Upmarket standard for Peruvian-accented Japanese fare served in a chic, happening setting.
I don’t know where to begin! Nobu Los Angeles did not disappoint we had an amazing experience all the food was delicious and the king crab tempura was divine! Our service was superior and I cannot wait to come back! Thank you Nobu 🥰
Nowhere near the quality one would expect of a place of this caliber. Better sushi can be found in almost and restaurant in West LA. Visited for our anniversary dinner and spent the next morning in the bathroom. Reached out to management and got no response. For the prices they charge, this is incredibly shameful behavior.
Black cod was a standout, otherwise not too much distinguishing Nobu from other high end sushi restaurants, despite its cachet.
Very good experience. Knowledgable and attentive staff. Sushi quality can increase. Steak tasted like duck but I’m sure that their speciality.
Service was spectacular. Food was great especially their cooked food and desserts
The stars are for the staff. If you like to show off , to be seen or if you are an IG influenced or influencer Its your place.👍Gorgeous view !!!World of conformity !3 cars in parking lot can easily pay for a building for the homeless people down the street.Food wise :I choose the cod very very good and the artichauts salade absolutely perfect !Very nice staff"Opulence and fame will shorten your life, ask for long life, and youll enjoy the former in small quantities, for it is a substitute"Michael Bassey Johnson
Nice but pricey food, and good service from Kevin. Good selection of various cold appetizers, hot food and sushi. Informed that we were celebrating our graduation but sadly nothing was arranged for us.
Yikes. The outdoor seating area is very below the experience of what you can get in LA elsewhere - especially for this price point. Initial service interaction was rude so we left before we ordered. It’s sad because this place has had such a good reputation.
deserve the name and fame they have! they provide a great overall experience, service, ambience and food! dishes are all family/sharable small plates.. very tasty, delicious.. I would suggest sitting in the patio(it may be for bigger groups only).. valet parking available..
An incredible experience of delicious flavour packed into every mouthful. Our waitress (wish I knew her name to mention but she had blue highlights in her hairwas so helpful and her recommendations were spot on. When in doubt ask her to offer what the popular items are. I enjoyed how we started with cold dishes, through to warm, and finished with dessert. Im not one to ever choose a carrot cake on the dessert menu, but again chosen based on our waitress recommendation. This thing is truly special. The lobster and wagyu tacos were amazing, as was the miso black cod, which was a highlight for me. Well done to the staff and chef at Nobu.
Nobu is a lovely classy establishment & the food available is also classy & exemplary in every way. The service as one would expect at Nobu Los Angeles is fantastic. Nobu will not disappoint & was a pleasure to dine there.
Amazing experience! Food was absolutely delicious — and our server, Art, was exceptional! He was so sweet, and so knowledgeable! 10/10 experience and I would definitely go again!
Very good food. Valet parking only 10$ (for this area absolutely easy). Thanks to server JACOB who did a fantastic job! And the outdoor area is very cozy and inviting.
If youre coming for the expirence this place is a 5/5, theres a nice fancy atmosphere. There was a celebrity and nba dining here which was pretty cool to see. As for the food had some strip loin, loads of sushi, waygu and lobster tacos; everything was average. I expected way more when it came to the food it was a 3/5 at best.
Good experience. Going in, you know it’s going to be expensive, but it’s very delicious and the service is top notch. The award winning cocktail was one of the best cocktails I’ve ever had as well.
Had the sushi tasting and it was wonderful. Left the choice to our server, and he delivered exactly what we didnt know we wanted! Great meal!
Overpriced for the food taste, I guess you pay for the experience. They didnt have any dessert, the day we went. Too bad!
For a first-timer: Those in your party should either like raw fish or be willing to try (great place for a first tastein order to truly experience Nobu. Every dish is a small plate except for the 4 or so entrees. We ended up with 5 courses and about $125 a person with drinks (which is cheap compared to others). The wait staff is invaluable with their recommendations. I certainly understand the price point, but some items can be confusing. As an example, a 1 inch toro taco is $15, but an entire toro roll is $20 with 3x the fish.
Food & service was fantastic! Josh took great care of us. Outside area is a let down though… looks like a cheap set up for a sweet 16th so wouldn’t recommend sitting outside but inside looked much better.
