Hands down one of the most delicious yakitori restaurants I’ve been. Service great, atmosphere great and super delicious. Tomato cheese bacon we’ll worth a try!!

Best Yakitori I’ve eaten in Tokyo so far! Chef is superb. The food is very flavourful, and meat is tender. It’s on the slightly pricier side for Yakitori, but worth it.

Food is absolutely delicious, service is also great even though we were not locals. Everything on the menu is translated to English. The quality of ingredients is top notch, so be prepared to pay a bit more.

５０年前の開店当時、週1〜2回のペースで通っていました。其れから２年後に大阪に転勤し為行く機会がなくなり、先日(多分４０年振り)久し振りに行ってきました。味は全然変わらず、美味でした。感激しました。

My office manager is friends of the owner. The food is really good! 5 stars! WARNING: vegan/vegetarian option isnt. so as long as you avoid the vegan/vegetarian option, youre in damn good hands. enjoy.

いわゆる定番のメニューなのに、素材が良いのでとても美味しいです。最近流行りの焼き鳥店は、素材が良く焼き加減はレア、変わり種の焼き鳥メニューや部位、酒の種類が豊富など、各店が競い合っていますが、この店はそういった感じではなく、昭和のベーシックを貫いています。格安焼き鳥店と違うのは素材。安いブロイラーを使う格安店の焼き鳥から感じる臭いはなく、鶏肉の旨味が味わえます。こういう焼き鳥屋は昔はたくさんあったはずですが、令和の時代まで生き延びた店はあまりないでしょう。そういった意味では貴重です。内装は古いのですがきちんと掃除されていて気持ちが良いです。接客も完璧。

Amazingly delicious - it’s so good you accidentally try most of the menu. The staff is really nice and helpful in ordering.

One of my must haves when I come to Japan. Every meal is delicious and the staff is amazing! Must have the bacon wrapped tomatoes (make sure you let them cool offand just about everything else on the menu!

Excellent yakitori. Love their Nanbantei sauce. Been here for at least since the mid-80s.

Excellent food and a great atmosphere. Service is perfect with very friendly staff. I have been there twice and I cant wait to go back for the bacon and cheese wrapped tomatoes. Truly a life-changing tomato!

Food was awesome

Landed in this place by accident and boy was it an amazing experience. The ambience of the restaurant was perfect - bustling with a mix of locals and tourists and whilst it was crowded, it was still decent enough for a conversation. We were greeted warmly by the staff and it was very easy to order with the English menu. We went for the dinner yakitori set which came with 10 different types of skewers and each was marinated & cooked to perfection! Saw that this was one of the top 10 restaurants in the world and can totally see why! Id imagine that its price is on the steeper side compared to the local yakitori joints but totally worth it for the experience! Highly recommended!

Comment dire ce restaurant est juste GÉNIAL tout les plats qui y sont servi sont bons et originaux. Great food

No sing that said there is table tax and the table tax is very pricey, 800 yen. This should be marked as a very expensive place.The staff where nice and have good English, but it isnt worth it!

Tax for sitting is 800 yen, which is a lot, and they dont inform you about it when you enter. I had the most expensive dinner here in all my trip to japan, and while the food is tasty, it does not worth the cost.

Amazing yakitori, wide variety of meats with English menu available. The food was all well seasoned. Has a cosy and intimate atmosphere. Wait staff were attentive and could converse in English quite well. Wonderful experience all round

I loved Nanbantei! They have an English menu and super friendly staff who will help explain anything that doesnt make sense. The food also happens to be delicious! Enjoy!!!

We walked in without a reservation around 7:20 and restaurant was almost full. We were very pleased that they let us have the last few seats at the counter. The skewers were pretty good especially the beef, chicken liver, chicken minced skewer, potato and grilled riceball (Love it)! Thank you again for your warm hospitality!

Excellent food and service. Some of the best food we have tasted in Japan...and I am a Chef, so I know good food, when I have eaten it. Staff is wonderful, we will definitely return, when next in Tokyo!

Friendly staff, one of them spoke excellent English. Food was really good, the sweet potatoes were particularly brilliant.

A western twist to a classic Japanese cuisine. Chicken is a bit heavy on blakc pepper, stuffed tomato is a must try!

If youre looking for a classic yakitori "hole in the wall" this place is tops. The food and drink are the very best, the staff are very friendly and a little patience and English mixed will get you what you want.

People need to stop giving this such a high review.They have friendly staffs that speak more English than your usual restaurant in the city but in terms of quality of food, it is at best subpar. I fell victim of reading these review thinking I was going to get something amazing given it’s 4.8 star rating. The reviews are just a bunch of foreigners just happy to get service and be able to speak to the staff.Take the plunge and go try the other 100’s of other yakitori’s in the area, which not only taste better but the price is a lot more reasonable.

Went there a few days ago / amazing service and fantastic food

I went here for dinner on a rainy Monday. Its a small sized restaurant with a friendly staff. They have an English menu. Also, apparently Hillary Clinton ate here in 2002 while she was Secretary of State. Her picture and a letter are on the wall near the register.Food was very good, and came quickly. If you speak Japanese, the staff seems happy to converse with customers. I dont speak Japanese, so Im just taking this from observation.Sake is poured in that overflowing way where the glass is in a box. If you arent familiar, you first drink it by leaning toward and drinking from the glass until you can pick it up easily. When you finish the glass, or the sake in the box into the glass (from the box corner). There will be about a glass and a half of sake.Also, at the end of your meal there its a free desert with mochi that was very tasty.

Location is easy to find and just a few mins walk from the Roppongi station. Inside the small restaurant, you can choose to sit by the counter or at the tables. There are also family tables available if your group size is bigger. Both set meals and ala carte menus are available. If you cant decide what you want to eat, just go with the set meals. There is a wide variety of skewer meats and vegetables to choose from. But the menu is weighted heavily towards chicken meat, they could add in more beef or other meat types I think. Overall, an enjoyable dinner to have with my partner. Most importantly, I think the price is reasonable and affordable for the food and atmosphere.

日本人より外人客の方が多い位の焼き鳥屋。スタッフは英語だ説明するし、英語メニューもある。コースでオーダーする方が良い。店の雰囲気も良い。品の良い外国人を接待するにはちょうど良い。もちろん、日本人が行っても納得できる味。

This was one of the best meals we had while in Tokyo. I would highly recommend coming here with a group of friends. Our server also helped us with the menu. He spoke English really well and we appreciated his help. One of our group members went back on her own the next day for another meal.

The best yakitori Ive eaten. The Meat is nicely drilled. Awesome food! Must try, although its rather pricey.

Ive been to quite a few yakitori places in Japan and I must say, this is one of my favorites! The yakitori is cooked over charcoal (a must and the chef/staff were very friendly! English menu and the staff speaks decent English.

Definitely recommend if you want to try traditional yakitori. Its best you book as its a small place. Otherwise try to arrive early. My favorite was the tsukune and the shiso pork. Will definitely be going back!
