Tanzania, Sikonge
Established in 1959, this sprawling conservation area features a volcanic caldera, a gorge & more.
Best of the beastsIts a must visit at least once in a lifetime imagine on a hilltop that is not a hilltop a mountain top there is a creator created by amateur right and it has its own biodiversity oh you have to see it to believe it I completed my Africas top 5 the rhino in inorro and just the just the temperature the way the flowers and animalsIt feels like another world
We were already twice at Ngorongoro Crater and both times were different and always new things to see. The Crater is a must on your Safari Trip. Sorry, I used my proper camera for very nice pictures. These pictures here I just tooked in between with my phone.
Another place people should see. Its full of wildlife and very beautiful. Have a good guide with you and its an adventure one will never forget. Also LISTEN to your guide when they tell you dont get too close to the animals. It their territory. Its dangerous. Play it safe and just enjoy the animals from a distance. Wear safari color clothes too. Ive seen others ignore this instruction. You dont want attention so wear the proper color attire. Also pack a sweater or thermals. It gets chilly in the mornings and evenings.
I had the best time there, a wonderful place, the largest inactive Crater for sure it is the 8th natural wonder, the environment is conserved very well.Seeing the animals living inside the Crater...ooh man this place is Eden, loved it looking forward for another visit..
One of the best safari park!
We took part in a pre-booked safari to the Ngorongoro conservation area to visit the largest caldera in the world and enjoy the local wildlife. From the entrance gate to the crater floor is about one hour traversing rough, dirt roads which makes for a dirty and tiring day. The area is teeming with small game such as wildebeest, zebra, gazelles, warthogs, water buffaloes and many varieties of birds. We did see quite a few hippos, one rhino and two lionesses. The road too and from the crater foot provide the opportunity to view many elephants and some giraffes.
Nature at its best. The view over the crater from above is truly spectacular. Full of animals, plenty of action. Prepare yourself for long drives over very bumpy roads. It is worth it though. Many animals including lions, elephants, giraffes, zebras, warthogs, gazelles, etc can be found here. The scenery is tropical with lush at some points. There is also a large lake where you can see hippos and flamingos.
It was a great experience a lot of animals are seen easily, transportation is available the tour guides are friendly
Beautiful National Park. Lots to see. Tanzania is an undiscovered gem in Africa, the 3 parks we visited were excellent
Welcome to Ngorongoro Conservation Area (NCA), one of the world’s truly amazing places. The NCA is not a national park but it is a pioneering experiment in multi-purpose land use.Ngorongoro Conservation Area is a Protected Area (PAsand a Mixed World Heritage Site in Northern Tanzania, covering 8,292 square kilometres and sheltering the finest blend of landscape, wildlife, people, and archaeological sites in Africa. It is located 180km West of Arusha in the Crater Highlands area of Tanzania, extending from the plains of Serengeti National Park and Maswa Game Reserve in the West, to the Eastern arm of the Great Rift Valley. This Protected Area was named after Ngorongoro Crater, world’s largest unbroken and unfilled volcanic caldera, which is 610m deep and host over 25,000 large animals including some of Africa’s last remaining black rhinos.Outside the big crater, wildlife in Ngorongoro Conservation Area co-exist with the semi-nomadic Maasai, who practise traditional livestock grazing. The Maasai are a pastoral tribe that has managed to preserve its culture over hundreds of years, living in harmony with the wild animals.Apart from the Crater and its wildlife and people, the other significant features in Ngorongoro Conservation Area include Olduvai Gorge (also spelt Oldupaiand Laetoli, which contain important palaeontological records related to human evolution. Indeed, Ngorongoro has been a place for extensive archaeological researches in the past 100 years, revealing evidence of human evolution and human-environment dynamics, collectively extending over a span of almost four million years.
Visited the crater as part of a 4 day safari. Beautiful scenery - and the aspect of wildlife viewing I enjoyed was seeing the herds. Same animals as other parks, but the large herds was unique.
Despite the astronomical fees still an absolutely wonderful place. Takes a bit of time to get down into the crater but its amazing to have a 360 degree view of so many wild animals everywhere.
