Very peaceful place full of positive energy. No matter how disturbed your mind was, once you are here you will be relaxed for sure. Full of positive vibes. The respected monk is very approachable and if you want you can share your problems etc, to get really effective suggestions. They also provide medicines for health related problems. The medicinal tea they offer during our visit was helpful enough to get relaxed. The riverside view makes this place even beautiful.Wish to visit this place again.

I went there from Dibrugarh by partially using public transport. From Phulbagan in Dibrugarh, I took a shared Tata Winger to Naharkatia. The journey took 2 hours and the fare is ₹100. From Naharkatia I took an e-auto to Namphake. I paid ₹150 each way. I asked the auto to wait for me in Namphake. You dont get auto-rickshaws in the village.

Dibrugarh is considered as one of the major cities in Assam and is popularly known as the Tea City of India owing to the many tea plantations in the district. Amongst the many tourist attractions of Dibrugarh, one such place of interest near the city is the Namphake village which is located at a distance of about 37 kms away. This village is home for many Tai Phakey families who reside here. The river Burhidihing flows along this village. There is a beautiful Buddhist monastery located in the Namphake Village. This monastery is considered as a meditation centre and has also developed into a very popular tourist spot to be visited in this village. The serene surrounding and natural beauty of the place make it a more unique location. The people living here are the followers of Buddhism and their beliefs and traditions are very strong in this regard. The village has an Ashokan Pillar built nearby and a Buddhist Pagoda. On entering the main temple you will get to see a statue of Lord Buddha made of gold. There is a water tank inside the monastery which is named as the Mucalinda Tank and is considered to be very holy.

A peaceful place to visit situated at the bank of Burhi Dihing river, Naharkatia, Tinsukia. The ambiance, the scenic beauty and silence is calm and only peace loving people should visit the Namphake Buddhist Monastery. Namphake is a village inhabited by Tai phake community. They are Tai speaking people and maintain their own unique culture. You will feel their cultural presence by looking at their elevated Bamboo huts, improvised conceptual huts, houses and ethnic costume. The village is situated in Naharkatia, around 20 km away from Duliajan in Tinsukia. While travelling you will see several tea estate on the roadside. That makes the journey more exciting and satisfactory.

Visit during prayer time for your Inner Peace and The biggest festival celebrated in this village is the Poi-Nen-Chi Festival, which is held in the month of March. This occasion is organized to pay homage to Lord Buddha. Poi-Nun-Hok is another grand festival in which the birth of Lord Buddha is celebrated. You will also get to see many traditional dance forms that are performed by the women living in this village. On your trip to the Namphake Village, you get to know more about the culture and traditions of the communities residing here. The traditional stilt house of this village is another attractive thing to be noticed here. You can also enjoy a family picnic on the banks of the Burhidihing River. The months of October to March are the best time to plan holidays here as you get to see many colorful festivals that are celebrated in this village.Thank You.

So peaceful and so mind refreshing, definitely go to this place. Things you need to know is, theres only one place to have tea or food. If its open, your lucky. If not then make sure you take it with you. A very beautiful picnic spot is also nearby. If you want to go in december and planning to have picnic in riverside, do visit this place, youll get the blessings for your new year and at the same place you can have some fun too. The story behind this place and the local people is more interesting to me .Its like mini Thailand of India . Little did I know in north east india I will find an entire population of people speaking thai . Its feel so exotic and unknown fact .Visiting here roaming around and the people speaking their dialect I didnt feel I am in India .This culture , this community , this place should be well preserved .
