New Delhi - Indian restaurant in Lausanne, Switzerland
New Delhi in Lausanne
Description
Privilege
The food was absolutely delecious. The best indian restaurant in lausanne.
The food is tasty for me. My friend and I have been here multiple times. We are satisfied with the food and service
MoreVery tasty food
Worst Indian restaurant in Lausanne. The Chicken Tikka Masala and Butter Chicken do not have the Indian taste that it should have.
MoreI like lamb masala very much 👍🏼
The service was very bad. The guy was rude and not great food. He was not taking orders properly and was serving food as if it was for free. The ambience was very bad!Overall experience was very very bad!!
MoreOrdered a lamb rogan josh, uncooked lamb and the curry had capsicum!! What recipe is that?? And order was incomplete. Never again.
MoreOne of our orders did not arrive by take out (despite paying for it. When called to ask for it, the person hung up on us and said it was not his problem
MoreRude person, he put eggs in the rice when we specifically said no eggs in the rice and when we told him about this he said so yuo want fried rice we said no but he still gave us.
MoreGuy handling customer was behaving very rudely.Speaking style was extremely rude.He came with food and bangged the food on table as if we were beggars n he gave us food for free.Taste was also not good.Food was costly and not tasty .I can say it was below average. But being customers that is not the way u treat customer by banging the food plate on the table.Worst experience with the guy in restaurant.
Morefood 9/10 but unfortunately the ambiance ist not so
We decided to go there because of the reviews but it was totally bad experience. They made everything Daal Makhani,Shahi Paneer even veg raita it was all sweet...Not at all tasty , no Tandoori rotis only Naan... overall not at all good experience.
MoreWe did a resevation with the application called Le Fork with 50% discount but when they gave us the bill they didnt apply any discount. I show them the resevation with the discount and the give us the new bill and I said that the discount was not correct in the bill. In this moment they told us that the discount is not updated in the application and they only apply to us a discount by 30% and this discount is not applicable to the riz. At the end they did the 30% discount to the following plates: Lamb Masala, Poulet Korma and Nan Fromage. They didnt apply any discount to the Riz Basmati and in the Fork application this is not indicated. Our recomendation is that you need to confirm before order anything that they are going to apply the expected discount to avoid surprises at the end when you are going to pay. Best regards.
MoreI ordered through Ubereats and called beforehand if they will include raita on my biryani order and they said YES YES I will get your name so I can note it when we receive the order. On top of that I included it in Ubereats notes. The order didnt came with raita and when I called the restaurant, they just hang up. Very unprofessional.
MoreVery bad food, this restaurant is Spoiling indian food reputation in switzerland. After eating a meal i felt like vomiting, very cheap service.i saw a spiders web rite next to my table.no safety mesures for this pandemic time. For the people who love indian food and for the people who want to try indian cuisine, as a indian i will not suggest this restaurant.
MoreIf you are looking for authentic indian food, this might not be the right place for you. Dahl was missing flavor, beef was ok and the vegetable curry was a mixture of all veggies with little haldi and cardamon .The paneer was served with an artifical red sauce i have never seen before and i lived several yrs in India. Serving time was super fast. The best part of the meal was the garlic naan. Service unfriendly I dont understand the good ratings.
MoreThis restaurant has nothing to do with Indian food. To me it appeared that they just mixed something together with colors and voila. No flavors, food tasted as if not cooked fresh. I couldn’t eat anything and regretted visiting the place.
MoreExtremely rude: I had to modify my reservation on the phone and the person on the phone rudely said yes and just hung up while I was still talking. The food was not salty and spicy enough for all my friends and me. I forgot an umbrella in the restaurant so I called the restaurant and someone confirmed that he found it, I came back two days later and his collegue made me understand that it was not his problem and just told me that it was gone when I kindly asked him to simply check. Overall a bad experienced.
MoreOk, so I really dont understand this place. As an Indian myself, Id like to think I know my native dishes pretty well. I have ordered 2x from New Delhi. Both times I received completely different dishes to what I ordered. The 1st time I wasnt too bothered - was so hungry and just wanted to eat, the food was actually really good and the naans were great - additionally they gave extra quantity - jackpot! The 2nd order, again incorrect dish but really by far incorrect - not even the selected meat was correct. The meat was not even good. The quantity was half of a normal portion. The naans were looking really bad I had to throw them away. My partner was really annoyed at this point - knowing we just wasted chf80 on food we had to throw away. I have seen what goes on behind the scenes of restaurants - and it really feels like the dishes we received were left over food - they couldnt be bothered to cook the food we ordered and instead they sent us replacement dishes that were just readily available probably assuming we wouldnt even know the difference.
MoreThe food was horrible. Daal makhni had chana daal and urad daal mixed, and no flavor at all. Paneer masala was hard rubbery cubes of paneer in a sauce made with red color and some weird paste. No onions, spices whatsoever.
MoreDreamy and authentic. New Delhi restaurant represents the epitome of hospitality and comfort vibes.
MoreYou can not trust them. We had a reservation and arrived on time. There were no place for us! Even after 45min waiting, they couldnt manage that! Their behavior was terrible too! We never go to this restaurant again!
MoreNot a good experience after all... The restaurant is not for Indians as you are ill treated here and if you still venture out be sure to ask for cutlery and you will be asked why or be ready to be left when you are giving the food order... 😂😂😂 I would say half the food was good as the rest was never served. The food still tastes good. Unfortunate, that the restaurant does not have any manners and makes it no good for a hospitality industry.