A great park with many animals and great sightings. The last park in Tanzania to see rhinos. However, because of the craters size, at great sightings many many cars.Overall still great place, with many rare and nice places+animals!
Amazing experience! There is a lot of wildlife here including a lot of hyenas! So they are incredibly easy to spot. A mist visit if you are in the area!!!
The Ngorongoro conservation area was one of the biggest highlights of our African safari. Our guides told us it has the highest permanent concentration of animals in the world, and you can definitely tell. From lions, to elephants, to zebras and hippos, you can see it all here. I will definitely be back to the crater (calderaand will not stop telling my friends and family about the experiences I had here for years to come.
Great game drives and a wide diversity of wildlife. Highly recommend a visit on the way to or from the Serengeti.
One of the best places in the world to see wild African animals in their natural environment.
Beautiful Parc, with toilets and even WiFi available 🤩 lot of diversity in nature and wildlife... Unfortunately we didnt get the chance to See one of the 7 rhinos. We had a beautiful day
Theres nothing like seeing nature and wild animals run free. Being from the US, it was truly an amazing area that I hope to revisit someday. Words cant describe...
Amazing spot for wildlife Safaris
Its an amazing place! In the morning, youll probably get a chilly and misty weather, so pack a polar or a sweater. The tropical forest is beautiful, though, especially with all the mist and fog. Once you go down the caldeira, it gets warmer and sunnier, and the landscape is just wonderful. Youll see lots of animals (including the black rhino, if youre lucky), and the picnic that everyone seems to do by the lake is also very pleasant (lots of little colourful birds to photograph here!). It was really nice!
Only thing not to love are the birds trying to steal your lunch nd the numerous safari vehicles. But is a reason they are there. Safari top notch and spectacular views.
A lush caldera in Tanzania. Lions and elephants and hippos, oh my.
Everything greateCoffe 4$Wc clean
What a wonderful place to get in touch with ones self. Wow, and nature, at its best.
This volcanic crater is full of life and is just absolutely breathtaking. We got a chance to witness the big 5 (except for Rhinos). The drive here was beautiful as it took us up and around the crater ,you will go back in time as you witness what has happened here 2.5 million years ago . One can only say Subhanallah to such beauty, highly recommended. We came to Ngorongoro days after reaching the summit of Kilimanjaro with our guides whom partnered up with Lengasani Africa for our safari tour (sharing for informative purposes,non-promotional). Our guides offered an exceptional service and are very knowledgeable with this national park. Highly recommend adding Ngorongoro crater to your bucket list 👌 👍.For more information on the guide we used ,check them out on Instagram 📸@LengasaniAfricaPhoto credit 📸 IG @Buddha.VenturaFollow my personal IG 📸 @Abdulyo313
Best preserved national park. Our guide from Kiliwarrior Expeditions took us here and able to spot most of the animals in three hours.
Incredible adventure! Very interesting and also relaxing in the middle of nature, full of animals.
Ngorogoro was one of several national parks we visited, and it was one of the best. More wildlife than I ever expected including lots elephants, lions, giraffes, hippos, warthogs, various ungulates, flamingos, etc. We also got to see a black rhino, though it was off in the distance.
Whats a trip to Tanzania without a safari? First visit and certainly not the last. I saw three members (🦏, 🐘, and 🐃)of the Big Five, Ill be back to see the other two!😃
Wow. Very hugh national park surrounded by hugh mountains in 360 degree angle .. almost 25000 animals live within Ngorongoro , our visit was successful we saw lions , wild beast , zebra, jiraafs, Deers, antilops, elephants , beautiful sawana land , also plenty of Hippos .. nature is amazing , very peaceful , quite, beautiful National Park.. one of the Best National park i ever visited.....
I think most of wild animals are living here. One of the special places in the world, where you can experience volcanic activities.
A wonderful spot for safari and for seeing a lot of animals.
Its so beautiful to be there. Worthy trip, with a friendly and professional driver from Ona Safaris - indeed catched wonderful moment at the crater. Watching the birds, animals and well conserved environment.
