Beautiful grounds. Soldiers on site patrolling. Very tranquil and a great place to learn about some Jamaicans who helped shape our country.
Great but could use some work on to make all things better
Not recommended for visit. Just a park and very dirty one.
There is not another relaxing park like heroes park just need more attractive and some visible security in and around the park a development track ,water, a rest room etc
The park was clean and nice a peaceful environment to go and relax 😌 👌
The area is well kept and the other joint space is spacious for exercise activity
I only gave 4 star because some of the playground equipments are missing while others needs replacing but the grounds where groomed and glean and I learned some things. Good experience overall. Going back really soon.
Great place to chill with family members ❤ 👌 💕 😊 ☺ 💖 ❤ 👌
It was fun reading Jamaica archive via monuments
Lovely place for a run or jus to chill look at the hills n unwind. Downtown style though
Okay, except it start raining.
A picture perfect spot.... historical tops it off... a place of tranquility
The park is very quite. If you want a quite space for yoga, this is definitely the place.
Its a great outdoor environment can take your kids cause theres a park there .
I love the environment. I am able to not just relax in a peaceful environment but I am afforded the ability to learn more about my heritage and about the Heroes who fought successfully so that I can live the life I now enjoy.I am free to make my own choice and not to under bondage. The Park is a powerful reminder of where we came from, the resilience and wit of our forefathers.
They need to install some sheds or something because the place can get pretty hot either that or plant some more trees but aside from that its a great place to go and visit with your child/ren to see the site where our nations leaders are buried
Should be visited by all Jamaican at least once. Filled with historical information about the heroes and worthy art pieces which bring meaning to their legacies.
One of my favourite place to relax as a child growing up. Memories are plenty. The place where our Heroes n Prominent Ppl in society laid to rest
rich part of countrys heritage that reminds you of what is good about my country. but the Govt needs to finish the work it started and renovate this beautiful landmark!!
The area on which the National Heroes Park now stands was once one of the most popular spots in Kingston. For 101 years, the land was the centre for horse racing in Jamaica. It was also the site for other sporting activities such as cricket and cycle racing. Being a place where people naturally gathered, the area was also the venue for travelling circuses that visited the island from time to time.In 1818, the Kingston Council purchased the property for £985 and 10 shillings. Back then it was part of a property called Montgomery Pen. It was later known as the Kingston Race Course because of its dominant activity and remained so until 1953 when horse racing was transferred to Knutsford Park. The site was officially renamed the National Heroes Park in 1973 and is now a permanent place for honouring our heroes whose monuments are erected in an area known as the Shrine.Another section, reserved for prime ministers and outstanding patriots, adjoins the Shrine area, to the north.
For the place where some of Jamaicas most treasured are laid to rest. I was expecting more from National Heroes Park. The park is dry and hot, I was wondering if a well could be dug and used to make a park green and attractive. Some of the plaques are worn need to replaced. Overall the park needs to be refurbished to make it the attraction it deserves to be.
The park closes at 6 p.m. Our history is very important. Security is there due to the presence of soldiers. They have improved the area surrounding the monuments or graves if you wish.
This is a good way to honour those who gave their lives fighting for the country, as well as those who have contributed to policies and legislations. Though there could be a little more done to enhance and attract greater number of people, the grounds are relatively well kept. This is a good way to teach a little about that aspect of Jamaicas history. Good for field trips and supporting ones studies as well as a casual stroll.
Enjoying in the middle of the night to get a taxi to go home. This park is a historic places with all the bodies of the national hero. There are many solider and few police gurading the park
This park is huge. There are Soccer fields, Cricket fields and also has the burial spot for our National Heroes and some past prime ministers. Also has fun play area for kids. Good also for picnics. Its a historical park and fun park at the same time. Highly recommended.
Its a nice park it has a lot of historical and educational value. The soldiers there are very friendly and helpful to the visitors. Real good experience overall
The park isnt OK, light needed on the monuments, at night, u cant see the Graves of our heroes n heroin. Kings house, vale royal etc. have perfect lighting.
I only use this space to exercise in the evening. The track is padded and the distance markers are clearly visible. There is and ice cream parlor across the road so dont walk with money or you may negate all you just walked/jogged/skipped/ran off!Ive noticed people playing table tennis and checkers and dominoes. Some are just chilling, date night style. Although in the heart of the city it is a lovely Green space with decreased noise pollution.Easily access by public transportation. Kept clean. Security is visible and appropriately stationed.Free to use
Awesome place,,,,,this is definitely for the lovers of the arts and designs, the photogenic individuals and the ones who just loves to chill and relax. This park boast so so so much and housed a wide array of monument from the national heroes of #Jamaica to other important figures in #Jamaicas history and culture. This place is a must see #forsure
In my opinion, the parking at Heroes Park was excellent. The security force did their job. They gave directions and even assisted with helping patrons to mark correctly. I also liked the part where water was offered to patrons who were about to board buses en route the stadium . The buses were parked at good vantage points and were properly boarded. Overall, it was a meticulously organised event.
My experience was on a school field trip.the grass green and beautiful. They have a park for children to play. they have graves of all the national hero.
It is a place of our local history where all our national heroes are buried it is a large circleOne area of it is fence off for that purposeThe rest of it is about to be developed for the country parliament.
Very good place to take children. A good place for teachers and parents to take children to get that hands on learning about National Heroes and there is a nice little playground. The playground has gone into a little disrepair but its still a good place. Nice and quite and a good learning experience.
Wanna know more of Jamaicas history and its finding fathers.. take a stop there
One of the few FREE attractions ...no cost to get in ....a historic Jamaican site and resting place of national heroes and cultural icons. The monuments are sorrounded by lush flora that bloom almost year round and each one tells its own story so you dont even need a guide. Plus if you go at the right time you will catch the changing of the guards .... a piece of the islands colonial past ...the soldiers stand guard all day.
Very interesting place to go and find out about our national heroes. Calm environment to sit and have conversations or even study. In addition they have a play ground
The experience hear was excellent, I love every moment of.
National heroes circle is located in downtown Kingston and its a public park as well as a resting place for Jamaica national heroes and heroine
National Heroes Park is still in development. There are area where you can chill out under a shade of a tree are building. At the time of seeing the place I was currently passing in a motor vehicle so detail is not as accurate as it should.
Its a nice park to visit and see the resting places of some of Jamaicas icons and heroes. The immediate area looks great but the surroundings need the work being done to be completed quickly to compliment the park.
There are monuments of our national heros final resting place. However the park is unkempt and is used more as a parking lot for nearby government offices
Beautiful Park, the resting place for our Heroes is well maintained. The entire park is being redesigned currently, with fencing being done first. There is a play area for children, with swings, slides, etc., as well as seats for the parents and guardians. This park is perfect exercising and surrounding businesses and communities take advantage of this; they walk, run and even play football (soccer). This area host many events, Fun in the Sun, Cycling Meets, Club Matches, etc.
We visited early on the morning of National Heroes Day. The gated area for the monuments is well maintained and we got a sneak preview of the annual ceremony to lay flowers at the memorials.Everyone was pleasant and welcoming, down to the grounds staff. It is a worthwhile visit to learn about Jamaicas history.More love is needed to the area outside of the monuments.
