Nation's Heroes Memorial - Monument in Slobozia, Romania
One of the nicest parks in Bucharest, including two museums, the heroes mausoleum, a concert open arena, a lake, etc.
Dont bother. The heros monument is off limits to the peasants. The soldiers there will not let you come anywhere close to it.
Great place to visit, especialy at a foggy night
marks one of the darkest nightmares and periods, buried in silence, the monstrous regime raising those asleep in it. such a shame it was not demolished, or at least emptied from the communist worms
Lovely park, perfect for a run, relaxation or even to have a coffee with friends
The external architecture could attract people but there is nothing to visit. You can stay in Carol park and see the soldiers taking care of a fire and of a circle building. This place must be visited.
Very impressive, also seeing the change of the guards was quite nice!
Very big and pompous park in Bucharest. The main monument is guarded by soldiers. The exchange of soldier personnel is interesting as they keep their guard and follow a strict procedure.I can recommend this park for a stroll with your loved one or your family.
Perfect place for jogging, nice view...
Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, Carol Park, Bucharest. Aside from the unicity of the mausoleum, the park it is one of the oldest in Bucharest, dating back in 1980. It is forbidden to climb past the guards, but photos are allowed. 2 howitzer cannons, and the main alley. Main entrance to the far side from here. Great place for photos, videos or drone footage.
Nice area. Relaxing with the view. Not much to do.
Lovely place to walk my dogs people there are nice
The monument is really impressive and the guards that change places too. I also really love the symmetry of the monument with the whole park.
Nice park to hangout
It is very nice, lot of nature around you, a little store and the beautiful monumental with the fire. It could use some new concrete but its very nice.
Impressive penta-arch structure commemorating war dead from 1877-1945. About half a dozen military personnel on guard (year round- more significant than once a year in North America. Access inside was blocked off.
A great place, impressive. Try catch a guard change...
Monument dedicated to the brave soldiers that died during the First World War. It is always guarded by the honour guard, if you are lucky you can catch the changing of the guard at noon. The unknown soldier that is buried there was chosen after the French model by an orfan boy from 10 unknown soldiers brought from all the major battlefields where the Romanian Army was involved in WW I. It is said that the boy chose the coffin of a soldier and said " this is my father".
The National Museum of Art of Romania (Romanian: Muzeul Național de Artă al Românieiis located in the Royal Palace in Revolution Square, central Bucharest.[1] It features collections of medieval and modern Romanian art, as well as the international collection assembled by the Romanian royal family.
There is a fire burning at the base of the monument. You can approach and take pictures here. There are stairs that appear as if it would take you into a commemorative display; but it was closed during the week on an afternoon. There is a small sign in Romanian that says this, but if you dont speak the local language you might try to slowly climb the steps until a soldier with a rifle comes out of the guard shack and gets a little twitchy. Then you can slowly back away since a twitchy 18 year old could be more interesting than what youd like to see.
just another standard piece of communist monstrosity in another former soviet state. and dont get me wrong, I love me some soviet architecture and communist monuments (see Kiev!), alas, the local authorities could do with sprucing up this place. like, making it habitable by replacing all the missing bricks from the pavement etc. this is reflective of the whole of bucharest, aka the land that time forgot.
Not very interesting place. Its just a Monument with a nice view. The park is good.
A monument in the middle of Carol Park, visible from the entrance, but difficult to wait, a large staircase separates it.
Nice monument dedicated to the war heroes
The park is quite clean and breathable. I recommend to go there in the early spring . From the heroes monument you could see the house of people and hotel intercontinental. This could be a great place to relax and take a brake from crowded city. There is a change of guard but I cannot tell you the schedule to see it.
A beautiful monument in a beautiful park.
A nice Park without much to see in a Bucureşti full of parks
Very good park to visit even in the winter
nice big park with a nice vieuw
A nice Parc with a communist era monument. Worth visiting
A communist symbol, nice architecture, now with the heroes memorial back in place and without the communist "heroes" buried here. The mai question is if the crypt will be used for Romanian presidents ?
A memorial for al Unknown Heroes fallen both in WWI and WWII.. finally placed where it was ment to be!
Nice monument. Worth visiting and watch the soldiers change the guard
Creepy. Creepy and unfair to have in a big park a monument where a lot of members of comunist party are remembered ... No, thank you, i will never come again !
Nice place, but it is not open for public
Beautiful architecture, if you pass by, take a moment to admire it.
Lovely view, nice memorial, but sadly you cant visit it on a regular day or only with an authorised group :/ .. but in general its a nice play to visit at least once
beatifull memorial to comemorate the fallen heroes of Romania. You can watch here the guard change ritual and also have some fun eith your familly outdoors
Nice place to go for a walk on warm summer nights.
Quite imposing lovely Park next to the monument
This place is very good and historically
Nice, quiet park with long alleys you can have a relaxing walk.
Wonderful place. Should be visited at least once in a lifetime.
Its a historic building that you can just admire it. Its a bummer that you cant visit it.
The best place to recreate.
Very nice complex, located in spacious green park.
Beautiful park, big and populated.
Just a memorial. The view is nice, the stairs, etc. The monument itself not something worth the trip.
Fire, flowers, guardians - nice place for some interesting photos.
Beautiful memorial statue especially if youre a tourist then you need to take a picture so make sure youre visiting.
