The rope bridge was probably my favorite part of our visit in Northern Ireland!! Much more if a walk to the actual bridge than I expected, but very manageable. The views are stunning and the experience is one-of-a-kind! Would definitely take the time to do this again ☺️

This place is brilliant. Even better as we were all national trust members so it was free. The carpark is very accessible, the path does have some steps down to the rope bridge that are quite steep. The rope bridge its self is very steardy and has staff on either side to make sure people are safe. The island is great with infinate photo opportunities. The waters are blue too and the fishing hut is great to look at. The cafe is great as it always is at a national trust and the staff couldnt have done more for us.

Loads of fun crossing the bridge with our 4 year old. 20 minute walk to get to the rope bridge. Quite a few steep steps leading to the rope bridge. Not advisable for immobile people.Great fun.

Worth the effort to walk across the bridge. My 72 year old sister did it and loved it.

Picturesque view of the coast! Lovely place for a walk. Breathtaking views of the coast. Was not able to cross the bridge as the weather is not that kind during our visit. Will definitely come back on summer to try and cross the rope bridge.

For me, it was a long long hike to the bridge!! Of course, there were some great photo opportunities along the way which kept me going. There was a pretty big squall on the way so you should be prepared for both wind and rain. There are some long downhills and one with rock steps that are a little treacherous in the rain. The rope bridge does swing a bit in the wind and is wet but very safe even if you fell, it would contain you. It is quite the experience especially for an 80 year old!! I am still quite active as a coach and tennis player but it was still a trek and crossing the bridge I definitely had a death grip on the guide rope.😳 The steel steps leading down to the bridge is probably the most hazardous part of the journey!! We did have to wait about 10 minutes for the weather to abate so be prepared also for a wait depending on the number of people waiting to cross.

Nice but a little pricey without membership )looks like you only need to pay for the bridge across. Also dont miss the game of thrones film location in the second car park!

Wonderfully maintained by the National Trust. The guides were nice, helpful and knowledgeable. The walk to and from the car park can be a little tough in spots but soo worth it. We were lucky with the weather and the views were spectacular.

We enjoyed visiting here. The suspension/ rope bridge was only a rather small portion of the experience. The views of the cliffside coast were nice, but at this point of our Ireland trip, we had seen so many of these views already in other places. So, it was just ok overall. The bridge was a bit scary. I just kept focused ahead and talked my way through it lol

Great site. Not much to do once youre across other than push yerself to stand as close to the end as you can tolerate. The bridge crossing is easy-peasy once you stop thinking about how youd die if the ropes snapped.

Really beautiful spot. Very tranquil and peaceful. Rope bridge is the highlight, views are spectacular. Its a 1km walk from the car park to the bridge. You would want dry weather to enjoy this location. There is public toilets - but no gift shops.

Shocked have been years years ago it was much smaller and much more affordable, excuse me £10 for parking for over an hour cause that’s all the time you’ll spend here. The tickets for the actually bridge need to be pre booked so make sure you are aware otherwise you won’t get to cross in saying that those tickets are so expensive too for just crossing the bridge it’s almost £14 adult and £6.50 child 😲 shocking no one tells you there is a mother car park walking distance at which you do not have to pay. It’s great and all but not for this price I have no clue what’s happened but I see the national trust logo everywhere and I don’t know if that’s such a good thing after all.I will say that Ballintoy has a great wee playpark for the younger crowd my little one has really enjoyed it but that’s probably the only high point of it.

On a day with good weather, beautiful and relaxing. Be prepared for a long walk from carpark to the bridge and when you arrive on the other side relax and enjoy the views...

We came on a beautiful day. It is a short and easy walk to the rope bridge that takes 10 - 20 minutes depending on your walking speed.Parking is 5 pounds, tickets are sold separately.Strongly advise to buy tickets online, as you can buy them on site but need to do this via a QR code and there is no signal, and their wifi took 15 minutes to load the page to purchase tickets.

To have guaranteed parking you must book in advance that way your parking is reserved. There is a 1km walk, with spectacular views over the cliffs, until you reach the rope bridge to the island. There can be queues for crossing the bridge both ways. There are only toilets and refreshments at the car park end. Currently there is no gift shop.

Brilliant location, scenery is great, crossing the bridge well worth doing. Booked our ticket in advance, which included guided tour down to the bridge, we got Jacob, a young chap who, despite not having been a guide for long was knowledgeable and personable, but the rest of the staff helped to make the experience great.

A lot of money for a smal bridge. Is it a must on your ireland vacation? No. If you go, go with a guide, who will tell some interesting facts an tip them genourously. Book in advance.

Very beautiful place to visit.Better to book a ticket in advance they only allow private tour and very limited seats for visitors as they protect the flora and fauna.we took a public bus and get dropped at the entrance road from there the ticket centre is 10-15 mins walk. a proper road and then after ticket counter there is walkway trail for 25 mins walk to reach the rope bridge. The staff is very friendly and will allow you to take pictures on the bridge and let you pass through it. then you can continue to walk till the end of mountain and come back on the same bridge to cross and back to the visitor centre.if it is raining it will be quite tricky hence check the weather before planning a visit.

