Nick's diner - Diner in Allentown, United States
The food was absolutely gross. My steak tasted like liver.... overly priced for not good food. Our waitress was pretty nice and it was a nice place but do not recommend because of the food. was very disappointed
My ham and cheese omelette had many eggs shels in it and the has browns were cold and greasy.
Delightful surprise! We intended on going to a different diner but it wasn’t open as listed so we found this diner. What an amazing surprise! The food was delicious. I had the cream chipped beef and it was so good. Their home fries are some of the best I’ve had. We have found our new diner spot around work!
Fairly busy when I went but the waitress was very attentive and ran around like a crazy person. But she got the job done. Food was good had breakfast so cant really complain. Although I didnt like that they put the butter on the side so my toast was cold with no butter. Still reccomend the Trivet the food was good and service was also.
Beautiful interior and exterior. Food was great. Employees were awesome!!!!
I come to the tribute diner for breakfast really never had their dinners but they have a good breakfast theyre reasonable quick and friendly staff highly recommended
The prices are reasonable and the food was good. The waitresses are very attentive and the atmosphere is family friendly. Nothing like a home cooked meal when your out for dinner.
Okay ,food only ate there once.Have to wait for awhile but I would try again.Good waitress.
Visited on Labor Day, and the staff was not the friendliest. Hostess was very efficient with the number of guests that were there. Food was decent, much like described in previous reviews.
Very empty for a Sunday evening. Waitress was a great young girl, smiled and very courteous. Food was good. Prices arent bad.
I ordered the chicken parm. It was really good, 2 fresh breaded chicken breasts.. Could tell It wasnt frozen
Never had a bad meal here. Waitress are great especially Toni
Great food, a beautiful diner, and the staff is beyond wonderful 😊
The cheese fries here are AMAZING!
Service very good, food was very good -I had trivet specialty burger with frys- food comes out fast8/11/22 second visit - service very good had the same burger got frys with gravy cheese- gravy is disgusting. Will definitely skip it next time. Attention owner do something with the gravy get your act together.
Friendly staff. Great location. Usually love the food, except when I tried a new lunch item the Monte Cristo. It had too much cheese over some very good London broil. The read was too much also. Recommended they drop this item from menu.
Good service, delicious meals, and really low prices. It can get a bit crowded though
Service is super fast and fantastic! Staff is friendly. Cant complain about anything here! Just looking forward to my next visit 😁👍
Good food. Good service. Good atmosphere. Reasonable prices.
Great diner. Well maintained, great food, friendly staff. We eat there often.1st time back since the pandemic and it was as good as ever. We had a large party and the service was excellent, the food was outstanding as usual. We hope to go more often again.
We are in the area for the Kutztown Folk Festival. Weve had breakfast twice and have been very happy. My husband had chipped beef on toast yesterday and sausage gravy on biscuits today. I had the early bird special of 2 eggs with bacon, hash brownpotatoes and raisin toast. Service was quick and our waitresses were very pleasant. Prices were good...both of us ate for under $20. No wait to be seated. We recommend the Trivet Diner.
Standard diner fare. Good coffee and a decent omelet with home fries. Staff was friendly and attentive.
Mediocre food terrible service. Especially the two people at the front desk. The bold guy and the blonde lady! Never going back again!
Stopped here for breakfast and it was a very pleasant experience. I had a breakfast quesidella and could not finish the large portion. My companion had the cheese steak omelet and rated it as excellent. Saw some crumb fruit pies on the way out. Definitely will try one on my next visit . Only negative is accessing Tighman Street when leaving. Heading southbound is not a problem but heading northbound can be.
When is a Spartan breakfast not spartan? When you get it at Trivet. The food was absolutely delicious, the staff were all friendly and jovial. Definitely a great breakfast spot!
