Noël Coward’s Firefly House - Museum in Port Maria, Jamaica
One of the most humbling and idyllic locations on the planet. Peace and love..
The view was breath taking. Place needs some work but its a must visit
The view is breathtaking but its not worth 15 USD per person
Fantastic views from this location but very tired. Cost is way to expensive for just the views no access to the house. Guide is knowledgeable and has been at this location over 30 years. Sadly it is not worth the money, they really need to spend some money on it to make it worth while visiting.
Nice place just need a face-lift.
Beautiful scenery, good customer service, great location to visit.
Very nice and friendly staff
The place was cool but the guide was a little shady with the price. At $20 a person we felt a bit ripped off. Still enjoyed the visit for the scenery though.
Views are worth the prices. We paid 2500 Jamaican per, there is a bar and no rush while you enjoy the tour and property. Being your good camera and a few snack! The drive up is kind of rough. The sign for the museum is small. But the neighbors are friendly and they will point you in the right direction. I tried to capture a few photos as well..
Most breathtaking scenic tour youll ever take
Simply beautiful
Its a great place and it tell you about history
Haunted
Fantastic views
很开心的一次拜访,按本地价收了我们一个人JMD1200。站在山上可以看到港湾,如画一样.
Great view of north east coast, not many people, small bar available.
Breathtaking
Absolutely wonderful, unexpected treasure. Up the roughest, windiest, steepest track but well worth the scary drive. You park right at the property in deep forest then walk round the simple bungalow onto a patio and gardens that are simply breathtaking. You are guided round the simple, plantation style rooms with the feeling Mr Coward has just walked into the next. His art, books and furnishings give you the feeling he loved simplicity and elegance and Jamaica. We could have sat in his garden all day, it was heaven.
Honnêtement, lun des plus beaux endroits de notre séjour. Nhésitez pas ! Realy.
Beautiful sight, but there was a hostel very close called "Germanica Hostel" and the view was identical but it was free.
Noels presence lingers in every room even though more than 40 rears have passed since he died here, alone in the bathroom. The house is as he left it, unchanged, unvarnished. Firefly takes some effort to find, but if you want to meet the man, youll find him here. So do it. Whether youre a fan or not, youll enjoy connecting with the past and with a bygone age, an age with more time and maybe less intrusion. He found this place you know in 1946 when driving around with Ian Fleming, whose Golden Eye is about 10 miles down the road, although these roads are so rutted, you might think it feels more like 50 miles. It would be a pity to visit the north coast of Jamaica and not come here.
Awesome
It was so beautiful. My wife and I are thinking of using the facility as our anniversary reception. Breathtakingly beautiful.
Noel Cowards winter getaway and playground where he entertained and found inspiration. Also Henry Morgans stronghold on same swath of mountainside greenery with a view that predates back to indigenous Ianito. Noels home is setup to give a sense of how he lived and worked while here with memorabilia that truly brings it alive despite his death and burial.in 1973. Arrange for a guided tour, definitely need transportation to shuttle you from GoldenEye. Available for events & most likely similar to how Noel hosted back in his day.
Bauetiful place to visit
One of the best view ever
It has a great view of the parish capital St Mary and neighboring towns
Bad road, amazing view
Great view
Simply lived in. Lots of good pictures of Coward. Worth a tour if you can get one. And a fabulous fabulous view!! Also has history tied up with Morgan the pirate from late 1600s.
Awesome view
This place should be seen by everyone! I loved it here.
Nice view and venue
Best View in Jamaica
A torturous road leads to the gem that is Firefly but it is well worth the trip. You are stepping into the golden age of Hollywood when you tour Noel Cowards modest little home. I could imagine the many stars who also enjoyed the place. The views from the location are almost beyond belief and the design of Cowards home makes great advantage of that. A very special place in the world.
Beautiful place!!!!!
Best of the best. Nice view
Awesome scenic views, but it can be hot up there.
Exceptional view
Picturesque, cool and relaxing.
The view is spectacular
Gorgeous view and lovely grounds
Excellent location for weddings and picnicking
Beautiful site with stunning views. The house requires considerable restoration.
Beautiful view !! My daughter was married here
The view its serene!
GREAT FOOD!
Went there with a group of friends, and everyone had a great time. The house needs some restoration, but thats underway from what were told. But the property itself is great, the view is great. Definitely Top 5 in Jamaica on a good day.
