Nanaimo Art Gallery in Nanaimo
Description
Privilege
Employees were very friendly and informative, a lovely experience
I would personally give this one a pass. Small and the current exhibit is not my taste.
MoreThe Bombhead exhibit was up when I visited - interesting collection to view and read about given the European war currently going on.The gallery itself is small, one large room and a smaller closed-door room to view video. But everything is set up very well and entrance is by donation. Its also centrally located in the arts district within a few minutes of the Nanaimo Museum and Vancouver Island Military Museum - I visited all three and made for a fun/educational afternoon.
MoreI went for a workshop. I like the place, small but you can learn about art and many things. Customer service is excellent.
MoreGreat place to visit. Interesting exhibits.
So thankful to the staff and artists who bring the range of culture, curiosity and contemplation to Nanaimo.
MoreHad a very informative talk about the pottery on display. Watched 2 films, made me want to start taking pottery lessons! Most enjoyable experience!
MoreWe visited the Nanaimo Art Gallery, they had their permanent pottery collection available for viewing as well as non permanent displays. There were also some pottery available for purchase by a local group. They had a pottery Librarian available for questions regarding the exhibit. Not a large art gallery but it was enjoyable!
MoreI love this place. Although this is one of the smallest art galleries Ive ever visited, the exhibits are often well put together, mindful, and rich in substance. I think it is precisely because of the gallerys diminutive size that it has such an impact on its visitors. The gift shop often offers artworks made by local artists. Admission is by donation.
MoreGood tour and knowledgeable about the Islands coal mining industry of the late 1800 early 1900s. Well put together exhibit.
MoreHistory other cultures
Amazing to have this space in Nanaimo; thoughtful, relevant, and surprising exhibitions that speak to local concerns in a larger context, definitely worth a visit
MoreThe largest art scam in British Columbia.

Great place to spend a of couple hours... Love the featured art choices.

Lots of local Artists. Interesting. Good to have some culture downtown so its not all crazy, druggy, homeless, street people.
