Nicholsons Shopping Centre in Kamba
Description
Privilege
Good Choice Of Shops And Cafes And Bookmakers! Shame About The Ones Out Of Business!
MoreSimple, clean and a lot of useful businesses
Pretty grim place.....needs a massive make over
Sadder than a flat fish in the hold of a trawler.
Boring as hell, cant wait until they pull it down. Really the whole towncentre needs to be rebuilt..
MoreWell maintained, sadly many shops empty due high rent. Could do with an independent cafe or sandwich shop.
MoreGood selection of shops and caps in a small development
I have been to a lot of shopping centres and this has been the worst, most disorganised place I have been to. The car park was a death trap with spaces so tight that people can get out of their cars, the turns were to tight and many people scratched their cars. All in all I would recommend going somewhere else and avoid wasting your time.
MoreClean and organised. There are basic shops missing! We hope to see more shops in the centre.
MoreLove it, but sad to see business going one after another.Parking is a problem Shame on Maidenhead council for extending payment time in the time of crisis.
MoreGood place put needs for new shops
Almost as bad as Slough High Street. Hardly any stores left. Only gave it 1 more star than slough because its not besieged by £1 stores, mobile repair, and Peri Peri stores yet.
MoreQuite a basic mall. There are a few interesting shops there. Theres a toilet there too.
MoreQuiet with a handful of closed shops, but ok
Miserable shopping experience and thoroughly underfunded by the local council. The sooner they can regenerate the town centre and refresh the retail experience the better
MoreThe centre is clean but if you actually looking to go shopping for any cloths the only major retailer is H&M. Many stores are closed and haven’t been let out to new retailers for some time now.
MoreA shopping centre with a small selection of shops. The Future plan is for the centre to be knocked down and redeveloped. You still have a few large shops H & M , CEX,The Works and the New York Deli Coffee shop.
MoreLove the place and location, its a shame so many shops closed down, really hope it can have new shops opening soon.
MoreGrim and depressing. Please try and avoid the post office, itll make you feel sad.
MoreThis place is marked for demolition as part of the Maidenhead redevelopment project. To be honest its old and tired and full of shops that no one is particularly interested in so it is probably a good thing is wont be there much longer. Most are just biding their time till they are told to leave. Lets hope it doesnt take them too long to get the job done.
MoreNot really worth reviewing as they are building an all new shopping center. Ive good memories from when I was younger and it was bustling though. Guess change happens and you have to move with the times.
MoreThis used to be a really good shopping centre and now there are hardly any shops left! Very disappointing as we always have to go out of town to grab the necessities. Even tesco is closed down, nearest one is in Taplow!.. Difficult to get there without a car.
MoreSeen more open shops during my school trip to Chernobyl back in 1986. Maidenhead offers little when it comes to retail shopping ...luckily the regeneration that has been in place for the last 10 years will soon offer the locals something come the year 2040!? On a serious note, Reading Oracle or Westfield London youll actually come back with some goods.
MoreNice atmosphere plenty of coffee and shopping
Bit meh.. some good shops but a bit bland, like a bland macaroni ready meal from Tescos. But all in all its not bad.
MoreUnfortunately what was once a great small shopping centre has been left as a hollow shell with more stores closed then opened. Their is alot of building work going on but this has taken an age to introduce a new shopping centre while other towns have been built around it(yes looking at you bracknell).
MoreExcellent the h s Samuel is amazing great helpful friendly extremely knowledgeable staff members Simon Becky Gerry and Louise in particular
MoreOverall experience was nice, great place to do shopping in maidenhead town. Parking facilities are good, well maintaining, friendly staffs, hygiene and cleanliness
MoreAverage shopping centre. Has some of the usual high street stores but still feels lacking too. Has had new stores open so will hopefully pick up.Update 24 Mar 2022 - is currently under compulsory purchase consultation by the Council. This could be what it needs as it will apparently be made into more mixed use including more leisure/entertaining facilities and elderly accomodation so its more for local people.
MoreI didnt have a good experience at this shopping centre today as I was driving into the parking lot I was having trouble trying to get in without scraping my wheels on the kurb. There was a very rude man who would not give me the chance. He refused to reverse his car enough so I could get into the parking lot which had a very tight space for estate cars.. I had to straighten up and he wasnt allowing me to do do so... with his swearing and telling me what a bad driver I am he finally reversed after some other people (whom were also waiting to go in told him him to shift his car backwards to give me a chance to get my car in.. I didnt feel like shopping much for I thought he was going to damage my vehicle. We got one thing and left.
