Opened in 1935, this museum features Russian paintings, plus Kyrgyz folk art & crafts.
Very impressive collection of paintings and folk art. 100som per person. Staff are friendly and welcoming. They offer coat check and toilets both at no charge. Highly recommend a visit! You will be surprised how vast their collection is.
A lot of art😊Take your time to enjoy huge amount of mountain landscape paintings.
Well maintained and equipped national museum with a few special works rising above the rest. Cheap.
Beautiful Kyrgyz artwork.
Very interesting exhibition
Nice view into Kyrgistan art...historical and modern...need at least 2 hours to see all
Finally open after years of renovations! Its really good inside with perfect translations in english
National museum on square .
The museum has some interesting art work and copies of some world masterpieces. Its disappointing that phones arent allowed here while museums around the world have visitors taking their phone cameras with themselves. The museum should consider introducing a gift shop, a coffee shop and a master classes for kids and adults to make it more engaging and interesting to visit.
Lovely art. Worth a visit for sure.
Probably one of the most brilliant pieces of fine art I have seen in a while not many well known Artists most of them are unknown but still a lot of talent was seen in the paintings. An advice for someone going to one of these for the first time taking your time to figure out whats going on in the paintings is one way of enjoying art.
There are different exhibitions of paintings, photos or decorative arts. One of the biggest national museum which has great Soviet and present painters works in his founds
Loved it!!! Recommended for all the art loving people
I really enjoyed this place. It was perfect
Great Value museum. 100 som per adult. 👍
If you would like to know more about Kyrgyzstan, you definitely should visit museum.Specific atmosphere ❤️ Beautiful art works and cute watch-ladies.
Beautiful folk art (thats why its worth it), average modern art, brutalist building.
Cheap tickets, kind and polite staff, interesting arts. With one ticket you can go to all the exhibitions including Kyrgyz classic artists paintings
beautiful place for life inspirations
The exposition is still beautiful, but oh my, it has shrunk so dramatically since my childhood. I remember halls and halls full of gorgeous works, also 19 century Russian art - where is it all now? I feel so bad about this 🥺...
an amazing place to have a mental rest
Historical place
For those interested in history paintings
It was pretty good
Bishkek has very few decent museums and this is one of them. It has very limited selection of arts unless it’s a special exhibition. But it’s worth checking out, it costs pennies and will take you about 30-50 minutes.
Audio-guide is totally useless. No explanations but beautiful museum with many pieces of art.
This place blew our expectations out of the water. It is a very big, extensive gallery of art from Soviet-era artists and contemporary Kyrgyz works. The entry is 100s for adults and there is a student discount for 40s. We almost didnt go, but Im v glad we did!Especially since the history museum is closed, this is a must see!
Soviet union painters
Unfortunately, this museum was closed when I visited it (Google’s advertised opening times were a little out). I did enjoy the art sculptures on display outside, especially the abstract layered portrait of a miner.
Beautiful gallery.
Amazing paintings and big gallery
Was mind-blowing. For 100 sum there is so much to see, especially paintings from the Soviet times and tapestry.Officially you are not allowed to take photos inside but the very friendly guards invited us to take photos.
It is a really curious place for visiting.
Its rather not a Museum of Kyrgyz art, but of Soviet art. Id like to see more products by the artists of today. There should be some, I suppose?
One of very few places in Bishkek to enjoy arts!
Wide range of traditional to modern artworks, including sculpture (inside and outside), fiber arts and painting. Nominal fee for foreign nationals. Tours available including foreign language, per signage at ticket desk.
Great museum
Must be visited. Storehouse of traditional applied art.
Great collection of national paintings, carpets and sculptures. The building and the rooms could use a renovation.
Never seen such a lame museum
Good museum of fine arts
A great cultural place to visit, especially specially Central Asian culture.
Only 100c for non guided tour. Some beautiful tapestries and wonderful paintings. Good place to understand a bit more about this country.
Beautiful museum with both traditional arts, such as felt mats, and modern paintings and sculpture. A guide was available to give a tour in English, and she was very engaging, knowledgeable, and open to questions. Several people in my tour group said they could spend all day in this musuem!
Calm and peaceful, enjoy the art with no extra hussle
So wonderful museumLove it ♥So many times i walk here...
One of the citys most popular museum, what you should know before visit it:- Named as Gaspar Aitiev in honor a famous local artist, one of the first Soviet Kyrgyz artist.- Ticket price 100 soms (foreigns)- You will find a mixture of collections: Kyrgyz national, Soviet and modern art.- Different sections: Applied Arts, Sculptures, Pictorial Arts, Graphic Arts. Also, is common find temporal exhibitions of local artists.- Its a big complex, you could spend almost half day.I highly recommend visit this place.
Very nice experience! Worth a visit, I would love to present my next book around here.
A good place to get an impression of kyrgyz art, both classical and modern type. The building itself is worth a visit as an architectural example of its period. Large parts of the museum are being renovated at the moment and are thus not accessible (july 17)
Awesome museum