An absolutely mind blowing location, it almost doesnt even seem real, its like youre on a movie set of the next Lion King. The best way to describe the Ngorongoro crater is a melting pot of biodiversity with so many animals in close proximity to each other. It looks as though every animal is living in harmony with each other. If youre visiting the Serengeti, you should definitely go to the crater as well. Its amazing!
Existential ecstasy. That is how I can describe my meeting with the pristine nature of Ngorongoro. If all the biologists who have devoted their lives to the struggle for the preservation of species diversity on the planet, reach paradise, it looks like "Lost World" Ngorongoro volcano crater.
Ngorongoro caldera is a wonderful place to see the wildlife.....the services are beautiful and organised.June and July are cold season, if you’re used to Hot and sunny areas you might as well consider packing sweaters or jackets .It’s a stress reliever tourI like the green mostlyWas luck enough to see the big five........If you want to enjoy the tour make preparation earlier and organise everything prior travel time .
Most amazing national park in Tanzania must visit and enjoy this beautiful UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Amazing spectacle of wildlife. Visited during the gnu migration in february. Incredible experience. Saw Lions, Rhinos, Giraffes, Elephants, Zebras, Gazelles, and much more. Must visit.
One of the amaizing tourist destination you should visit before you die..put ngorongoro conservation area and Serengeti in your bucket list as well as mount Kilimanjaro and plan to visit Tanzania for more amaizing places
Absolutely amazing. The surroundings alone will take your breath away. I visited the Conservation area as part of a Safari Package we spent half a day in the park. You have a good chance of seeing the big five. In our case we missed the black Rhino but see the rest of the big five and other animals was absolutely amazing. I would recommend a two day two for the crater to get the best of it. I went with Suricata travels and Safari Soles Travel from Arusha.
A spectacular and unique example of nature that should be on everyones bucket list. I highly recommend splurging on accommodations, so that you can experience the crater in the early morning as the suns light breaks through the overnight clouds to bring light to the crater floor. We stayed at the Serena, which was a lovely and very memorable experience.
If you are looking to see animals, this is the place. It felt like we couldnt NOT see animals, and there was such great diversity as well! Its an amazing little piece of the natural ecosystem preserved in Tanzania.
This UNESCO site sure lived up to its lofty expectations as a haven for wildlife. The world’s largest intact caldera teems with wildebeest, zebras, jackals, hyenas, lions and black rhinos. Come early to experience the morning light. The gates open at 6 am!
There are no words to accurately describe how unique and special this place is. Still blown away with the vegetation and the sheer amount of animals we saw yesterday. 4 out of 5 of the Big Five and watching a lion snack on a zebra is Africa at its best. This place puts other game drives to shame because of the scenery
This a meteoric crater which was formed millions of years ago. It lies at one end of Serengeti national park. Amazing place to see all animals, Elephants, Lions, Hyenas, Leopards, Rhinos, Hippos, birds, etc.
This is a very nice park, a must in my opinion, to all travelers to Tanzania. You can find most of the big animals here like elephants, rhinoceros, lions, wild beast , zebras, etc. When you take a break to eat your meal, watch for the eagles because you may loose your food.
On the way to the park, we passed a family of Baboons. Once inside the park we saw zebras, a pride of lions, impalas, water bison, wart hogs, hyenas, hippos and many other animals and birds. Many of the animals were next to the road or a short distance away, so taking pictures was easy.If you get a chance to see this park, it is well worth the trip.
Amazing place. Hordes of wildebeests and zebras. Also managed to catch a glimpse of a rhino as well. Scattering of other animals such as warthogs, buffaloes etc. Area was cooling and breezy. Crater is so huge its almost unfathomable how such a crater can form.
Pure magic! Absolutely wonderful place with a feeling of belonging. Felt like stepping into a Disney movie of surreal life but well worth it and much better. Animals, nature, weather, all of it combined to make a truly amazing trip with something spectacular to see and experience. Nothing short of amazing!