MoreNew Delhi restaurant has excellent food and very much the best indian food in Lausanne. Rahman is the best owner and treats every customer as own family guest. The ambience is above par with very nice Indian decor and warm wooden tables and chairs. The food menu is extremely delicious, served hot and direct from the kitchen instantly. Highly suggest this place to everyone. 5 stars!
MoreReally nice place. Host is amazing and super friendly.
Very nice food.It was totally healthy food and full of test.we will reserve another table after my trip.
MoreExcellent food n quick service, but small portion n lack cozy atmosphere. Also, ladies (toilet), rather neglected. Didnt even have toilet paper.
MoreStandard food, pretty tasty but nothing special. Service was very fast but impersonal, not friendly at all.
MoreVery tasty food for indians in lausanne. Quantity and quality is good and enough for a single person. Very attending staff. Enjoyed eating here for my short trip of 2 weeks
MoreIts really nice place and serve a real Indian food .. we enjoyed our night there ... The place is a bit small, but its in total good.. I recommend it for couples and families
MoreI have been here multiple times during my stay here at Lausanne. Place is amazing with quick service and staff are very courteous. Mr Raman manages well and knows the tastes of the customer and can double up as a local guide as well. Must visit for Indian delicacies.
MoreVisited the restaurant in May/June. The staff wasn’t at all friendly. Other non Indian customers were treated properly and timely. Rice is included with the dish, but we had special ask for it. Food was surprisingly good and tasty.
MoreBest Indian food I’ve had in Europe. Tons of options, comes with rice and the naan was absolutely delicious. I recommend the Chai Tea as well! Clearly homemade and tasted amazing. Will definitely go back.
MoreIt took nearly an hour to bring the food despite being the only ones in the restaurant and when it did come out, it was already cold! Lastly, they charged for the deposit on the glass bottles but then refused to return the deposit when the bottles were returned. Very unfriendly staff!!
MoreI ordered take away and didn’t get what I wanted. I got something more expensive and by far not enough for the price I payed. Would not recommend it!!
MoreGreat Idian restaurant. I went with my friends, and each time, I had a good dinner. Staff is very friendly and I was totally satisfied with the flavors of dishes.
MoreVery bad service n attitude. Taste of the food was bad too. The Naan was half cooked n when brought to waiter notice, he said he cant help and dint replace that. Also he added the charge for that garlic naan which I did not touch. Its Bangladeshi restaurant spoiling Indias name. They have only two servers. One of them manages cooking , serving, cleaning etc. Definitely a place on your avoid lists if you are looking for a pleasant experience n good food.
MoreThis has nothing to do with indian food ! I ordered butter chicken and my husband ordered chicken tekka. And the food was really tasteless. Even the rice was bad ! The food was already cooked and he just heated it in microwave not wearing any gloves or proper clothes for kitchen. I would really give them zero if i can !
MoreBeing an Indian, I must say this has been the WORST Indian food experience so far in my life. The food lacked flavor, freshness, consistency and was undercooked or burnt. A simple basic dish like dal makhani was served as hard, raw and uncooked green sprouts instead of actual dal (what a shame!). The naan bread was disappointingly burnt. Everything was extremely salty. The only saving grace was the water/drinks. Spices and flavors were evidently missing. Service was quite unprofessional and slow, which I have never experienced before in Lausanne. If you want to spoil your mood, evening, palate and spend your hard-earned money on non-fresh, frozen- reheated cheap food, this is a perfect place!
MoreHad a relishing high quality authentic Indian food at a nominal price. Great hospitality and service by the restaurant. A must visit hotel, when you visit Lausanne, Switzerland.
MoreHi allThis is must try restaurant in Lausane if you have craving for indian food .Chicken tikka and lamb roughan gosht is very tasty.
MoreFood is OK not sure whether it is authentic Indian restaurant. Chapati was like ready to eat chapatis available in supermarket
MoreFast service and all right food. Naan was excellent. Vindaloo was ok but not very spicy and rather plain. Prices in Switzerland are HIGH and this place is no exception. Payed 35CHF for food and a beer.
MoreI visit this restaurant on regular basis. Cosy ambience freindly staff And Excellent food. Definitely recommend!
Morelast Friday i had a grate dinner in this restaurant.food was so yummy yummy . i was looking for an Indian dinner in lausanne in Switzerland. next time i will back again.
MoreNew Delhi Rahman indian food corner is very good for delicious food.we will back again. me and my wife is very happy for the price and food.thank you guys.
MoreGood place for Indian food. Really liked the Dal palak. Liked the hospitality of the hotel members. At last you get a great tea.
MoreStaff was nice, food was good, a little spicy, and prices were okay for Switzerland, though you can find better Indians for similar prices, if you are lucky. A few regulars drink their beers and wine glasses from 6 PM. Pictures of the place are better than the actual, but its clean. They could improve it if they hid those awful LEDs.
MorePoor service and worst food I ever had in my life. The first meal I made was better than the food i had here. Chicken was chewy, i told the waiter, he smiled and left. Even rice was bad there so one could imagine
MoreReal traditional Indian cuisine, good portions and great taste. One negative point is that they do not have a tandoor oven, therefore naans arent good. The waiters were very kind and accommodating. We will be coming again.