MorePleasant enough shopping centre. Deciding to close the main loos fo cleaning at 5pm on a Saturday just as people are going home not a great idea
MoreFabulous shopping experience in the heart of Maidenhead.Easy to find in the town centre plenty of parking, Free on Sundays a bonus. Some great shops within the centre, on the weekend we visited they had a pop up crystal shop Mystical Stones that had some amazing crystals and great prices.Overall a great experience, must mention all the hard working staff the security keeping everyone safe and so helpful.Highly Recommended
MoreThe centre is old and tired looking much like the rest of the high street. Many empty units only h&m and Robert dyas seem worth spending time in. But I guess this is most shopping centres around the country now.
MoreSadly like so many town centre shopping centres, this one is slowly dying. Great Vision Express, but thats about it. The aged car park is genuinely unpleasant and definitely doesnt feel safe at night - definitely worse for wear now.
MoreSmells like raw sewage and the security are useless. The centre is so dull, Ive seen more charm and character in a hospital ward.Quite quickly becoming slough 2.0.
MoreNever too busy because its dreadful. Post office and H&M are useful.Starbucks gone. Next gone.Toilets arent nice but glad theyre there. Hasnt been good for 20 years
MoreAll in all its ok for a town shopping centre . The car park is easy enough to use and get parked in then its just a lift away from the main high street . There are a good variety of shops but way too many empty premises . I feel like hairdressers and food shops seem to be the main focus. Could do with a bit of a face lift
MoreThe centre is recently feels as if not looked after. Looks dull and half cleaned that makes it feel even more empty. The parking management is a total mess. Like "who cares" or "to hell with it" kind of mess. The centre is rapidly losing its look and feel. Its very lonely
MoreExcellent place. Good shops, a nice coffee and nice people. Coming from Sheffield as I do, I always look forwards to visiting Maidenhead and the town centre.
MoreA comparison would be appropriate here the centre was very run down with budget shop but in contrast the high streets standards was more inviting with character Enchanting exterior... the indoor facility allowed for toilets & shade from rain.. the Management team should find creative ways to make it more of an experience.. it felt like tired old Eastbourne in the old days.. nothing positive to say about it.
MoreSaved by having a H&M to be honest was a little dissapointed as most of the shops had closed down - not the shopping centres fault but just dissapointing to see so many beloved brands now out of action and extinct from memory, bizarrely coffee shops are in their masses and sell over priced coffee to Joe public.
MoreIts ok, could do with a better food court. Security were very quick to jump on my back to fold up my bike, so at least they were doing their job properly.
MoreNothing much going on here. All the good shops are gone, theres H&M, the works, wh smiths and a hardware store, Rymans and a few more small shops. There are toilets and security walking around. Multistorey parking
MoreA mix here, some very descent shops but also can see the effects of the the dying british high st. A mix bag. The rest of the town is getting renovated so in the near future I can see the centre getting revamped.
MoreThe centre is starting to show its age now, feels a bit dated now. Its kept clean and tidy with very good social distancing measures in place. There isnt a huge range of shops and there are a few empty ones.
MoreClean. only disable toilet in use. Every clean but first think in morning. Have to press the bell and wait to be buzzed in for toilet. Its OK through later in day can be a wait. Shop Dont open till 10am and tesco metro food has moved out. Can be a bit of a wait some times.
MoreNormally a vibrant and busy place with lots of people walking shopping and hearing the sound of voices. My recent visit was very disappointing as almost all the shops and cafes were closed and it created a sense of abandonment as did the High Street. I long to get back to normal.
MoreDespite several shops having closed, those left were very helpful, and I got everything that I went shopping for. Good place, nice people.
MoreA shopping mall with positives and negatives. Well positioned in Maidenhead and with a sufficient car park. However, it has water leaking all year around and slippery floors. It looks older than it is. This shopping mall would deserve a good retouch from a good designer/architect
MoreNicholsons Walk Shopping Centre has been the main focus for general shopping in Maidenhead for around fifty years . It has a multi storey car park attached with good toilet facilities between the shopping centre and the car park . The car park has payment machines located on each floor . Tesco, Samuels jewellery and W.H Smiths have been the mainstay within the shopping centre throughout its history . The main post office is also located within W.H Smiths offering a full service including international driving licences . They also offer self service postal facilities . The shopping centre has a popular coffee shop, clothing outlets, a hardware, kitchenware and gardening outlet and an optometrist. Iceland also has a supermarket there and Timpsons offer shoe repairs and key cutting . Argos are no longer in the centre despite what the internet says . Argos are now located in Sainsburys elsewhere . The South African shop just outside the centres East entrance is worth a visit as is Wilkos opposite the main entrance . There is also a nice old pub, The Rose, outside of the Tescos entrance built in 1880 . U Want Taxis also have their main office just up the road from Tescos and the Rose . Parking is impossible unless one uses the multi storey car park or the small carpark around the back of Wilkos . The main bus stop is no too far from the East entrance located near Boots and Lloyds bank on the High Street .