Today I was very excited to go to Nobu. My father was very excited as he has always talked so highly of the food and how amazing the service was, so naturally I got excited as well. The food was great, the service was average to great, but that’s not what this review is about. I only have two stars for the food and service. The three stars taken off are for the items that were stolen while I was eating with my family. When we got to Valet I remember having a bad feeling when I left my bag with all my valuables in the backseat, but brushed it off because what could go wrong at an almost five star restaurant, right? Obviously they’d put our car in a safe, secure spot right? Obviously they’d make sure no one would be able to easily break in right? Wrong. When my family was done eating, we received our car with a shattered window. If that wasn’t worse enough, my bag was missing as well. We had been robbed. When we realized this had happened we expected to receive help from the valet, but they only told us to “go home” and that they “wouldn’t call the police”. I had my wallet with my ID, debit and credit cards, and money, my iPad, my clothes, my portable charger, and my artwork in that backpack. That backpack was also a gift from someone I care about and they just wanted me to “go home” after what had happened and act like this incident never occurred. Act like there wasn’t broken glass spread around the car as glass continues to blow around as we drive from the wind blowing in through the hole in our car. We had to talk to staff inside of Nobu before the valet called them, and even after that they acted like they had been already calling them for us even though they had previously refused. Now, I wouldn’t have completely blamed the valet for this incident if I hadn’t known where they parked the car. We were one of the first people that arrived at Nobu, so when we learned that our car was parked on the top floor, in a dark, shady corner, with no security cameras, I was desperately confused. Why were we given such a bad spot? Were there no available spots on the first floor? Upon searching, my father said there were plenty. It almost seems like this was done on purpose, but l didn’t write this article to accuse anyone. I just want people to be wary of who they leave their cars in the hands of and prevent anyone else from having their valuables stolen because of inadequate staff. Such a shame that such a happy evening had to be ruined by this.
Service was subpar. Took 45 minutes for the drinks to come out and none of the food for my party came out at the same time. By the time 3 of us were done eating the last persons food arrived. No updates and no one came to check on us. Very disappointing experience and I have been to several Nobu locations across the U.S and internationally. By far the worst.
Love the way Nobu has several rooms to dine in and a bar area to wait if youre table isnt quite ready. The food and service surpassed my expectations. The key is to order multiple items from the menu and share. High quality seafood!!!
"What a gorgeous place with amazing price for food that is so wonderfully put together! From the custom menu to the dessert, WOW!Wow, for taking us a in a few minutes earlier than reserved.Wow, for a gorgeous atmosphere! (Dont come dressed down!)Wow, for congratulationing us for the event we were celebrating! The waiter was really helpful and super friendly, the rest of the staff was on top of making sure we had everything needed like water and clean plates. We had the ribs super tasty and the melt in your mouth. "
It was my first time at the famous Nobu. Had to make a reservation 2 weeks in advance for a weekday. Skip the $10 valet, there was enough parking on the street. The dim lighting and wood panelling makes for a good ambience but noticed the table was frayed at one edge. For first timers there’s two ways to go - a $200 tasting menu (Omakaseor tell the well-trained waiter your tastes and preferences and he’ll recommend a course of dishes. Our waiter was patient and serviced with a smile, which I always appreciate. There’s two lists - “classic” items which you’ll find at every Nobu and dishes tailored to the locale called “now”. We had Nobu staples - the Yellowtail Jalapeño (6 thin slivers of fish in yuzu soy sauce and topped with a slice of jalapeño on topwhich was tangy and buttery smooth with a moderate kick; the Miso Cod (great silky texture with a sharp but sweet sauce); Salmon Yuzu Karashi Su Miso (which was six small slices of fish in a tart sauce); and the Golden Eye Snapper nigiri (which I learnt from a Vox interview with Nobu is his favourite). For dessert a bread pudding - bites of toasted bread with thyme with strawberries and milk. Spent an hour and a half there. The above won’t fill two of you but will leave you satisfied that you tried Nobu and cost you about $150. I‘m glad I went and enjoyed the food, but with the price point I don’t think I’ll go back very frequently.
Made a late reservation for dinner as we were in town visiting some friends. Our reservation was only for 2 people. The service was fast compared to other restaurants in LA. The food was delicious but not plentiful. I would compare the size of the dishes to a tapas style restaurant. The 5 stars is for the ambiance and the flavor in the food. Not sure I would return unless it was for a business expense.
Sadly the restaurant is not what it used to be. As a local to Beverly Hill we have dined at Nobu numerous times pre and post Covid. The last two meals we had we lacking in service, taste and quality of food. Our bill before tax for four people was $382.00. I don’t mind paying a lot if the quality and service are worth it…sadly, neither the food or service was good. I would rather have gone to Sawtelle or almost any other decent venue and paid 1/4 and gotten better quality food. The king (Nobuhas no clothes on…someone needs to tell King Nobu!
