New Cross Inn Hostel - London Hostel - in Tagta, Turkmenistan
New Cross: talk about that old school SE London spirit, couldn’t help but feel like a local…
Prison-style Hostel, most Staff members stay in character throughout the day, what an experience.
It ain’t for spoiled teens, or pretend budget travelers, to stay here you gotta be a navigated backpackers, too bad they don’t make many of those anymore…
Endurance, discipline and self-control, if you think you got what it takes, rise up to the challenge and book!
DO NOT STAY HERE IF YOU CAN AFFORD BETTERPlanned on a week but could only bear to stay for 3 nights. Mold everywhere, leaky ceiling, room smelled of feet and body oder and rude staff one member was even threatening a customer with violence so loudly it woke me and my room mates up late at night,When trying to check in I had to sit outside on the side walk with my luggage before being allowed inside. Staff constantly waking everyone up in the middle of the night. Ive slept in subway cars in better conditions then this place..
dometry very dirty. staff very rude behave check in 4:00 oclock evening check out 11:00. Batter dont go stay thare. Waste your hard earn money. Now raining seson they dont care you im reach at hotel 12:00 Oclock but check in 4:00 Oclock im standing outside hostel in winter and rain. Very bad experience... .. Im travling 10 country but this 1st hostel see like this dirty rude behave. My suggestion dont book this hostel.
Gritty neighborhood with plenty going on, the Hostel fits in perfectly, not for everybody.
This is the kind of spot where you can still sit down with your fellow traveler and exchange war stories, a blast from the past!
Breakfast is a game changer, elevates this place beyond 5.
The Manager is the most picturesque individual you’ll ever meet, great fun as long as you behave, ruthless if you don’t...
Worst experience in my intire life 😪. Completely rude, if you could choose between this place and sleep on the streets, the streets will be better.
The area features plenty of food options, diverse and quirky, just like the Hostel
Perfect after a night out nearby, it is literally across the street from the Venue, next to a couple of lively pubs and within reach of public transportation.
Hipsters beware: This is not your kind of Hostel, you get what you pay for, no more, no less, do not expect a palace for the price of a manger .
It’s rather simple, really: Sleep here, save some money, go have fun somewhere else with the money you saved.
everything wrong about this placethey kicked out me the room i paid, sent me another room all my stuff took without my permission pilled inside a pocket etc, they lost some of my stuff.when you checkin i wait outside at cold long time nobody open door, somehow got in because other people use the main entrance.again wait entrance like 1 hour nobody did their job!!! finallly hines reach their crown and look at me as superior and charge me cash without saying anything, because they are the magnificent rulers !!!!!sorry to forget to mention, they charge everything in advance, if i only paid small amount I would immediately left this shi*holethey are horrible people, not able to communicate.when you get in even for key of room they charge you 10 pound, need a locket space (room doesnt support every person even better doesnt have locket inside1 pound day rent and key again 10 pound.next time i never go a place like this. search carefully
some personal are very rude, he entered swearing and shouting in to my room and he got mad when i asked him to leave cause i was half naked covering with my duvet in my bed....
My god where do I begin. Was supposed to stay 3 nights but could only do 2. The reason for that was because one morning, the receptionist, white guy with a jamaican theme, decided to help himself into my room and started shouting and swearing at me while I was still in my sleepwear in bed because I had a closed container of chocolate I was taking back to the states. I understand no food but it’s not like it’s a kebab. Horrible customer service and would only recommend if you want workers coming into your room when you’re half naked (which is illegal btw). Worst experience I’ve ever had at a “hotel” and couldn’t pay me anything to come back again. Horrible.
Such an easy commute from London Bridge, it’s like being in the middle of it all without having to pay a premium.
If you listened to some of these folks, you’d think is a slum, in all honesty that could not be farther from the truth, this is a decent, extremely cheap alternative to Hotel living that will allow you to set aside the extra you’ll need to go explore the City!!!
Don’t come here looking for a 5 stars experience, it just ain’t that kind of place, save some money, have some fun, take it easy and don’t expect more than you should!
If you want to gather some juicy anecdotes for that travel blog you are writing this is exactly where you want to be, it will provide you with an endless supply of stories! !!
to say that is minimalistic would’n really do it enough justice, bare is probably a better word for it, still perfect if you are on a budget and don’t mind a little shabbiness.
Not a fan of the area, too many pubs and bars, too much noise, this place, however does work as long as you request a quiet room on the upper floors. !!
