Choice wines by the glass and sharing platters in casual wine store and bar with shelves of bottles.
As both a Snobby Londoner™️ and an Italian wine enthusiast, I must say that this place is more than the sum of its parts. One may dismiss it as a corpo winehole from the outside, but inside you find lush wines, friendly staff, and an unexpectedly pleasant environment. One always judges an establishment by their cheapest wines, and their Appassimento Salerno (at £5 for 125mlis one of the most exquisite wines I’ve had in recent memory. While you’re here, do not under any circumstances pass up the Super Tuscan. It is cheese on toast, but elevated to the highest level you will experience in your mortal life.I would write more, but alas… there is more in the bottle. Toodle-oo!
A great wine bar in the city of London. I really like the setting. The cheese selection is amazing and they have a great selection of wine bu the glass which is always a positive.
A little too noisy and service hit and miss, but wines, hams and cheeses to keep you occupied! One member of staff actually listened to our preferences and gave a range of meaningful choices, the other insisted on pushing £80-£90 bottles of only french wine even though I gave a budget below, and it’s a wine shop with a global selection of bottles starting at £20. Corkage at £8 is really reasonable.Probably great when they’re really quiet, I went on a Tuesday night and they seemed run off their feet. I wanted to love it but they didn’t quite deliver.
Went here on a Thursday night and had a booking from 7. A really nice classy place for wine, great for a date. Wines were reasonably priced - you could get glasses from c. £7 but food wasnt as great value for the price; 3 cheeses or meats for £19. The cheese was lovely though but not too plentiful. Lots of wine to choose from, the bottles are priced individually, we found one for £15 which I think was the cheapest but had to pay £8 corkage.
Relaxing venue in a sea of madness . Great wine selection
Been coming here since this place opened. Its one of my favourite wine shops in London. A place Ill fondly remember for all the times Ive honed my wine tasting skills and had great times with friends for after work drinks.
Lovely wine bar with interesting selection and great service
We had a super time. Staff were excellent, friendly and fun. Consequently we all went home in party mode!
Amazing place with a good diversity of wines, from all over the world, very good advices from the staff, and delicious cheese and charcuterie boards made by chef Gonzalo.
Amazing wine bar. Fantastic that they have high end wines at reasonable prices per bottle especially compared to London restaurants. The sommeliers are very knowledgable.
Very good selection of wine. The service is excellent and the staff has a lot of knowledge on the wine they sell
One of my favorite places : the wine selection is outstanding, the staff is kind and helpful. Really, ask them for advice and youll learn about crazy unknown wine that are delicious and that youd would have totally missed otherwise like the delicious Portuguese Baga (didnt know it was a grapeI tried tonight. The food selection is great too and pairs quite nicely with the wines. Im definitely planning to go back.
8£ fee for opening a bottle. Then when you get the check it’s 13% service fee.Skip this place.
Amazing ambience. Perfect to sit, nibble something, enjoy a bottle of wine and talk with friends. Not crowded or noisy for a Friday night.
The choice of wines, the cheese and the service are excellent. The place has a nice vibe and I will definitely go back.
Very good selection of wine! Thank you for looking after us!
Beautiful wine bar, city prices but great selection of wine and nibbles and lovely atmosphere
Superb place for any wine enthusiast, an amazing wine selection to choose from . A little gorgeous bar for lovers of wine in the city. Accessible from Liverpool street station. Staff polite and helpful. It’s become a regular for the odd days when I meet up there.
Dont ask questions. Just go. Worth it. Snack food also available. It can get pricey though, depends on how much you like fine wine.
Great wine selection! Always interesting wines by the glass. Usually busy after work. Food is more snack/tapas like, but nice. Staff are usually knowledgeable.
Popped in with a few co-workers during the afternoon. Quite dead around 3pm but really nice looking inside with high ceilings. You can choose wines by the glass/bottle from the menu or browse the shelves. I blew my co-workers minds with an older Burgundy that was really well priced at around 120 pounds. The server was really helpful and engaging. We also got a meat and cheese plate, which paired well with the Pinot and a funky white from the menu. Overall a great experience.
My new favorite wine bar, with friendly and attentive service, amazing wine selection, lots of character, trendy crowd, central location... What else could one ask for?.... A must visit!
Our night at New Street Wine was fantastic, both my guest and I appreciated the extra effort the team went to ensure we had a great night!Having worked in advertising for the restaurant industry internationally for a number of years I know how rare this can be for many venues and I am grateful to your team for that.I look forward to returning to another D&D restaurant soon.
