Nissan Engine Museum in Yokohama

If you like a bit of car history and seeing car engines this museum is great. Definitely not for everyone but worth a visit otherwise. Its got a neat room on the history of Nissan with lots of little hot wheels type cars to look at as well.

子安から東の埋立地へ向かって行くと人家も商業施設も無い工場一色の工業地帯となる。こんな所にミュージアムがあるのかと不安に思いながら進んで行ったら着いたのは日産の工場だった。どうやら工場内にミュージアムがあるらしい。検問のガードマンに見学者証を貰いゲストホールに向かう。入るとダットサンがお出迎え。その奥にはGTR。だが展示の中心は車ではなくエンジン。歴代のエンジンが所狭しと並んでいる。2階に至ってはエンジンのオンパレード。私にはV6とかV12とかしか分からないが不思議と見ていてもつまらなくはない。エンジン一つ一つのデザインが大幅に異なっており前衛芸術のような美しさがある。特にGTRのエンジンは段違いの美しさ。入場無料だし見て損はない。ちなみになぜここに日産のミュージアムがあるのかというとここが日産発祥の地だからだという。納得。日産グッズが入っている自販機もあり。

平日に伺い見せて頂きました、マニア好みのエンジンが飾ってあり、スカイラインGTRも有り本当に良かったです。

自動車産業と歴史、それに並行して日産の歴史が分かる場所です。日産自動車の工場と工場に囲まれた所にあるので、初見ではちょっと分かりにくい所があります。当時のレーシングカーや特筆性の高い名車から、現行の高性能車種のエンジン実物が目の前でピックアップされて見られます。最初の建物の方ではリーフとGT-Rの実物も展示されていて、実際に乗り込みも出来ます。ビデオでは車一台が作られる工程も見られます。ビデオ含め、展示物一つ一つには英語翻訳も全て振られているので、日本語が分からない嫁でも楽しめました。恐らく日産ファンの外国人にも楽しめると思います。予約すれば工場内の見学も出来るようですので、非常に見応えがあります。駐車場も完備してるのに、全て込みで無料です。でも全て見てもそれほど時間は掛かりませんので、1日序盤のアクティビティとしても十分楽しめると思います。午前中にエンジンミュージアムで楽しんでから、午後に横浜、みなとみらいに抜けて中華街散策か、アクアラインを通って袖ヶ浦の海浜公園でまったりでも良いでしょう

ダットサンが可愛く出迎えてくれます！大変貴重なエンジンがズラリとならんでいます！が、私にはさっぱり解りませんでした(笑)車好きの同行者は大変喜んでいました。私はエンジンより年代物の建物が素敵でした！駅からは遠いですが無料なので一度足を運んでみてはいかがでしょう。レプリカでいいのでダットサンに乗れたらもっといいなと思いました。

歴史的な建物で日産の歴史(設立から今まで)が学べます。歴代のエンジンも展示されていて、マニアにはたまらない施設ですね。

生産中のエンジン工場とあって、入口からハードルが高いかと思いましたが、警備員の方にエンジンミュージアム見に来ましたと言うと、親切に案内して下さいました。建物は昔からの歴史を感じるモノでしたが、一階は半ば最新のＧＴＲが置いてあったり、今のモーター技術などを説明する展示など。昔のエンジンとかは、二階の展示に有り、クルマ好きはそちらに時間が取られるかと？！横浜方面のドライブなどで寄るのに良いです。

エンジンの展示のほかに、エンジンの仕組みの説明の展示もあって良い。可変圧縮比エンジンの仕組みは勉強になった。ただ、子供には展示内容が難しいかも。

この展示内容を無料で見られるのは大変有り難く思います。また入口の守衛さんも親切で気持ちよく見学出来ました。また行きたいと思います。

エンジンを通して日本の自動車史を身近に学べるのが良いです。建物もかつての日産本社だったそうで、建築学的にも価値の高い建物です。そんな施設を無料で提供している日産の姿勢は立派だと思います。日産は日本の自動車史のみならず、産業史に於いても莫大な遺産を残し多大な貢献をしてきたにも関わらず、官僚的な体質と社風が災いして経営が安定せず、トヨタはもちろんホンダの後塵を拝し、ルノーの軍門に下ったのは残念です。日産に必要なのは｢天皇｣と揶揄されたカリスマ経営者ではなく、全社員が一丸となって悪いイメージを払拭してもらいたいです。

Excellent experience

昭和の雰囲気たっぷりの建物、階段、そして昔欲しかった、廻したかったエンジンがずらり。エンジンが無くなりモーターに替わってしまうと思うと、感慨深いものがあります。最新のGTRのエンジンや、可変圧縮のエンジン展示もありました!

