Nhà Hàng Chay Hoa Sen - Vegetarian restaurant in Ðà Lạt, Vietnam
We went here for lunch on Nov 9. We ordered a sweet & sour soup (excellent), tofu in tomato sauce (just ok), deep fry tofu sheet with special sauce (too saltyand a peach tea (too sweet). The restaurant was nice and clean and staff were very polite and attentive. Our bill was a little over 300K VN dong. It was neither cheap nor expensive. I would give 3.5 stars for the food and 5 stars for the staff. The menu has many different dishes. I would recommned this restaurant.
This restaurant says it’s vegan but there are still many options with meat. Be careful with what you order if you really are vegan.
Nice place for vegetarian food. Plz don’t mistake it for a 100% vegetarian restaurant. They also serve non veg there. However it is still tuff to get vegetarian food in Dalat. This place was a saviour as we could get some rice and tofu. This is closer to the market aswell so may check it when nearby.A star less as they did not have a card machine and were accepting only cash.
We asked for rice which was 40,000 and they charged us 50,000 and we asked for spring rolls which were 35,000 and they charged us 100,000. The rice was cold and stale. Very disappointed
I am not happy with my experience there. The soups, Banh Canh, and Bun Thai were really nice, but the french fries for a stunning amount of 80k VND are not eatable, still raw. After telling them, to do it fry it again, i got it back heated up, still raw. We didnt eat it, but still had to pay 80k for french fries, that cost every where else 30k to max 50k.After that disappointing experience, i will not return.
Came here a lot 7 years ago when living in Da Lat. There was so much care and attention back then. Today I went with my father and mother remembering the experience. Awful does not describe the experience. From wet plates having to ask many times (my wife is Vietnamese so no excuses of English). That was just the service, then came the food, overly sweet dishes had to leave most of it, battered tempura style raw batter inside, the chef did make another lot in fairness saltless tasteless. Saw the staff picking at the food as we left unsatisfied and hungry a million Vietnam dong shorter. How sad I was so looking forward to the old experience. Dont actually want to review bad things just wanna know what happened with the management change, post COVID , poor cooks and untrained staff?
delicious vegan food and a lot to choose from the menu!
Very bad experience, restaurant looks nice at first but the service was awful. We waited 15 minutes until three different persons came from which no one understood english or even tried to understand our finger pointing. They had no beer, no Pepsi and one coke? The lime juice we ordered was served after we got our meal. We could only choose between three different rice dishes instead of 15 which were on the menu. One dish was seasoned way to intense but the other one was okay. I was just happy when I got out of this „restaurant“ safely.
The staff was hardly speaking english and as we tried to order sth to drink, a lot of drinks were finished. No beer, no pepsi and no coke. The same with the food! (It was 8pm on a Friday!)In the end, my fried rice was just tasting like pepper with frozen vegetables from the supermarket. It was way too expensive too! 100k for a horrible fried rice…Don‘t visit this place! Spend your money somewhere else!
Name of storeTypes of vegetarian restaurantPrices: 60- 350 ( under 500)Pay at the counterPros:(For the food)Free wifiFriendly staffsVery clean bathroomCons: ….I would recommend this store to youThank you for watching my reviewAnd have a lovely day guy’s 🌷
Good taste and fair price. Service is also good.
Inedible veggies and too much MSG
Vegetarian restaurant. Friendly staff. Delicious and clean food.
Had lunch here with my family today. The foods was okay, a bit oily and using quite a lot seasoning. The service is so so, could be improve by providing staff more training. Hope you guys could improve next time.
Pretty good veggie food with a huge selection. The kimchi rice was yummy. Staff were friendly and spoke good English. A bit more pricey than other options but it is classed as a restaurant. I enjoyed the food here but I have had better/cheaper options in Vietnam.
They brought me something I didnt order and then when I didnt eat it I still had to pay for it. Pretty sure thats not a stir fried rice noodle.
I love this place I dont know, staff are very calm. I think its a very Buddhist manner. And the food taste really good! Been here several times. And even the lady staff remembers us.
This place checked all the boxes for me. Big chairs and tables that fit my long legs under them. Not crowded. Cheap. Super yummy food.
Great food, friendly people. Love that they emphasize mostly vegetables and not just tofu and fake meat dishes. All of the things we ordered were very tasty. We were served quickly by a nice lady who didnt speak a lot of English but was pleasant and helpful.
Service was terrible, they ignored us and took no interest in serving us. It states that this restaurant is completely vegetarian and all the food we ordered was vegetarian. However, THERE WAS MEAT AND FISH IN OUR HOT POT WHICH CLEARLY WAS STATED AS VEGETARIAN. The meat looked barely edible and disgusting, do not go here if you’re looking for a vegetarian or vegan meal! If I could give 0 stars i would. DO NOT GO HERE!
