New Taste - Chinese restaurant in San Juan, Puerto Rico
Great food and a very good place to chill with your loved ones. Ill return 100+ times
I had the spicy crab salad. It was very good but it is not real crab. I expected lump crab. I went back to a very good roast duck soup. I think this is a great place for a meal shared by 4+. Passion fruit green tea.
Pretty good. Vegetarian options labeled in the menu.
I personally love to go there since it’s the only place that there is I know that have authentic Chinese food. Amazing flavors, love the boba teas there is. There is so much variety!
Disgusting! When I went back to the bathroom (which is by the kitchenthere was a huge cockroach still alive trying to move around and there was one in the bathroom. The food was subpar and unseasoned and over priced.DO NOT eat here!!!!
The food was amazing. I do wish the rice portion was a little more because there was so much meat however awesome food.
I love the food here.Exquisite, A great place to come, chill out and calmy enjoy a fresh a hot plate of food, sushi, bobba tea or any other delicious cuisines. The staff is very friendly and attentive. They can get very busy but remember is a restaurant. Best of the best. Have been going here for years.
Japoneses Beer Asahi with Fresh lobster!
The food was delicious and the service was great!!! This is Cod Fish with tofu and egg plants with pollock. I recommend you to try them. They have valet parking also. Dont forget to try the bubble tea!!!
I must say the food unfortunately tasted like a fast food restaurant. I ordered Mongolian beef And the meat was very tough. The food came out cold surprisingly after waiting for approximately twenty minutes. Only one worker was very friendly. The other workers on the floor were cold and not attentive and they were only three tables to wait on while I was there. Overall this cheap tasted cheap and salty.
Went there with friends and classmates. Everyone was so nice and we loved our 蒸包子 and 蒸鱼 ! Thanks so much ❤️ The fried ice cream was also 10/10.
I had a very terrible experience with them; I wish I could give a 0. We stopped there because it was raining and we ordered some drinks and the guy who helped us was nice BUT. When we decided to get some food, it looks like the kitchen was about to close. We asked for the menu and the woman literally THROW the menu at us! Literally throw it in front of my friend. I perfectly understand the kitchen was about to close but she got an attitude and was mad at us for asking the menu. In addition she ASKED for tip: my friend paid in card she gon say; is the tip going to be cash?????? Is this how this establishment treat customers or is it specifically customers from a certain demographic????? Very unprofessional and customer service was horrible.
The best veggie sushi for vegans! Also love the eggplant dish! Fast service! Nice place+++
Please consider my review. Don’t bother if you know what Chinese food is. Those of us that have eaten Chinese food from China, NYS, San Francisco and other places know that the food from this place can be considered extremely expensive and poor.My husband said that what we were service was not worth $10.00. We were charged quite much more or beyond more. The place doesn’t represent the location. It’s hygienic environment is very poor. The taste of it’s food is as poor as well. The Condado used to have a Chinese restaurant across the street that was very good and nice. This one doesn’t represent such levels of food and service. When it comes to cocktails, don’t even bother to ask. If you go to this place (because you are stubbornask for a beer and walk away. There is a service that should be recognized: the server was very nice, and they have parking. Nothing else to be admired or said. Again; don’t bother with the place.
Great food! We had orange chicken and fried rice, it was the best I’ve had in a long time. Delicious
The service was horrible, we ordered food and we were rushed to eat outside as a paying customer I felt that he wanted us out the restaurant for no reason, the customer service was absolutely terrible would not recommend to eat there besides the fact he was rude the food wasnt very good. I would of gave this 0 stars but I guess to write a review I had to put in a star.
Delicious Chinese Food. You gotta try the Bubble Teas. Theyre very refreshing!
Excellent and authentic Chinese food. Was very impressed with the food and the wait staff was very kind and friendly.
When I park i saw the kitchen door open and saw the floor so incredibly dirty and one of the cooks smoking while cutting fish. Not eating there never will
Ive been coming to this restaurant for the past 16 years and the service, food quality and space is awesome!
My favorite place for perfect traditional Chinese food. They have amazing food, bubble tea and Dim Sum!
Its is a very overpriced Chinese restaurant and the food is worse than Panda Express in California. Cannot recommended to anyone that expect good Chinese food.
Got food to go because I didnt have time to sit. Opened it up and this tiny dish cost me 28 dollars before taxes. Shrimp two ways and a piece of lettuce. A bit ridiculous. Im happy to pay a fair price for good food but this is a rip off.
We came here specifically for dim sum. First red flag was them not even bringing us the dim sum menu, second one was them crossing off half the items on the menu.We ended up still getting a variety of dim sum but the only ones we actually enjoyed were the steamed dumplings and the bbq pork buns. The bubble tea was basic but as expected. I returned one of the dim sum items because it was legitimately gross but they wouldnt refund the cost of them.I DO NOT recommend coming here. 3 stars is probably more than they deserve.
Avoid Boba drinks here. For a simple drink it took over 10 minutes and there was no one else there. The drinks tasted like a mouth full of sugar, in my opinion. Shame, shame!RETURN FACTOR0%RECOMMEND A FRIEND FACTOR0%
Chicken breast cooked not completely, taste really nasty. But waitress told me that she only eat chicken legs, not breast! Seems like I ordered wrong by myself!
Best Cantonese restaurant in town! Very delicious, authentic and using very quality fresh materials. Had such a fulfilling meal! Will surely recommend and come back!
My girlfriend and I had a blast. Food was great and service was good. Fine selection of Asian beers, spirits and saki. If your visiting the island you must stop in at least once for good saki and sushi.
Food was fantastic. Servers were a little rude.
