I love this resturant! Great authentic food boasting with flavours in so many different dishes. The portion sizes compared to the price are generous. I would suggest the fish pakor, it is to die for! Despite how many Indian resturants I try, I always find myself coming back to Nishas Kitchen.

Id rate this restaurant zero, if I could. I ordered a Keema Naan and a Chicken Tikka Masala. The Keema Naan didnt have any keema in it. It was basically a lump of dough that was flattened and thrown into an oven. The Chicken Tikka Masala contained fibrous chicken with onions and bell peppers thrown in. The food tasted like garbage. When I called the shop to complain about the food, they said OK which sounded like they dont care.

Very flavourful and tasty food, great customer service.Last week I asked for a customized option, and they were nice enough to accommodate. I had the vindaloo with Goat meat. Best vindaloo I’ve ever had. I also had some goat biriyani. Delicious!!! Very recommended 💜

Horrible food , both the times I bought , it’s unimaginable. Biriyani and pulav are pathetic. Waste of money . I would never recommend these two dishes here .

Not worth your time. Naan was chewy and butter chicken tasted like sugary tomato soup. I make better at home.Go to grand mehfil instead.

Please take it as a constructive feedback !This was first time I ordered from here, I ordered 4 garlic naan & 1 lachha prantha. I have never seen naan and prantha so thick. Seemed as thick as a burger bun. Couldn’t eat it and wasted. These guys might have other menu items worth trying but my experience was not at all as expected.

We enjoy their quality foods, variety of menu items, and the proprietor and staff are pleasant...However, as I sit outside the restaurant about to go inside to order, another customer has entered, carrying their mask while talking on the phone...They have been inside for over 12 minutes now and are still not wearing their mask and staff have not enforced the mask mandate...All the while this customer paces about, talking on their phone not wearing a mask!

I ordered "Chefs special" chicken 65, which was not even half of the container, and left a big puddle of oil. The chicken I got, was 7.5 pieces of chicken in tomato gravy. I would NEVER insult is by calling it a butter chicken. I wont even get into the portion for it. Garlic naan was definately from yesterday and extremely chewy.I am not sure about people who think this was the best butter chicken they have ever had( you havent had butter chicken yet). I hope someone sees this and chooses a better place to get some food!😒.Extremly dissatisfied, Garbage food!

we order delivery through skip the dishes and got spring roll, punjabi mix veg and kadhai paneer. Both of the dishes was not cooked properly. Spring roll did’t looks fresh and very bad in taste. we will never order again from that place because of the poor food quality.

We ordered delivery through Skip the Dishes. We got the Chicken Korma, Bhenghan Bharata (eggplant), garlic naan, and the Ghajar Ka Halwa (grated carrot dessert). The dishes dont come with rice, but we ordered one rice and it was more than enough for two people. The main dishes were delicious and the naan was perfect. The carrot dessert was not our favourite, but it was very unique and Im glad we tried it.

Continually well prepared, tasty and plentiful take out meals. The service is always friendly and accurate. The pakoras are excellent as is the palak paneer. In fact every vegetarian meal tried has been a pleasant experience. Highly recommended.

Ordered Korma and it was a sheer disappointment. Qorma has a thin flavourful gravy with an aroma that makes it irresistible. Unlike, it was a weird blend of some strange spices I have never associated with qorma. It rather tasted like a boneless Handi with undercooked chicken. CHICKEN WAS LITERALLY UNDERCOOKED! my bad, I ordered from Nisha’s but guess what? You make a mistake ONLY ONCE!Update:Just found out here after reading reviews that Nishas kitchen is notoriously known for serving undercooked meat for 2 years now. It means they have the audacity to not to improve the quality for something they are most complained about! ZERO STARS!

Got takeout. Tikka Masala tasted like spicy tomato soup and naan was tough and thick. “Amateurish” is the word that came to mind while eating it. Things were sort of there, but came up short across the board. You’d be better going to Sahar’s Kitchen or Flame House if you’re looking for good Indian food.

Delicious food picked up Christmas Eve! We throughly enjoyed our feast! Everyone was raving how good it was. Pakoras were a favourite. The dal tarkha was mouthwatering. Loved the aloo gobi too. When I picked up our order our naan was being made while I watched.Looking forward to our next order!

This is by far the best Indian in the KW area and I have tried them all. My reason for trying them all was the search for a great Saag. Not only is the Saag excellent but other favourites like the Korma ,Vindaloo, and chicken Samosas are great. I have only ordered take-out but from what I have experienced so far the service has been great with even the kitchen staff greeting you with a friendly hello. One final point addresses the portion sizes, theyre perfect! You will never complain that you paid too much for what you got! Great food!!......***update November 2020*** still my go to place for Indian, highly recommend this place!!

