An abandoned marble quarry with a naturally formed arch & a man-made dam, both of white marble.
It was nice. Wish it wasnt closed off to the public thou. But saw some things I never saw before.
I was disappointed about part of the trail being closed. After reading some of the comments about people complaining about the cost. I am not complaining. There was no charge when i went today. It was a nice little walk. Since the main trail was closed i walked the road side to the bottom instead. Got some nice pictures.
Very Beautiful!!!! Peaceful!Great place to walk your dog. Nice trail behind the visitor center. Has restrooms. Its free but takes donations.
Beautiful park with deep natural chasm carved by water through the marble rock. Unfortunately for us the area right around the natural bridge was closed but you can still see where it goes down and under the rock.
Beautiful quarry, hiking trails, and waterfall.
So pretty. It always amazes me, the things that nature can do. The natural bridge and runway are very pretty. Its a smaller park so not as much to do and do, But worth a stop.
Very good park to take your kids. We had a lot of fun walking the nature path.
Place was closed. Just a heads up for anyone planning to visit.Check the website.
The views are amazing. It was pretty easy to walk around, no intense hiking involved.
Really cool to check out! We did a quick in and out since it was close to closing time, but the view is quite beautiful! Check out if it’s on your way, takes at least 20 mins
Very scenic place. Setting is idyllic. Its nice to look at the old marble quarry. The natural bridge itself isnt very large, but it is still pretty cool. The marble dam is also unique. Unfortunately, many of the viewing platforms were blocked off. Hopefully, they are able to open these soon.Sculpture gardens is one of a kind. Visitor center gives good info on the history of the marble quarry. They do have some nature trails in the surrounding woods as well which are also pretty nice.
Very short stop. If youve got 20 minutes and youre in the area, its worth a quick stop. Not all access points are open.
Great State Park right off of I-81 in VA! Parked at the Visitor Center and bought tickets inside to enter park..$9 a person not too bad. Natural Bridge is only a short walk down a trail with stairs..approx 15mins at a normal pace. Views of this natural structure are amazing! Lots of bench seating as well once you get down to the bridge. Did not hike any other trails as for it was becoming extremely hot outside. Highly recommend though in cooler weather!
2-3 stars. Disappointed here bc the actual natural bridge is closed down for repair or restoration, but no warning before getting there and no timeline for when or if it will reopen. It took about 10-15 minutes to check out the small visitor center which had a cool model of the quarry. Then on the part where we could walk through, er could see the marble dam and the small pond area and some cavern like areas. Those were nice to check out, but such a short walk for the drive to get there
Great place, but main area are closed now due to security issues
Very cool! Only marble dam in the US. Parts of the bridge sidewalk are under construction but still could see the gorge. Very short walk from visitor center. Beautiful scenery!
This place is amazing. Huge walls of marble and a marble waterfall. Yes I said a marble waterfall. It closes at 4:30 but you can still walk in. Its so worth it. Highly recommend.
Beautiful place for a lunch picnic. Lovely area for kids to play. Easy hiking trail with written info to keep the inquisitive ones happy.
The unique beauty at Natural Bridge is breathtaking and ever changing throughout the seasons. I consider it to a gem within my community for respite and restorative energy apart from to this, oft, sad old world.
Beautiful! Lovely little park. So neat to see the history.Little visitor center. Incredible views
Not as big as I was expecting... but still worth a look if youre driving by. Not that far off Rt 2. Some of the trails were closed off, not sure if thats a permanent or prolonged thing. Be sure to visit the sculpture garden.
Well this was a disappointing trip. I went there really wanting to see the natural bridge, and drove over an hour, to find out that it was not open to viewing. Not sure whats wrong, but the path has been blocked for at least 6 months, probably more. The drive up was pretty cool with the big rocks up 1 side and theres a pretty cool old marble dam at the top. Theres a nature trail that runs a little over a mile 1 way. Also the old mill is at the bottom of the driveway. Theres an art area with sculptures from high school kids from early 2000s. There are clean bathrooms at the visitor center at the top also. Maybe Ill be back 1 day to see the bridge and up my rating.
This was something I was really looking forward to. Unfortunately most of the trail is blocked off both ways due to safety, I understand that. But still glad I got to visit. The park ranger was very knowledgeable about the area and a joy to chat with. 😀
Beautiful state park with very unique natural bridge and butterfly nature.
The power of Mother Nature is awe inspiring. Dramatic entry to the site and an easy walk to the bridge.
Currently the trails near the bridge and falls are closed for repairs
Amazing place to check out, was very happy to make a stop here. The size of this natural wonder really only comes to life in person. Standing under this rock was breathtaking. The trail is a pretty decent size as well so its not a one and done kind of stop. Theres a few things on the trail to check out, a cave, some waterfalls. Theres also a lot of history at this location so be ready to peer a little bit into the past. Plenty of parking when I went and the welcome center is huge.
The only marble dam and natural stone bridge in North America. Marble is everywhere. If you are in the area you really need to stop and see it. Nice picnic area.
Cool place easy to access Great way to spend an hour or so if you want to get a little stroll in. Even though its closed in the fall and winter you can walk in from the outside, theres a short steep hill but its worth climbing.
