Nice provincial park with a great beach and fun rocks to play on. Nice walking trails, with some information about it previously being a POW camp, but I wish there was more. Nice sites, lots of driftwood on the beaches.

Very nice beaches with some campsites backing towards the beach. The park is too remote to receive Bell services however Rogers service may be available.

It is a great park with nice views and lots of things to do. They offer guided activities and everything! We stayed twice (both just overnightand the first stay was nicer than the second. The second time, we stayed in Area 4. It is more rustic (totally fine with us as we are tent campers who mostly backcountry and only stay on sites when were driving across country), but the sites are nice. The privy was horrid One of the worst Ive smelled. It desperately needs replacing. Im not sensitive and this made me gag. Otherwise, we love Neys.

It’s Lake Superior so the water is cold but the beach is fabulous. The history is rich and the hiking trails are beautiful. The sound of the train passing on the bridge over the river is beautiful if you like that kind of thing. If you want the white noise or the waves stay in areas 1, 2, or 3. Area 4 does have some highway and lots of train noise. Visitor centre is a good spot to stop too. Kayaking, canoeing, or boating on little pic river is always a perk too.

Beautiful park with lots to offer. Campsites are well organized from Area1 to Area 4. Ares 2 and 3 are facing Lake Superior. Not sure about Area 1, didnt get a chance to check it out, but I assume its similar to Area 2 and 3. Area 4 is more in the forest with not much of Lake view. However, it is still beautiful if you like lots of woods. This area is relatively quite. There is short and sweet trail called Look out. You can easily finish around 40 minutes. You can see the entire bay from the too. There is a bit of rock climbing which is not hard at all. Prisoners Cove also has a great trail with breathtaking view along side Lake Superior. It is rocky area, but there is also path so you can choose which way to use. Are 2 and 3 campsite has Lake Superior view and if you get a site near the lake, you will walk out little bit to get to the water, its like a private way to get to the beach. Its sand beach. Staffs are super nice. However, the park and campsite isnt really on the land and its north shore of Lake Superior, so it could get chilly even in the summer.

Absolutely gorgeous. Its not a huge campground. The sites were a big tight to get into. The families were clean. The Under the Volcano hike was awesome. No cell or data service. A trai goes by, but its not too noticeable. End of June we had mosquitoes and black flies.

June 24-25 2022 Very nice park! Friendly staff. Use to be a prisoner of war camp.... interesting fact! Unfortunately we were not able to find more details about this as it was not in the park book and the arrival and departure of our time didnt work with visitor center hours (closed at 4 open at 10). Lots of mosquitoes and black flies.

This provincial park has beautiful beaches and very clear blue water. It is great for fishing, canoeing, and hiking. The amenities are always clean. Definitely worth the drive up from Toronto!Note that the entrance to the park crosses the CN railway. When the CN staff performs maintenance, you cannot enter or leave the park for certain periods at a time. You can also hear quite a few trains pass by several times a day.The hiking trails are all very nice and slightly different from each other. If you walk all the way from the campsites to the Pic Island Overlook and continue to Kopa Cove, followed by Under the volcano, and then finish back at the campsites, it will take you around 6-7 hours to complete the loop (about 20 km).As far as the Kopa Cove trail goes, the park map does not specify the difficulty of the trails and how treacherous and steep this particular trail can be, especially if just rained. Additionally, the trail does not exactly match the park map as it meets the water quite a bit further south.

Neys is such a beautiful historic location! The lake, forest, huge rocky out crops of the Canadian Shield, just stunning! Natural wading pool and trail to a camping area with a view that is breathless!

Beatiful beach. Lots of driftwood around. The trails are ok. Sandy. Flora are fauna is different as it grows on sand. Not much to explore. Good for camping to get away and swim, relax at the beach.

Neys is one of the more beautiful campgrounds I’ve been to. I recommend area 3 for tent camping. Our site was clean and had a private trail to the beach. The park itself is very quiet and peaceful. We extended our trip and ended up getting a campsite in area 1 which is reserved for RVs. The sites were perfectly fine but not great for tent camping as there is no privacy, if you’re tent camping try and stay in area 2 & 3. The bay was really calm while we were there so were able to spend a lot of time paddling and fishing.