While it isn’t exactly the most easy going spot in South London, I’d say that you get what you pay for, perhaps even a little extra: breakfast really is a humongous plus. !!
Is it the coolest Hostel in London? Maybe, it definitely is the cheapest, thank you guys!
I was staying at the hostel with my 33 students. We had read opinions before we decided to book a place, they were mostly negative, however, being on a tight budget, we decided to try. The place looks attractive from the outside, especially at night. And thats the end of pluses. We dont complain about the noise from the nearby pub, as we were warned by the previous guests, we didnt mind queuing to have a shower, as we were also informed about 3 working dirty toilets in the whole place, but what was unacceptable, it was boorishness and agressive tone of the receptionist, when I asked him to check a bunk bed of my student because of safety reasons. To make matter worse, a few students were bitten by bugs during the stay and had to be treated by a dermatologist after coming back from the trip. I will definitely not stay in this place again.
EXTREMELY LOUD!!The hostel is located above a bar with walls approximately the thickness of extra thin paper. The music in the rooms on the first floor is still so loud you can basically hear every single word they’re singing. Also the beds are literally vibrating from the bass. Writing this since I can’t sleep because of a fricking heavy metal band playing, this is driving me insane. The hostel is super cheap so you get what you pay for but you do pay with your sanity. Just a warning in case you wanted to actually *sleep* there.I’m cheap so I’d potentially come back but with a bulk of earplugs and noise cancelling earphones too.
The Staff was super helpful, they had nutella and pastries for breakfast, do I need to add anything else? Go with an open mind and you won’t regret it.!!!
Not for everybody, it has grit and shabbiness to spare, personally I found it perfect, if only people bothered to read.!!!!
Terrible service!Just dont call, because they will treat you like a piece of ___ Service is very bad, there is no working staff during the day, hostel is miserable even though rooms are not that bad (which is understandable considering price/qualitybut customer service on the phone is the worst Ive ever spoken to. I wont be coming back.
Ethnic food, cafes an artsy vibe and the Goldsmith Campus make the area just too intriguing not to be explored, gotta feed that wanderlust gene!!!!!
Personally I don’t recommend here to stay, but you could have a “unique” experience.①Bath1 : I checked many reviews which are written over two months ago, showers were out of the order. I couldn’t still use many of them. The owner has to fix them as soon as possible cuz 80 ppl stay here.②Bath2 : On the website, they say shampoo and body gel will be provided, but no. Maybe receptionists would give them if you can see them fortunately, but I couldn’t meet them even I rang a bell several times at 8 p.m. Please bring towel, shampoo and body gel by yourself.③Location: We can’t find many good restaurants around here, so you should have a meal at central London if you can, the hostel location is not that bad to stay though.④Kitchen: I could see many flies in the kitchen. I can tell the cleaners tries to make here clean, but it is not perfect at all.⑤Bed: the bed is wooden one, so it is quite easy to shake when somebody moves. I couldn’t sleep well. These are my “personal” experience. If you don’t care about the information above, you would enjoy this place with your journey.Looking forward to hearing from owner what kind of reply he/she gives me.Thank you.
Absolutely disgusting customer service, was told that wed be able to leave luggage before checking in, tried phoning and ringing door bell for a good hour without any answer even though clearly someone was there. Are little get away has ended in complete disaster as was told wed be able to park the car outside although on arrival appears to only be short stay with no carparking facilities available. Upon talking to police officers they said that your accommodation is definitely not suited for children although stated on advertising. Accommodation looks nothing like whats on the internet. £80 now wasted as now have had to check in with a Travelodge. And half a day we will not be able to get back on making memories with children. Absolutely disgrace.
Cool neighborhood, a bus ride from the City, perfect if you wish to save, while still getting an old school South London vibe.
Bare bones, no closet space, but extremely well located, it took me a whole of 2 minutes to get to the Pub and enjoy a few pints.
I tried to stay for 3 days in this hostel, but unfortunately the hygiene and structure were bad.The bathrooms were dirty, the rooms smelled musty, the bedding was itchy...I closed the room for 5 people, none of them could stay. The breakfast was cereal, milk, bread and jam that you picked up yourself from the kitchen cupboard. The same one that had dishes in the dirty cupboard. The location is not as good as they say, the area is very strange.I had to check out and look for another location as NX LONDON was unbearable to stay in.
