Excellent dining experience! If youre looking for fine dining in Puerto Rico, this is the place to go. Chef Chaymal is a gem - he will greet you and go over the menu in details at your table. The food is delicious and very original (blend of latin and French cuisine- lots of flavors! We had the fresh pasta with truffle with a signature cream sauce, the halibut, the carpaccio, and the seared foie gras (a must!). We were dying to try the soufflé for dessert (made with croissantbut we were so full so well definitely go back when were in PR again. Thank you so much for this amazing dinner Chef!

This is the best place I have seen so far. The food is beyond excellent :this is true gourmet food. It is expensive but worth every penny! I highly mens it. Expect to pay a lot but you will have no regrets. The pasta with mushrooms and truffles are a dream come true. The soufflée is delicious and the wine selection is....! I love it. Going again very soon.

It is one of my best two dinner places. The best for anniversary dining. Chef David is excellent, with personalized attention and recommendations. Almost always, We choose the 5 courses as we cannot decide. But the castañas soup is a most. The ginger mojito is spectacular but they also have a good wine selection. He likes to use truffles and mastered these dishes. I can’t remind any of the dishes that I didn’t like. And we visited this place around 10 times and recommended it like a 100 and never received other than big compliments. Please do not forget the house soufflé that he changes every time and always are exquisite. If I would give a six stars, this is the place. Number one Michelin at Puerto Rico. Thanks

Great place. Great service. On the photo you see pistachio French toast and fruit bowl with granola. A stage prices. Food is much more above average! Loved it

We made reservations to come here on our first night in Puerto Rico, and were absolutely stunned by the friendly hospitality, attentive service and clear and obvious passion for cuisine. It was not a meal as much as an event, and Chef Cheymol and his staff, especially Ceśar, are now the standard which every other restaurant will be judged against. We came back on our last night in San Juan, without a reservation, and were greeted and welcomed as old friends. I wish I could give more stars, and every other restaurant should wish to be more like Nichë Bistro.

Amazing cuisine, attentive staff, intimate setting. Wouldnt have thought such a great restaurant would be hidden away in a hotel. I loved the feel of it though. Also had some live music which was a great touch. Chef was present and extremely welcoming. I have never experienced a chef coming out to interact with the guests from start to finish. It was a great experience! Would highly recommend.

Not the best restaurant in Puerto Rico to me..I went to a few Michelin stars restaurants that had a similar price list and an incredible culinary experience. It wasn’t the case at Niche unfortunately.Seeing the reviews on that restaurant, I was expecting a lot. The food was okay but for the price, I felt like it just wasn’t good and special enough. More than that, it wasn’t memorable. The truffle soup was my favorite but there should be at least some pieces of truffle on the top! Not only truffle extract/oil ..Everything seems to be fresh, which is good. The presentation wasn’t incredible either even though I could tell they tried their best to make it look nice. The desert was .. very homemade? But very very far from the level and the presentation we were expecting once again for this price range. The restaurant is very small, it probably have too many tables for the space which made me feel suffocating. If you’re claustrophobic I don’t think this restaurant is for you. It would probably need also less colors and a little bit of more light? However, the service was very good, and the owner was such a nice man. I hope this honest review will help him to improve, and I hesitated posting it for a long time since he was one of the nicest owners I’ve met in San Juan!

You don’t expect such an amazing gem of a restaurant in a tiny corner of a hotel. I’ve eaten wonderful meals all over the world and this is as good as I have ever had. I had the five course tasting menu which was worth every penny, One amazing dish after the other coming out. Everything was perfect and the chef was a sheer joy to meet. If you’re coming to Puerto Rico, do not miss this great restaurant.

Breakfast was amazing. Not cheap, but reasonable price for quality. Place was cozy and interesting, but a bit of a dark cave for my liking - in stark contract to the bright modern hotel and the bright sunshine outside on the beach. We did not stay at this hotel, but walked over just for breakfast. Service was a bit slow, seemed like probably 1 wait staff and 1 kitchen person, but they were very attentive, we still enjoyed it very much

The food was absolutely amazing. We wanted something different and the setting was perfect. It’s like that hidden gem in a city that you must find! The service was just as good as the food. The owner greeted us and the constant attention to all guests and attention to detail didn’t go unnoticed.

PLEASE READ: Niche is a small French restaurant inside of the Acacia Hotel in the Condado area of San Juan. The space is very small and intimate, which is perfect for a romantic dinner. The owner greets guests upon arriving, and describes the specials. We (two peoplestarted with a Filet Mignon Carpaccio, which was delicious. The main courses took over an hour, however the Filet Mignon main dish was cooked to a medium rare, when I ordered a blue rare, and the lobster was overcooked as well. The owner tried to embarrass me by finding a picture of a rare steak on Google and waving it around the restaurant with his flashlight on to show me what he thought was a blue rare steak. When the second piece of meat was delivered, it was cooked correctly, but his ego got the best of him, and he made every effort to ignore our two-top table in this small restaurant. The server told us she asked him to comp a glass of wine, or the filet mignon, and he refused. He then came over to our table after we paid and told us to never return. Unfortunately, this poor gentleman is very lost in his culinary career, and is obviously very angry and sad, meaning he should probably stay away from the service industry, or dealing with people altogether.

