Nasi Lemak Ong - Chinese restaurant in Kuala Lipis, Malaysia
2 types of squid..like biting rubber.fish is so dried.fried chicken coated with thick flour...too much sugar in the gravy.....papadam is already soggy they still sell to customers.very expensive..dont go there.
Delicious and reasonably priced. I ordered yellow rice, 1 piece red curry chicken, cabbage and half salted duck egg, bill came to RM12.40.
Nasi Kandar actually. Fairly good and tasty.
Ok Naisu Lemak in a mall setup. Started off my day with a Nasi Lemak as my breakfast and it was quite nice. Not stellar but decent in a way you’ll like it.
eww their yellow rice got hair, and when i tell the waiter, his attitude was very bad and very proud. bad services, bad experience, no more nasi lemak ong. And we noticed that their customers is lesser during peak time, well done.
Decent nasi lemak set. The fried chicken was crispy and flavourful .
One of the not so pricy and good food at pavilion
Like the nasi kandar here. Their set lunch is crowded and hard to c pavilion got mamak stall.
1.Taste very bad (fried chiken very hard like rock)2. Staff sour face3. Staff never say thank you to customer#never come again
The food was OK at best - the taste was fine but the texture of my squid dish was like hardened rubber. Service was also appallingly slow. By the time the drinks came (and we had to prompt the servers multiple times, we had already finished our food. The one upside is that its comparatively cheaper than other restaurants nearby.
3 stars from a non-curry person. But it does seem to garner positive reviews due to its taste, originality (from Kedah), relatively affordable price point and strategic location in high foot falls area. Apparently its mixture of 6 curries is the bomb. Go try and make your judgement call.
Delicious nasi kandar that doesnt break the bank during lunch hours.
Lovely, lovely meal. Very good. And also their teh tarik too. Forgotten to take the teh tarik drinks. 💯%👍❤. Worth to have meal or drinks there. ❤
Service is fast. Food is acceptable for the price that you pay. (Ate the lunch set)
Never thought ite actually a high class mamak
Its not nasi lemak, totally no coconut fragrance rice. Misleading branding
If you are looking for quick, cheap and tasty foo, this is the place to go! Love nasi lemak, with choices to customise your meal. The place is big and a nice place for a short break from work. This outlet is on Level 8!
Misleading advertisement. This is not nasi lemak. The sources are too sweet.
They were 3 tables ahead of us when we order. We ordered at 10.40am and the 3 pieces of roti arrived 11.10am. They were literally making the roti table by table. We were seated in front of the roti counter and seeing it clearly. To make things worst, our roti planta turns out hard and dry. No sight or taste of planta at all. Basically hard, dry sugary roti. Definitely not coming back
I was expecting Nasi Lemak. I even asked the server behind he counter if there is nasi lemak. He insisted that it was nasi lemak. Please train the staff the difference between nasi kandar and nasi lemak. Very disappointed being misled.
Untrained staff broke basic hygiene rules. Be suspicious of their gloves (gloves means unwashed hand & prolonged use).
One of the best nasi kandar in town. Love the gravies. Thought pricing is reasonable given it is in Pavilion.
Visited the citta mall branch. Just overpriced average foods and drinks. Most of the nasi kandar mamak stores out there taste better with lower prices.
The wasn’t that delicious slow service and it’s too overpriced for a nasi lemak restaurant
So disgusting! Food was cold and the curry literally smelled like URINE.
Not bad, having set lunch with rice, chicken, egg, vege and drink.
Really confusing sort of restaurant, nasi lemak isnt specialty, more like mamak dish, food isnt great and service is super slow and no system, most staff simply dont care and let things be, not a nice place to dine
Visited their citta mall branch and had a great conversation with Otis Ong, the son to the owner of the famous nasi lemak ong, alor star. The crispy friend chicken on the fragrant yellow colored nasi lemak is simply good. Other than nasi lemak, their mee goreng is yummy too. Cant wait to visit next.
At Pavilion Level 8, the food is average, Roti Canai is the best here for me, those Curry and Sambal might be too sweet for me. And the waiters could be more alert to serve the customers. Overall it is good.
The service is terrible especially the attitude of the malay manager! Will never pay visit to this reataurant anymore! Spending of above rm50 entitled us free mutton but we had ordered mutton and the bill was almost 60, the manager did not want to change bill and remove the mutton charge. When we asked for take away complimentary mutton she rejected AGAIN and insisted dine in.