First time here. My wife and i got seated the waitress was polite. We ordered 2 raspberry teas. Placed our orders in. Chicken parm with French fries, salad with ranch dressing. I ordered a cheese burger with fries. Appetizer mozzarella sticks.Salad came out first it was warm and everything was rubbery. The packets of ranch was warm. We sent the entire salad back untouched. It was terrible.Mozzarella sticks came next, the sticks were decent. Breading was good. However the sauce was awful. It was like a paste and it had a truly terrible aftertaste. Then the main courses came out. My wife ordered the chicken pqrm and was already concerned now of the sauce due to the mozzarella sticks. She was right.. she tried it and of course the sauce was just terrible. A strong paste and terrible after taste. She only ate her fries and 3 bites of the parm.I got the burger. My meal wasnt terrible overall the burger was decent. Cooked the way I wanted and anything with enough ketchup and mayo on it can be fairly decent. We clearly had a problem with the food, we clearly made it known, we sent back very large portions of food that was barely touched. Nothing was done. The staff didnt say anything, the owner walked around and didnt do anything.Needless to say my family and I wont ever come back to the restaurant. During the time of sitting there my wife and I read through the reviews and its clear that a once good restaurant has fallen. Reading through them clearly shows that many people feel the same way about the food and establishment overall.
Service and speed was exceptional, sausage gravy was plain. I spent many years down south and love my sausgae gravy, this was adequate yet I have had better.
Breakfast was good, however i had ordered a blueberry muffin for my 2 year old to go. On the way out i noticed it was moldy. I went back in to let them know quietly cause I know things happen. She proceeded to roll her eyes and just handed me my money back. She was unapologetic and acted like she couldnt care less. I will not be visiting this diner again.
Good service and friendly staff. Expect the menu to be similar to other diners in the area. Lots of Greek options. I tried the Monte Cristo for breakfast and it wasnt half bad!
Trivet is okay. The portions are big and the price is reasonable. Susan had stuffed peppers which were great! I had the grilled chicken breast with cranberry chutney. Unfortunately, the chutney was extremely sweet and over everything. I should have sent it back, but I ate one of the delicious stuffed peppers.
The servers were so kind and the appetizers hit the spot after a long trip! Visoula did a great job serving us!
I didnt like the fact that they would not substitute anything for the potato chips. Also they would not allow my friend and I to split the check on two credit cards. Other than that the food was good.
Im sorry. I support local businesses but I dont think I will come back to this Diner. For 1. The menu..... Ummm yeah a lot of items they were out of. 2 My daughters dad ordered meatloaf with mash/gravy and he wanted mixed veggies and of course they only thing they had was corn. When his food was brought out I literally thought they brought him 2 sliced of wheat bread with a scoop of ice cream. It was so dry that he had to pour gravy on it. He even said the gravy tasted nasty. I just had sunny side up eggs, bacon, toast and watered down coffee. So our server asked if I would like a refill on my coffee and I said yes please and she said okay Ill be right back with your coffee........ Im still waiting on my refill and its the next day. My daughter had French fries and chicken tenders, her food looked as if I just went into a supermarket and purchased a bag of French fries and just tossed them into hot oil to fry, pulled them out and serve them. Now Im dont want to downgrade this establishment at all. I know that the pandemic caused a lot of businesses to lose a lot of money so therefore they try not to get rid of unused food/products, however Im this case they make too darn obvious because I have never seen meatloaf as dry as a slice of wheat bread.
Amazing food, great service.
The staff was very courteous and kind. The food was very good I had the chicken marsala excellent my buddy had the special on the stuffed peppers excellent as well the homemade coleslaw was some of the best I ever had.
A great old-style DINER!! Food is excellent, huge portions, wait staff impeccable, humorous, personable!! Also fabulous prices. If you dont take advantage of this great meal choice youre REALLY depriving yourself. DEFINITELY GO & ENJOY!! 💕🙏
Nice atmosphere, waitress was sociable and attentive. Food was good. We pulled in on a whim as we were on our way to Cabelas. We werent disappointed!
