New Bo Wa Restaurant - Asian restaurant in Moree, Australia
Great quality Chinese Tucker with friendly customer service! Only down side was very limited coeliac (gluten freeoptions but they catered for us best they could and didn’t disappoint 👌 just a shame they couldn’t do a few classics like other Chinese outlets have done for us in the past.
We came for dine in and order 2 dishes. The combination sweet sour just too sweet rather than sour and for large $8 steamed rice is only enough for 2. So, we have to order another bowl. For me, the portion for $8 steam rice is too pricy. But for the sizzling mongolian beef is superb, meat so tender.
Nice meals enjoyed.
Really good food and good size dishes, very clean place, nice and friendly staff :)
Very expensive for the small amount of food we got. $17 for a small round tub of fried rice is beyond extreme. Duck was greasy, prawn toast was disappointing - spongey and chewy, beef and black bean was nice which is the only reason I gave 2 stars instead of 1. Maybe they had an off night but I wont be going back to see.
Nice feed
We ordered dinner on Sunday after craving Chinese and this really let us down. The spring rolls were good but a little over cooked, the beef and black bean tasted like over salted gravy and the rice was ok but not good.
Mediocre food, advised staff member at time of payment, disappointing meal.
I don’t come here anymore. The dish is nice, but the female chef attitude is bad. Let me feel uncomfortable. We don’t know who order one more fried rice, but they want us to pay. Yes,we decided to pay. Even we been told to waitress we will pay while we are eating. I’m not sure if waitress tell that female chef. She only stayed in kitchen, never came inside to understand what situation happened. And later,we went to reception to pay. There have a female chef waiting here. I tried to say I want to pay mine dishes first, but the female chef didn’t give me the chance to say. The chef started blame that if I can’t understand menu(here have 10 more people waiting). She showed me the menu and read the sentence of menu to me loudly, and keeps talking. Although I’m a backpacker, I already stayed in Australia for three years, no need to cranky with me. She said waitress is upset many times. But you were rude to me in front of so many people, am I not upset? I dont feel like Im being respected. And I never heard any apologize from this restaurant. This is a really awful experience that I am in Australia.
Although the dishes are delicious. But the Chinese staff told some words makes us uncomfortable. It’s the first time I’ve ever had the worst experience in the restaurant in Australia .Never come back again.
Good service good food 👍
We were told 45 minute wait after the first drink was ordered. Black bean squid was so tough it couldnt be cut with a knife. Sizzling Mongolian chicken wasnt sizzling it was just chicken resting in sauce with 3 onion pieces. The rice was like the atmosphere, warm.
Delicious food 😋 worth the wait ☺Great customer service as always.
My husband and I had a meal here on a Wednesday night. The duck was superb, extremely tender and even boned with a lovely sauce. The service on what was a busy night was also great. The food was far better than what you get at one of Melbournes most celebrated Chinese restaurants, The Flower drum. I am not kidding, we ate at the Flower Drum about 2 months ago and we’re extremely disappointed especially for the quality of the food and the amount of money that you pay for the reputation. Bo Wa is a must eat at restaurant for those staying the night or two in Moree and around. Just bloody good Excellent food
The sweet and sour pork should have been called sweet and sour batter not pork. Far too much batter.
Good food, exceptional service.
A few nights after having expensive, acceptable Chinese meals in a busy, popular Gold Coast restaurant, we came here and were blown away by the quality of the food.Having enjoyed high quality Asian meals across Asia and in major Australian cities, we can honestly say that this was excellent. The hand made spring rolls were perfectly cooked. The meat and vegetable flavours were up front and the five spice did not dominate. The sizzling Peking beef had a well balanced slow burn and the quality of the beef was superb. This was so far ahead of of the often dreaded Mongolian Lamb it wasnt funny. The master stock in the chicken Chow Mein was beautiful crafted. The chicken was beautifully cooked and the vegetables were perfect. Maybe just a tad over seasoned. One of the highlights was the fried rice - just the standard one. The dragons breath was perfect. Not greasy at all and a great part of our meal.Nothing here is trying to get a Michelin star or is a new take on a traditional meal but its fresh, delicious and expertly cooked. Servings are generous and the staff are lively and attentive. If we had paid double in Chinatown and received this, we would have been very, very pleased. What a great little restaurant and a real draw card for Moree.Looking forward to our next visit!
Great value excellent food and friendly staff.
Clean restaurant near main town area. Food very fresh. Tasty & delicious. Only note-not all meat dishes come with veges so suggest to order vege plate as well. Ate there 22.4.22. Waitress was gorgeous, professional and patient with our noisy little table of choice making chatter! Prices reasonable. Would eat there when visiting Moree again.
Great Chinese food, good choices, very friendly service.Highly recommended
Watched them on tv , went to there ! Very delicious !!!
We were told A one hour wait minimum as no staff and very busy. When asked if she be off any other restaurants in area she advised she has no idea she only lives here?? We left.
Typical Chinese restaurant. Nothing special and cost more. Service was good though.
Don’t think this is comparable to authentic Chinese restaurants in Melbourne or Sydney, but nice environment.
I avoid Chinese restaurants in Sydney but had a craving and chose this place. Didnt regret it.I wanted crispy noodle and the chow mein delivered. Big enough serving I had lunch and dinner the next day too. Cooked fresh, equal amount of meat and vegetable. The girls working there make you feel welcome even though they were quite busy.