I ordered the butter chicken lunch combo and it did not disappoint!!! The chicked was cooked well and the sauce was not killed with spices. The butter Naan bread was some of the best Ive ever eaten. A little pricy for the portion size but overall a great experiance.I would not hesitate to reccomend Nishas Kitchen for a good Indian meal.

We regularly order Nishas Kitchen, mainly for their super delicious butter chicken. It is so flavourful, creamy, and a generous portion size. We also love the garlic naan (worth the extra money!and each order of naan comes with 2 generous pieces. Definitely recommend eating here (to go).

We got take out and the whole experience was great. The veggie pakora was amazing and the vindaloo was a great spice level with my request for extra spicy. The menu only says chicken vindaloo but they were more than happy to swap that to lamb for me. It was some of the best naan I have had and the malai kofta we ordered was great as well.

I have searched and searched for food like this for YEARS! The only restaurant to come close to what I used to eat the UK.It was the first time my family and I had take out from here and the food was fresh, fragrant and cooked perfectly. I loved everything especially the GOBI 65!!Service was fast for take out and the people were friendly and super swift! This is our new spot and I will be trying all new dishes next time we order, which is probably today! :)

Best Indian food Ive had in KW. Make sure you specifically ask for spicy, especially if you get the vindaloo. Great service too, I was really craving goat vindaloo which isnt on their menu but they were willing to make it regardless

Ordered 2 butter naans and 1 Chicken tikka masala.Chicken was undercooked. So it was inedible. There were only 2tbsp of sauce in the masala. Poor quantity. How can anyone eat even half a naan with such little amount of sauce.Certainty overpriced for what they offer. Not going back again.

Only got takeout, but from a UK guys perspective it is the best curry I have had in Canada, and I have searched believe me!Their chicken/gobi 65 is a thing of beauty and their naans are perfect. They offer solid madras, vindaloo and korma, and their less typical curries are amazing too.If you are a Brit (or anyonewho loves curry, this is the place you want.

I ordered lamp Biriyani, and the quantity was decent, but not great for a 13.99 dish. I was straggling to find the little meat cubes. But i have to say this rice was okay. i will think twice about ordering something from there again.

I can absolutely recommend the Samosas, but i would suggest changing the fries or taking them off the menu completely. They were just not very good, sorry to say. The value ($13for two samosas and butter chicken poutine (couldnt eat the frieshas left me hungry and out of budget for my lunch today.

The appetizers are great, but the curries Ive ordered (twicewere incredibly off taste. On the first occasion, the Karhai Paneer was really salty. On the second occasion, the Palak Paneer was really bland with spinach leaves still not pureed/mashed properly and lacking salty, and the Dal Makhani was just completely off (it was bland, lacked spices, and tasted like tomato puree with dal). The Naan is very chewey too. The only positive was the Paneer Pakoras, which I ordered on both occasions and enjoyed.

I order out from nishas whenever I want Indian. It is super good. I love the Chana masala, the vindaloo is actually hot, the pakoras are great, the naan is outstanding (probably best in the region). In groups above 3 people Id suggest ordering a dish variety and sharing. Ordering through skip the dishes is fast and effective and reasonably priced. Will continue to call this my primary Indian food place. My only negative is the ambiance. The interior of the restaurant isnt particularly commendable, but I go there for food or scenery, and the food is top shelf.

Weve ordered from Nishas Kitchen quite a few times now. At first (over a year agothe food was great. The food has consistently been going down hill since. We have now taken Nishas Kitchen off our list of places to go. Today was the last straw. Every dish we ordered was bland, watery and had no flavour. The butter chicken tasted like a can of Campbell’s tomato soup.We will be looking elsewhere for Indian Cuisine moving forward.

Really bad..... Wed ordered butter chicken medium spicy and Dal makhani, I think they forgot to put the spices and there was not even salt....it was some orange kinda thing , not even cooked properly it was just raw tomato puree... Food was really bad, but the Dal makhani was ok still it lacked butter. When we informed them they were not even concerned and they were more concerned of the closing time of the restaurant not about its customers!! So bad!

