Serene Japanese garden with a variety of blooming flowers, a small pond & a playground.
What gorgeous gardens. My favorite time to visit is October with the multitude of changing colors.
I shouldve gone earlier when the flowers were in bloom, but I didnt. It was really pretty anyway.
So well designed! Lots of surprising spots!
Beautifully designed and maintained very well. It was so peaceful. My handicapped โฟ๏ธ mother was able to get around and enjoyed it too.
I have always loved the Japanese gardens. These are the most beautiful Japanese gardens I have visited. I discovered my love of drawing here and have drawn many parts of the garden over a thirty year time period. It has been my sanctuary over these years. Thank you for producing and maintaining this priceless gift.
We visited it while at the park it is a part of. Nice to walk around in. Beautiful plants, flowers and landscaping.
Easy walk, beautiful. No dogs allowed. They are allowed in Manito Park, just not in these gardens.
Small, tranquil Japanese garden, well maintained and so peaceful. Lovely koi swimming lazily in the pond. Simply a beautiful place to relax and enjoy nature.
A quiet and beatiful place. Koi pond and sitting spots available. Can be busy at times but usually fairly empty.
Theres an aura here, no joke. Its quiet and serene, even with lots of people there. Just how you would imagine it should be. Beautifully manicured. Definitely worth the stop.
This is an absolutely gorgeous garden and itโs incredible how few people are here on the weekend. It is a free park so I thought it would be extremely crowded but I was pleasantly surprised. Loads of wildlife including turtles, fish, birds, and bees. I highly recommend swinging by for the evening and exploring the multiple gardens throughout this park.
Garden was beautiful, but the water was all scummy and the bigger fish looked sick. Even the small ones were looking rough.
So peaceful . It is truly amazing to find this gem in Spokane. I could sorrento the day just taking it in. Beautiful and well maintained .
I loved going here when I was younger w my mom and grandma...but nowadays it looks rly bad. The water is so murky you really cannot see the fish...there is gunk floating on the top...Their used to be a bunch of flowers and other things too but not now... I hope they fix the water up someday. Ill come back but was definitely disappointed this time ):
Beautiful coi pond, waterfall places to rest.or meditate beside the waterflow. Mama duck surrounded by 10 or more day old chicks! It was lovely!
Its opened back up and as beautiful as ever. The fall is most gorgeous but still lovely and serene to enjoy.
So beautiful and lush. Goid place to escape life foe a bit and unwind.
Beautiful place! Very relaxing atmosphere.
Love this garden so much. Its my happy place.
Beautiful place! There is flowers along the edge and a beautiful pond. There is a bridge that are really beautiful also. Great place for photos. Also beautiful to take kids to play and have a picnic. Did engagement photos here, they turned out beautiful. Parking is a mess though.
Lovely gardens. Personally my favorite. I do wish they cap the number of photo shoots there as I go weekly and always pictures being taken. I remember back in the 90s when you could walk up around the tall waterfall and to the other island. Very well maintained considering all the visiting traffic.
Absolutely spectacular. Loved every minute. Only wish it had not been raining. These are so tranquil and beautiful.
Absolutely beautiful and full of peace ๐ excellent opportunities for photography
Absolute peace and beauty that will inspire relaxation and becoming one with nature! There are plenty of places to sit to look and listen to the magical musical soundtrack that is created by water, wind, and birds!
Very lovely park. Felt very relaxed walking around it. Love how clean it is kept.
Beautiful park. Go in autumn when colors are popping.
Beautiful Garden, Have been here in Spring and Fall, Never disappointed. Make sure to bring a camera.
So incredibly beautiful. This place is magicalโ it smelt glorious when we went. We just stopped to sniff LOL. The garden is lovely, definitely come in the fall if you can. The colors are unmatched.
Nice place! Quiet. Will be back in the summer or spring. Maybe even winter?
Was a nice day trip to visit Manito Park. Lots of dogs on the walking trails, But they are not allowed in the japanese garden part. That is ok, the rest of the park is good sized. It was a quaint little area. Lots of great photo opportunities. Nearby there is a pond with waterfowl & interesting artwork built into grates. Benches to sit on. Further past the first parking area you keep driving & can park on the side of the road. It is next to the Lilac Gardens.
Finally reopened! What a Beautiful day... If youre looking for a lovely place to take a walk and immerse yourself in some nature, this is a great place to go!