The food was delicious! Well go back again tomorrow as well as they have an extensive menu. We had the chili tofu and the sour soup with steamed rice and 2 orders of the fresh salad rolls - so good!
Such nice vegan food! Me and my partner had mushroom pho and braised pie with lemongrass and chilli. Both were amazing, and the staff were so friendly. Well definitely be coming back!
Banh mi is great for 15k. The quality of the dishes are very good. Service is like in many places in Vietnam, if youre eating with more than one person, you dont get your food on the same moment.
The best vegetarian foods throughout my trip in vietnam
Average vegetarian food. We ordered the crispy tofu which wasnt crispy when it arrived, but was quite well seasoned. Also had mixed vegetables with rice which all seemed pretty fresh, and we tried to order spring rolls but they said they didnt have any, then five minutes later brought some out to the table of Vietnamese girls next to us. The food we did have took about 15 minutes to arrive so no problem there. The menu has quite clear English translations, although the staffs English wasnt great. Im not complaining as Im aware Im in Vietnam, but it could make ordering a bit tricky. At least you know everythings vegetarian though!I was quite put off because the place was absolutely filthy. Despite there being quite a lot of staff and not that many customers, there were empty tables piled with leftover meals and the floor was covered in tissues and bits of old food.
Go at your own risk.TL;DR: Service and food quality seem very inconsistent. No English. Dont go near closing time (which apparently happens twice a day: 2pm and 9pmor peak hours. Food is tasty because of MSG. Unfortunately, Hoa Sen is a no-go for me. It left me with a bad taste in my mouth and I wont be coming back, simply because there are other places more worth spending your time and money at in Da Lat.Full review:Service and quality seem very inconsistent judging from others reviews. My own experience was the worst I encountered in Da Lat. No warm welcome and many tables were left dirty from the previous patrons, I suspect because it was near afternoon closing time and the staff were just eager to have a break. So many things were sold out but I dont know if they were really sold out or they just didnt want to cook some of the more complicated dishes so close to the closing time. My friend and I settled on the lotus rice and sauteed mixed veggies and they came out promptly. For vegan dishes, they were suspiciously very tasty, no doubt lots of MSG, so there. But the service - oh, the service - was what ruined the whole thing. Yes, English was rough but Ive dined elsewhere where the staff spoke very little English yet I still had the best time, so to me it wasnt the problem. The staff simply had no respect for us.I understand that English can be intimidating so I always ensure I smile and keep the interaction as simple as possible by gesturing and using keywords (instead of over-enunciate / speak louder. If they dont speak English, it wont help, trust me). But the staff just simply couldnt be bothered. Halfway through the meal I wanted to get a bottled water but again, it was sold out. I find it hard to believe but hey, maybe it really was sold out, who knows?Summary: I wont be coming back for sure.
Some of the best food you can have in Vietnam but unfortunately, if you are a foreigner, you will probably have a terrible experience. They are extremely rude and disrespectful if you are not Vietnamese. I understand that you will run into a language barrier when eating at restaurants in Vietnam if you speak English, but this restaurant just downright discriminates against "outsiders."
TERRIBLE.... The darkness is big in this place. The restaurant is dirty, our table was filthy, the food was average, but the staff... omg the staff... the stupidity are sooo great within this staff, and not just because they altogether speaking 3 english words, but they totally refuse even to try to understand what the guest wants.... the little boy waiter was so bored in total apathy, and he didnt just hate his job, but every guest in the restaurant. After weve finally got the menu to choose a food, they totally ignored us, like if they tried to delay the unavoydable...Never will go there again, and i dont recommend this place to anybody
Food was great! Had my first banana flower salad and it was delish ! Don’t be put off by not so attentive service, the food is so worth it and the people working here are actually pretty cool
Good food, bad service. Waiters seemed to be scared of coming near our table. Had to shout to get noticed, and when they finally took out order they ran away before we could order drinks. Brought us someone elses food which sat on our table for a while before they realised and came to take it straight to the right table, not asking if wed touched it, luckily we hadnt. The food we had was great though. Some of the best vegetarian food we had in Dalat and pretty good prices.
I had the tofu and chilli rice which was delicious. I added a plate of boiled vegetables and in total this meal was 80K. Can recommend it as a decent place in Da Lat for vegetarians and vegans. My friend had the fried rice and enjoyed it.
