New Castle in Zvolen

Very impressive exhibition, nice view of the city, however, the lady at the counter is pretty arrogant. I can only speculate if it is because we are Czechs? If you are in charge of this place you should explain to her what is customer service. Also, the toilettes could be improved, the written materials contain grammatical errors but overall thumbs up and thank you!

Pekné prostredie. Veľa schodov - expozície sú na štyroch poschodiach. Pekné výhľady do okolia. Bez sprievodcu, len informačný leták.

Krásne miesto, je to bez sprievodcu, ale dostane info leták s ktorým sa dozviete všetky potrebné informácie. Cena za vstup dospelej odoby 3€, platí sa pri vstupe iba v hotovosti. Zámok má niekoľko poschodí, na každom je dostatočne čo pozerať. Na najvyššom poschodí je pekná vyhliadka na mesto Banská Štiavnica iba cez okná, ale stačí. Pod Zámkom je pár metrov platené parkovisko. V okolí hradu sú lavičky na sedenie.

Jedno z miest, ktoré sa určite oplatí si prezrieť je tento zámoček, okrem jeho jednoduchého aj keď zaujímavého pôdorysu, vás očarí jeho vyššie postavenie z ktorého získate zaujímavé výhľady na rôzne strany. Zároveň si prezriete expozíciu zbraní.

One of many attractions in Banská Štiavnica. Na Castle was built as defensive and observatory tower during the way with Turkish soldiers during medieval time. Thats also the topic for expositions inside the Castle. There are many weapons, pictures and maps explaining this difficult time of the history of this region. There are also wonderful vie from the top. I recommend coming after dark in winter time to see Calvary lit with lights. There is steep path leading towards Castle made of uneven stone which is not good for stroller. There are many stairs inside the Castle which makes it complicated for little children and elderly people. Even though there are many things to see and read about, I dont think you need to reserve more than 45 minutes for your visit. There are no guided tours there, you will be able to ask for paper guide in multiple languages, though.

Krasny zamocek s uzasnymi vyhladmi na mesto a okolie. Moznost pouzitia dalekohladu. Vnutri expozicie o historii Slovenska aj Banskej Stiavnice. Urcite treba vidiet.

the castle is situated in a beautiful city surrounded by interesting architecture and history. There are many attractions in the city located in interesting parts of the city. I highly recommend visiting this city

The castle is dedicated to exhibitions of anti-Turkish fights and there are awesome views to Banska Stiavnica city and hills around. Its pity, that it is stopped in 20 years ago (except paying in Eur- you will obtain guide of 4 papers covered by plastic with text - no speech recorded, no headphones with multiple languages, no card payment. And finally - of course and typically slovak - extra payment for parking under the hill. But the staff was nice and friendly and the exhibition very interesting.

New Castle, fortification to protect Turkish invasions in medieval times in very important mining town of Banska Stiavnica.Small entrance fee worth coming in.Inside exhibition of wars with Turkish. And amazing views over town itself and nearby Calvary.

Worth checking out if you are in the area - great views of town.

Worth to visit if you are in Banska Stiavnica. It is a small castle with nice view. So take a walk if you are near by.

Nice castle and location but boring exhibition

Another castle in Banska Stiavnica while not as majestic as the Old castle still quite impressive.

Actually a bastion, Banská Štiavnicas ladmark from the time of the Ottoman Empire invasions on Kingdom of Hungary. If youre foreigner, its not worth to go inside that much - its 70s reconstruction with four levels of really decayed, old exhibition display about the 16th and 17th century invasions to this area. Almost nothing in English but even Slovak kids would die from boredom. With fresh, new, interactive exposition this could be a great museum. On the other side, its just 2 euros. How it is now, its "just" a landmark with great history and views on Banská Štiavnica.

it is simply beautiful, especially for someone like me who studies at the University of Miskolc