Delish !!! Our food was great ! Breakfast was great, scrambled eggs with cheese were perfect, scrapple was cooked great! Burger was delish with a generous portion of fries ! Definitely would come back. Our waitress was so nice !
Im surprised I havent come here since Trivet is close to my area, but here I am finally. Not the friendliest atmosphere, but quick service. They seem understaffed, but the waitress did her best. Also took a gamble as the reviews were not the most appetizing, but my experience today was good. The food did take some time, I only ordered home fries with eggs and my mom ordered an omelette. The omelette wasnt dry and the home fries were good. My home fries was on the soft side and my moms were crunchy. I dont mind soft home fries, so I like it. However, if you like consistent texture for your home fries, you wont find it here. The wait is longer than other diners.
This busy Realtor stopped in for a quick lunch and a family dinner for 5. Thanks for going the extra mile, Trivet staff. My kids are so grateful!
The Trivet has been been around for a long time in the Lehigh Valley. Used to eat here all the time until we moved to Florida in 2006.Glad to see they are still alive and well serving up great food.I had to order my go to breakfast… Western Omelette with cheese, home fries, wheat toast and a side of Scrapple. The SOS (cream chipped beefwas also delicious that my Mom ordered. FYI, it’s not on the menu but you can ask for it.Keep up the great work Trivet Diner. See you on my next visit to Allentown 😀
Amazing breakfast here! Cant really go wrong with any of the options 🙃 highly recommend their breakfast sandwiches, theyre excellent 👌
Very Good Food.Good location.Easy free Parking.Very little wait time to be seated.Quick serviceFriendly StaffClean FacilityHome made Pies and CakesLarge variety of Items on MenusBreakfast all day.
Classic retro decor diner with many delicious food options. Friendly staff. Great prices. You won’t go home hungry.
Classic PA diner experience. Pierogis were good. Breakfast menu seems you cant go wrong but tried something new from the lunch special menu and regret it. Staff were a pleasure.
Such a cute diner, very clean, and delicious food that came out very fast. The portions were large and they were very accommodating with substitutions and special requests. Cant wait to go again!
Update: I was back again for a late night meal. I ordered the baked meatloaf & filling. I finished this classic meal with a slice of the best Baklava in the Lehigh Valley. Yes, I will go back again. Additionally, our Server was great.Today I had the Maryland Crab Ravioli. It was delicious. The filling was a masterful creation. Our waitress was very pleasant and knowledgeable. I got my coffee refilled without asking. My fellow diner had the Queen Cut Prime Rib. The piece I tasted was tender, juicy, and cooked to perfection. Ill be ordering it on a future visit.Every meal Ive had there over the years has been a hit.
We walk in and there was no greeting, no hi, just said "how many?" We were seated and the menus were dropped on our table and the lady left. Seriously, not one word was said, just dropped the menus on our table and left. Our waitress came and took our order. By the time she came back with the food, we still did not have any silverware. She then went to look for silverware for almost 5 mins while the food just sat on our table. Want to hear the greatest part? Moving a piece of lettuce on the top of the salad revealed a bug. Thats right folks, there it was just laying dead on the salad (look at the picture). We then told them we will pay for whatever we had for now, and cancelled our entres. They didnt even take the cost of the salad off our bill... They werent even alarmed when we showed the bug. Oh and our waitress didnt even know what soups they had today... Unbelievable. I rarely give 1 star reviews but this was appalling. I dont recommend this place, plenty of other places to eat.
Food was good, and service was very fast. The waitress was a little apathetic but I am not too concerned. The food literally came out in less than 5 minutes from ordering. I was very impressed
Coffee here is sub par, service is ok. I ordered the trivet specialty burger. The order took 8 min to arrive and tasted pretty decent. Good portions, for a pretty reasonable price. Standard diner, nothing exceptional but nothing terrible either.