In my book, New Taste is one of the top sushi and Chinese places in Condado. This restaurant is a popular spot among my group of friends and family. The food is authentic Chinese/Cantonese, although they offer some americanized-chinese dishes. Dishes are all reasonably priced, considering its location.Although their basic rolls are great, my favorite sushi rolls are their house rolls: their Dark Tiger Roll, Lovers Roll, Naruto roll, and their version of the Bori-Roll (which name escapes me). I have always enjoyed the seafood soup, their Crab Rangoon, as well as their pork ribs which are amazingly delicious. They also serve boba tea, a Chinese tea which tipically has tapioca pearls in it, although admittedly not a fan of the drink in general, Ive heard great reviews from those that do enjoy it.The ambience is great. They have the options for indoor and outdoor seating. The service has always been kind and attentive. Definitely check it out if you are in the area.
I was looking for something simple for lunch, and dropped into this place. I ordered chicken chow fun, which has the wide egg noodles. It wasn’t on the menu but they had many other noodle types to select from so I asked if they had it, and it turned out they did. It was delicious, and the portion was large.
One of the best Chinese restaurants in the STATES!!! It tastes so good that it reminds me of my hometown and childhood. Highly recommend lobster and duck, no doubt the best.
Where is Gordon Ramsey when you need him? As I have now waited 45 minutes for fried rice and steam vegetables I get the sense that no one knows what they are doing. The restaurant is half full, and I see staff running around. But there is no food. Multiple tables are waiting for their order. If I wasn’t so hungry this would be comical.
This place has the most authentic Chinese food in San Juan. The roasted duck, beef chow fun and eggplant pot are must gets! We came again three days later for these three dishes. The soups were a bit overpriced at $5 a bowl and all three of the ones we tried were very salty. I recommend asking about what their daily fresh greens are and ordering that so that it will be very fresh. Overall very satisfied to find this quality of Chinese food in Puerto Rico.
Delicious smoothies, but much better Chinese food (and pricesin other restaurants on Ashford Ave.
Authentic Chinese food, lil bit overpriced, it’s more expensive than in Hawaii if you have the same food I have to say, but food was great and servers were friendly, I ordered wonton noodle soup and Mongolian beef. With a cup of boba tea.
I cant get enough! The bobba teas are great here.Itll be me and my friends favorite spot.
Drove from the airport because a friend recommended it. They had free valet parking which was a plus. It was 10pm the claim to be closed. Really poor service on their part
Super disappointed, was my #1 restaurant in PR. But now David the manager left the food service got dirty and taste very different.Today I order eggrolls. Its was 2 for 5$, super greasy, only veggies (I wanted meat), the wrap is wrapped poorly and the oil is all inside too. I couldnt eat it. I dont trash food, this is a first in a very long time.It get worst....I also ordered garlic eggplant, and it come with random pork meat that was leftover, and some lobster wisker, that they didnt cleaned off. The dish should have been just eggplants and NO RANDOM MEAT...ohh. The rice was very dried.Service was OK so 1 star.Wasted 27$ for a dirty eggplant dish, literally.
Other than the drinks, we weren’t impressed with our meals. We ordered the special lo mein, vegetable lo mein, beef and broccoli, a few orders or crab Rangoon, spring rolls, a piña colada and 2 bubble teas. I was ignored while standing at the counter to pick up, the pork was fatty, food wasn’t great, and some of our order was missing. We’d go back for drinks, but not the food.
One of the best sushi and ribs Ive tasted on the island. Dont sleep on their seafood soup, it is so good.
Dont judge from the outside. This place never disappoints. I recommend the duck.
One of the best sushi places in the Condado area. My favorite rolls are the Firework Roll, the Rainbow Roll and their Super Crunchy Roll.Other than that, their Wonton Soup is amazing for a rainy day and their hot dishes are also very good. You can always spot either local families with Chinese origins or Chinese tourists here- so you know the quality of the food is good!)(Of course, you have to keep in mind that the quality of sushi in PR cant be compared to big cities in the US such as Miami or NYC- but this place has some of the best sushi in PR).Follow me on Instagram at @omgquerico for more food recommendations in Puerto Rico!
Actual bubble tea IN San Juan!!! I was so excited to finally find a spot in the area with bubble tea. I got milk tea with coffee jelly and it really hit the spot. It wasnt too sweet and the tea strength was pretty good too. Definitely check this place out for your bubble tea fix!The owner is super nice as well and was very helpful for recommendations in San Juan.
Tried several restaurants in Condado and they were just ok. Decided to try New Taste on our last night and it was amazing! Best food we had during our vacation. Location is convenient and in a calm part of the Main Street. Food is delicious and the Bubble tea is to die for. The staff is very attentive and the food arrived in a timely manner which is very a big deal in this area. We will definitely be back on our next vacation to Puerto Rico.
The best food experience of our vacation in San Juan and we tried several restaurants during our stay. The food is absolutely delicious. The dumplings were great, the sautéd lobster is to die for and the customer service was impeccable. I will definitely visit New Taste every time I am in San Juan.
The place is amazing and beautiful. the bartender approached me on the street and showed me a wonderful dish. It was ok! But I was expecting more. Also the dessert was very nicely presentable but left something to be desired in the taste.
This is my go to place for asian food in the area. Every dish that I have ordered was excellent. They offer some off menu dishes sush as Dim Sum and Pho. My wife loves the sushi. Thursday to Sunday they offer roas pork Asians style. David the owner is always there to great you and make sure you have a pleasant dining experience along with Betty, head waitress. They have a parking in the back of the location.
Excellent food & service, fast but friendly, they have dim sum, bok choy and wanton and noodle soup that you dont find in other Chinese/ Japanese restaurantsDelicious!
Food is consistently good, service is prompt. The prices are average for the touristy location. Would definitely recommend.