Could have given 0 for the taste. Ambiance and drinks are the only thing that you can appreciate about the place.Update Dec 31 2018. I am happy that you reached out to me, but looks like I am blocked to reply to the review you have written. I appreciate your service, but at the same time you should be able to manage the kitchen than servicing the food. Also I don’t want to waste my time time coming back. Thanks though. Also I was not looking for any fried food as you posted on the reply, which is kinda disappointing. Hope you can improve your cuisine and your attitude with the customers

The king of all San Juan restaurants, by far. This restaurants is for FOODIES. Only foodies can appreciate the excellent and consistent quality and service of this restaurant. This is the only Chef’s Table in Puerto Rico where top French cuisine is married with local Puerto Rican products, when available. Try the incredible octopus delicately prepared with an orange flavor. Or the white bean soup with truffle oil. Even better, the creamy pasta dish with scallops and truffles...to rival ANY pasta dish from or in Italy! And the souflés are to die for! I have eaten 15 times at this restaurant and it has consistently surpassed my expectations! Very romantic too, for dates and special occasions!

Niche is definitely one of the best restaurants in Puerto Rico. The service is excellent, the decor is awesome and the food is great. Will recommend it to anybody looking for a gourmet diner. A place where you will not be rushed and will be able to enjoy a memorable experience. Reservations are a must for any night of the week, limited space and very popular among locals.

Delicious food in a great atmosphere. This is my favorite place for fine dining. We go for special occasions and the waiters and Chef are exceptional. The food is fresh and perfectly cooked when you get there, so enjoy the time and the amuse bouches.I have so many favorites that I just go with one of the specials or the Chef menu to discover a new flavor and texture each new visit.Just fabulous!

Skirt steak and eggs wasn’t what I expected for the price. The food itself was ok but for $20 and to get five pre cut pieces of steak, I was disappointed to get a tapas breakfast. To make a bad joke they should call it a mini skirt breakfast

Plan ahead, make a reservation, and don’t miss this superb, intimate dining experience in San Juan. Chef met us at the table throughout the meal, was kind, and made us feel comfortable and welcome, despite our lack of culinary expertise. Service throughout was impeccable, and struck the perfect balance of attentiveness. And, the food was incredible. Top 5 meals ever? Quite possibly.A round of cocktails + appetizers + entrees + a bottle of wine with dinner + dessert + a pour of Macallan 12 = perfection. We will see you there next time we’re in San Juan!

Excellent food and service. The area suffered a blackout during our visit and the staff did not miss a beat. The food was incredible and what was most amazing is that it was prepared in almost complete darkness. The owner - Chef David comped our meal against our will. We will return again and again.

First I have to say that this is a $$$+ fine dining spot. Secondly, its worth it. From the atmosphere to the service to the food, it was all great. We started with the octopus and sweet potatoes and it was the most tender delicious octopus Ive ever had. My main meal was a 16 oz strip steak which may actually be the best steak Ive ever had...just unbelievable. It was dry aged for 28 days and had some buttery sauce that put it over the top. Wifey had shrimp monfongo and we had a glass of wine each. Glad we went. Not one negative thing to speak of.

Simply AMAZING! Very exclusive fine dining experience. The chef was personable and has studied the culinary arts in France. We opted for the 5 course meal and were extremely delighted upon receiving all courses. Great balance based on the chefs recommendations. Presentation was magnificent. It was impossible to choose a favorite course as each only complimented the one prior to ultimately build the perfect dining experience!Oh yeah, and if you are a mojito person you must try the coconut mojito!!

Excellent! Dinner was spectacular. Service was very good. We had a 5 course meal and I was in full umami mode! Fresh ingredients and creative menu design. Wine list is limited but frankly, the list was really good for menu. Parkings is not available, so you may want to Über it to there and back if your staying at a hotel. Its not on the cheap side but the experience is worth it. Next visit is for brunch. I hear that its great too.

I went there to take my mom for dinner in PR, such a bad experience. First of all, the front door was lock. Second, it was a mess on the front of the reception and after I was about to get in they was not table but I could see that there was available spot for me and my mom to see and eat. I feel that they discriminate people in this place. They judge people by they appearances without knowing how much money I have in my bank account. I will never come back here and I do not recomend anyone to come here. Such a bad experience.

If I could give this restaurant 6 stars, I would! Outstanding service, amazing food. The lobster bisque was, hands-down, the best I have ever had, afterwards each couse better than the last. The service was impeccable, and Chef David worked the room like an MC. The flowing decor and cozy atmosphere (eight tablesmake for an intimate experience. Get an early table so you have more time to interact with the Chef. I cant recommend this place highly enough!

