COMO Metropolitan London, 19 Old Park Ln, Mayfair, London W1K 1LB, Mus
Minimalist setting for Japanese-Peruvian fusion cuisine, popular with A-list celebrities.
Food and Service was excellent. But, we could not really enjoy the delicious dishes; it was extremely loud in the restaurant. Am not exaggerating. We had to shout almost at each other a one of the smaller tables for four.
Well worth it! Excellent choice of food but does get very booked early so need to plan and book in advance. Will definitely be revisiting.
Having worked at a Nobu restaurant before, I was extremely disappointed. The service was meh, the food was Ok but the whole experience was a let down. But the prices, always up there. At this point I would not recommend, nor go again.
OMG! The food is amazing, service amazing, my waiter Zygimant was amazing. I ordered:Yellowtail jalapeño sashimi,New style salmon sashimi,Crispy rice and spicy tuna,Spinach salad,Baby tiger shrimp tempura and three saucesAnd Shrimp spicy garlic. To drink I had the Japanese margarita because they don’t have the master margarita you would get at Portman Square.Yellowtail jalapeño sashimi and New style salmon sashimi are so good we had to get another one.I don’t like the way the place looks (designso next time I’m choosing Nobu Restaurant at Portman Square.
I have been to many Nobu restaurants and unfortunately, this location was a very big disappointment. We often eat A5 Waygu beef and know what to expect. Nobu is always excellent, but the sushi, beef and other food was the worse dinner we had. It has an old and tired decor and is not worth the price we paid for our meal. There are two other Nobu’s in London. My recommendation, do not eat at the Old Park location - it was not a good experience.
Amazing Food, ambience and service as usual.
VICTIM OF ITS REPUTATION :- Taste of the food is not even close to what you would expect from a Japanese fine cuisine « institution » such as Nobu. Serious lack of quality in ingredients selection.- I don’t recommend the Omakase menu. Quantity is decent, but the experience is not satisfying. Nothing special.- Service is decent but not enough for this place’s standard for customer expectation- The atmosphere does not sell Japanese fine food at all. Random decor with an excess of occidental furniture. There’s no soul, thus no customer experience. All in all, would have preferred spending £150/pax. on Japanese street food, with which you can hardly be disappointed with compared with Nobu.
delicious food! staff are friendly and courteous! knowledgeable with the food they serve. i would recommend to try the tasting menu from their chef’s signature dishes. perfectly cooked steak!
Went to this place for the first time with a friend and I must say we both enjoyed the food, it was so goooood, the Chef definitely knows how to cook. Our waitress (Doinawho was amazing she recommended some good Dishes, I definitely recommend this place
I had an amazing meal here in 2002, but this more recent visit didnt live up to that. I think in the last 20 years, the rest of the world has caught up to a Western presentation of Japanese Izakaya dining, that Nobu led the way on back then.Sydney has at least 4 better places and dozens as good at 25% of the cost, albeit in less nice rooms and often with actual Japanese staff, even adjusting for Londons eye watering prices. It was fine, but the menu was uninspired and the cost was driven by fashion not experience.
We were told we had an hour and a half and the waitress tried to accommodate but was a little slow. We were not impressed with the dishes either. Maybe we chose the wrong things, seeing as everyone else have enjoyed it. A bottle of water at 6£ and a dish of about 6prawns at 32£ was a tad pricy. it was supposed to be spicy garlic but it lacked the garlic. Wouldnt go again. The service was ok, not exceptional. There is a service charge. Clean and tidy though.
Great food! Original Japanese/Peruvian styled dishes. Super high quality, but with prices to match. One of my all time favorite places. Highly recommended.
I visited Nobu last night and as soon as I walked in I was asked to ‘cover up’ as ‘there are kids and family’s eating’. I was wearing a backless top and maxi skirt. I’m completely disgusted that the reception staff are allowed to say this. We’re in the central London and it was 24 degrees. Terrible start to my anniversary. Other then that the food and staff in the restaurant were lovely.
Doesnt live up to the hype. The establishment looks outdated. Dishes are overpriced and underserved. I indeed enjoy nice and fancy places to have dinner, but Nobu London has been a big disappointment.
