Natural Monument Salto De Socoa - Public Baths in Monte Plata, Dominican Republic
Very nice place to visit nature, clear water river decent waterfall be prepared to descend a hill and to go back uphill so far by today August 28 entrance is 100 pesos
For those who have not enjoyed this natural beauty, I recommend it! but I inform you so that there are no surprises... entrance fee is $3 per person and $3 for parking. The route to the river is a bit difficult for those who are not used to walking or pregnant women. otherwise perfect!
Epic waterfall! The water is perfectly blue and clear. So swimmable. Very short half hour walk to the waterfall, mostly downhill with some steps.Easy to access the waterfall itself from the pool. Met some cool Estonians here, but that’s besides the point. One of many beautiful waterfalls on the island of Dominican Republic, and a must see for anyone passing through the area!Instagram @nukeyhov
Well worth the stop when heading north from Santo Domingo. The area was clean and no garbage around. Be careful on the path leading to the falls, as it can be slippery even with hiking shoes on.
Nice experience!!! But the walk was deadly.
The water is amazing and everything . The walk down and up is tough but it’s definitely an experience(they have a taxi that takes you down and up for $50pesos each person). I will definitely go again. A lot of people on weekends
Good place for christian catholic people. There were not sufficient WC provided. Because of this, the people needed to wait too much to do their personal needs. In addition, as there were not so many WC for the people, these WC were not as hygienic as expected.
What a beautiful place!I arrived at 8:30am and the water was super still and the smell of the nature was so fresh. Breathtaking experience. My family enjoyed this place very much. Inexpensive and the staff is super friendly. I recommend this place.
Had alot of fun! But was a lil scared to go under the waterfall because I cant swim and the middle is bottom less
Eazy access from the main road and a short walk to the waterfall. Magnificent relaxing and green environment!
Beautiful and natural place. Its 2 dollars per person to enter.
Whoa was super dope! I didnt get in the water wish I wouldve it was a very hot day. But I had a blast! Make sure you have good walking shoes maybe plan to have slip resistant as there are some slick spots. Also light foldable chairs is a good idea and a good cooler with wheels because from parking to the site is a pretty good distance of a walk
Awesome natural swimming pool in the mountains.
Amazing place. However, if you go there, please bring some DOG FOOD with you, they are starving there .. thanks!
Very fun and water is deep
Entrance 100 DOP
Love that place. You really feel like you are in another planet..
Very nice place easy to visit. One of the beautiful waterfalls in DR.
Loved it!!
I wouldn’t recommend this for a tourist. It’s dirty, trash everywhere and it’s more of a local drinking and hangout. I came here for work reasons and no need to ever visit this place.
I love this place. I actually jumped from the waterfall. Beautiful turquoise waters. On the colder side. You must watch out for the entrance as the sign is very easy to miss and has been worn out by the rain. It is a dirt entrance and road. I would suggest having a good car as the entrance is on a steep rocky hill. Hit full speed to go up or you will get stuck. After you get to the entrance the fee is $100 Dominican Pesos per person. The walk down to the falls is also very steep and rocky. Coming up is a minor hike but tiresome none the less. The stairs, to call it that are very steep. When you reach the fall sitting space is very limited and there are many MANY rocks. There is a small area in which the water is not deep. Suitable for kids and those who cant swim. There is a rope that is available from time to time to help navigate the deep end but people often drown the rope so its not always there. The deep end however (roughly 75% of the fallsis VERY deep. I would only recommend for good swimmers. I love it. Its a beautiful serene place to relax and have a good swim!
CERRADO COVID19 CLOSEDDrove up on 19 October wasted money on expensive tolls From capital dont waste your time going till all good I seen other rivers places open so asuemd it was goodYou know what they say about assumptionI also saw recent reviews saying it was open . But I promise you its notF covid19
Natural clean waterfall, but the pedestrian road is terrible, so you must be aware walking
It was beautiful, amazing waterfall, and river. Very rural and rocky, have to be careful walking up and down the trails. There was also a local black female pig just hanging out. That was fun and interesting to see.
Very close to the capital. Less than an hour drive. Only $1 cover to get in. Ten minute hike to the waterfall. Crystal clear Waters!
Great place but to get to the river must walk alot.
Great. Nice walk through the forest between rivers and streams.
Nice River and waterfall
This is awesome!!! Wonderful delightful place, love the experience, the place, the waterfall is impressive , local food totally delicious, there are like three natural ponds, and another smaller waterfall nearby, definitely a place I should come back!!! Loved itttttt °°°°°°
Just absolutely Beautiful Place to Enjoy Nature and the waterfalls...
Natural beauty.Very close to main Road (Sto.Dom-Samanaabout 1km of dirt road, 4 mins hike and $75pesos per person later ($1.25usd).Gated entrance.
This place was beautiful, definitely worth the experience. You have to make your way down alot of dirt trails to make it down so be prepared. Once you make it down is beautiful.
The waterfall was very beautiful but it was not worth the trip from Santo Domingo. It was over an hour drive to get there and its in the middle of nowhere. Once there, there is no cab service and also no cell phone signal. I had to pay my Uber driver another $50 to stay with me and drive me back. There was no food either and it was a very long uphill walk back. The most disappointing thing was that the water was brown and not ideal for swimming. It was pretty to watch and take pictures but was not the waterfall lagoon experience I was expecting.
This is an amazing place to go. You can go there in any car, there is a parking space, the entrance is quite cheap (1USD/ 50 pesos).I really loved the view and the pictures I took since I arrived. Once you start walking to the river you start living the Eco experience and feeling the nature. Theres a hill you need to take before going into the river. Once you are there and get into the water youll enjoy it as a lil kid.Beware of going to far because it is quite deep. There are security ropes so youll know which places to go and something to hold up
My favorite POI in Dominican Republic. Price: 50 pesos p/p.
Its a good place if you like exploring and adventures. It was really fun for me, you need to be slightly in shape Id say to really enjoy it. The water is quite cold so its a must for a summer vacation. The waterfall is quite a sigh and you can go behind it. Behind the waterfall you can stand to get water pressure in your shoulder for some "waterfall therapy" Theres also a few hidden places. Down the river theres a pool where you can jump at if you like adrenaline. You need to know how to swimswim, theres a few hidden torrents that will try to pull you in so you better watch out if you take kids.
Very nice
Magnificent!! My family loved this place. Is just 50 DOP per adult and a 10 minutes hike down the mountain. There is a stairs part which I hated but everything else was awesome.
Excellent
Nice
Wow definitely a great place to go!! So relaxing and chill. Water is so clean
Beautiful place I love it 😍 I Recommend
the best waterfall ive seen in the country so far. they keep it clean and i can spend many hours there enjoying the cold water and the sun. entrance fee per person and per car
Beautiful and peaceful place. There are usually very few people here. There is a one dollar/person enterance fee.
Very nice river
Very calm and relaxing place to take a swim or just sit and hear the water flow
Id passed by many times but never stopped and now we decided to visit the place.Very easy access from the highway, pay 50 pesos per person and then a 5 minutes walk downhill to get to the river. The waterfall is very nice and you can swim right to the base of it. If you want you can jump from various rocks.I will definetly recommend Salto de Socoa... and its just one hour away from Santo Domingo.
If you are lucky enough and you end up being the only one there with your partner, it is the realistic version of what theists call: Paradise. It is absolutely gorgeous!! Upon arrival you will wonder how can there possibly be waterfalls there. As you make your descent from a higher elevation, the sound of the Socoa falls will invite you while remaining hidden. Once you arrive to the bottom, you will be glad you visited.
Just 50 pesos the fee, beautiful sight
Great when no crowd
