Busy busy place. Was here more for the Ginseng market and the prices seems to be much cheaper than elsewhere. Nice place to come for a walk and to buy some korean Ginseng for gifts.

A great deal of stuff in this market. Good browsing or shopping. Bags, clothes, including childrens, a lot of food.

Having stayed in Seoul for 2 weeks I’d say Namdaemun Market has to be my favorite. They’re are vendor that sell basically everything from clothing’s to essential’s items but the main reason you want to come here is for the food. From the small vendors selling street food to the small tiny restaurants in the alley with the vendors cooking the food on a outside stove right in the open there are a lot of options. No matter the day this place is always pack with locals and tourists.

There was a lot of food and goodies to shop for. People are friendly. The donuts are nice. Good deal for making glasses.

So many shops to visit & so many places to eat.Its not as cheap as I rembered & even the locals are saying the prices have gone up a lot.One place I have returned 3 times for is this fish cake stick. It is so tender, yet firm & very flavorful.Silver belt fish wasnt as good as I had expected.Ill be back to get the fish cake next time. The owner said I can purchase frozen & itll still be good until I return to the state.This honey string stuffed nuts are to die for!!!I dont do much sweets and/or snacks but this is a must!!!♥♥♥Ive purchased 3 boxes to take back to the state but ended up eating it all while still in Korea. So Ive returned & purchased 12 more boxes to take back, which of 2, I ate...lol.

Its a traditional market with everything. Prices vary unless marked. More stuff inside the buildings. Better exchange rate than the banks.

Nice place to buy souvenirs before you go home to your home country. The prices of the same things can vary wildly between stores though, so make sure to check around. The foods being sold are nice to try out, too.

Local korean market, touristy but fun. Open early suitable for early bird to see and have some local snacks.

A cool street market with alleyways and street food. Its right next to Nandaemun Gate. Can also buy souvenirs here as well. There are so many food options here as well, tucked into small alleyways.

Place must visit to buy gifts. Offer so many options of gifts, even the famous korean ginseng. The price of gifts vary from 500 KRW to (maybemillions KRW. From keychain and fridge magnet to powder and bottled ginseng. This place also provide street food with local taste. I recommend spare at least 2 to 3 hours, since there are so many stores you can visit. Try to negotiate the price with the sellers, you may get best prices from them. They could communicate simple english, so you may bargain to get a better price. Good luck.

One of the busiest markets in Seoul for shopping, this one is good to buy garments, fashion stuff with good price range. A very unique experience with bargain options, good place to shop some korean traditional stuff as well as famous brands and yes the coffee shops are good as well

Fun spot between lots of fancier stores and shops. Not as many stalls as I thought there would b. But still fun place for deals.

Fun to visit for window shopping but some of the places were wholesale sellers so we couldn’t buy the accessories we wanted.There was a variety of trinkets to buy as gifts to give people and some street food along the way so a fun way to spend the afternoon. Make sure to check the time as it closes surprisingly early.

Great walking street shopping with a few food stalls. I would advise coming in the afternoon as well as in the evening. The shops tend to open at various times throughout the day so if you cant find your size then come again later as more pop-up shops may have what you are looking for.

Everything you could possibly need or want to buy visiting or staying in Korea. Lots of non-Koreans so I think its (but dont really knoweasy to buy things. There is at least one location where staff are standing to provide tourist assistance. Dont skip eating at one or more of the food stalls or restaurants.

Good market in the middle of Seoul thats worth checking out. Theres lots to see and and it can be quite confusing as the layout isnt the easiest to follow. There is clothing, jewellery, souvenirs etc and also quite a few food stalls for a quick snack whilst shopping.

Is merely a market, a must do if you want to shop somethingbut if you are sighthseeing only there is nothing to see here. You can find whatever you want and with good prices, it depends on your type of visit, in my case i am 70% sightseeing and 30% shoping, i cam3 here and find a nice bagpack

The place to go if you’re looking for some street food and Korean ginseng. But most shops closed at 5, so it’s best to visit in the morning

Yum yum, plenty for all. Food and stuff to please all sorts. But the Egg Maca Chou was my favourite. Not to be missed.