I am always wary of Chinese Restaurants in country towns but you need have no concerns about dining at the Bo Wa in Moree. My wife and I dined there Thursday evening 19.08.2010. The dining area was closed off from the take-away order section and had a really nice presentation with tasteful decor, sparkling white table covers and soft non-traditional Chinese background music. The two Australian waitresses were smartly uniformed and very attentive. We had sate beef and button mushrooms, sliced pork birds nest, a large boiled rice, banana fritter and ice cream and deep fried ice-cream with a bottle of Oyster Bay Savignon Blanc and the bill was only $77. Thoroughly recommended.
Fantastic Restaurant with good sized flavoursome meals. Lovely atmosphere with friendly attentive staff. It was so good we visited twice in our 4day Moree stay.
Such fabulous customer service and foods so delicious!! Thumbs up!!
The staff here are absolutely beautiful kind & very helpful the meals are unbelievable so fresh & tasty Ill always go back thanks beautiful people
The staff were very friendly and accommodating towards our children. The food was yummy as well.
Disappointing Chinese food.Steamed rice was dry, beef blackbean was a pass, just. Bbq Pork plum sauce a huge fail.
Excellent Chinese Food, well priced with very large portions and jamb packed with meat , very friendly efficient helpful staff.Highly recommended and I will definitely return when in Moree.
The food portion was small for the price. Weve eaten better tasting Chinese food in other country towns. We were given our bill as soon as we finished our food. This made us feel a little unwelcome, especially as the restaurant was not at full capacity.
Favourite restaurant in town. Great food, big portions and friendly service! Just Delicious!
Oh lord what can I say! I’m speechless! I have been in this industry for 45 years I’ve travelled the world and have eaten at many restaurants and what a pleasure and joy it is to find this gym in a small country town. Was greeted by a smile and taken to my seat I very pleasant young lady and then the fun begin. The wonton soup and the dim Sims were a great start. My waitress said that I can have for fried dim Sims and for steam dim Sims and they were so delicious you can tell they were fresh and made here. Chicken chow men was so flavoursome and delicious I think it’s one of the best I’ve ever had in my life and that’s saying a lot desert I’m not even gonna tell you what I have for dessert well I have the deep-fried ice cream LOL great way to finish the night. I was so impressed that I ordered takeaway I’ll be everything I had plus a deep fried duck in lemon sauce and a special fried rice. I thoroughly recommend this place if you’re ever in town definitely worth it. My waitress Jody was spectacular very pleasant very informative and very professional. Kudos to this place
This restaurant was recommended by a fellow caravanner. We found the service ok and the food was average compared to many others we have tried around Australia.
Best Chinese meal we have had in along time.Lovely service.
First time there today missus really wanted Chinese hit the place up great young girl served us we ate in really great meals !!!
As a frequent patron of Chinese restaurants in Sydney, I was very apprehensive about trying this restaurant. However, it was decent. It doesnt compare to the quality of Chinese restaurants in Sydney, but I was pleasantly surprised and would go again if I had a strong urge for Asian food and was in the area. Excellent service which earns a star all on its own. Not crazy expensive prices.
The food was amazing, the best Chinese I have had in a while, the staff were very friendly and for a small country town the over all experience was amazing.
Tried this restaurant twice but not impressed at all. The food is ordinary and the chicken wings are absolutely disgusting. Salt overload in most of the food. Wont be going back for a third time and will look for a better restaurant.
Im a local so somewhat biased. Have always enjoyed the food & atmosphere at Bo-Wa. Always clean with helpful friendly wait staff & owners. Have had many celebrations here over the years.
The food was good and the order fille correctly. Surprisingly expensive for chinese with roughly $24 per main dish.
We ordered takeaway and were told it would be a 30 minute wait it was ONE HOUR. whilst the meal was pleasant it was not worth the hour long wait. We will not be back
Great dining experience by rural town standards. Very typical and regular Chinese dishes (not those Chinese seafood restaurants with live fish tanks), nothing over the top but its not necessarily a bad thing as you know what to expect. After a few days of pub foods, fast foods and mediocre takeaways, a nice and cosy sit down dinner with great table service was a perfect way to end the day.
Stopped going here about 12 months ago due to the quality of the food or lack there of,decided to give the place another go tonight and what a disappointment it was, again like 12 months ago food was bland very bland, clearly tasteless months possibly years old frozen bland vegetables were used in all dishes, the honey chicken again was bland flavourless rubbish, the "honey sauce" was clearly watered down and tasted like vinegar, the beef in black bean was tasteless had no black bean sauce flavour and again mixed with old soggy bland frozen vegetables, combination chow mein was the worst thing Ive ever tasted with pre cooked roasted BBQ chicken being used in the recipe and nothing cooked fresh, needless to say the cat and dog ate well tonight, the owners need to sit down and taste the rubbish being served if this is the New Bo Wa then perhaps Moree needs an even Newer New Bo Wa.......AVOID AT ALL COST.
Good food tasted great definitely eat here again - friendly staff
Ate there about 30 years ago when I was a kid. Too my kids back as we came through on a road trip. Hasn’t changed. Good food. Worth a visit. Busy night, so service was a bit slow.
My husband and myself dined there on Friday night after a long drive from sydney, price of food was reasonable, the service was friendly but the food was very ordinary and I mean ordinary bland and quite frankly tasteless, cant wait to get home to some decent restaurants.
Best Chinese Ive had in along while.Food, quality, cleanisiness, and service worth 6 stars.John & Valerie from gold coastreccomend and enjoy or you miss out