We recently spent a week at Neys. The landscape is amazing. The park is well maintained and staff friendly and knowledgeable. Park staff were regularly driving through sites which was nice... not sure if this was due to the fire ban or if this is a regular occurrence, however we appreciated it.Outhouses were our least favourite part (area 4however were cleaned throughout day and the comfort station was only a short drive away. Train track directly behind area 4 with trains running at all hours, it didnt particularly bother us, but may bother someone who is a light sleeper and who would has trouble falling asleep. Cell service was non existent for us in the park.Overall we had an amazing week exploring the park and areas around and would definately recommend.

Great hiking and lots of trails. Nice beach, easily accessible, be prepared for chilly Lake Superior. Town of Marathon only 15 minutes away. Clean and well maintained washrooms and showers. Lots of bugs in July. Great sites with lots of privacy. Lots of biking within the park.

Beautiful campground in area 4. Water and toilets are well placed and each campsite has good privacy from neighbors. Great little scenic spots, and a lot of people like to bring their bikes. (Maybe well do the same next time)

Loved our five days at Neys. Second time here and its definitely a favourite. The rolling waves, the sound of the surf, the smell of water and forest...a delight for the senses. Plenty of spaces offering privacy, seclusion and shade or openness and sun so theres something for everyone. We love the hikes, too. Campers were quiet and respectful - no party animals, which is a real relief for those of us seeking R&R.

Wonderful setting with one drawback. The toilets are tiny.If you have shoulders broader than a 12 yr old then you will rub both of them on the walls of the stall. Im not sure how anyone with any small disability can use the wooden campsite ones without difficulty.(not to mention how close you sit to your neighbour)However.,!! ..the park and beach are beautiful and is well run.

Absolutely loved the place. I stayed at a cabin right on the beach. The cabin was clean, full of useful amenities and value that I did not expect. The grounds and beach were gorgeous, well-maintained, and I would definitely return here. There was one incident related to a power outage and how it was handled that briefly detracted from the experience, but beyond that, I hope to return again next year!

Neys Provincial Park is situated in the southern part of Lake Superior. Its an incredibly diversified park with long beaches, numerous campgrounds and two hiking trails through sandy forests in the northern area. The history of the area is also interesting as there was once a camp for prisoners of war. Staff is friendly and helpful. The beverage dispenser in the park didnt work when I went there, so make sure to bring your own drinks and snacks while visiting.

It’s one of the most beautiful parks in the Ontario Parks system. The hiking trails in the park are challenging, but definitely worth having a go. The two I recommended are the Pic Island Overlook (which is 4.5 km each wayand the Lookout trail located in the Section 4 campground (about 1.5 km each way). The reason I am not giving this place 5 stars was for the customer service we received at the park. The employees working in the gatehouse lacked enthusiasm and overall knowledge of the park itself which was shocking. Asking about hiking trails or canoe rentals with no definitive answers? This needs to be drastically improved upon.

Amazing provincial park. Incredible beach. Breathtaking views right from your camsite. My common complaint in the provincial parks are the electrical poles. They are ridiculously far from your trailer sometimes. This place is no exception. Its built on a WWII POW camp. Great visitor centre that has all you need to take in the history of this park. Great hiking trails that incorporate more of that history.

This park remains my favourite. Its always quiet, and clean and otherwise very well maintained. The beach is gorgeous. There are some fantastic activities, both in the park and in the surrounding area, yet the park is too far from any large town to be a party destination. Great for families, and people who want to stay in a quiet, beautiful setting. (Note: if you find the sound of the occasional train disturbing, then this park may not be for you)

Seriously, this place is heaven. We just finished the Lake Superior Circle Tour and Neys was our favorite place to camp. Peaceful, sandy beach, on the most picturesque bay. Our six year old son couldn’t stop building with the copious amounts of driftwood on the beach. A must-stay if you’re in the area!

Visited for the day - drove through and parked on a beachfront site for an hour to let the dogs get some exercise. Good size park with lots of large wooded sites. The beachfront sites werent right on the beach but each had their own private trail (about 100 feetto the beach. Beach is huge, rugged and can get pretty wavy.

Gorgeous park right on Lake Superior, Laundry, restrooms and showers, electrical sites, but the posts are a ways into the woods so not very visible, you will need extension cords they also have some available for rent.
