Nandanam in Lausanne

Amazing south Indian delicacy ever there is in Entire Switzerland. We three friends were traveling to Paris. Stopped by this restaurant for lunch. Food was amazing. Biriyani had so much of lamb pieces. Manager Pradeep was very warm welcoming person. He even gave us a welcome chai. It was lovely. will surely visit this place again.

our waiter (skinny, european man with grey hair and glassesprovided us with the worst service we have experienced in switzerland. he was rude and condescending from the moment we stepped foot into the restaurant. it was our first time patronising the place and he got frustrated that we didnt immediately understand his desire for us to enter the restaurant through an adjacent entryway into the terrace and got snappy when he realised he had to communicate to us in english instead of french.when we asked politely for a food menu he responded passive aggressively as if we were asking something hugely unreasonable of him. he then informed us impatiently that the kitchen would be closing soon and we only had two minutes to decide what to eat. when we asked for the bill at the end of the meal, he dramatically tossed an empty coin dish passive aggressively on the table. the entire experience was uncomfortable and almost comical. the other staff we interacted with were nothing but warm and lovely, which made his behaviour all the more bizarre.bad service aside, the calamari starter we had was delightful. the lamb curry was also above average although the small dishes that came along with it (daal, spiced rice etcwere rather bland.

Nandanam continues to be one of my favourite restaurants in Lausanne. The food is incredibly tasty and made with the freshest of ingredients. The staff are kind and helpful. And the decor is simple and calming.

By far the best Indian restaurant in Lausanne. The staff is super friendly, and the food is amazing. They also have a beautiful terrace with colorful umbrellas. I will for sure come back, and would recommend this place to my friends.

Very good indian restaurant! We took take-away, the owner was very kind at the desk and offered me a chai while I was waiting. He was available for any questions or modification about the plates in the menu. The food was delicious, and it seemed the cook and the stuff they really put care and effort on giving the customer a good impression, even though it is still take-away food. Quality/amount of food/price/service, it is totally worth it! highly recommended!

Food is average, not much choice. Restaurant is expensive and the service is super slow. We waited around 1 hour to get our food. Staff is friendly. Wouldn’t recommend nor go back.

Where Indian cuisine meets sort of fine dining. :-Food is very tasty...the coconut naan is amazing. Spiciness adapted to European standards :- Not your regular street food plating. Restaurant looks nice and cozy. Definitely worth putting it on the Lausanne must try map.

One of the best Indian Restaurants in Lausanne. Good location, not far from the train station, nice atmosphere, original and tasty food. The only downside: the portions could for my taste be a bit bigger. Overall highly recommendable!

There are not too many places in Switzerland that understand how to use spices properly. Either you will end up with something too spiced up or something that has no flavour, Nandanam instinctively understands it. Moreover if you like south Indian especially tamil and Kerala food this is probably the only place in all of Switzerland. Finally the quality is consistently good which is something that has always been a complaint with Swiss restaurants in general.

Presentation is good. Taste is ok and not very indian. Limited menu. They may refuse service if you go without reservation. Service is decent.

Refused to serve on the pretext of being full whereas I could see empty tables - I was told the kitchen is small, and they cannot serve so many people.

Good location and some of the best indian cuisine in French speaking Switzerland! If you dont like spicy food then I would not bother going here. If you do like spicy, then you have to go here! In the summer the terrace at the back is lovely. Staff are really good too!

Worst experience waited for food more than 1hr ,charged extra for our drinks glad that we noticed after checking the price they reduced from final amount . Next time please check your bill before you money ..

After the google reviews went from all the way to this restaurant. Came from montreaux to have dinner. But had a very bad experience. Ordered a masala dosa, but the masala was a bad one. Felt like it’s made one week before. After complaining for the bad taste Nd the person in charge instead of accepting that the food was bad started showing us the bad attitude... very bad experience

Very good Indian in Lausanne. I will go back. The lamb tiryani is excellent. However, the restaurant is very small so you will sit next to your neighbor very closely. It is also a good idea to reserve a table.

The most cozy place in entire Lausanne! Delicious food, really. I would say it is french restaurant with Indian spirit. They decorate each meal and serve in a perfect way! As well, menu includes wines from grapes rased in accordance to the moon cycle - first time I heard about this biodynamic kind of wine.Many thanks to my best Swiss friend for inviting me to this restaurant!

Decent indian close to the centre, good ingredients and nice flavours. Not a wide choice in the menu which for me meany three rather than four stars. Could be a little more spicy but i guess thats catering for the Swiss, remember to ask for a little more kick in your dish if you like it this way. The little terrace at the back is very basic but ....... Enjoyable none the less

A hidden gem in lausanne: not the most authentic Indian restaurant, and thats exactly what suits my tastebuds. Place is nice with an alternative touch, and terrasse will make you feel like youve left lausanne. Regarding food, taste is good and presentation aesthetic - go there for a different experience in lausanne.

Went there and they told cant take us at 18 30! Eventhough i saw some tables arrive at 19 30, my girlfriend and i just wanted to eat something quick. They just said they cant, nobody was at the restaurant at that time...

Difficult review! The place is nice, service is good, dish presentation is precise and careful, dishes taste nice, price is fair (about 30chf per dish). Then where is the problem you might ask? Food is good but doesnt feel authentic. I would define this restaurant as an Europeanised Indian taste. Still looking for an authentic Indian restaurant in Lausanne. A note of demerit, the nan was far below my expectations, definitely do not order it.

Simply amazing. Food is delicious and will fill you up . Prices are fair, atmosphere was nice, and the service was quite good. Great vegetarian option too.

Very good the vegetarian option and the dessert. Place is clean, service is kind. Price for 3 was 170 chf is in line with Lausanne standards. I would advise this to a friend and I think I will go back there.