The good:1. Most of the dishes were really delicious and top level Japanese cuisine.2. The service was great, it was quick, attentive but not intrusive. The bad:1. The decor is appalling. Without exaggerating, Nobu London looks like a university canteen. When youre paying roughly £100 per head you want to experience a bit of luxury and style and this restaurant is not it.2. If this restaurant was half the price or the dishes were twice the size then it would be worth going to as most of the dishes were flavoursome and memorable. Some of the portion sizes were ridiculous, the worst was £14 for two (!prawns.3. A surprising number of the dishes and drinks were not well reviewed by our group. The prawns mentioned above were distinctly average, as was the apple crumble - Humble Crumble do it infinitely better for half the price. However, the worst one was a £15 cocktail which upon smelling and drinking it my friend discovered had truffle oil in it. He said it was the most disgusting drink he had ever had.All in all Nobu London is one to avoid. I am happy to spend money on a meal if the food is delicious and the experience is enjoyable but this restaurant has neither. Dont make the same mistake we did by ruining your evening with dinner at Nobu London and go to Sushi Samba or China Tang instead.
Hot plates were Excellent. Service outstanding. Wine exquisite. Sushi ok. Portions very small. Grossly overpriced though. 288 pounds for me and my daughter with one glass of excellent wine and one fresh orange juice.
I’m totally disappointed with the quality of food. It was tasteless and cold. The ambiance was nothing as to what I expected for a high end restaurant. Looked like a local canteen. The staff did everything they could to resolve but in the end, we left unsatisfied, hungry, and very disappointed. It ruined my friends birthday. Never again.
Despite looking like a sad airport hotel conference center cafe this is indeed a Nobu. Fear not the food is fantastic and will not let you down. The room is positively awful and they really need to shut down and do a total makeover sooner than later though. 5 stars for food but 2 for ambience.
Very good location. Located near a small intimate and yet beautiful park.Spacious rooms at a good price for a 5 starBrilliant impeccable service, Kleandra at the reception is the nicest lady youll meet there. The food at the restaurant is also amazing.Brilliant Japanese food.
I went here for my birthday yesterday at first glance the decor reminded me of a travel lodge hotel restaurant. The staff looked very scruffy and the bar was something from a local pub. Alas, I still tried to give them the benefit of doubt and orders some food. The sushi presentation was very similar and uninspiring and tasted like the sushi you can buy at a supermarket. We ordered zucchini tempura which was two pieces that tasted like nothing. We paid the bill and went to sticks and sushi which was a fraction the price and full of flavour. I can’t believe you can charge extortionate prices when your quality is so poor and no where near as good as some of the Asian restaurants out there! You’re paying for a name and bland food! Avoid!
A plentiful, delicious lunch with colleague Paul Das of ProFundCom.Service was excellent and the Bento box delicious and good value. Recommended for lovely sumptuous sushi and more…
An exceptional dining experience. Food was fresh and delicious, as are the cocktails which were incredibly moreish, and the staff very attentive.Favourite menu items were the sashimi salad, and we enjoyed a range of sushi and ceviche, but next time I will order the tasting menu (£110which looks fabulous. It was a perfect evening, but the cherry on top was a Yuzu Sake we all had at the end.It was £500 for the 4 of us.
Food was lovely. Restaurant itself could do with a massive overhaul. Very dated. Someone posted it looked like a school canteen, I tend to agree on part. Resembles an all inclusive hotel canteen. Not much by way of an ambience. The staff were very helpful. We asked about dress code for lunch before we arrived, were told smart casual, Id say more casual than smart! Ive not eaten sushi before, found the menu rather overwhelming but the staff were great. Perhaps some description of dishes would have been more helpful as apposed to me googling an explanation whilst sat with my guests. Overall a decent experience but will not be returning. Whopping £400 bill for 3 people including drinks (1 bottle of wine and 3 cocktails). Ive been to Sushisamba recently which I found more enjoyable.
This is the first time I have ever left a review for anything. I have been to various Nobu’s worldwide and they are all of a very high standard In food, atmosphere and service. This particular Nobu is not worth the money, go to a takeout sushi place instead. Honestly it’s so much money to spend on subpar fish, dismissive service and corporate interior vibe. We were so excited to come here and left feeling like we’d fallen into a tourist trap.
Enjoyed the 20th Anniversary Omakase. Excellent friendly service. Wonderful high quality dishes with creative flair. Looking forward to our next visit for their 25th year.
Amazing food and a wonderful experience for my partners birthday. There is a 15% optional service change that can be removed for those looking yo save soke money. The water can also be a little deceptive at £6.00 a bottle - I would have not had any if Id known. The food itself was really delicious with plenty of vegan choices. I highly recommend for those looking to try a more upmarket Japanese restaurant
Wow this was probably the best sushi and sashimi I have ever had. It was absolutely fantastic, amazing staff, delicious sake and fantastic fantastic atmosphere. I want to go back here again and again, super bloody expensive but was totally totally worth it!!!
Great food and experience although it is missing the extra finesse that Id expect of such an establishment.I had the soft shell crab roll which was one of the best I have ever had. The black cod miso dish was a standout for me and the dressing was exquisite.I did find however the service was a tad slow and food was sent out without thought and therefore out of sync with my fellow diners. As a result it was hard to start eating when others were still waiting for their main or their side of rice. This meant some food went cold.
