Njaya Lodge - in Nkhata Bay, Malawi
The location is stunning with amazing views of the lake. We were well looked after by the staff, they were very attentive.Would recommend !
Njaya lodge is an amazing place where you can experience Malawis friendly atmosphere. The service is super, the view of the lake is superb, and the connection with local community is unique. Highly reccomend.
Was visiting for the first time and was not impressed with the place. The road was not very good and is build around the community which makes it less serene
Beautiful lodge with superb views of the lake, private beach, great food and above all, lovely staff!
Was great experience.Acomodation was good.Additionally, the private beach was awesome!!Ive ever seen such a beautiful lake and nice Beach.Much appreciate for employees.
If you are travelling solo, stop over here. Rest with lake lapping at your doorstep. Clean, safe and good food.Staff brilliant
Tried their Butterfish, my girlfriend finished the whole fish for herself, i have never see her eat that much. Brilliant fish.
We stayed, we didnt leave. We made it our base.. they looked after us like family. Staff could not have tried harder. Home cook fresh food, lazy days. Loved it..Many thanks we will return.
Enjoyable, relaxing vacation for the whole family, visited in August 2021. The chalets overlooking the water are amazing - spacious balcony and good setup of the rooms that gives you a wide view of the lake and a cool breeze right from your bed. Very friendly service as always. Food is good, love how they set up for you an eating area at the private beach or choice of room service. The manager was helpful, from checking on our travel progress via WhatsApp to make sure any orders are ready on our late arrival and periodic check ins during the course of the stay. The ambience is like a Mediterranean getaway.
Wow! Or as the locals say Wowa! Or Tsekatseka! An outstanding establishment.Nestled between the cascading hills and the deep blue lake, youll come upon this gem of the lake, Njaya Lodge.Njaya offers breathtaking views of the lake with Van Gogh coloured vistas, especially at sunrise and sunset.Paul, the owner, Gilbert, Dixon, Kingston and staff are most welcoming and accommodating for all your travel and holiday needs.Njaya Lodge is synonymous with Nkhata Bay and there is a marked difference to the southern and central part of the lake. Perhaps its the string of small bays that back up against an almost tropical landscape with lodges and habitats clinging to their elevated positions overlooking the lake. The Lodge itself has morphed dramatically since I was last here in 2003. It has grown and expanded up the hillside with a Mykonos style architecture that suits the heat and crystal clear waters. The greens are cold and the food is delicious.I can only highly recommend that travelers make the trek to this part of the lake to experience this perfect setting and experience. It will be well worth it.
The current website that says official website it is actually not. It is from hotelonline.co, that company do not trust them. We booked 3 weeks in advance before new years eve and they never sent the booking to the hotel and hold the money for the reservation. We still havent gotten our refund. The owner at Njaya was really helpful to support us and give us a room during high season so it would not ruin our holidays. The hotel is amazing and the staff even more. Just be aware on the website you use for booking and check with the hotel.
Njaya Lodge is a hidden gem in Nkhata Bay. I came to work in Mzuzu but opted to stay in Nkhata Bay. It is less than 45 minutes to Mzuzu. The food is excellent. The rooms are clean. Power is dual mains and solar (Solar shower and lights). Intended to stay one night but extended for the rest of my stay. Friendly and helpful staff. Dickson is the smiling face of the Lodge!
Absolutely stunning lodge in a perfect location. Food is fantastic... we had a slow roasted chicken which literally fell off the bone, on a beautifully set up table with lanterns and candles for a romantic dinner, with cocktails that went down far too easily, eased by breakfast in bed delivered by their awesome staff, Dixon and Gilbert! Perfect romantic get away! Thanks Njaya!
Very beautiful and like the kind people
Liked every bit of the stay..good customer service
Very aesthetically beautiful white lodge. My only challenge is its location. Seated next to Chikale beach, a public beach where a lot of events like music performance happen. It can get noisy and the beach fully packed. However, the lodge has private beach.Unless you dont mind the noise, avoid booking during public Holidays.
We stayed over in April 2021 and I cannot but recommend this lodge in the highest regard.Even the thought the food and scenery is fantastic, what makes this stand out from the rest is the impeccable service from Paul and his staff. We had coffee and tea delivered to our unit early morning, I presume after Paul noticed that we were active on Whatsapp and awake.
Njaya is such a nice place with neat beach and rooms. It has a great lake view and the beach is like a pool, great for swimmers. Their food is awesome
Beauty all round
We visited Njaya Lodge in Nov / 20 and had an amazing time. The staff worked hard to make sure we had delicious meals and a relaxing time. Dixon was amazing! We love the private beach and our room was overlooking the ocean. The boat trip to feed the fish eagles and snorkel was a highlight. This was our second visit to Njaya Lodge and we cant wait to return. We have four kids and they had the time of their life.
Great dining experience. Nice place for water games in Nkhatabay. Great bar with very nice mocktails
It was a lovely stay. Save for ants that invaded our spaces time and again. Lovely private beach, took a boat ride towards sunset, did some Fish Eagle feeding, snorkeling, it was phenomenal.
A good place if you wanna have fun surrounded by other people also just having fun, it gets too crowded by the beach during weekends mostly but hey... the more the merrier ....
I enjoyed my stay, however a little attention to detail would go a very long way
Thanks it was good
Really friendly and helpful staff ( Gilbert, Dixon and Justin are awesome!Great food, relaxed and comfortable atmosphere. Rooms are really nice with great views of the lake. The lodge has a private beach too!
The view and setting is gorgeous, but lodge management was not. Nothing was delivered as promised, internet is poor, frequent water and internet cuts, rooms are not sealed shut which allows insects and lizards to enter.
Good lodge for viewing the lake
Its absolutely stunning and dont forget the view
Had a lovely stay here, the place is neat, clean and they look after you well. They have a bar and serve good meals as well.
Great view great service
A bit rustic, but quiet and beautiful
Friendly staff. Amazing lake view. Rooms could use some air conditioning and television. Otherwise, spot on
Great views of lake malawi and very friendly staff
Lovely spot on the shores of Lake Malawi. Can fall asleep literally on the shore/beach in a lovely beach house. Great staff so friendly and accommodating - I arrived to Nkata Bay late (10.30pmand everywhere was full. Was directed to Nkata and despite being closed up for the night, night staff settled me I am room for the night. Breakfast not included but good value and nice. Lovely views and access to beach.
