Chicken breasts were tiny! Chips were cold, sorry, not good enough, it really isnt hard cooking chips!

Great service and friendly staff. Food is delicious and you dont have to wait long!

I get the usual grilled chicken wrap with two sides (peri-salted chips and spicy riceand this combo is just elite. The wrap especially was just out of this world NO JOKE. I could’ve sworn the person who made the wrap was really generous because the content in this specific wrap was special. The wrap alone filled me up and I was most certainly a happy customer. If my mind serves me well, I don’t think I ate again until the next day. Shoutout to He/She who made me a happy bunny!

LOVE the Peri Peri Chicken. The staff was also great. Will be back here whenever were in York.

Usual Nandos experience. Restaurant has two levels. We had to wait for the table on a busy saturday about 45 minutes, so wasnt too bad. We were given table upstairs. Having a two year old and a pram it was a bit challenging to get there but we have made it. I couldnt notice any lift. Overall nice and clean and well managed in rush hours, so not overcrowded.

Not gluten free, but they do their best to reduce risk.

Food was amazing but what made it for me was the customer service. They were fantastic. Friendly and had extremely good banter

Had an enjoyable meal. Very friendly and efficient staff. Quick service at a reasonable price. Nice buzz around the restaurant. Knocked a star off as the toilets were pretty dirty and not fully functional.

We were happy we found this place and the food was lovely as always at Nandos. The restaurant itself could do with some TLC as it looked pretty grubby when looking more closely.Its also split between two levels, I say this because I saw a few people look in and walk away as they thought it was full.

Food was lovely, however the staff didnt seem happy in their work, no smiles, and we almost felt like we were a hindrance. Probably wouldnt visit again.

First time at this Nandos. Ordered a half-chicken and 2 sides. Apart from the chicken being a little on the small side, it was great as usual. Service was pretty good if a little not interested.

Food was really good and the restaurant nice but the upstairs mens bathroom had a lot to be desired, otherwise good.

Not sure about app based ordering but then I am over 50 so a bit old fashioned. Would have been nice to get a drink from a bar while waiting

What a horrid little cashier. Rude and unfriendly certainly not South African style at all. The management sitting at the entrance half greeting guests. This place needs a good scrub. One of the dirtiest Nandos Ive ever seen. Good food spoilt by low standards.

We waited for 1hr and 20min. The liver was over cooked. The chicken have sti blood on it. The staff told us to order thru online but unsuccessful. I informed the staff she said the system maybe not working and told us to order over the counter. 4 tables had the same issues then why pushed us to order thru online. The staff are not friendly at all. The place table still have dirt on it. Very unpleasant place. Me and my wife are fans of nandos. We always look for nandos in evry place we visit even in other countries. But this place was very disappointing. I dont recommend this place.

Great food, ok service but draconian way of ordering. I should not have to give my name, email, telephone number just to order. Really not happy about having to "sign up" online to order. Ridiculous.

First time experience of this type of dining.Food was OK. Staff friendly. Priced well when compared with other York eateriesBut truth is, I struggle with this type of eating which reflects more on me than the establishment.

Fun spot to grab a quick bite to eat. There chicken is great and you definitely get what you pay for. The sauce is really yummy to. Unfortunately they could do a bit better on the sides. Some of them were bland and boring. Other than that it was a great experience overall and I would come here again.

Great service and food and I would definitely recommend it for any coeliac diners; the knowledge staff were so good when it came to me needing gluten free and took extra care to ensure the food was safe

Short wait time even on a Saturday night.We were seated upstairs which was spacious, clean and fully stocked with plenty of sauces.The food was excellent, the spict rice was spice than Ive experienced before - thankfully the drinks are bottomless.I ordered the Peri-tamer as I love the BBQ flavour which isnt on the main menu.Friendly, helpful staff and a thoroughly enjoyable meal.

Visited Nandos on 1st June Lunch time Had Chicken Burger and Chips the bread bap was very hard the chips were luke warm the Drink machine had no ice had to go upstairs but was not busy down stairs. They seemed to be short staffed. will not be returning again

"Hi, have you been to Nandos before?" Its this phrase, uttered through thousands of forced smiles everyday that sums up the experience of the famous chicken restaurant. Nandos prides itself on a level of consistency other chain restaurants can only aspire to and its this comfort found through familiarity that keeps us coming back time and again. It doesnt matter how far you find yourself from home you can be sure of two things, you will find a Nandos nearby and once you enter youll be home again. The odds that youre reading this review as a prospective, new Nandos customer are very slim, you likely just want to know how this place stacks up compared to the others and in all honesty its about the same so by that metric I have to give it five stars. On the off chance that youve read this far and are a Nandos newcomer, know this, it is okay, youre not going to be blown away gastronomically and there are nicer places to eat in most towns and cities, including York, but its alright and youll probably have a decent time. That being said I always think its quite impressive when someone says theyve never been to Nandos before, and is it worth giving up that interesting little part of yourself for a bit of chicken? Thats a decision only you can make.

Food and staff excellent, toilets however really need a makeover and some maintenance as only one toilet in both ladies and gents was in use...

Good food if not piping hot, friendly staff, and clean

The restaurant was really tidy and clean. The service was great. We had to wait 15 minutes for a table but it was great in the end.