One of the best restaurants in San Juan, incredible food in a fun, interactive atmosphere. Not sure to what restaurant the negative reviews are referring, the food and service were top notch, coming from someone who has dined in some of the best restaurants the world over. Only 5 tables in the restaurant, which allows a chefs table concept for the entire space. It was great being able to converse with the head chef about each of the dishes (we opted for the tasting menu). The resaturants atmosphere is such that we became fast friends with the tables on either side of us, trading thoughts about dishes, having lots of laughs and an all around great time. The food was well prepared and the presentation impressive. Pricey, yes, but well worth the money. We dined at several of the top restaurants in San Juan while visiting and they were all lacking in one way or another (some significantly lacking), except for Nische. Make sure you include this restaurant on your itinerary.

The chef has an amazing personality but I was surprised he never spent a moment in the kitchen. As a result, our food was extra salted. I wish he had managed his kitchen more than he managed our food selection. At the end of the day, we loved the ambiance, the drinks and the fact that the chef attended to our table but when we spent $300 on our Christmas dinner, we realized a review was warranted. And I wouldnt have posted this honest review had the chef not insulted Vinay about food choices. We never asked for anything other than authentic French cuisine. And we also didnt expect anything but punctuality and professionalionalism but were met with late food, delayed drinks and an insulting reply to an honest review. The restaurant didnt know we booked our trip at 1pm on Saturday and flew down at 9pm the same day. Were only expecting the best and if the chef cant provide then please be upfront about it. Other than that, Wind Chimes hotel is not bad. Were enjoying enjoying our ten-day stay. Merci, mon ami! Je voudrais a bon appetit next time.

My wife and I stayed at Acacia Boutique during our honeymoon to San Juan. The intimate dining room and fantastic service coupled with beyond exceptional dishes led us to eat here more than once. Some dishes are an amazing fusion between traditional Puerto Rican and French dishes, and the skirt steak is absolutely to die for. Upon learning that we were on our honeymoon, the chef and wait staff made every effort to make us feel like royalty. We were comped champagne and a desert just to make us feel special. Truly an amazing dining experience.

Went there for our wedding anniversary. The restaurant is beautiful! It is very intimate and romantic. The chef was very friendly and came several times to our table to check on us and explain the menu choices. The waiters were very friendly as well. The food was excellent! Highly recommended French restaurant. Chef David is extremely nice and welcoming. Ive been there twice this week and both times were very enjoyable. The appetizers and main courses were delicious if you are into French food. Even if the place is small, I didnt feel discomfort. It was rather surprising to hear one another. The noise was almost non existent even though the place was packed on both evenings. You should book a table ahead if you intend on going there.

I have dined all over. My family and I were hoping for much better here. What i found was mixed with generally more bad than good. When one dines at a restaurant that claims to be at the top...one expects the top in EVERY way. This restaurant instead offers what you see so often now....a superficial experience that has no substance and is truly not remarkable in any way. The food was no better than other restaurants in the area that are much more fun and way cheaper as well. Dont get me wrong, we have dined all over the world in some amazing places. Places that rank from the proverbial mom and pop establishment to the best of the best. This restaurant aspires to be the best. They have a beautiful restaurant but fall far far short on everything else. So in short, spend your money else where. There are so many amazing choices in San Juan. Ask a local for good advice btw...the locals (not foreigners who have moved thereare the friendliest most wonderful people in the world. They will direct you to some amazing places to eat in San Juan that offer experiences that you CANNOT get from anywhere else in the world, much less from a place like Niche that is pretending to be something they are not.

The menu is a little cheesy when it talks about the chef wanting diners to feel invited to his tables for an intimate experience, but coming here felt like that. The space was small, cozy, and oddly lit blue, so it felt like we were underwater, or, as another diner said, "this is an oasis!" The head chef mingled around, welcoming people and wishing them good meals. It was almost like being at a fancy house party. The food was amazing, and the portions were surprisingly large for a fine dining establishment. I got a mojito, which was sharp, bright, and refreshing. The amuse bouche on the house was a tuna tartare with sesame, which was light, fragrant, and avoided being badly "Asian" flavored. The cannellini bean soup with shaved truffle and truffle oil mini breadsticks was perfectly smokey and earthy. The coconut crusted halibut was a slab of fish even larger than the picture out front. The crust was deeply nutty, the pesto sauce both fresh and creamy. The papaya on risotto it came with was an interesting mix of sweet and savory.I left stuffed and satisfied, and would recommend this place to others.

Perfect meal. The place is small and cozy. The chef is at the dinning room all the time, taking the orders, serving and just interacting with the costumers. But the food is the main reason to come. A beautiful fusion of French techniques with Puertorican flavor but not overdone or forced. The chef knows what he is doing. It also has a comprehensive wine list. Great experience.

I though this place was excellent. I only had breakfast here, but the food was delicious and our server was very friendly. And I thought the value for the money spent was extraordinary. I would gladly pay more to dine somewhere as sophisticated, tasty and upscale-ish as this. I really recommend this place and thats a lot coming from me. The parking situation is a little weird... But its Puerto Rico, so. My friend was staying at the hotel, and while I didnt stay, I took a quick tour and was delighted with the contemporary design and modern touches if decoration. I have to come back again.