エンジンだけでなく日産や横浜工場の歴史が学べます。料金は無料です。建物は戦前に建てられており、この建物に行くだけでも個人的には価値がありました。車で行くのが便利かと思います。駐車場は無料です。

歴代の日産のエンジンの数々を歴史ある建物の中で眺める愉悦を堪能できる。万人受けはしないかもしれないが、入館料も無料で駐車場も近く、エンジン以外にも工夫を凝らした展示や車輌がある。ニスモやグローバルギャラリーにも近いので、一度来訪する価値は充分にあるだろう。

クルマ好き、メカ好き、エンジン好きさんなら一度は見てほしい博物館。博物館といっても日産の工場の一角なのでこじんまりと、静かにやってます。その分門番さんも受付さんもなんだかフレンドリーで緊張せず落ち着きます。建物自体も年季が入ってて一見の価値あり。今ではなかなかないとても状態の良い昭和時代の建物です。いろんなエンジン見れますけど2階にあるレース車のやつはほんとにデカい、デカすぎる笑展示室で80年代とかのTVCM流しててそれがまた堪らんです。

エンジンミュージアムへ行って来ました。平日のせいか貸切状態です。以前乗ってた車のエンジンも有りなんだか懐かしい感じがします。ミュージアムの建物も歴史があり一見の価値は十分にありました。ただ…興味が無い人は退屈だろうなぁ🥱万人が楽しめるところでは無いです。まさに…日産の車と同じ。好きな人には…とことん愛される😇

This place had a lot to see. The history of Nissan. Also the evolution of Nissan and the engines. It seemed as thought it was an add for Nissan as well.

Nissan Engine Museum is an collection of Engines of Nissan vehicles from the very first to now in use which is maintained by Nissan Automobile Company in Yokohama. A very Recommended place to visit for a vehicle lover once you visit Japan!

Not the biggest but for a free attraction you can complain plus get to sit in a GTR

If you enjoy cars, specifically engines, this is a must-see place!

The Nissan engine Museum consists of lots of Nissan engines to view . You can book a tour via the website which they will bring you into the engine manufacturing plant to see how the engine is assembled but photography is not allowed

You don’t see much things in there! If you compare with BMW and Mercedes museum! Also the factory is relatively insufficient with assembly engines!

Not many cars, but a lot of engines are displayed in renovated old factory building from 1934. For petrolheads with time it is a must see!

A very comprehensive museum for Nissan engine. Free entrance. No crowd at all even I went on Saturday.

A must visit place for everyone with even the slightest interest in automotive history. Hands on displays and video presentations insure you walk away smarter then you came in!

Beautiful! I love Nissan and the engines even more! I love the RB26, its my favorite! They are lots of fun! Cant wait to visit this place and explore and learn even more!

Very good place to visit and discover Nissans history and engines, staff is very friendly in helping, and the museum is extremely organised. A must visit place for all car-lovers visiting Japan.

Never ever in my life, thinking I will have a chance to visit a automobile factory. Indeed, this is interesting place. The hand robot will draw you a picture, anyway!

Its a nice place to go to if your a engine fan but make sure to reserve for the tour (,you cant do walk-in toursAs the building is just 2 stories.

this is a very small museum. they have a nice collection of engines from past racing teams and a few cars on display. there was nobody there, at all, when we visited, so we just went in and looked around. it’s free and it isn’t something i would plan a whole day around, especially if you’re coming in from tokyo or somewhere other than yokohama. if you’re going to the nismo museum, this is about a 20 minute walk from there.

沢山のエンジンが見学できて楽しかった。この日は運動も兼ねて最寄り駅のJR新子安駅から歩きました、多分20分ほどで到着したと思うのですが、この日は気温が高く工場地帯で景色も変わらないので結構長く感じました。日産横浜工場の入り口でエンジンミュージアムを見学したい旨伝えると、右手に見える建物を案内され、そのままミュージアムに入る事ができました。正式には横浜工場ゲストホールという施設らしく看板には、エンジンミュージアムと書かれてませんでした。入り口を入ると受付の女性に、入館無料な事と帰りに受付に寄ってアンケートに答えて下さいと言われました。アンケートに答えた時、記念のポストカードを頂きました。昔、自動車学校で見た様な懐かしいエンジンから最新のもの果ては、モータースポーツ用のスーパーエンジンまで、メカ好きの方にはオススメのミュージアムです。二階には、パネルや模型、エンジン部品や当時のエンブレムなどの展示で、日産と横浜工場の歴史について学ぶ事が出来ます。楽しかったし、予約をすれば工場見学なども出来る様なので機会が有ったら又来てみたいと思いました。
