National Library of Republic Of Belarus 🇧🇾
Great sight seeing place in the top of the Library. I recommend
one of the most beautiful library I have ever been .
The library has multiple quiet halls for study, very handy
Read about the way how it build
Interesting place and modern architecture.
What a unique design, didnt see anywhere in the world such a architecture
Largest library I have ever seen .,Kind of museum inside it ..There is an open Observation desk at the top of building,And best cafes below the observatory,Loved it......
Nice view from the top floor ! Books collection is also good ! Comfy place
Never been inside, but from outside is really wonderful. At night the whole library comes to live by glowing wonderful orchestrated lights.
An icon of the city of Minsk! A must for all tourists, go to the 23 floor for the view.
If you are ever in Minsk, dont forget to visit Minsk National Library.
Had very nice tour inside the library. Pleasant and knowledgeable guide.
Interesting building, nice view
Stunning views of Minsk from the top of the library. Must visit in the evening to see the colourful illumination.
Famous and biggest library in Bilarussia. We visit it today 28th/08/2019 very nice place.
Strange building with great view from the top!
This librarys was completed in 2006 and the main architectural component has the shape of a rhombicuboctahedron (with object has eight triangular and eighteen square faces, with 24 identical vertices, with one triangle and three squares meeting at eachThe height of the building is 241.5 feet (73.6 metresand weight is 115 000 tones (not including books). The building has 23 floors. The National Library can seat about 2,000 readers and features a 500-seat conference hall.
The cafe was bad service but the view is little nice
The National Library of Belarus is indeed the pride institution of the nation. This Library symbolises the wider horizon this nation wants to achieve in its intellectual, social and spiritual dimensions. Anybody who looks closly can observe these inspirations behind the building of this splendour of documented knowledge. The vast meadows descending to the wavy river with the imposing rombic octahedron rising up into the horizon is indeed the symbol of the siren heights Belarus steadily achieving. The paintings inside, the lavish space for computers, books and the history of the printing process all make this library an extraordinary symbol of intellectual life. Seeing the Minsk horizon from the 23rd floor will definitely give you the green canopy of Minsk and its impact on the society at large. I am greatful to my friend and scholar Francois Igor Pris for introducing me to the intellectual life in Minsk and Belarus.
Would have liked to check things out, but the library is closed on Sundays during the summer. Asked Google to change hours in maps, but dont know if they will do it.
Just Awesome ........... oneday I will visit here inshallah ..............
So much information to know about the country and the history, there was information I didnt know before my visit, also its a real peace of art building.. must visit
Beautiful building, nice view from observatory deck, lighting is awesome and they do all kind of different designs depending on seasons. Two blocks from the metro.. Highly recommended..
I would said nothing about place where is the library located . Because there is metro station just few hundred metres out. I wouldnt said nothing about how massive is the building . Because its really big but looking nice ... Good luck !!
Thanks to National library of Belarus, I could study better.
plus: this is a library. its all.)minus: this is one of the worst buildings in the world! And this is a fact! If you dont believe me, come to this place at night and look at this horror. Also, nobody cancels the Soviet mentality and the attitude to you.
Ill just make comments on the observation deck. Its one of the tallest buildings in Minsk, but you probably seen taller. Anyway, the main problem is, the deck is surrounded with dirty and imperfect glasses which distort the vision. It doesnt make any sense since the only purpose of this place is presenting a good view. Also binoculars are very old and not giving a clear view. If youre planing to drop by, you better keep your expectations low.
Good coffee. Icecream only so-so. Very nice view. We were in the cafeteria near the top of the building
This is a very beautiful place. Architecture is amazing
Although far from the city center, the library is an easy ride on the metro (even for someone who speaks no Belarusian, like me). It’s completely worth it, as around the back of the library you can pay to go up to the 35th floor to see the surrounding view of the city. Beautiful!!!
The building is quite unusual but inside the place is very well organized. When I went there was not much for foreigners But they still had foreign newspapers.
The observation deck entrance is at the back side of the building. Paid some fee, climbed the lift. The deck is overlooking the city of Minsk. Very beautiful view from here. Theres a cafe and rooms for art exhibition. At night, we waited to see the light spectacle. Beautiful illumination. Its worth the wait.
Modern building in an los city 😊Near of metro station so easy Access.
This Glow-In-The-Dark Library Was Designed to Mimic a Diamond
Its a nice place and this building are more beautiful, Designed are very very beautiful..
Oppressive, sterile, unwelcoming, and dull. Collections are astonishingly poor. No free WiFi. The cafe is a joke and usually overcrowded. I quite like the way it looks from the outside though.
One of the most attractive touristic places in the contemporary Belarus history. The design of the library is unique and worth spending time reading books !
It is one of the major tourist attraction in Minsk. This library has a great structure and for visitors it has an observatory deck, book museum and lots of collection of wonderful paintings and art works. It is worth a visit while staying in Minsk.
in daytime looks quite cool for a library, but at night the illumination is actually quite pityfull, considering inside: its really hard to find some reasonable books here, and if you do, you can take them home only if you have a PHD, at least it was like this in 2013 and nothing usually gets improved here.attention to the infrastructure, toilets are modern built hole-in-the-floor version, and you need to take paper before you enter the cabin...its also built on an unstable fundament, so im curious how long it survives
Highly recommended tourist attraction if you are visiting Minsk. On the back side of the National Library there is an elevator to the panoramic view floor.
Great, modern library!Highest in Europe as far as I know.Has free internet for members.
Nice building if its your first visit to Minsk. And dont forget to get to the roof - its a great view from there
Again, very interesting building. Go on the observatory desk. Make sure its a clear day!
Good view over Minsk from roof terrace.
Nice place to visit, especially when it is dark. For a few dollar you can go to the roof and have a nice view over the city.
Nice building, great to visit. Not really practical for studying or working, you have to pay to get in and Internet on pc or wifi is not included in the entrance price (I dont even know if it would work by paying). Is this communism?
Observation deck is well worth the visit
