Ngare Ndare Forest Park - Amusement park in Nanyuki, Kenya
The hike leading to the falls is breathtaking.Walking through the Canopy is thrilling
Beautiful and magical place to visit if you for a forest walk.
A cool place to enjoy yourself.... Nature here is amazing and the waterfall
What an amazing great experience , amazing natural water and good hike… a must go
Very beautyful and peaceful place and the water was soo pure
Loved everything...from the tour guide..the trek ( hiketo the canopy...everything
At the heart of nature lovers, quite an interesting experience especially the canopy walk
hike walk was fun hilly and interesting
What a magical place! Lucky enough to have been without touris nor visitors. It was all for our selfs...! A treasure that must be protected at all cost. I did see plastic and garbage so PLEASE BRING THE TRASH WITH YOU ! RESOECT NATURE & THE CONSERVATION
Ngare Ndare is so beautiful! If it is your first time going here, be sure to leave your location early incase you get lost. It is also best to go during the dry season to ensure the waterfall water is clean and not muddy. If you are a novice hiker, prepare to be put to the test to get to the waterfalls. However, the view once there is totally worth it. The water is very cold once you get in for a swim, but you get used to it after a while. The guides/rangers are also very helpful.
Natures beauty.➡️ Canopy walk➡️ Hike➡️ Trees➡️ Blue pools➡️ Water fall➡️ BirdsThis place is a wonder to behold. It is breath taking.I would however recommend that they set up a picnic place and some room for team building activities. They could also plant more trees around the canopy walk to make it cooler.Entrance is 2k for Kenyans. Thats a bit high. If it can be made 1k then its fine. When you plan to visit, please learn how to swim. This will enable you to enjoy the blue river.
Fantastic experience hiking up to the water falls. Only sad think is due to the rains the water was brown and not the expected blue. Our guide, Daniel was very nice. Thereafter, the thrill was in the canopy walk. This is a good place to visit even for just a day.
Best place to help you overcome your height phobia. The long canopy walk gives you the best views and although you get scared at first, you get used to it and have fun. I did not manage to see any animals from the canopy bridge.
The walk to the falls is 3.5km (each way), the difficulty is 2 out of 5 but its just so beautiful. The hike is mostly under the canopy of trees so the sun isnt much of a factor. Lots of Buffalo, rhino and elephants. Highly recommend.
For starters, the customer service was great (the guides are so committed to their job, i loved how they were with us every step of the way ). The blue waters were beautiful, great place to have a swim especially if you arent from the coast. Moreso, you are guaranteed to see wildlife if you are there early enough. My only problem was the rough-road to the place. Itll take a couple of hours to get there. All in all, the place is worth it 100%
This is a must visit and must include in your bucket list if you are in Nanyuki. From the crystal clear waterfall to the longest canopy walk that is not for the faint hearted...this is place you may want to come back again and again. Carry your costume so that you can take a dip after the long walk to the waterfalls. No changing rooms though. Water is not as clear during the heavy rains season.
Enjoyed the nature trail, the dip in the natural pools and canopy bridge. This is definitely a must see.
Wonderful place to go hiking as a group, or a couple. It boasts of various species of indeginous flora, and birds.
Guide was very friendly. Lovely sites. Would definitely go there again!!
The canopy walk is very daunting but worth going through. Beautigul forest. The resident rates need to be revised though. The campoy walk is 2k per person and then a hike and walk into the forest another 2k per person then you have to pay a guide another 1k and another 1k to park the car. I find this very ridiculous. This is why locals hardly ever visit sites like this.
Beautiful blue pools and great hiking trial
Not so beautiful as exaggerated. Money paid is alot not worthy.
Guess I was abit unlucky. The water was so muddy probably due to the rains, was not lucky to see any elephants either. All in all, enjoyed the canopy walk.
A hidden gem in Kenya. You get to hike in the wild with a possibility of encountering the big 5. We came across a big elephant bull. Its exhilarating. And you are walking. It has secret pools, untouched and soooooo beautiful and blue. And you get to swim in the cool waters from Mt. Kenya with the view of the waterfalls. It was worth it and amazing guides and security.
This is a decent, green place with multiple river crossings, salt licks, water falls, plunge pools and a lot of wildlife. A few issues though; the park opens at around 8 and getting in is slow, several rules such as littering, very loud music arent really enforced so not the most pleasant. Had a major issue with flies on the day we hiked the whole way up and down. The pools also are apparently most of the year not clear blue but green despite how its marketed. The canopy, clean icy spring water to swim in, and setting are very nice but Im fearful that it having very laxed rules it may not last as a pristine area. Guides are knowledgeable, most roads accessible by any car type except for small patches towards the main waterfalls which you can easily trek. Gets very hot also.
Nice place to visit. Make sure you should wear good Jogging shoes 👢. Muddy rote. Ready to walk 👣 more than 4km one side.
got a crazy experience to be super close to a tusker elephant. Luckily we were with rangers who knew how to deal with the situation in a calm and controlled way.