Having heard great things about this bar, a colleague and I decided to visit this evening. We were turned away rudely by staff as we didn’t have a booking. We asked politely if we could wait for a table to become available, the male staff turned angry and asked us to leave immediately. Having worked in the city for ten years, this is the first time I have experienced such hostility for going into a bar without reservation. Very disappointing.
Great selection of wines, would highly recommend the luddite Shiraz.
Such a great place to grab a glass of wine. Really friendly staff.
Good place, great selection of low intervention wines and great service. We loved it!!!!
Great range of wines with tasting measures at keen prices, and really good food. Lovely, knowledgeable staff and good ambience. Please dont go, its mine.
Αmazing place, warm atmosphere, very kind stuff, great quality of wine! 5/5
It has a great atmosphere and a large range of wines though many are on the pricey side but if you hunt around you will come across a reasonably priced gem.
Great find! Lovely little bar/ shop hidden away rigbt by Liverpool Street. Really good wine selection and staff very happy to help you choose. Reasonable prices as you just add £8 corkage to drink in. Tasty cheese and nibbles selection. Much nicer atmosphere than a lot of places in the area. Will definitely be back!
A great pity stop for a classy glass of wine. Sometimes obvious brands and then pleasingly non commercial varietals. Good charcuterie and attentive service. Never feels then main event.
Good wine and information about wine, I didnt have the food but it did look nice
Free corkage and a great selection of wines. Food menu limited but classy. Posh nibbles.
Good experience, good wine. Lovely music in the background to chill out after a hard work day! Be mindful of queues after work, I think its best to book. Lost a star because it took 20 minutes for any one to sit us even though there were empty seats, and an extra fifteen minutes to serve us plus a decision to walk out to another venue before we were noticed!
Good selection of wines, nice place bit cosy but probably helps the atmosphere
Great selection and really liked sitting outside, be much better if they make it no smoking though
Wine and service was excellent. The atmosphere was great! Didnt feel like my partner or I were sitting too close to the table next to us and the overall feel of the bar was friendly and inviting. The price is to be as expected at Liverpool Street: not cheap. It made a nice treat compared to the normal £4 bottles from asda.
Excellent service, both friendly and knowledgeable. The food was good and wine also. Good value overall, but a little over budget for what we were looking for for an after work Thursday drink / bite to eat. Definitely suits the area and cannot fault the quality of what they offer. Will definitely be back.
Wine was nice but the staff were a little surly, and forgot our orders at least three times. There is only.one toilet, which leads to awkward queues. There seems to be a disabled stair lift but since its base is behind two barrels and wooden doors I wouldnt out this as disabled friendly .
I have given several verbal recommendations of this bar because the staff are knowledgable, their cheese was delicious, and I was introduced to my now-favorite wine. Luckily I took a picture of my wine tasting receipt because it shows the name of the wine. It rings up as Neromaccarj. It is a red wine with intentional sediment from Sicily. Try it during a tasting!
Cosy place. Went there just before closing on a Friday so had a nice calm environment unlike bars near bye. Great selection of wines and wonderful staff.
These guys know their craft and are going to offer value for every penny you spend. Excellent, friendly service of a wide variety of wines and snacks. Look no further.
I had a very good important friend visiting from Malmö Sweden and we had a incredible night. Its a great place to chat catch up and enjoy company 👌
Great selection of wine but service is awful. Waited nearly an hour for bread...and they had the cheek to add service charge to the bill. They also add a large corkage fee. Probably wont return - there are better wine bars around london!
On this visit: just a take out of a couple of bottles after a chat with a pleasant and knowlegable sommelier. At the lower to mid end of their price range, they appear to offer pretty decent value - somewhere between what youd expect to pay at a wine merchants and a restaurant. For the top end investor/ collector fine wines (like LatourIm afraid that their mark up just doesnt make sense from the customers point of view - they over-price by an order of magnitude.
Good wine. Reasonable prices. Just add corkage to drink in.
the place is quite nice, but more they could do a bit more to create an atmosphere.I asked for a specific wine, which they knew of, but wasnt available. When we asked for advise for an alternative the waiter was nearly offended that we didnt what we wanted.he wasnt very helpful and made us feel uncomfortabletoilet facing directly on the main room, with door left open, also not great
Very knowledgeable and they were happy to go in to detail about the wines. Really enjoyed it.
Great selection of well kept wines, corkage is £8. They do nice charcuterie boards and baked Camembert to accompany your chosen tipple.