Amazing food, and for some reason some times we get free brownies which is great. I can’t get enough of the extra hot sauce haha

A few things short on the menu. The drinks machine was out of coke zero and the other was broken.We were told be would be a 45 min wait, but were seated in less than 10.The food was fast, hot and as youd expect from a cheeky Nandos

I visited this evening with my girlfriend for Dinner, and we couldn’t recommend this Nando’s enough. She has allergies so we put her food through as an allergy order, assisted by the manager. I ordered a wrap for myself. When the food came, there was no indication that my girlfriend’s food had been prepared as an allergen order. When I asked about it they were so apologetic, and went and remade the food as an allergy order. We then discovered that there was something wrong with my wrap too, so I asked if that could be remade also. I would have been perfectly happy with a remake and would still have left a glowing review, but the staff went above and beyond, giving us a full refund for both of our meals. It was Saturday evening and was so busy, but we felt truly cared about. We then ordered some desserts, which the staff wouldn’t take any money for, despite us repeatedly offering to pay. I couldn’t fault the customer service, and once the issues with our food were sorted they were lovely. Overall a very happy customer, would recommend this nandos to anyone!!

As someone whos not a fan of nandos food, this is a review of the experience but not the food itself. The inside was very cosy, and clean. The staff were polite and very helpful. One of the bets things about a nandos experience is the large amount of sauces you can get, and nandos york did not hold back, woth a good 10 random sauce flavours available. On top of this you have refillable drinks and who dosent love that. The nandos experience was very well delivered.

Had Chicken Burger & chips, delivered very quickly, so I think they had been standing a little while as not very hot. The chicken was tasty, the bun was quite hard & I left it. Plenty of kitchen staff. The server was helpful, efficient & polite. They were not busy. 3* for the food.

Poor experience. Ordering food from the website was a right faff, so many options for extras and drinks that we got confused. Staff were unhelpful and patronising- when asked about salads the waitress said “if it’s not on the menu it’s because we don’t have it”… turned out they did have it just under a different heading!! Under the heading “burgers pittas and wraps” there was no burgers, and when asked about this she gave the same cut and paste response! Clearly she did not know what she was talking about. Wanted to pay with some One4All cards but after all that it turns out we had to order at the counter! What a pain!! Had to get the manager who also didn’t know what he was doing. Food (when it was eventually arrivedwas good but was all mixed up- wrong sides with mains and one wrap had bbq sauce in it even though we asked for lemon & herb.Furniture was warn- wallpaper was peeling and upholstery ripping at the seams. Very scruffy. Go somewhere else if you can!

Always been a go to place for food as the chicken always seems to be on point. Knocking off 2 stars as the order for my other half came out wrong and had to be remade, when ordering using a phone/QR there’s no chance of miscommunication so not sure what the excuse could be...

Taste delicious.However，there are something confused me：We waited for about 15min and the staff said the table is available and we can go upstairs. We went to the upstairs as following the staff‘s guide，but there are no staff showing us the table. After we found a table ourselves and ordered the food by scanning the QR code on the table（about 5min after that），an another staff came and asked us if we are in the queue.I have no idea about why that staff did not show us the table and asked us that question. This confused me a lot.

It was very busy when we went but the guy on the door was really friendly, took our contact details to text us when space was available. When we were hanging around outside waiting for time to go in, he remembered us, came out and invited us to wait inside. And the food was typical Nandos, stringy, chewy chicken - its cooked twice, its unavoidable - but great flavours. The broccolli and rice were cooked beautifully.

Excellent restaurant, very family friendly really good atmosphere. If theyre isnt a table ready at the time of youre request they usually have one available within the hour just give the waiter youre number and last name. Food was delicious so many choices, 5 different spices from mild to very hot. Shall be looking forward to our peri fix next time.

AVOID!We waited about 40 minutes for our food, there were only two other tables in the restaurant and it wasnt particularly late either. Then entire time we were there, the staff were chatting loudly about closing and going home. When our food arrived, this is what we got. We complained to a manger about the raw chicken. His response was " we temperature check all our chicken " and " I will send it off to get tested ", where or when he did not say. That was it. He didnt come back to us, didnt take any details, no discount and most of all NO APOLOGY. He then had to remind his staff to temperature check! If the staff took more interest in cooking rather than getting the close done, we would have got our food quicker and COOKED. Were on holiday and weve had lovely food here all week, its such a shame my partners first Nandos was a big let down. Visit York but skip Nandos!

Useless Nando’s for a take away. Now 30 mins after the pick up time I was given via the app and the food still isn’t ready. Nit that many customers in the restaurant, so assuming g that the app can’t handle delivery/take away orders, or just untrained staff doing the cooking.It would be faster if I ordered in person rather than via the app.Awful experience. Initially told order would be ready in 5 mins, now another 25+ mins after that. Still waiting.

Service was good, staff were pleasant and polite, and the food was well prepared and presented. Unfortunately the whole experience was let down by dirty toilets, which appeared not to have been tended to for a while. Furthermore, the toilets could benefit from a facelift (or some decent maintenance at least).

Came to try the new seasonal gravy, only 5pm but already sold out. Apart from that food was incredible and staff friendly