Great place for an easy hike with many scenic overlooks and beautiful views of the Granite & white marble that surrounds the raging river. Perfect for a fall picnic
Good place to visit during fall. The white marble quarry and dam here is pretty interesting
Really nice! Not a lot to hike. Small. Very interesting and picturesque. Pack your lunch. Great place for a picnic.
Fun and quick sightseeing. Visited mid October and got to enjoy the beautiful foliage while seeing the natural bridge. Definitely worth a visit
Very interesting rock formations, onc a marble quarry, the river had carv d out flumes in the stone, beautiful falls over marble.
Very short walk through. Many stairs and ramps. Further down you can walk through ruins but dont plan on spending more than an hour there because you will run out of things to do. They do have a small sculpture park too. $20 per car for out of state visitors. Very beautiful and unique certainly worth at least one visit. Make a day trip of it and visit Mass Moca.
Nice place to visit, the park ranger was very helpful. Pretty easy walking but not good if you need completely flat ground. Lots of stairs but great views. Kids had a good time.
Wonderful walking trail. Easy for all ages. Amazing site to see how cavernous the formation has been cut out. No access to water that we could find though.
Fantastic this is a small tucked away beautiful state park with natural white marble arch and flume that has been carved out by rushing waters and waterfalls. The park rangers are wonderful stewards of this gem and delight in sharing the rich history, flora and fauna of the region. Be sure to go inside to see some of the great information not just on the marble quarry that is there, but on the different types of rocks, the geological history and the actual wildlife that can be found here. This is a treasure for educators and homeschoolers to bring students to..and wow them with the beauty and coolness of this natural wonder. One of the few geological formations of its kind own North America According to geologists, the parks namesake natural bridge, made of 550 million year-old bedrock marble, was carved into its iconic arch by the forces of glacial melt water over 13,000 years ago. Today, the bridge spans the bubbling Hudson Brook as it twists and tumbles through a steep 60-foot gorge--one of the best demonstrations of glacial erosion in New England.Hours for Natural Bridge State ParkPark open 9am-4:30pm daily May 15th – October 11, 20

Easy hike / walk trail mostly along the paved road which was closed to cars when we visited in November 2020. We visited on a Sunday morning and the park was fairly bereft off other hikers. Those that we saw almost all wore masks and maintained social distance
Really pretty foliage site. Landscape is guided by railings along a huge gorge. Along the paths are history plaques that talk about the site. Lots of opportunity for nature photos.
This has absolutely got to be the prettiest and most peaceful place to be in all of North Adams! It has such great breath taking views and the atmosphere is very welcoming and relaxing.I had the opportunity to go when the park was closed because of the pandemic and let me tell you!I’m certainly glad I went when I did!Not a sole in sight!I definitely recommend smoking a bowling before coming here and dazing off into the tranquil waters and rocks.Five stars for you Mother Nature!
Absolutely beautiful, well kept state park. Highly recommend for all ages. Had a blast with our dogs. Some of the bridges were closed off, so hoping to come back in the summer to see more.
This place is a gem. The entrance was gated off when we visited, so it was a quarter-mile walk up a driveway, which could be challenging for visitors with physical limitations. There are two parts to explore. First, check out the magnificent quarry. At sunset, music plays over speakers - we left before then and didnt hear it, but the acoustics must be phenomenal. Then, go see the river. The water courses through caves, under boulders, and through hollows. It is really beautiful. There are stairs and walkways, and chain-link fences to prevent falls.
Great little park with easy, short hikes, excellent facilities, and some amazing history. Practically in North Adams and family friendly to boot. Well worth a stop--especially if you can drop by at sunset to catch the Mass MoCA sound installation in the quarry.
Nice little stop with my family on our way thru town. Wasnt sure what to expect. Its small and only takes 15/20 mins to walk through the areas but its quite beautiful and really cool rock formations. Also, take the kids to visit the display inside the office/ranger station. There are some cool displays and fossils. Some fun hands on things the kids can explore. Being able to touch the beaver pelt was a highlight for sure. The folks working there that day were super knowledgeable and friendly. We were happy to pay the $5
We had a great time here. Nice family and friends outing with picnic tables available. Has some historical significance to the area and some really nice hiking/walking trails and paths. The water flowing through the chasm is very nice, but make sure to check out the old marble quarry and the marble damn. Its the only white marble damn in North America 👍
Beautiful park with lovely waterfalls and well marked walking paths to the top of the cliffs and marble natural bridge. Pay to park if you drive up to the lot, but we parked down near the entrance for no charge. If you go in the evening, you can experience the audio presentation that was installed by Mass MOCA. A cool place to check out!
This was one of my most memorable experiences in my life. The marble waterfalls and trails are so fun to explore, but the best part was the Walter Fähndlich sound installation, Music for a Quarry, that blew my mind. Perfect end to the day at Mass Moca when the sun is setting or for a romantic picnic in the evening. Highest Recommendation.
Amazing little state park with a water fall and a small sculpture park! Best part is to stay for sunset and listen to the 15 min sound installation playing daily