Got takeout, all of which was fresh, warm, and ready when we came in 35 minutes later as suggested. The staff was prompt and courteous.Spicier than Ive been used to getting in the region, but enjoyed the distinct variation in taste between dishes (and overall lovely flavours), reasonable portion/price ratio (no skimping on meat or other items just because its takeout), care put into packing up the meal for pickup, and the clarity of the menu provided on their website. Many Indian restaurants Ive dealt with have poor menu descriptions, seemingly limited selection, or as someone unfamiliar with the foods it can be confusing, etc.. Not here! Every item is labelled clearly and described well. Surprised I didnt find mango lassi listed, but asking over the phone, they do have it.Another note is the distinctly different dishes. Even when ordering supposedly different items at other places, Ive found dishes will have very similar flavour profiles, textures etc. which can be rather unsatisfying. At Nishas they were careful to let each dish have something all its own. Eg. The mutter paneer has small seeds, providing a pleasing textural contrast.Would suggest ordering the buttered naan, as opposed to the plain - while delicious and fresh, as it cools you may regret not having the added moisture.Lastly, I was happy with the takeout bag - many places locally appear to think that since they arent plating, presentation makes no difference and no effort needs be made. Pleased to find that each container was sealed tidily and stacked conveniently in its bag. No worries about spills, and the food inside was kept warm and visually appealing all the way home.

I and my wife went there for Dinner. The inside ambiance is good and cozy. I am foodie, specially for Biryani. I ordered their Lamb Biryani but the quality of Biryani disappointed me very much. The taste and quality do not justify the price of the food. My wife ordered Naan and chicken 65. I like the quality of Naan but it was served almost cold. Their signature dish chicken 65 also does not justify the name. There is a scope of improvement in serving also. Its a good restaurant which has lots of potential to do good but needs some careful work in food quality and serving the food.

I went to this place twice and it was a mixed experience. I used the groupon both the times. They mentioned I could use it only for dine in. I found the food good compared to the Indian restaurants we have in kitchener- waterloo area. Also pricing is reasonable. The second time we went there, we was pretty late. Reached there almost by closing time. Although they took us in, the food quality was bit compromised. The chicken pieces were not well cooked. So i would definitely suggest go there early. I found Madras chicken curry and chilli paneer nice. They definitely need to do a lot of improvement on service quality and courtesy towards customers.

I bought their Groupon ($25 worth of fooddeal a couple days ago and decided to visit the restaurant yesterday. It didnt specify that the deal cant be used during dinner hours on the fine print, but we were told that we could only use it Tues - Friday 11-2pm. After talking to the waitress for more than five minutes, they finally decided to honor the deal. We were told that theyve put up signs outside of the restaurant, but trust me I didnt see any before going in... The food was mediocre but the service didnt compensate much. I finished eating my portion and was chatting with my partner while he was still in the process. To our surprise, the waitress and the owner brought the bill to our table w/o us asking. She directly pulled out the POS machine and rushed us to pay for the bill... It was so bizarre and uncomfortable. We felt like they were really trying to get us out of the door while there was no other customers in the restaurant. In conclusion, I dont think I will go back to this place and Empress of India is way way better...

I want to preface this review by saying the food tasted very good, and I will go back based on that alone. However, food is not the only factor when picking a restaurant for dine-in or take-out.I ordered take-out, was told 35-40 min, and showed up after about 30 minutes. There was one other pick-up before mine, and the place was empty. Was told it would be another 5 minutes. Those 5 minutes turned into 20. Fine, maybe everything is prepared fresh, no biggie, but dont lie about it. If its going to take 20 minutes, tell me 20 minutes, not 5, Im not stupid.Well, when I got the food home, part of the order was stone cold. While it tasted good, I cannot help but wonder how much better it would have tasted had it been at the correct serving temperature. My point is this: good food can be found anywhere in this town. We have an abundance of great eateries. The one distinction between a 3-star review and a 5-star review is the quality of the service. You may serve the greatest food in the whole province, you will still go out of business if you cannot provide great service.Update: Since my original review, they have hired a dedicated waitress, and the service has improved greatly, so they get one more star.

I found this little Indian restaurant tucked away quiet neighborhood Id never been to before, and Im so glad I did! It is quickly becoming a new favorite. The food is excellent for such a reasonable price, the atmosphere is quiet and casual, and the service friendly and helpful. They serve traditional Indian food but also have some interesting fusion items, like the butter chicken poutine my partner absolutely loved. We didnt wait longer than you would expect for good food either.

The food was good however ambience and customer service could use some work. We ordered 2 of the main dishes which were good but we werent told that the rice is separate. Also the room is bright and along the windows its very cold. Turn the lighting down, paint the walls a soft colour instead of stark white and add candles to the tables. Little things like this would make a difference. Also I think the server should have to tie their hair back. I hope they do well but the place was empty except for 2 tables and one takeout when we were there last night.
