Trendy late-night venue offering a full bar with nightly live indie bands in a laid-back atmosphere.
Not a good venue. The bar is dirty and run down. Not enough room for a venue. Had to stand for a show and could barely see the stage. Bouncers were rude and very aggressive. Would give zero stars if I could.
Place is dirty and staff rude. Would not go again.
The Neurolux is always a great time for music and drinks. Every show I have attended there has been sold out, but you don’t feel like it’s over crowded. It’s like you are attending a private show. The bartenders are all great and they have a wide selection to choose from. It’s a place a check regularly for shows as I have never had a bad experience there.
Bad Service Rude Bartenders. Cant make Certain Drinks!! Wont be Back until they get bartenders who can deliver Good Drinks and dont talk back for the Customer!!!
Great bar great music
Voted one of the best Rock bars in the country, love the patio when the weather is warm. Saturday nights stop in and listen to the best D.J. in town Bodi. ❤️
Great bar with East Berlin speakeasy undertones.
One of the best places to see live music. The sound system is great and the staff while usually busy during a show are professional and do a great job of keeping up. Also the coolest jukebox in town.
Its a shame because the bar itself is actually really cool. But some of the staff are quite immature. They claim to be all inclusive... as long as you go along with their agenda. Prime example of identity politics run amok. Theres plenty of other better bars around.
Seems nice but wouldnt let my friends in because one of them didnt have their ID on them, even though they are like 40 years old lol. They went back and got their ID and still werent allowed in. Would recommend going somewhere else, as was recommended by the bar owner himself.
Staff is extremely professional and gifted at knowing what patrons to serve and who needs to go home. Highly recommend, 6/5 stars.
These guys were d-bags to Deron Miller (CKY, 96 Bitter Beingsfor no reason. Dont visit this establishment.
If u wanna go into the 70s go here. Its a Amazing atmosphere and wonderful service
Neurolux has been one of my favorite bars throughout my drinking life.Pleasant atmosphere. The outdoor patio where smoking is allowed is a nice place to sit with a great view of the tall buildings of Boises downtown. In June they display proudly a wide variety of the flags representing those who make up the LGBTQ community. This is because the neurolux and its patrons are kind people who support all the different kinds of folk who come to hang out.
Unique fun venue. Has an Old Vegas feel. Great place to see a show.
Dont go here if you have a problem with good music and easy vibes.
The bartenders are knowledgeable, friendly and the top shelf drinks dont break the bank. The patio is prime people watching and the companys not bad either
Old-school lounge with no pretense. Just great music and dancing.
Weve only been to experience the bar, havent seen a show yet. A good variety of craft and domestic beer at reasonable prices. Bartenders have been friendly and quick with each visit. Its always fun to play some pinball while enjoying a few drinks.
Had a great time at the show!! Boot Juice was awesome!!! You guys put on a amazing show so full of energy!! Loved it!! Pictures dont do ya any justice!! Keep up the great work!
Great place to catch a show people dont know about. Drink prices are cheap!
Best bar and venue in Boise. Period. Staff is great. Drinks are cheap. Seen some of the most incredible and intimate shows in my life within the confines of the neurolux. I’d give it six stars if google would let me.
This place is pretty great. Ive only been here twice. Once for a show to see Delta Bombers and then to a burlesque show with live music.Typical type bar, good service, clean bathrooms, and a great place to see smaller performances.
Advertised as a place of all-inclusiveness, just as long as your ideologies align with theirs. If not, theyll refuse you service and kick you out. Avoid at all costs.
This is basically a review of the sound guy. Saw a couple shows during Treefort and the sound was awful! During Habibi, the band was asking for some adjustments and the sound guy (through the speakersrudely told them to just play because they were running late already(because they were waiting for the audio to be fixedVery disrespectful and incompetent sound guy
Awesome bartenders, great cocktails, and super fun venue. Nothing like it in the area
Super quick service here! The vibe is very low key and I love it! Makes me feel like Im in a movie or somethin haha! They also always have the best shows going on here! So much fun
Best servers and bartenders downtown. Outdoor seating is fun. Jukebox has a good variety when theres no live entertainment. Wide age range of customers.
The most wheelchair accessible music venue Ive been to so far. You can go anywhere walking patrons can, including the bar, dance floor, tables, and bathrooms. The tables are placed far enough apart to easily make it through the seating area too!Aside from accessibility, the place was very clean and the staff were super awesome. I love how intimate the place feels for live music. Ill definitely be going back.
Very friendly staff. Great bartenders. Great music and atmosphere. I want to give them six stars because they are hosting Cults in February ‘22. 10/10
Day drinking at neurolux. Happy hour 1200- 1900. Cute bartender, $5 bloody marry. This is more of a night spot and patio seating is limited but I imagine most of you wont go here at 1400 on a Saturday. Cheers!