Extensive menu. Ordered the yuangzhou fried rice, "chicken wings" & dumplings & chilli tofu rice. The fried rice was delicious and had mock Chinese sausage. The chicken wings were super tasty and had a great meaty texture. The dumplings were actually sweetened bread dumplings that are deep fried, I expected more traditional pastry with a filling dumpling but they were filling and tasty. The tofu was tipped with a lemongrass chilli mix and deep fried with a side of rice. All dishes were tasty and cheap, 160k for 3 dishes.
The food is all vegetarian. It tasted good. All except the tofu rice. They gave big portion sizes. The location is central
Longtime vegetarian and Vietnamese food lover. I was not impressed at all with the food. Springrolls were very very bland and dry. They brought a sichuan dish when I asked for something with vegetables. It was bokchoy drowning it what tasted like a pre-made sauce from a jar. Banana flower salad was decent.Dalat doesnt seem to compare with the rest of Vietnam for food taste. Also dont get here to late or they wont have any of the dishes you want.
Delicious Vegetarian meals for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Delicious food and great value. Ended up coming back cause the food was so good. Definitely would recommend the roast dry gluten and the banana leaf salad, everything we had here was so tasty!
Decent vegetarian food. Saitan was good, and the tofu in tomato relish was okay. Portion of rice was way too big - had to pay for a portion suitable for four even though it was just two of us
Hue noodle good, mushroom pho good, HORRIBLE SERVICE. The servers here ARE THE WORST. They are rude and dislike serving foreigners - why? I have no clue. Bahn me is okay but the bread isn’t very good and they extremely skimp on the veggie:mock meat serving in the sandwhich. Servers get angry when you ask questions and even tho the menu is in English they have no idea anything you are saying . I still eat here because the food is good
Came here twice as many other veggie restaurants were closed for lunch. Delicious and lots of options!Ate alone but a group would be ideal to to share and try everything. I went for the tofu dishes for the sustenance.Springs rolls and peanut dip is a must. The tofu with fat noodles was really nice, comes with salad to fold in and soya dip (I think it is quang mi - I just showed the picture from a previous post)Lotus rice kind of meh/standard stir fry rice dish.Bon Bon salad amazing - good bite with the crackers and refreshing flavour with the sauces.Pictures attached to help you choose! :)
Big selection of vegetarian food. Its not marked what is vegan so I just asked each time if what I chose was and it was OK. I got the chili tofu rice and the celery and tomato soup. I had the pho for breakfast too and it was nice. Had mock beef and crispy tofu skin. I got a bahn mi to take away for lunch and it was great. The tea you get on arrival is delicious!
Food was great here! We ate here two days in a row. The first day it took quite a while to get our food, the second day we got our food very fast! The dumplings are amazing!!! I got vegetables in combination(whatever that meansand it was very good! Would recommend this place.
We went there several times as it is located very conveniently and the prices are around 30 000 to 50 000 Đồng for a dish. Portions are big (the phố for 35 000 Đồng was very filling). However you should stick to there "star" dishes as there menu is huuuge and quality varies.
Been a vegetarian for more than 3 years and this is one of the best vegan restaurant in Dalat. Good service, nice food. Open in holidays, even in lunar new year when most of businesses this country are closed.
Best vegetarian restaurant of Da Lat for any meal from breakfast to dinner.I have tried all the vegetarian restaurants of Da Lat City but this is best one.Reasonable pricing too.
Have been here for few times as a tour leader. This is a very good veggie restaurant with reasonable price. Recommend it to you all vegetarian.
We ordered a variety of dishes which were tasty. The sauted mushrooms very super yummy. Fast service comfortable seating. One of my top vegetarian restaurants in Dalat. Allow 100k dong per person on average.
YUMMY YUM YUM! I was only in Da Lat for 24 hours and I managed to eat at this restaurant 3 times. The Banh Mi is amazing, as is the mushroom pho and steamed buns. I also tried the Fried Tofu (in the shape of Chicken Wingswhich was a nice texture but the sauce was really salty/sweet. The menu is quite extensive with many options for all taste buds. All items on the menu are vegetarian and the prices are Vietnamese prices, even for a westerner. Would definitely check this place out if you are considering it. I will definitely be back the next time I am in Da Lat.
5 star for the quality of the food. If you want to order, sometimes you have to be a bit pushy getting the attention of the waiters.
Great menu with many vegan options. Its all Vietnamese food, but the English translations are great. For under 5 dollars I had enough food to feed a village (miscommunication on my part led to an extra dish being brought out!). Great selection of teas and juices.
Solid choice for vegetarian food. I stayed a week at a hotel up the street and came here nearly every day. Staff are a bit cool at first, but warmed up after the second and third visit. Limited English spoken, but pointing at the menu works fine.
