Pretty nice area for a hike with multiple trails. Better to go when on the dry side as it can get muddy. Also, lots of elevation changes here so be prepared.

Nine Times Preserve, located above Pickens, South Carolina, is a great place for a moderate hike. It is located along the Eastatoee Creek just south of scenic Highway 11. There are a couple smaller creeks along the way, with a smaller waterfall. The trail has a few nice climbs and descents, which makes it a decent workout. There a few parking areas and three separate sections that you can hike.

Nine Times Preserve lies at the intersection of South Carolina’s Southern Blue Ridge Mountains and its piedmont region, where mountainous terrain begins to slope into gentler hills. Black bear, peregrine falcons and freshwater trout are just a few of the species you may find on this incredibly biologically significant property.

When someone tells you to take a hike, this is a peaceful place to do so. I wish they would allow horses on these trails.

Went here on a whim with nephews and my son ages 18, 13, and 5. I believe they have 3 trails as of right now. It was beautiful even with the trees not yet full of leaves. The trail we took was very hard for myself and my 5 year old. The boys are I better shape and did great, but it wore them out. The trail splits and gets confusing, but well worth it.

Ive hunted there for 18 years and dont believe its right for people to be walking during hunting season. Especially the fact that they dont pay an annual fee as we hunters do for our license, and the fact that not a one of them I seen had a lick of orange on. Theres plenty of state park land they can walk and that land we cant hunt. So I guess we should be able to hunt state parks . Everything has changed since the rich people as people put it, moved in at the reserve and vineyards! We hunters only get 4 months a year to do what we enjoy doing and pay our fees for using it, us hunters spend more than those mushroom pickers do in revenue and dont believe its fair that we put our time in to hunting ,most getting to where we are going to hunt way before daylight and dont appreciate people walking in on us and ruining our hunt.

Great walk, but go up from the main parking area - it is not as steep as going up from the western end. New trail along the creek on the other side of the road makes for a good loop.

Best unknown place in Pickens County! Trails are well maintained and new trails are going in. If you are a Climber, this place has it all.

We hiked the Cedar Rock trail. It’s about 4 mile out and back.Zoom in to Google and you can see that the trail has been mapped. There will be an uphill 400’ climb on this hike if you hike from east to west. It’s off-road parking and can be limited on a crowded day. Luckily, not a lot of people know about this trail yet.Trail is not well marked and maintained (hence the three stars ratings. Five stars for the fall scenery thoughbut you have good cell phone signal throughout most of the trail so you can use that for navigation.Have fun!

Small preserve off the side of the road. Two forest road entrances, one from each side, access a small hiking trail loop. As of November 2015 there were a few fallen trees and signage is in poor condition. Supposedly a good place to view some forms of rare wildlife. Lower quality hike compared to other options in this area.