Nature at its purest! Especially so when it hasnt rained! You can also be lucky and get to see elephants roaming.
The hike (3.5kmto the waterfall is a great workout and you get to see a lot of the lush green vegetation. Its simply beautiful. There is also a canopy walk about 450 metres on a wiremesh bridge that is about 40ft from the ground. From the elevated section you can observe a wider area. Its thrilling ❤❤❤🙌🏽
Very nice place to visit. You hike 2,5km to waterfalls and back. The guides are friendly and the forest is diverse. The only issue is you need to pay the entrance fee via MPESA. They dont accept cash and cards.
Alot of activities. Started with a 30 - 45 minute hike to a waterfall. Swam at the waterfall to out hearts content then hiked back to the main area. Afterward, we walked on a bridge that had an amazing view for about 10 - 15 minutes. It would be longer if you have a fear of heights. Overall, it was an amazing place.
$40pp non resident fee + $10 for ranger. Make sure to make an appointment ahead of time.Canopy walk is not overly interesting in the middle of the day. Try to come near dawn or dusk.
So so beautiful. If your lucky you will see wildlife below the canopy walk!
It was an awesome all new experience. Loved it
A good place to spend time and explore nature through the hiking, natural springs and wonderful canopy walk.
Its a nice place to be. Especially for though who love nature. It has a diversity of fauna, and a beautiful waterfall. Also a 260 m canopy walk is a major attraction point to Ngare ndare.
wonderfull and clean Place.Very expansiv for Muzungu! Not so easy to find if you cpme from North Side.
A game drive into the Ngare Ndare forest, where we were taken to this canopy walk and fed lunch high up in the trees. Then a swim in the blue pools deeper in the forest. The stream comes from the melted snows of Mt Kenya.
Pricey entrance charges, but the one-of-a-kind canopy walk is an experience not to be missed! Lucky ones get to see elephants walking underneath. I didnt get to the waterfall or pool since rangers were all busy. Word to the wise - book ahead of time for the whole package! No meals or restaurant inside the park, so do arrange to carry enough supplies.
Natural epic trails and canopy walk...its super awsome to swim on the cool breeze blue water from its indegenious falls.
Best place for weekend out. There is a canopy walk and swimming in natural water pool
If you happen to be near Nanyuki, take time to visit this phenomenal, turquoise stream of Ngare Ndare. The water apparently flows underneath from the peak of Mt. Kenya. The stream flows over a number of water falls with pools deep enough to swim and cliff jump. Some tour companies organize repelling down some of the falls. The streams are in a conservancy so be prepared to pay for admission. The road leading up to the stream is rough and requires an off road vehicle if you a not walking. Walking can only be with an armed ranger due to wild animals.
Its one of those places that makes one say, "Kenya is beautiful ". One can access it after timau town once you pass kenol petrol station the entrance is on the left. You can also use the TM gate from the isiolo road that cuts through lewa conservancy. The latter is great as you get a chance to view lewa wildlife as well. Plenty of activities and fun to watch those who fear heights do the canopy walk. You can camp, swim in blue natural pool, walk to the water fall. Seems like its the natural habitat for elephants as you will see over a hundred. We also got the buffaloes and a black rhino.
A magical place to be.. located just after Timau.. Ngare Ndare has the natural beauty of the Mt.Kenya region.. A really lovely place to hike, picnic or take a canopy walk on the mad made bridge between trees.. The place has a variety of animals in various places. The reserve has natural blue pools with clear water providing a perfect spot for swimming in the beautiful natural pools". There are awesome waterfalls along the river. I enjoyed my day at the forest and will definitely come back. Its the ultimate place to relax and rejuvenate.
Ideal place to go for hiking, swimming (water is quite coldand also the canopy walk is a must try
Amazing sites, drive is awesome, canopywalk breathtaking, friendly tour guides, You should definitely visit. Book before visiting though, check on website.
Best gate away with naturally cool blue waters! Perfect for diving and swimming.
Gentle hike.. Tranquil and calming. Stunning views. Warm up with the Canopy Walk then hike to the 3 sections of the falls and pools: The Source, waterfalls & separate pools. Id recommend a 2 day trip to allow you to be well rested for the experience and maximise on time there if you start hiking midmorning so as to travel back early afternoon with ample daylight.
You would love the views at the top of the canopy. There’s a platform at the end of the walk where you could carry snacks and picnic. The height would be freighting for many but after a few steps in you get used to it.You should definitely go during the dry season. If you happen to go when it’s during the rainy season, you should use a 4x4 car, the drive would be frustrating if you use a saloon car. It’s quite far out. So make sure you have ample snacks and water. Network coverage is good. You also need to book in advance with the park for visits.
The natural pools, dining with the 🐘 and the bonfire was just heavenly.
