A heaven on a plate!I’m not a big fans of nasi kapau actually, but our driver recommended us to try and surprisingly I love it! Mix sauce blended perfectly and closed well with hot tea. The kapau although located in center of kapau market but it’s clean and quite comfort

Authentic minang food

Great experience.. must visit any of these stall during any visit to Bukittinggi.. food taste good and price was really reasonable.. its mouthwatering just to see all those food in front of you while you eat.. it makes you want to try as many different food as your stomach can handle.. As for me i really love their chicken rendang and the bamboo sprout curry.. thats truly heaven.. ☺☺Ask the people at the market the direction to this place since this stalls are located in the middle of a maze-like market so it might need a bit of effort to find it or simply by luck. They call the area Los Lambuang (literally translated as "stomach alley"), since this area is where most of the food seller located. So for any foodie, you may be able to spend a lot of time trying different kind of foods here and it is also fun to explore around and see what they have to offer.

Nasi Kapau Uni Lis is located next to Jam Gadang - Bukittinggi. For those who travel by car and pass Bukittinggi it is very easy to find this place. The taste is good. You can have variety of Minang food (Padang Foodwith original taste. The speciality of Kapau restaurant is gut (usus sapifilled with tofu mixed with egg. Beware of tending to pick a lot of foods because all foods looks great and delicious. Your belly has limited capacity.

Nasi Kapau Ni LisBukittinggiWest SumatraNovember 2019Nasi kikil for 28 K IDR.The meal comes fully loaded with a bit of tambusu (intestines filled with whipped egg whites which becomes a spongy almost tofu-like matrix of flavour when cooked inside the intestines), some delicious curried veg (the cauliflower and jackfruit is really really good), and some fried cassava pieces cooked in rendang spices. The rendang spices were just amazing and the crispy cassava pieces adds a really nice crunchy texture to the meal. Meanwhile, the kikil is huge enough to warrant the price and is cooked really well that it still retains its structure although it is really tender. Subsequently, it has a very nice gulai taste without leaving that overly fatty/rich aftertaste on your palate. This really is a master class of what rendang spices, tambusu, veg gulai, and kikil could be.Furthermore, i had a bit of Mbak @melani_pedro s dendeng kering (dry beef jerkyand that must have been the best beef jerky ever. Like seriously, eating it i felt as if i was eating some really crunchy smoked bacon. I will probably always prefer pork to beef, but this thing was really something i tells ya. The chili and the broths are good - great even, but they do not in any way distract you from the star of the show. The jerky is able to retain its shape but can be easily cut and crumbled and does not become spikey thorns in your mouth when bit (trust me, i had some of those unpleasant experiences). It is also so well fried that it imparts that aforementioned smokiness without tasting like its dried up burnt meat. This lady really knows what shes doing, she should get a Michelin star for this dendeng.So anyway, the rice package is 28 K and each additional meat/fish/whatevs is 20 K. I like the spices they use for the dishes, but the taste is quite salty for me. If you dont like salty dishes I recommend to try their Usus (filled with eggs), it tastes less salty than the others. The restaurant is located inside Pasar Tinggi, it is pretty difficult to reach but the place is quite neat and clean. Worth to try once I guess.

The true original Nasi Kapau. Trully delicious and the flavor is very strong. Combined with cool climate, they are the perfect combination for you to gain weight. I am serious!I tried dendeng batokok, crispy baluik goreng and dendeng masiak. Even the simple sayur nangka taste best here.They taste so good I forgot that I was full already. 😤The price is pretty affordable. And totally worth it, every rupiah. ❤