Wow. Delicious top quality food. Stunningly presented and every mouthful was delicious.Bit pricey so will be a one off for me. But was definitely worth it for the experience. Some of the best food ive tasted.
Pretty unimpressive visit. Service was poor, particularly for the amount of staff they had working. Took ages to get our drinks. Venue isnt that special either, tables and chairs were uncomfortable and there wasnt much atmosphere. Not worth the expense
This the best Nobu I have been to. The great taste is consistent and the staff are very positive. The place is always busy and you can tell that all guests had a great experience on their way out. All dishes are amazing, yellow tail is significant here.
I enjoyed my time at Nobu, I definitely feel like it doesn’t compare to Portman Sq but maybe that’s just a personal preference. The Beef Toban Yaki is still a favourite, I didn’t enjoy the apple crumble this time round, the ice cream wasn’t served separately, so by the time I tucked in the crumble was a gloop of milk and apple pieces.Would definitely be going back to Nobu but maybe not this branch in particular.I do feel like the interior could do with a revamp giving its location too.
Interior very minimalistic and clean.Food fresh, delicious, and full of flavours. Wide choice of dishes, small plates, sharers, mains...Cocktails are amazing, beautiful presentation!Members of staff attentative to details.
I must say my first visit to Nobu was highly disappointing and will most definitely be my last. As a big foodie and lover of Japanese food, I had high hopes for the fusion dishes but instead, the food was bland, unimpressive and massively over priced. The sushi at my local has way more flavour and definitely more filling. I took my son for a birthday treat and it was absolutely not worth the price I paid. He had the spicy rib eye steak which looked nicer than it tasted and I had lobster and salmon tacos which was disappointing as it hardly had any seasoning. As it was my sons birthday, the restaurant stuck a candle on a piece of strawberry and wrote happy birthday with icing on a plate. We were then charged for the dessert on that plate. For over £100pp, I expected so much more. I’m actually baffled why it has so many positive reviews. The decor is like that of a cafe in a service station and the food substandard. The only positives were the service, the view and the cocktails. I guess it’s more about the exclusivity and the buzzy atmosphere but sadly not about the food. A very unsatisfying experience.
Brisk service in this very busy and noisy Japanese restaurant. When the staff warm up the service was good and the quality of the food was fine. The QR code was difficult to operate and getting a physical menu was hard work.
Good food, we tried the omakase menu, it was smaller then expected. 6 courses including an overdone chocolate fondant. The service was decent but they should spend some money on sound proofing. We were a party of 6 but we were unable to hear anyone that wasnt sitting right next to us.
Staff went out of their way to cater to my fussy eating habits which I greatly appreciate. Attentive but not too in your face. Food was very good, though not much range if you dont eat seafood. Pretty venue, but a bit of a pain to find via uber.
Fantastic business lunch, with great company.Ive heard so much about this restaurant and had hoped to come for some time. The menu is a little daunting for newbies, and the selection is large, but everything we had was exquisite.Only slight gripe was I had to ask for serving spoons with every course as we were sharing various plates and didnt wish to dig in with our chopsticks.Fantastic.
Nobu Nobu Nobu. I thought I was going somewhere completely different. Somewhere a little more refined, but as a good friend called it, ‘it’s like Wagamama for really really rich people’.I guess everyone has an impression of something In their head before they see or experience it and sadly, it really didn’t live up to the hype. And it really was like a Wagamama: noisy and busy, not a bad thing dependent on what you’re looking for. Service was lovely but overstretched. Menus all on mobile, sorry but for the price point it cheapens it. The setting - super dated and basic, the toilets, basically Wagamama. The food itself was great. So if you want good sushi etc go. But not if you don’t want to really PAY for good sushi. If you paid the same elsewhere would you go to say Hakkasan or similar? Absolutely yes. No competition. The whole experience warrants the outlay. Sadly Nobu didn’t for me.So overall good food sure, experience not great.
Fantastic Asian cuisine and novel drinks! Excellent menu options. Delicious sushi offerings, which are fresh and well prepared. Be sure to make reservations in advance, restaurant was crowded on a week nite! On the pricey side (££££but worth the splurge!
I had the lunch set menu, there actually wasnt a menu as such rather a waitress orating what we would be served. She had a mask on so it was very hard to understand her. When I was served raw sushi, which may come as a surprise I was not expecting I called the waitress over to explain I dont eat raw fish. She said it was too late to change, and I could not swap it for the vegetable sushi. The main arrived and sadly it wasnt much to write home about, lacked flavour and character. I ended up ordering lobster tempura on top of my meal, which actually was delicious hence Ive added an extra star. But I am amazed that I was made to pay for seafood sushi of which I ate nothing. I was refused an alternative and was not compensated in any way. Very dissapointing experience. Also absolutely no ambience here, looked like a canteen. Much better places available to eat in London.