The BEST bloody marys!!!! Nice environment with an eclectic group of patrons. Large variety of live music. Also love the outdoor seating- but mostly tje bloody marys!
First time there. The service was ok. Could have had another server on the floor. I had a friend in a band playing. Acoustics was pretty good for being a smaller venue. Overall a good experience, would have been better if they served food or had a food truck or something.
Great vibe, very comfortable seating. Great bartenders and staff. Can get a little crowded for some shows so I would recommend getting there early to grab a seat/table if you like your space.
It had been 25 yrs since I had a drink in this fine bar. Thanks to a friend of mine Megan, she was the reason I came back. I will not wait another 25 yrs, thats a promise. Great place and good people!
The Neurolux is a local bar that offers tasty live music with a lively dance floor, strong cheap drinks, a patio with a view, a game area and lots of seating for you and your friends. I would say that this bar attracts creative radical thinkers who exude independent individualism and/or long time North End locals. I typically go to this bar on my own and I always find my way to an enjoyable conversation or make my way to dance floor where I can enjoy myself without being groped. This is not a flashy bar (save The Crown). In fact, it verges on downtown dive bar. However, the company and great tunes far make up for the dimly lit comfort cavern which is the Lux.
Yeah Ill give it 5 stars! But seriously Google maps! You are kind of a nosy fukker following me around asking me what I think of this place or that one. Maybe mind your own business once in a while!JK! Neurolux is great and I like the people that frequent the joint!
Fun place to go to see bands that aren’t usually playing in the big venues. I’ve seen some shows here with bands that will forever be my favorites. Thank you lux for introducing me. The atmosphere is dark, and the vibe is low key. The interior is retro, and super fun looking. The patio is a tad small in width, and when leaving your inundated with cigarette smoke. I don’t pay much attention to it as it’s your choice to hang on the patio or not. I’ve made many a friend here, most everyone is nice and will converse with you. Check it out if you like beer, conversation, and relaxation.
Went on a Tuesday was a pretty mellow bar. Bartender was very nice, drinks were very cheap! Have a pool table, two pinball machines (Elvira and ghost busters), and a jukebox!
For several years, this is the venue that I go to, to feel comfortable. Plain and simple, the best acts, the best events...the best venue in Downtown Boise!
Fun venue excellent sound. Love the hip hop amazing staff great price on coronas
Great atmosphere, they get live music but also have a jukebox with a nice alternative/old school selection. A few beers on tap, ping pong tables and even pinball machines and pool tables. The bar is bigger than it looks. Friendly bartender.
Great Music venue. The sound is Increadable. The bar is an iconic stop for the hipster type vibe and people watching. Drink prices are reasonable and theres a patio to grab a sit outside.
Came here to see The Sword and really enjoyed the show. The facilities were nice and it was a cool setting to see a group in such close proximity. We got good drinks, service at the bar was nice, and I will definitely come here again to see bands I like.
Boises late night hipster hangout. Lots of good shows happen here. Ping pong most weekdays and pool all the time.
Not a bad place compared the rest of Downtown Boise on a weekend night. It was a good location to have a drink and talk with friends without having to yell, and didnt have to experience someone elses drama. Drinks are a bit more expensive than I anticipated they would be, but by far not the worst prices Ive paid before. Id definitely recommend taking a look around, it could grow on you if you spend a bit of an evening there.
I agree with everyone about the people being very friendly and laid-back. The bartenders and servers are super nice and helpful. However when I went to pay my tab they had me sign the slip but could not find my credit card. It turned out that they accidentally gave my card to another customer. Luckily she never use the card and she did return it two days later. By then I had cancelled my card which was somewhat of an inconvenience.. I had to go in and change all my automatic payments, stored credit cards Etc.I understand that these things happen, and the manager called me to apologize. Unfortunately because I cancelled my card he could not refund the money I spent there so instead he is mailing gift certificates. So that is just another form of proof that the management and the employees there are very kind and care about their customers. Just remember to look at the name on your card when they give it back to you! 😉
One of the best venues in town. Great sound, national acts in an intimate space. $5 bloody maries at happy hour (2-4pmare unbeatable. Couple of pinball machines to round out the offerings. Almost darker inside than outside at nighttime. Whoever books this place rules. One of the main reasons that Boise is cool.
Went on Karoke night and it was a blast...it has changed a bit since I used to stomp around there but the same Doc Martins are still present, the local punks still come to rock.Cheap beer in the can... 😉
This is a fantastic place to drink, dance, see live music, hang out with friends, sing karaoke, chill on the patio, the works! This is my favorite concert venue in Boise. The drinks are cheap but very strong, and the staff are very friendly even when theres a huge rush. Its kind of a dive bar, perfect for those who want that experience.
