enjoy it!

This place is hands down one of the most awesome hostels in the world. It is so clean so very safe, welcoming and makes you feel at home. The staff is so awesome by the end of your journey you feel that you know them personally and you want to hug them because you will miss them. It is located in a perfect spot about 7 minutes walk to the beach and located on a street with any type of restaurant you can think of. Please do not question yourself please just book a room. They also have a few private rooms with a private bathroom,which is a plus.

Really cute amenities. Didnt get to spend as much time here as I would have liked. They were flexible when my trip plans changed. Will come back!!! Highly recommend!!

The place was so clean and the people are very friendly. The bunk beds have curtains which I love since they provide privacy. This might be the only place Ill be staying at if I come back in PR.

Definitely coming back here next time I visit San Juan. I would prefer staying here over a hotel room—very vibrant, lots of spots to hang out, fun people to talk to! For a very good price too. Great location too (you might have to walk a bit to get to the nice bars and beaches).

Stayed for 5 nights. Can’t complain. The hosts are great help. The areas are kept nice and tidy. Those that go should keep it tidy too. The location is great for where it’s at. If I come to PR a second time, more than likely I’ll be staying here. Thanks again!

The atmosphere was really down to earth, and the receptionists were very attentive to our needs. This is a great and inexpensive place to stay on the busy street of Calle Loiza, where the street is tailored to people of all ages!

Came to San Juan for a week and a half and decided to stay at a hostel for a change. This review is for a private room on the 3rd floor. Prior to arriving we were texted a door code to the main entrance as well as to our room. We arrived after the receptionist had gone home and had no problems getting in. We went up to our room and opened the door to find our room with the beds nicely made up, clean room our own little AC unit. The AC unit was powerful and kept the room at the temperature we set.the bathrooms were always well stocked and clean. They have 2 refrigerators on the 3rd floor where you can put your stuff and tape to label it with. We had no problems with anyone touching our things which was nice. They have a balcony on the 3rd floor with a little bar window by the kitchen, tables, chairs and a little sitting hammock on the balcony. They also have a rooftop where we spent a lot of time just hanging out. The rooftop has a great view, couches, chairs, swinging chair as well as a tiny bit of workout equipment (dumbbells, pushup handles). The staff was great and very accommodating. We had a 3rd person coming in for the last few days of the trip and expected him to sleep on the ground in our room but the front desk girl told us she would give us a cot that could be placed in the room so that he didnt have to sleep on the ground and when we were given the cot they made sure to give us nicely folded blankets, a pillow and sheets. Everyone we met that was staying there was very nice and friendly. The location is also great as it is on a street with a lot of restaurants, bars, a track/basketball court and not to mention the proximity to the beach (about a 5min walk). All in all I highly recommend this hostel as they exceed my expectations for the price we paid

Nomada is a wonderful hostel. Located less than a 5 min walk from Ocean Park Beach, the location is excellent. But what really sets this hostel apart is its staff. Super shoutout to Neri, Ben, Ryan, Paulina, and everyone else that goes above and beyond to provide tremendous service. Will definitely be back

Great experience, social setting that still offers many of the perks that big hotels hope to achieve. 7 minute walk to the beach. Lots of restaurants to choose from close by. When I come back to Puerto Rico Ill definitely be staying here again!

I never stayed at a hostel before so this was my first time and I have to say I really enjoyed my stay. The scenery was very clean and nice. I loved the rooftop. The staff was friendly. The location was also good as well!

This hostel was unbeatable. The location, amenities, cleanliness, and staff were all amazing. Neri, Salvatore, Rachel, & Vanessa were all professional, accommodating, and friendly. Salvatore even took time off work and school to show us around the island, including the best food spots and beaches & knew a lot about the island. 10/10 would stay here again and can’t wait for their new location! I could talk about how much I love Nomada Urban Beach Hostel all day. First, its beautiful. The decor embodies rest and relaxation. The roof top bar/ deck is absolutely amazing. The bedrooms and bathrooms are very clean (which was an absolute must for me). The ladies that work here are so friendly and really go the extra mile to make your stay special (extra special shoutout to Baseerah -who you can catch on the roof top deck for yoga classes!-). The location is great. Theres tons of stores and food spots on the same street (plus Uber was really cheap if you want to explore). I rave about Nomada every time I talk about my trip and plan to come back very soon.

First of all, great hospitality with the host and the way to share the login information. Comfortable, clean, organized and a lot of style. Best of all, next to the beach, parks to run for a while and good places to eat within 10 walking distance.