Never had sushi before so thought I would give it a try! Oh my gosh it was amazing and my mock tail was the best drink Ive ever had everything was cooked with such love and care yes it is slightly pricey but theres a reason for it as you cant doubt the quality this place gives. Our server Christina was very attentive to detail explaining everything an amazing asset to the restaurant. We will be returning ❤️
In This Japanese restaurant and sushi place in London park lane we ate the best sushi I ever tasted than anywhere else among all the Nobu’s restaurants around the world and it’s even better than the Nobu Bahamas and miamiThe tartare of tuna and of salmon covered with caviar was out of this world also the soft shell crab and the dumpling and the sake and everything we ordered and enjoyed it at this lovely restaurant in the heart of London luxurious areaThis Nobu has become one of our favorite sushi places and we will be back for sure
not a big fan of the place. didn’t really have an ambience…maybe i’ve gotten used to all the neon lighting and flower walls at these other emerging eateries. the food was good but portions were minuscule and for me not very good value for money. extravagant dining at extravagant prices. only go if it’s a special occasion. we enjoyed the drinks but they cost a tenner each despite having no alcohol in them! I think our hosts thought we were there to order £300 worth of food between two people as there is apparently an order to ordering food. and you have to select a few dishes. we were on a budget thanks! kept getting told we hadn’t ordered much.
Amazing food as usual from Nobu, but the ambiance, decor and bathroom facilities bring this Nobu branch down and are not infitting with the rest of the chain. It feels as though this restaurant has been forgotten and unloved for some time and really brings my opinion of the brand down (no reinvestment in legacy locations). Give this restaurant a miss and try another branch (i hope one of the other London locations are better). After dining in the Monte Carlo & Las Vegas Nobu restaurants, I decided that we should probably try the original London location Nobu (old park lane). I booked this for my wifes birthday. As usual, the food was incredible, with the Black Cod, Yellow Tail Jalapeno and Tempura shrimp rolls being highlights. Followed by a lovely happy birthday plate accompanying our deserts. The Smokey Japanese Highball cocktail was also fantastic and our waitress was on point and really knew her products. What was not great:* The tables. These were like dining in a low end restaurant. Cheap looking and scratched.* The chairs. These have seen better days and were not comfortable* The toilets. After winding up and down stairs through a corridor that looks like a hospital, you end up at what I can only describe as pretty low end. No lovely hand towels, no lovely hand soaps. Broken sinks. Water on the floor.* No finger bowls or toweletts when serving spicey edamame with a sauce. Should you lick your fingers or wipe them on your napkin and look messy?* The most acidic and strange tasting tap water. After already purchasing £6 water for the table. I asked for a glass of water before leaving at the end of the meal. It was horrendously acidic and had a strange taste. I recommend they get this looked into.* The overall decor is very plain and dated and not at all infitting with the other Nobu locations that I have visited.Overall, this restaurant is great for the food, but if you want something special, try somewhere else (maybe another Nobu branch). Really disappointed. For the price, you can get 100x better ambiance and facilities at many other locations.I really wanted this to be as good as my visits to Monte Carlo & Las Vegas. Sorry.
Went to Nobu for the first time for a surprise bday my Mrs put together with 5 of my friends. Considering a lot of us havent seen each other for over a year, we were excited, chatting and lively. We were told to keep it down because we were "talking too loud" and also that we had 2 hours booking for our table though wed just only ordered starters. Considering there were many empty tables, we were shocked and werent happy about these comments but went ahead and ordered our food anyway. My Mrs even called them about the situation but reception was very rude on the phone.Food was nice and tasty and table service was good by the lady that served us but the experience was poor hence my score.
Definitely a must try! All three dishes were excellent and the service was amazing. Would particularly recommend the yellowfin jalapeno.
Food is amazing but the decor is awful here. Tbh I was expecting much more high standards for this brand. It was my first time here and I enjoyed food so much it was delicious you can feel every bit of taste.
A wonderfully unique dining experience, great menu with a variety of exquisite Japanese dishes. Exceptionally good service as well, taking great care to explain the whole menu, giving suggestions and making sure we were well taken care of. Very expensive, but you dont really get the same experience anywhere else.
Miso Black Cod at Nobu is the best cod I have ever had anywhere. The spicy tuna sashimi is excellent with minced fish on top, nothing like anywhere else. Finish with a classic chocolate bento box with green tea Ice-cream.