Most overrated place ever.First of all we had to confirm 3 times for our reservation. We were about to cancel since we were contacted that often.Restaurant is so mediocre - interior is close to an all you can eat restaurant. Our waiter was nice but disappearing the whole time. I was looking for him for straight 10 min three times.Food was so average. Sushi was nothing special at all and pretty dry.We ordered regular and spicy edamame. The regular ones never made it to our table. Even after telling the waitress about it it didn’t come after 15 min. So we took it off the bill.Don’t understand the hype at all. Save your money
My husband and I had an amazing experience at Nobu tonight. Every single employee we had the pleasure of interacting with was so welcoming and friendly. Our server, Beatrice, was amazing and was able to answer any questions we had. The food was incredible. There was not a single item we were disappointed with. We are already looking forward to our next visit.
My mom had been wanting to visit this place for a long time so it has been officially scratched off the list of “places to try”. For me this was a 1 and done, I never have to come back again. The food is just OK especially for the prices. I didn’t get to picture everything we tried, but the biggest hit are the panko shallots. Pictured are the mini tacos; we had the sea bass. For $8 per taco these were extremely mediocre.
Nobu is a good restaurant with good tasting food. Service is fantastic and the staff can choose your meal from start to finish for you depending on tastes, price point, and what you want to try. The menu is big and I really recommend leaving the choices up to the pros. There are a few key dishes that are must tries and the sushi and sashimi is delicious. Salmon tartare with caviare, was one of my favorite dishes. Price point is about $200 and up per person with drinks.
Food was extremely salty and didnt taste good. Definitely not worth the hype and price.
You’re going to Nobu, so the price is expected to be high and quality should also be high. The waiters are very snobby. He kept on bragging about how lucky we were that they gave us our food before a large table in front of us and that we didn’t wait long. That shouldn’t be something that he brags about, it should be expected that you shouldn’t have to wait 45 min to get your food.Sushi is not that good for the price.Hot and cold dishes are good but very overpriced. If you have reservations, be prepared to wait 30 min anyway.
I feel it overrated. Service was great food just alright. Ive eaten at high end restaurants but sorry this isnt one of them, dont know what the hipe about..... enjoy
Delicious food / boring ambiance. Went on a Thursday to try Nobu for the first time. The food and drinks were delicious. We had a great waiter who recommended many things which were perfect. The sake was delicious and smooth and the caviar tacos were unique and definitely worth trying. Only disappointing thing was we sat outside and the vibe was quiet and boring. Other than that very pleased! Parking is also pretty easier to find on the street so I’d try that before sending money on valet.
It is the first Nobu restaurant set up by their chef in Los Angeles. We booked seats one month in advance to have this refined dining experience on Friday night. The valet outside is $10, and there are also abundant street parking choices. The service was extraordinary, they take precautions for the pandemic in every detail and gave us not only a sense of comfort but also security. They gave very patient advice on the dishes choice. They know that it was our first time here, so they let us take orders one by one, to see if we like what they serve. The “premium omakase” on the menu is $200 per person and it was perfect for a date. While we this time chose to order by plates. We highly recommend their bluefin tuna, it was very fresh and flavorful!Something we recommend most is the BREAD PUDDING, it was made of hot croissant bread pudding in cast iron with strawberries and milk gelato. We initially were not decided to try the dessert after the sushis, while we were fortunate that we did! And it didn’t let us down, with the ice cream on the top and hot croissant on the bottom, every bite was joyful.
In keeping with its name and fame it was a gastronomical experience on our first visit to Nobu last night. Each drink and dish exceptional in flavor and presentation in its own right. Hard to pick a favorite from all that we had. Whether it was the Salmon Tartare with Caviar , their signature dish black cod with miso, the Arctic Char with Chimichurri, the Nori Kaba Ribeye or the sashimi.....everything was excellent. But if I really had to choose one it would be the Salmon Tartare with Caviar. One has to try it to know it.The wait and serve staff were excellent as well- courteous, informative and helpful. The only reason I am not giving it 5 stars is the table we were seated at,a corner table on the back patio....when you are paying the kind of money you do at such restaurants you do want a great ambience. We werent even asked inside or outside.
