Super
Nice zoo. Plenty of stade and picnic tables
Cool little zoo that we stumbled on. We went on a warm day with my 3 young kids (5,3,1without a stroller. Rented a cart. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS. there are a decent amount of hills And areas the cart couldn’t access. I ended up wearing the baby while wishing for my BOB stroller. Decent selection of animals, lots of bathrooms and food though a lot were closed today on a Tuesday. Lots of playgrounds through out also!
MoreReally great place for children and adults
If walk too slow it will take around 2 to 2.30 hrs maximum
Coolllll
I took my toddler to the zoo and we both had a blast. Our favourite part was the falcon show and the bald eagle flew just inches above my head. Almost all of the animals looked healthy (minus one monkey that was missing all of its fur). We had a stroller which was hard to push around some of the steeper parts, but still doable. I had the falcon burger at the kiosk near the falcon show and elephants and it was really good. One of the best burgers I have had in Germany. There was plenty of free parking outside of the zoo and the staff spoke English which was very helpful. I highly recommend this zoo!
MoreIdeal size, many features for children
I was very impressed by the quality of the Orangutan enclosure. The orangutans inside looked very happy and healthy.I was very unimpressed by the quality of the baboon enclosure. It looked barbaric and obviously lacked care. The dozens upon dozens of baboons inside ran around in circles against the walls looking both stressed and bored. Several appeared to be injured and majority were not pleased by the screaming children looking down upon them.As someone with a love and passion for primates, please take better care of these creatures. They might not seem as cute or friendly as our friendly great ape counterparts, but they still deserve to be treated well in captivity.
MoreBigger animals, like giraffes and elephants are in a very small cage. Other smaller animals, like deer, get a large area to run around! I would recommend the zoo to invest in a shared big area where several different animals are combined in a shared large area. This way all animals have a better place to move around. It was very sad to see some of the animals. They did have a very nice bird show, it was well done and they give a lot of information on the animals. Birds are allowed to fly free during these shows. Them coming back to the trainer says a lot to me . I doubt we would see the giraffe again, if it got the chance!
MoreNice zoo, amazing birds
It was good but most animals werent even there

Great fun and steep hills for cardio!
Always enjoy coming here with our family, especially with our granddaughter! The restrooms are kept very clean and that is so important and says a lot for the very friendly Zoo staff. The only negative issue I have is with the steep hills that have to be climbed. 😟 Enjoy your visit!
MoreGreat local zoo with snow leopards, baboons, elefants, giraffes, lions, and many other animals. Some areas closed due to renovations and COVID restrictions, but still worth a trip for a reasonable price. We paid 8.50 for adults and 4 for kids. Enjoy.
MoreIt was ok for one time but it never really amazed us. But at the food corner near the playground, we saw something alarming. We noticed that the lady, who just helped us to get something to eat, was cleaning the toilet room and cleaned the food corner with the same cloth. We ate already otherwise we would have passed. The picture is a baby owl who slept on his belly, we thought it was funny.

Surprisingly large number of exhibits for the sleepy feel.
Small but interesting
I love zoos in the USA. Had to give this a try. Enjoyed the day with family but this kind of made me sad with penned up animals. Missed the shows on our schedule unfortunately. Clean bathrooms. Food available but we didnt eat there. Convenient parking. Dreary rainy day so that probably affected animals. Good variety of animals.
MoreNice for children. Falkner show is great.
Great variety of animals, even when its cold. Reasonable prices.
Yku can walk there all day long and not to get tired. The eagle show was awesome
Invited by the grandmother of my daughter, today we were visiting the zoo in Neunkirchen. What can you see there? Tight up owls, falcons and other beautiful birds.A 50 square meter bear cage with the saddest bear I have ever seen, lying on the floor and starring at one point and a face expression like his mom and dad died yesterday. Also there is one seal swimming inside of a swimming pool back and forth. And .... a lot more..Personally, I will not visit a zoo again, because I dont want to support that kind of business/attractions.So everyone who loves animals, just dont visit zoos. This review is not specific to this specific zoo, but in general, for all zoos.
MoreWe saw a lot of animals and the playground by the picnic tables was great. Feeding the deer and goats was a highlight for the kids.
MoreThe Zoo is perfect for just a few hours, as is small. Theres one show in particular: Birds, this is amazing for kids as you interact with them.As its an old zoo, needs a few renovations.
MoreBest zoo to visit in Saarland. Always a great trip and not to expensive.
The entire zoo seemed to be quite dirty. The enclosures and animals did not look well cared for. Over all it made me sad to see the animals like that.
MoreOld, attraction that needs some investment, is a ok Sunday trip with the kids
Loved the zoo, great playground and animals. We went to the birds and they are chained up with only maybe two feet of room pretty much put on display. We left after that.
MoreVery fun zoo!!!
Really nice zoo with open areas housing the animals. The animals are healthy and happy. They have wagons for the kids to use if you don’t feel like bringing your stroller. They also have a snack bar, cash only. You can purchase tickets with cc.
MoreNice place to visit with small kids.
So many animals to see! The best of it is the bird show, the people are nice and informative, there is a cafe to get ice cream or something to eat or drink. Last time we went there was a baby kangaroo really cute.
MoreNice ZOO , fun for children
So many hills. Really hard with wagon and kids. Lots of fun stuff to see though.
Great interaction with the animals and not crowded at all. A little underkept but adds to the nature. Over all had a blast.
MoreNice small zoo. Low entrance price. Quite a few animals. Recommended to visit.
Pretty small, few animals and most of the compounds arent that nice, but overall impression is that the zoo at least is clean
Morenice place to spend a day with the family, but nothing special
The zoo was very well maintained. The animals looked well cared for and were easy to access. The most exciting part was being able to feed and pet the Giraffe and elephant. Great experience!
MoreA nice middle sized zoo. Some of the enclosures are older and need to be updated but overall it was nicer
MoreSmall but excellent for children. They can feed the elefants by hand, giraffes and see some shows. The small experiences are very well designed and effective.
Morem favourite zoo. must visit..
One of the well maintained zoos.- Animals are fed well and- Animals look healthy and taken good care of.- Its in the middle of the forest and the area is quite big compared to other zoos.- A very peaceful place to spend some time with kids and family.- There are a couple of restaurants around but never tried them.- Definitely recommended for animal lovers. I dont like zoos in general but at least the animals get proper care in this zoo rather than getting targetted by poachers in forests.
MoreMy kids loved it. There was a lot of playgrounds for the kids and there was a lot of animals. Cute eating area right outside also.
MoreBest zoo in the area. Great sea lion, elephant and falconry shows.
Very nice Zoo. The Elephant feeding was exceptional! The Orangutans were very impressive as well. It was very interesting to bring our dog to the zoo and allow her to experience all the sights and smells.