The attitude of the Malay lady manager is the worst Ive seen!
Better get rid of the malay manager before she gets rid of your customers! Bad bad attitude.. tsk tsk.
Never tried this again...very bad attitude from the lady manager :(
RM14.90 nett for a lunch set with brown/white rice with egg+vege+ikan bilis+chicken. You can choose your vege and chicken. Set comes with complementary drink as well. I had ice lemon tea and it is nice. I had ayam merah. They have few different gravy, you can choose spicy or non spicy.Delicious food with cheap “pavilion” price. Highly recommended!
Amazing, authentic Alor Star style curry gravy, long beans, anchovies with onions and fried chicken... Alor Star food comes alive in KL
The service was definitely bad. Nobody bothered to service or to show the menu upon entering the restauranrs. Had to press the bells several times only they served even though they were walking around in the restaurant doing nothing apparently. The workers definitely need supervising and more training. First and last visit.
Food quality so-so. Its a franchise outlet originated from Alor Setar homegrown popular nasi lemak brand. The curry standard wasnt on par with original one but still acceptable.
Wonderful and affordable meal and comes with free iced lemon tea for lunch set . I was told its northern style nasi lemak. Taste not bad .
Food was surprisingly good and not too pricey... 1st impressions is good...
new and spacious outlets, comfy settings, ordering and servicing is fast. tend to be crowded during peak time, their nasi lemak set is kinda okey, still need to improve the rice&sambal quality tho.. price wise is okey inclusive of teh o ais limau, i mean it is in pavilion mall. worth a try if you look for nasi lemak in the mall.
Im calling out to thrifty spenders out there. Current running promotion (only for 3 - 6pm dailyis starting from RM 6.90 for a meal like this: nasi lemak sotong + teh tarik (This particular set is RM 9.90 inclusive of 5% service charge and 6% SSTOther choices of meal can be roti goreng or cheese Maggi curry soup, with tea or coffee. Where else to dine cheap in Bukit Bintang area? (Well, except for McDonalds or Texas Chicken.)(edit: The squid is quite spicy though, dont know what they cook it with. Spicy food lovers would enjoy the Indian style cuisine here. Free WiFi also available, campers welcomed.)
Food is quite nice, Teh Tarik needs improvement though.
Teh tarik is only RM1 per small glass. The food is exceptionally tasty. the black roti canai is very unique with the variety of gravy. There is a smoking section for smokers. We also tried the prawn and fried chicken, both are equally delicious. Its a good mamak food experience located in Pavilion.
Another hidden gem that recently opened in the heart of Kuala Lumpur, in Pavillion no less! Alor Setar-based Nasi Lemak Ong offers hearty Northen-style Nasi Kandar and Nasi Lemak alongside the usual mamak fare. Lunch sets (which are quite fillingfrom RM15.90 and comes with a drink, veggies, meat and egg. We tried Black Sauce Beef and Kurma Mutton sets, and they were yummy! They are currently offering RM1 Teh Tarik! Definitely a must-try!
Very neat and clean atmosphere. Services are very friendly here....
Im really like this place and the food. The rice ia fresh from the rice cooker, you can choose yellow rice (nasi lemak with coconut milkor white rice (without coconut milk). The location is on 8th floor pavilion mall using the lift. Its like a buffet, but you only pay for what you choose to eat. A lot of different toppings you can choose to eat with the rice. The price is cheap, rice with a big fried catfish and curry eggplant is only 11.5RM plus service charge 5%.The portion of the rice and fish is big.Ill come back to this place on my next visit.
Food ain’t bad and for the price and amount of food, it’s actually one of the better places and value for money in KL city centre!Go for the set menu where there’s ample rice, meat, vegetable etc and comes with free iced lemon tea.Food ain’t warm but aren’t cold either. Could be warmer.Curries taste good.
Serve cold dishes and cold rice.. even mamak can serve hot food
The famous Nasi Lemak Ong from Alor Setar is finally here in KL. The quality of food was excellent although variety was not as great as your typical mamak. If you want to enjoy mamak food in a clean, modern environment with your kids, this is the place.
Halal restaurant. A good selection of Malaysian dishes in a casual, pick-your-own dish combo style. Service was friendly and the environment was much cleaner than eating from street shops. Also has a series of their house sauces which are very spicy - go for mild unless you enjoy a kick!