Great place to meet people if you are traveling by yourself. Very friendly and fun staff, always open to help with recommendations and actively engaging with the guess. Good Covid protocols and facilities up to the expectation based on the price and pictures in the website - the rooftop is amazing.

The experience was great and my first time staying at a hostel, Ill definitely stay again. One of the best places San Juan Puerto Rico has to offer clean, peaceful and great services.

Very fun hip hostel in San Juan. Right near the beach and other attractions. The rooftop bar overlooks the ocean and is a great place to hang or get a little work done. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Would recommend.Please note: hostel is not in old San Juan, however it is walkable but most would prefer a quick Uber ride.

I am so happy to have come across this local. Great decor, feel and cleanliness. This is the zenith of hostel experiences and truly should be a example of what travel means for so many. From check in to walking out of here, my experience was a pleasure. The communal feel is felt on every floor. There is a net bed to watch a projected movie or videos, complete with pool table and lounging amenities. An outdoor staircase brings your to upper floors. My room was simple and comfortable with a small locker and ample air conditioning. The community room around the corner had guitar, wall maps of past visitors and a TV where you can watch fire stick or your Netflix/Hula account through wifi. Excellent. The bathrooms are superior in cleanliness. Immaculate stone floors with male/female quarters for bathing and bathroom. 2 computers are in hall and even a gong! Coming up the stairs btw, you pass a beautiful water atrium with small fish. Peacefully zen as rest of property. There are rules for curfew behavior as is needed in a time of mass inconsideration. Kitchen on next floor and roof has tent boarding options. It is beautifully lit at night for rooftop lounging. The decor here is modern zen and even has a chalkboard for things to do and events of the days. If you arent familiar with P.R. the surrounding area may seem shady. Please note this area is being gentrified and very hip atm. Beach is just over a block away as is great restaurants and hangout strip. Great walk down Loiza to Condado strip btw.Good job Nomad

Great stay very nice staff love the rooftop access. Would give 5 stars but sadly our room wasnt ready upon arrival. Hostess quickly fixed that and after we enjoyed our room it was a simple room but good bed n I be tv great ac and best of all quiet. I would definitely recommend this place for those looking for a good location near local spots. Also due to covid 19 they have hand sanitizer all over and disenfect each room which made us feel very safe.

I stayed in one of the private rooms with the shared bathroom. Everything was super clean, and the common areas were spacious and well appointed. Beautiful roof! Didnt use the kitchen very much but it seemed to have e everything you might need. Couldnt ask for more. Thanks Neri and crew! :)

I stayed here for three nights prior to connecting with friends in Old San Juan. Nomada Urban Beach Hostel is tastefully decorated, clean, centrally located, and staffed well. In essence, it’s a great value. Despite my general inability to read, the front desk staff were patient, and helped me with researching tours, showing me around, directing me to the supermarket, and helping me with my laundry.I tend to leave the U.S. mainland several times a year (in 2019, I traveled to Ecuador, Mexico, Canada, Switzerland, Italy, Slovenia, and Austria; this trip is taking me to a number of the West Indies, and I’ll be in Greece and the Galapagos in early 2020), and I always stay in hostels. They’re a great way to meet new people, and they’re much more accessible than hotels.Nomada Urban Beach Hostel is truly a gem. I found the property by accident, but I’ll be back next week when I pass back through Puerto Rico, and I’ll be back here whenever I pass through Puerto Rico. Try the roof deck, the kitchen balcony, and the lobby loft—they’re great fun.Special thanks to the staff and guests of Nomada Urban Beach Hostel. I’ll never forget our long chats on the roof, our work parties in the mini-bar area, and our excursions to the beach.

Best hostel I have stayed at so far! They have a pool table, Tv with YouTube and Netflix, Computers, kitchen and an awesome balcony! The area is really nice! It’s next to a lot of bars and a great location if you want to experience the nightlife! It only cost about 7 dollars with Uber to get to Old San Juan. And the beach is like 2 blocks away!

I was a little nervous initially at the idea of a coed bathroom until I found how clean its kept. The showers and toilets (4 of eachare designated by door signs for either male or female use. For example, behind the 4 doors with the ponytail clad girl sign are 2 toilets and 2 showers for women. (The sinks are in the entry area and look sparkling clean at all times!!Hostels are not for everyone. At 50+, I never travel to enjoy a hotel room, so this little place was perfect for me. It provided a clean, comfy place to lay my head each night and a private place to shower and use the loo. The 4 bunk dorm room was perfectly adequate and I liked the youthful, urban, industrial vibe. If this isnt enough, theres also the fact that its within walking distance of the beach, fine dining, shopping and supermarket where I shopped daily for my breakfast fruit and the chance to practice my not so great Spanish. Id stay here again in a heartbeat!!!

