Magnificent place, perfect for hiking in autumn.

Takes about 1.5hr from Seoul city centre. Worth a visit if you like nature, walking trails, and historic places

청량산, It is in the mountain range of 남한산. the mountain is not so high and difficult to hike. but the view is kind of beautiful when you arrive the 산성.

역사, 문화의 현장이며 트레킹, 워킹을 즐기면서 산책을 할 수 있는 좋은 장소이다. 그리고 먹거리촌(식당촌)이 있어서 한국의 여러가지 음식을 맛볼 수 있다.

A nice trail along the fortress. It was an easy enough hike and offers stunning views of Seoul and its environs. You really feel like youre in the middle of the mountains. Many people went there for picnics. It could get crowded to actually go up there, as in the street was quite congested so just keep that in mind. Id suggest getting there early and leaving early.

Always a nice place to visit for grocery shopping and try out new places yo eat!

A nice place to get away from hustle SeoulWe had a nice hiking day there, starting from Machon station. After 30 minutes of hiking, we reached the West gate of the wall. This wall was built in 17th century. However, the original one was built since Silla time. The Namhansanseong is more well preserved compared to Hanyangseong in centre of Seoul. We walked from the west gate to the south gate of the Wall. It now served as the historical places but also a park and hiking spot for everyone. Coming there, you can enjoy fresh air , emerging yourself to nice and cool atmosphere or finding a nice spot under the wood enjoying your lunch and relaxing.

My review covers all of Namhansanseong. Very interesting place for an afternoon walk around the fortress walls. From the north gate you can take a path down to the north into the Gogol valley. Nothing special in the valley but the walk is a pleasant kilometer and at the end you can catch a bus to Hanam.

Namhansangseong is one of the most visited world heritage sites in Korea. During the group tour we had the chance to wear traditional scholar costumes. If you want to join free group tours in world heritage sites, you may visit fbpage of Joyful Heritage Cities in Korea.Luckily the weather was not too hot when we visited on a summer. I recommend you go hiking on four distinct seasons. No entrance fee to hike.

Beautifully preserved mountain fortress in Seongnam. The surrounding is very beautiful and the views are amazing. There are also small cafes and places to eat so definitely worth a day trip with the family.

Various walking trails. Careful during the higher hikes since the ground is a little uneven. Bring water with you since there are a lot of stairs in some sections.

Easy paved trails that didnt seem necessary to wear hard gears. The view of the city from the top is quite spectacular though.

Good hiking from Macheon station at the end of line 5.You will need Google maps to find the trail head since sign posting is non-existant.

One of my favorite places to visit in Korea!

Namhansanseong fortress is a beautiful mountain fortress used in generations past as a second capital during times of emergency. It is completely surrounded by a wall which can be seen from the city in some places. It is, in my opinion the closest thing Korea has to a mountaintop village. There are many cafes and restaurants, mostly housed in more traditional style buildings, along with small farms and even very beautiful examples of Joseon housing with a modern twist. For incredible views of Seoul, a short hike to the West gate is well worth it and not too challenging for most people. There are plenty of hidden gems throughout the park, as well as cultural shows and a visitors center.

Beautiful fortress, walking trails are clearly marked and managable for all.

Sort of ended up coming here by accident during my first trip to Korea, and I can honestly say my life is richer for seeing it. I got to see the whole place covered in snow, looking out over Seoul from the relatives wilderness that was the battlements. Me and my friend actually got stuck up there in the fortress with the buses being blocked by an accident. To our amazement, an old lady gave us and a few others a lift down to the city again. Was a great adventure and Ill never forget how friendly and kind so many of the people were in Korea.