Our dining experience was wonderful. Food was amazing. We ordered a few things, rock shrimp, jalapeño seabass, tempura lobster, spicy edemame, spicy tuna with crispy rice, lobster and shrimp, and ribeye with crispy onions. We enjoyed every single thing celebrating a birthday right.Thank you Becky for such wonderful service! ❤🤗
Quality quality quality. Great service. Great food. Expensive, but delicious. The service has always been stellar and the food quality is delicious.
Truly one of the greatest dining experiences Ive had. I loved every moment of this meal. Food was delicious and beautifully presented.
Enjoyed the experience, the staff was very friendly and very accommodating. Our bridal party had a blast. And the food was very appeasing. Being honest the price was a bit pricey for the portion of food on some plates. But otherwise it was enjoyable and tasty.
Great service and wonderful food quality! Our server picked out everything we ate and I recommend going that route especially if you don’t want to spend too much time looking at the (quite longmenu.
I can only vouch for the pickup takeout option here. Might I say it was probably one of the better choices in town for takeout. At first I wasnt aware that we had a whole "blue apron" like kit ahead of us. Let me tell you that was the most fun part. It was the Valentines Day menu. The instructions were clear succinct you had to be a fool to mess this up. Its already prepped all you have to do is just cook. And its not even heavy cooking. Its more of a sear, reheat, plate and presentation method. Highly recommend the takeout. This wont do you wrong youll avoid the rush, hustle and bustle, crowds and covid-19... Stay healthy out there.
Service was pretty spot on. The food portion you are truly going in for a tasting experience rather than being full. The sushi quality was nice and the other dishes were tiny. However, they are really flavorful. Just done expect to be full without spending a couple of hundos. Id reserve this place for a special occasion.
Had an amazing time in Nobu - West Hollywood location. Its always a great dining experience at any Nobu and this location did not disappoint. The food was excellent as always, drinks were great however drink service slightly slow. The wagyu flambe was amazing. The black miso cod is a must, and the sashimi is all so delicious. Tyler was our server and he was super friendly and helpful. Definitely will be back again when were in LA next.
What a Fantastic Experience here at Nobu!It did Not disappoint. Must tries, obviously the Black Cod, as well as the Hamachi Jalepeño. Needless to say, there was Nothing here we didnt like. The desserts were out of this world! Service by both our waiter and waitress were Beyond Excellent! All Around a Very Satisfying Meal with great company!
You can’t experience Los Angeles without experiencing Nobu’s. This restaurant is the best of the best. Nobuyuki "Nobu" Matsuhisa is an amazing celebrity chef, and his creations are A list famous. The restaurant offers both vegan, and non vegan dishes, and they have often duplicated non vegan dishes with vegan options. The sushi dishes are my favorite but their vegan food is spectacular, too! The flavors are like nothing in this world. The drinks are delicious, and the desserts are worth the calorie intake. My favorite is the carrot cake with cinnamon ice cream. The interior is full of rich, beautiful colors, low lights, and swanky lamps. Lots of reds, and golds. Each room is decorated a little different, and there is a fun bar area. The crowd is diverse, and the wait staff is delightful. They take the time to make your night magical. Nobu is a great dinner place for family, and friends, and a perfect place for date nights. Tip: It’s a fancy place, so dress up. They have valet parking. You will need it.
While the food is pretty good here, it was hard to justify the price. Ive been to a fair share of high end restaurants and the portions here are even smaller per dollar than most places. Thats fine though, it does have a good ambiance and the staff is great.
This place just blew me away when you want to taste Sushi right now you definitely go there. The service was exceptional, their cocktails and drinks are just to die for, and not to mention their food is just out of this world anything with a sauce in your Sashimi is what makes the dish. We tried anything that was either fried or Raw and nothing was bad everything was perfect, if you have any questions just ask your waitresses because they are very knowledgeable when it comes down to these dishes and thats what we pretty much did and each dish was very tasty, even the dessert which was bread pudding was phenomenal but word of advice is that if you do come here then expect to pay a pretty penny but every dollar was worth it we will definitely come back again.
High end restaurant serves traditional Japanese food with fusion of American and Mexican twists, if you are willing to try either way. Our sake were served in wine glasses. Classy. We were asked about our appetite preference. We preferred a family style 5-course arranged by a very friendly waiter. Several courses were excellently prepared with salmon, mahi mahi, and cod. We were very happy with the recommendation, especially the lamb chops to end the heat evening. One of the best dinner places.
If you want to have a unique dining experience with pleasant environment, attentive staff, and more importantly exceptional food, then look no further. Blackened Alaskan Cod is a must, by far the best dish of a very memorable evening.