Nice experience, proves that the Americans arent the only ones who can monetize a hike! You can see the bridge itself from a nearby car park, but walking across is its own thing. We watched two people chicken out, but we had no problem. Views are then great from the old fishing island. Get tickets before getting there. We were told that they were sold out but still got some for later the same day.

An incredibly beautiful attraction which is probably overshadowed by the much more famous Giants Causeway. However in my opinion it has much better scenery and history. We were lucky to have meet Keith and Billy who work there who were very friendly and helpful and made us feel very welcome. Full of laughs and interesting information about the history and surrounding areas. The short and easy 20 minute coastal walk down to the bridge offered amazing views of Rathlin Island and parts of Scotland including the Isle of Jura. And of course the main attraction of actually crossing the bridge was far better than the famous rocks of the Giants Causeway. The views here of the Irish coastline were amazing. There was also a walk down to a disused quarry that was used in the filming of Game of Thrones. Unfortunately we didnt have time for this as our days were action packed and I didnt know this was here to do until we arrived otherwise wed have been there. Will definitely be visiting again when were back visiting Ireland. Great attraction overall. Be sure to prebook before visiting though so not to be disappointed. Keep up the good work Keith and Billy 👍🏻

Incredible experience.Must see attraction when you travel among NI.Tickets can be taken right here without online booking, whatever you like. But it is worth it to walk through the rope bridge on to the island.I felt an incredible joy and excitement!)Climbed some rocks. But, please, be careful when you jump over the rocksthis can be tricky))Or you can just find a vista point, open your Thermos with tea, and relax for a while. This part of Northern Ireland has astonishing landscapes.

A great day out! Bit expensive however, I think it was around £30 for two adults. . In saying that the area had WiFi and was well staffed ( who were all very pleasant and friendlyFantastic scenery, blue skies and crystal clear water. Was abit disappointed that the ice cream van on site didnt take card lol. Toilets were immaculate..it would be a sin not to visit at some stage if about the north coast. Fishermans cottage seems to be closed for repairs, hope to get back and see it up close. Plenty of car parking spaces although would be better if car park was tarmacked.

I cant say enough about the pleasant, helpfulness of the staff here. However, the bridge is not much. Short and so stable you dont get the thrill it must have given at one time for salmon fishermen. It is also a good 20 minute walk from the parking lot. On the other hand, the walk was beautiful and worth the cost of entry.

Amazing! As of early June 2022, they require you to sign on to their Wi-Fi to buy tickets when you arrive, if you didn’t already buy them beforehand. This can be problematic for some. They don’t take cash and they can’t charge your card on site. We took the bus from Coleraine - gorgeous drive! The walk to the bridge gets steep with lots of stone steps. Once you cross the bridge, you can walk around the small island to enjoy the spectacular views. Give yourself at least two hours total to really take your time and soak it all in. Absolutely a must when in the area.

Bruising experience but should be able to buy tickets to cross the bridge on site. Staff were very helpful, helping us to buy tickets online but the internet was slow and no phone coverage left it slightly frustrating.Only for the helpful staff would of properly left this attraction as didn’t know tickets were suppose to be pre purchased.

Its a beautiful place, but in my opinion is a bit overrated, even if you will book your session you may have to wait in a long queue, other thing is you cant really enjoy the time on the rope bridge because people behind you almost push you to go faster. I would go for a walk around that place for sure, but crossing the bridge wasnt such a amazing experience like I was thinking

At northernirelandholidays we had a different view of the Carrick-a-Rede rope bridge today. We went for a Kintra boat tour which took us up to the bridge from the sea and it a amazing to see the bridge from this viewpoint. Highly recommended to take this trip and see the cliffs and bridge.

Definitely recommend visiting but please book ahead otherwise there can be delays getting in. Amazing views of the sea, islands and wildlife. The rope bridge is definitely an experience to be had, it can get a little bit congested as you have to wait for people to come back and forth but for me it was only 5 minutes and I was just able to take the sights in whilst in the queue.

I have heard stories and I experienced it myself back in 2017 but this place often closes. I guess it opened up last Monday. Absolutely beautiful area and a simple 20-30 min walk. My grandma did it without issues. The bathrooms were really clean and the staff was friendly. Water was blue and colorful but the sun was out.Youll need to pay ahead of time online. Just makes it easier and quicker. I paid right at the entrance before I parked. The staff was right there with a QR code for wifi.

The bridge was locked at the moment, but the walk up there was still lovely, as well the view!! I recommend to stop here. For free parking or when parking near the bridge is closed, there is a free parking spot a bit higher on the hill for approximately 20 cars.

We went during covid, so the rope bridge was closed. This was my second time here in 7 years, yet both times closed. Poor luck on my end.Interesting to see how they changed the ladder to steps. Good since my fear of heights (and ladderswould have made it difficult for me to go to the bridge.Great walk and coastal views!