Great customer service, was very happy with our stay. My wife was really nervous coming there for a night but she felt safe and had no complaints. We stayed in a tent on the rooftop and slept great on the air mattress. Would recommend for sure.

I had a wonderful stay at Nomada! It’s conveniently located near the beach and other cafes/restaurants. The staff is very nice and welcoming. The atmosphere and environment of the hostel is stellar with open areas, amazing rooftop views, and clean common areas!

Amazing place :so many cool plants, the rooms & common areas are cool and air conditioning is great. The whole vibe is very chill and the roof patio is great. You can see the beach from there! I arrived at 4:45am and Jacob let me in and was super helpful in the whole check in process. 100% recommend and will stay here again!

Awesome Hostel! Friendly and professional staff. Large clean rooms; great room rates. All the amenities any five star hotel has! This was my first time staying in a hostel, was skeptical when booking, but it turned out to be a wonderful stay and it gave me a chance to experience Pureto Rico from a local standpoint that I would not have had a chance to if we stay in one of the chain hotel. You can see from the pictures wonderful amenities even a roof top bar that you can see the downtown San Juan in 360°. Great stay!!

First time staying at a hostel. I was pleasantly surprised. The entire staff is very nice and helpful to get you where you want to go. Clean. We stayed in private room. Small and quaint and cozy, private bathroom AND balcony! Great view of city and not far from the beach. I would definitely stay here again. It is the coolest place. I will say be ready to go up 2-3 flights of stairs. If you have lots of luggage, you may reconsider. Definitely for light travelers....Nomads! #nomadarocks

This place is phenomenal! We have been very very happy guests here.We flew into San Juan and found this hostel via Google maps. We booked the Tent Camping on the roof since it was the cheapest option, not thinking it would be nice or luxerious. We were wrong!The community at this hostel is wonderful, the front desk lady is super nice and talked to us our entire stay :Take a look at my photos, the place is unique, super secure, very clean and overall a wonderful stay.Plus our tent we were in had a large air mattress (super comfy!Power outlet, a fan, and blankets.My next trip to San Juan I will be returning here :its been wonderful!

The hostel is adorable with its clean common areas, kitchenettes, roof deck and funky decor. Every staff member was kind and helpful, whether it was 10 AM or 12 midnight. We stayed in a private corner room with bare yet essential furnishings and a private balcony. This room was extremely loud because 1it was next to a kitchenette, 2it had roads on 2 sides, and 3we had the misfortune of going to bed early on an evening of a festival. Nomada is gated for security, a 4 minute walk to the grocery store, pharmacy, and good restaurants; a 10 minute walk to the beach. Please note my rating is based upon comparison to other hostels, not to unlike lodging types.

Great hostel if you are looking for clean rooms friendly people and good prices. I stayed in a queen room. Had a balcony and a private bathroom. Great TV a d air conditioning. Beware there are lots of steps...3 flights to get to my room! Highly recommend this place.

I really like this place. It is honestly magnificent! The staff were all very friendly and helpful to all of my needs. I literally have nothing negative to say. The bed was perfect. The bathrooms were clean. I love the outside decks. The common area is cute, clean and perfect. I could go on all day. If youre looking for a place to stay on a budget, I would highly recommend Nomada Urban!

Overall, I was very happy with this hostel. It is very clean and the staff are friendly and knowledgeable. Great place to meet other people if you are traveling solo as I was. Cool rooftop terrace with nice views in all directions. If you have a rental car, street parking is easy to find. Lots of good places to eat nearby. I would definitely stay here again.

If you ever check in a hostel in your life, do it here! And do it NOW. Best decision i made. Super clean, and the roof top is to die for. Such a cool vibe, very modern chic artsy place. For me the best part was the staff though, smiles always, so helpful, got amazing recs, i mean its just the kind of place i would go to hang out. Making some really good friends was just a cherry on top. (Word of caution: no kids allowed, or under the age of 12, check the rules)

From the moment we checked in, the staff was super helpful and caring. They insured that we were comfortable, happy and well taken care of. This hostel is nothing like what you hear or see about in other places. This has got to be a true gem on the entire north side of the Island. The common areas are always kept very clean. The kitchen is well equipped for meals with everything available. The rooftop has got to be the best thing Ive seen in a long time. Hammocks, chairs, sofas, you name it. Great place to come together and meet people. I will be back!

This was such a great experience, coming here and staying in a roof top tent with an ocean view. The hostel is brand new with state of the art decor and is the same price as all the other dumpy hostels that PR offers. So glad I found this place, the friendly staff made me feel welcome and provided everything I needed.
