New York Lunch in Woonsocket

Cash only!!! Watch your change... My sister got ripped off for $5.00 yesterday by Paul the server. She gave $20.00 for a charge of $4.20 for two winers. She only got back $10.80... Supposedly, the owner Ted said there was no overages in his cash draw. No matter how you figure it the math doesnt make sense. Warning, check your change cuz they dont have an approiate register to go back to!!!

New York Lunch is a great spot to grab weiners and fries! The fries are hot, the weiners are fresh and authentic. The staff is amazingly friendly. The atmosphere takes me back to 35 years ago with a great old school diner feel. I recommend this hidden gem for weiners anytime youre in the area!

I’ve only had the wieners, and they were the best in this area by far. We came in to get take out, right as they were getting ready to close. Staff was still polite and accommodating. Great place.

Good hotdogs! I grew up in the Woonsocket, Rhode Island area, used to go here for hotdogs back in 70s and 80s! Employees here are friendly, French fries and onion rings are delicious!

We were in town for a mission trip and o brought our whole group of 15. Kids Even though they were small they took care of us like champs. We wanted to try to “RI eats” and that we did with Wieners all the way and a Del’s Frozen Lemonade (do yourself a favor and get the larger size). My only regret was not getting a Coffee Milk too!

I have been craving wieners for a while and Im still not familiar with places in the area of which I live so decided to try a new place that has been around for a long time to the residents of Woonsocket. I have to say it was pretty good.

Great place. We were looking for some New York System and came upon this place. Good food and atmosphere. Will definitely remember this place.

Have only had the grilled cheese, fries, and onion rings (vegetarian), but everything about this place is great. The food Ive had has always been delicious, the prices are fair, and the employees are always friendly. I come into Woonsocket about once a week for work, and this has become my go-to lunch spot.

A Woonsocket staple for a very long time! Excellent weiners most of the time but I have had disappointing experiences at opening time (weiners werent fresh).

The decor is fun, and this place seems popular with locals. The prices are good but the portion size is smaller so order at least 3 dogs if you are hungry. As a west coaster Im not sure I get the appeal of the hot dogs, but if they are your thing youll love this place.

I hadnt been here in years. I wanted to bring a friend that had never been there. He loves the Olneyville and Cranston NY System weiners. So I wanted to introduce him to the Woonsocket Weiner. He absolutely loved it as you can see by the smile on his face. It was exceptionally clean and the employees were so friendly and accommodating. The decor was so befitting. He even commented that the prices were much cheaper than the other places he goes too Will definitely be back soon.

Woonsocket at its finest if you want to get the vibe of Northern Rhode Island visit here. Great staff and food been going here since we were kids and now at 50 place is still great.

Wonderful place to eat . I haven’t had hot wieners in 11 years due to my move to Florida. Yum couldn’t wait to eat them . Price was good and service was even better..

This is an old-fashioned diner that specializes in Rhode Island hot wieners. Theyre fabulous. I had three, at $1.85 apiece.

Having been traveling around Southern New England trying all different wiener spots, and I was told to give this one a go. First off cash only? Nobody carries cash and I’m not about to start paying fees from your ATM and that will always cost a star for any review. Now for the food. I can say the fries were really good. The wieners were ok. The onion was cut a bit big and took over the taste a bit. The meat sauce wasn’t too flavorful but wasn’t horrible. The wiener itself was good quality and didn’t have burnt spots like some other places from sitting. Would I go again? Maybe. But since I don’t carry cash I probably won’t.

Great food, amazing service.. They let us wait inside bc it was a biggish order and we had a baby, which was very kind.. I ate a steak n cheese (extra cheese, mayo and had them cook the onions wellit was delicious!! The onion rings were cooked perfect and just the right amount of sweetness.. The wieners were fully loaded and make your mouth water.. (just how you want them🤣Still have to eat the cheesey fries and dynamite but Im sure they are just as good..It was my first time there, but I went with someone who grew up on their food & I am glad I did.. I cant wait to go back, I already want another steak and cheese!!🤣🥰

I have tried many weiner places in RI. So far this place is least my favorite. Its NOT horrible. The prices are good but the weiners are BLAND. The meat sauce needs a bit more seasoning.

A Woonsocket institution. It has been around for as long as I have been living here, which has been all 57 years of my life. Serving the best weiners and dynamites in town, or the entire state for that matter. This is the "go to" place if you have a craving for "gaggers". And I love the retro look.

This place is great. Truly a classic winner joint. The daily special, which is 3 weiners, a sm. Fry and a drink is really worth it. The buns were fresh, the meat sauce was on point and the weiner was great.

I know its easy to overlook anything that may be open on this once bustling main street, but if you try to pay attention (or backtrack if you do pass itand see the OPEN flag hanging outside, do not pass up your chance to enjoy authentic weiners and a coffee milk in tandem. The decor isnt overwhelming or gaudy but definitely evokes the history of the establishment. The waitstaff are friendly and speedy, the food is delicious, and your wallet will be happy. Simple foods, simple ingredients, major flavors, its 100 percent worth experiencing.

A must go to place in downtown Woonsocket for some classic hotdogs and the state drink of Rhode Island, a coffee milk.

I took my father here, and it was my first time here as well, specifically for the hot weiners. They are supposed to be surprisingly close to something we used to eat in Central New York when I was younger. Texas Hots. While not an exact duplicate the hot weiners were super close, and really really good. I am glad to have been able to experience the hot weiners, and thank you for bringing me nostalgia.

While vacationing with my family from Wisconsin we stopped in to the highly recommended New York Lunch. We ordered the special (3 weiners, small fry and a drinkand a dynamite (hoagie with meat, sauce, pepper and onion). We tried to have the full "Rhode Islander" experience and ordered coffee milk as our beverage. The accents of the patrons and staff were strong and service was pleasant. We enjoyed our meal simply on the fact that it was more of an experience than a delicacy. Cash only service through us off a little at the end of our meal but for two adults and two kids our total came to about $13. Lots and lots vintage diner of memorabilia for decor. If you are driving though Woonsocket and are looking for a quick cheap lunch this is a great place to go.

My kids have grown up in the city and this is their favorite spot for choices of fast food. The staff is super friendly, clean, and I love to see the smile on my kiddos face every time we go... my oldest "kid" is now 23 and still loves his wiener with the works, just as much as my husband, 17 and 11 year old. Every week after my little ones gets a haircut around the corner, we have to stop for 1 or 2 wieners.... my favorite food item here are the fries!

Hot Diggity Dog!Its nearly impossible in 2019 to find a lunch spot that has a special that gives you everything you need for under $8. 3 hotdogs with the works(meat sauce, onions, mustard, celery salt), a fountain drink, and a side of fries is more than you need to fill up before you head back to work. The decor has gone unchanged keeping with the style from back in the day. A must try when in the area.

The employees are always very sweet. If youre looking for a local place to treat your kids for $20 or less, this works. Good chicken fingers and fries and hot dogs. And lots of cool, vintage pics on the wall for everyone to talk to each other about while eating.