Horrible, dangerous and dirty place. Several bad reviews here and the hostel insists on saying that they are defamatory comments. An absurdity.
Nice rooms and friendly staff. Bed was comfortable and the music from the bar below wasnt too bad. Free breakfast was nice.
The place is terrible, mine and I couldnt stand it, we were very scared and a lot of dirt all over the space. I dont wish anyone this hosting.
The room wasnt too bad until a mouse came in. Pretty comfortable and looked relatively clean. The location is close to public transport however I didnt feel safe in this area.
Room was beautiful and very well kept, I had an enjoyable stay but was really worried about missing my pets, I wrote beforehand about this and they were kind enough to give me my own little mouse to scatter around my feet during the nights. Toilets were nice and easy to access a free toilet every time. The location is perfect for people trying to get in and out of the city centre and the constant sirens gave it a real London VIBE! Overall highly recommend 5 STARS
Great quality pillow, level with the mattress allowing no head elevation, a complimentary rat with each room, only a few stains and the floor only took 5 minutes to unstick too! The crackheads outside were very warm and welcoming and for the money it’s worth every penny! CHA-CHOW
Not allowed to eat in your room which means you can socialise with the flies in the kitchen! Nice ambient noise of sirens every 30 seconds outside while sleeping and they were even kind enough to give us a pet rat to join us in our room! Toilet didn’t flush however there was a really funny meme above it so it was all worth it. The beds were lovely apart from constant fear of death on the bottom bunk.
Staff is extremely rule, what happened to me was that my dorm mate checked in before dawn so the reception was off. They bang the door roughly from 3a.m. until 6a.m. I was slept and the noise, I thought they were robbers so I didnt open the room door. ( Which makes sense you wont open your room door to strangers at 3a.m. midnight.)Until the next day the staff and the couple asked me why didnt unlock the door and blamed on me. The staff even throwing a tantrum on me with other matter.First, I am not your door boy. I paid for my holiday. I have no responsibility to unlock the door for your customer. Especially I wouldnt wake up at 3 oclock and unlock the door for strangers.Secondly, I am not a selfish guy. If the receptionist asked me politely on the previous day, I wont lock the door.Thirdly, its the receptionist duty to settle the late arrivers but you told them to find ME! Your another customer! And speak like its MY FAULT! Which I thought they were thieves until I woke up.And I had a bad sleep that night because of the noise. ( That guy keep banging the door.I should be the one who is angry. This is the worse hostel I have ever stay.
The rooms were dirty and unhygienic. Apart from that the person at the reception was non supportive and abusive. We were just 5 min late for checkout as our bags were heavy and we need to get down two floors. But the man threatened us and thrashed my trolley bag and locked it and asked for 15pounds. I kept on saying to return my bag first I will give the money but he didn’t. We even called the police but not any support from them as well.
The lady who checked us in was very nice. The rooms for me was clean and acceptable. The toilet needs improvement as it is not very clean. During the morning, I woke up to a noise from inside the ceiling which sounds like a creature scratching the wood (most likely a rat). The major issue I had in my stay was when checking out no one was at the reception and it was nearly 10am.According to their rules the reception opens at 9am, me and other guests have been waiting but no one showed up tho we have rang the bell several times and I called the number. I was lucky I did not give a deposit, like the other guests because they have to leave but they cannot take back their deposit as we all cannot check out because the reception was closed. And if you check out after 11am you will be charged with late checkout. But since we don’t have time to wait for them, we just left.To all future guests, just verify with them about the check out especially if you will be asked for a cash deposit because the staff could not show up during check out time and they get to keep your deposit especially when u have plans and need to go. I hope the hostel will own up to this and get this issue sorted for future guests.
False advertising. The hostel is so run down and dirty. Worst hostel experience of my life. Lost money from my five night stay because I could only last one night. As an avid back packer whose traveled poor areas in South America I can truly say this has been the scummiest, worst hostel yet.
We canceled because as soon as we entered we saw a mouse under some boxes in the reception. This was probably becouse the building was under construction. The place had no saftey measures and it was no appropiate place to stay. The worst part was the receptionist, he denied seeing the mouse, he was extremlly rude, and when we claimed a refund he even said "book a lawyer and see you in trail".
Same experience with below customer.Mr Andrew Block ErnstWorst place ever, Dirty bathrooms, messy bedrooms. Also the common area and the kitchen were disgusting. Horrible attention and completely non-professional.