Got married at this beautiful garden ๐ this place has been special to me and my wife for so long and I cant believe we got to get married here! So many memories
Peaceful Japanese garden.. beautiful views. We spent our sunny afternoon here.. it was very peaceful. Kids loved watching fish in the pond.we had a great time
Well maintained, free to enter, and a joy to show others. Inspect the bridge closely as you pass and you may spot stray fish pellets to brush into the koi pond for a photo opportunity!
Got to meet up with my high school best friend and we visited the Japanese Garden. Beautiful place, even on a rainy day like the day we visited. Its small so easy to see it all but if you like the Japanese Garden style, youll like this one too!
The fish are huge! What a great experience to go and see with the family. My kids, especially my boys were hesitant and not wanting to go at first. However, they didnt want to leave even after being there for over a half an hour!
Simply lovely! Peaceful and serene, with bridges, lanterns, walking paths, benches overlooking koi ponds, waterfalls, tree-canopied pergolas, and a gazebo. Situated within Manito Park, and walkable to the never-ending Duncan Gardens and Greenhouse, Rose Hill and the Park Bench Cafรฉ, whose huckleberry ice cream is worth the indulgence. The Nishinomiya Japanese Garden is not to be missed!
Super pretty. Great place to walk around of youre in the area. This is just a small part of the manito park but I love it. The coy fish are fun too.
We were waiting to go to this place since December of 2020. It was closed temporarily do to renovations. Its very small, we were surprised.. great for little ones. I would go there early morning just to have it all to myself and enjoy their little garden. ๐
This is a truly beautiful place. Well worthy of your time, and a quiet visit, but unfortunately it is located right off Bernard, which is a very loud and busy street, and the park itself is often very busy after 9 am. If you are seeking serenity to match this peaceful garden, go just after sunrise, especially on the weekend. When traffic cooperates, you will have about an hour of solitude to restore your soul. If this were at the center of Manito park it would be a solid 5 out of 5.
I didnt know this place was even here, but Im sure glad we stopped cause it is beautiful! The ducks are friendly and the fish are super big! It was cool!! ๐
Beautiful, meditative tranquil vibe. Listening to the water in this cool, fresh smelling peaceful place is amazing. The artistry involved in making the landscape is notable. Highly recommend making a stop here if you want to quietly unwind.
The gardens are so relaxing, and exquisitely beautiful. I was insanely disappointed that many disrespectful, selfish, destructive, attention seeking idiots must come here too. The inside of the last structure in the park is beautiful on the outside and carved with ugly initials and names in the inside. Who does this?? I wish people like that would stay home and ruin their own garbage life. Other than deep disappointment in humans that destroy beauty; we were enchanted by the masterful art that is this garden. Many thanks to the people who keep this park beautiful.
It is a cozy garden, meant for quiet meditation/observation, but people dont get that even though it is posted right outside; if I could be there where there arent people acting like tourists with their children then I wouldve enjoyed it more.
Beautiful and peaceful haven. There is all levels of walking - short, handicap accessible, bits & pieces or the whole park. I love it. Clean bathrooms. I think 3 to 7 year old children - would be enchanted and run their little legs tired.
The garden was not huge, but beautiful and serene. There were some large koi in the pond that my 2 year old loved.
Beautiful representation of Japanese gardening concepts. Well thought out, outstanding examples of Japanese Maples, reflecting pond and even a wood bridge. On the smaller side but for the price tag of $0, thats right zero dollars, you wont hear any complaints from me ๐
A very Lush beautiful well-kept Japanese garden with Bridges and koi and that peaceful Ambience that makes you just want to sit and meditate in your Zen. There is also bathrooms on site and it is wheelchair accessible. The only downside to it is that theres not a lot of parking
This place is very clean and well manicured. Different colors and the koi are so friendly, large and small ones. Trickling water and a cute bridge over the pond. Great place for family pictures, prom or wedding. Canโt go wrong and a must see when visiting this area!
We make it a habit to wander the garden on trips to Spokane. The seasons bring out different effects. Fall may be the prettiest, but the overcast early spring day made me feel like I was in Japan, having twice been there. It is a rainy country and they have a way of making beauty out of shape and situation from ordinary objects, not dependent on blue skies. That is what I saw today.