Organized chaos is the most apt description of this space. It is packed with vendors and with a little searching you can find pretty much anything you are looking for.

Came to hairtail alley to try braised hairtail stew. They alley has dozens of restaurants all selling the same dish. I just picked one where the staff seemed inviting. Delicious stew but beware of small soft bones!

The market of big Interest to the locals, why? .... everything one wants or needs is there! We visited several markets in Seoul, Busan and also on Jeju Island, when it comes to good value for money, the Namdaemun Markets are hands down the most outstanding best. Feeling puckish to snack or looking for a place to have lunch, just look around, its all there, so delicious and for a cost price that is more than just fair.

Its 7:22pm and to see a lot of business closed for the day this early is a bit sad. Food booths remained open (booth and street kiosksbut theres a lot less than pre covid for sure. I hope they can revitalize this area.EDIT:We went back for the weekend and it seemed quite the opposite. Lively. Bustling with business. I brought my oldest sister to celebrate Parents day to NamDaeMoon marketplace. There I also treated her some of grilled fishes at a Korean restaurant in the alley. We really enjoy the table. After filling out stomach we walked along the sweet vendors. We bought some goods and house stuffs. Its location was so easy access from the subway station near...

Some of the shopkeepers do speak in English as well, almost everything is kept with the price board. The jewellery alley is awesome and worth a visit, though the prices are different for whole sale and retail selling but it is worth it.

Its one of the biggest markets of Seoul. You can buy so many things here specially for babies toddlers and kids clothes shoes and accessories, even small toys are also there to grab. The market feels a little dated, but that may be its charm. Huge number of stores lined up alongside roads and alleys. Food options were limited when we visited on Sunday afternoon. Fashion was a little previous generation. Kalguksu and bibimbap were good.

Namdaemun Market is the largest traditional market in Korea with shops selling various goods. All products are sold at affordable prices and the stores in this area also function as wholesale markets. Most of the goods are made directly by the storeowners. Namdaemun Market is even open overnight, from 23:00 to 04:00, and is crowded with retailers from all over the country. When day breaks, the site of busy shoppers bustling around the market creates a unique scene that attracts tourists worldwide. Namdaemun Market sells a variety of clothes, glasses, kitchenware, toys, mountain gear, fishing equipment, stationery, fine arts, accessories, hats, carpets, flowers, ginseng, and imported goods.

Good deals and rip-offs alike are abound. It is organized into sections for shoes, adults, children, toys, etc. Some of the merchandise is low quality so be careful. It is interesting to just walk and do people watching.

Really nice traditional market with some good stuff with variety prices ... well, you need to bargain here because sometimes they put some high prices. Here you can find many clothes, fruits, kitchen ware, accecories, drugs, bags, luggagies,shoes, jewellery and souvenirs too, very lovely and similiar to myeongdong market but in myeongdong many cosmetics shops sale than in namdaemun.

If you are Malaysian, similar to Petaling Street but the quality of goods here are much better, wider choices, more organised, and affordable in KRW. For my many past visit to Seoul, usually always visited the accesories/brooch wholesales at E-Lendeng building (painted in green). Those who loves brooch for headscarf (hijab)/ scarf, you may visit lot number 207. Simply asked them where is lot 207, they will pointed for you. Bare in mind, inside the building they hv hundreds lots or maybe thousands, so very important for u to rmbr the lot number. This round we went up to florist wholesales floor and household. As a big fan of household item, you may get unique things over here or for your house decorations. In terms of prices, the price inside the building is cheaper compare to outside. If you like something inside the building, recommended that you buy it at once, trust me, it is not easy for you to look for the same shop again as the shoplot inside is like a maze and you may get confuse with their layout. If you go early morning like 8am, place not crowded yet so u can walk peacefully. The place will be crowded from 11am onwards.

Such a fun place to go. So many people from locals to tourists. We ate lunch here as well as snacking on street food and shopping. There are so many streets and I think we only hit a few and still walked away with a ton of stuff.It is a really great area. I believe we mostly hung out around gate 4 and had a blast. Definitely come here if you get the chance. And make sure to stop for king dumplings from hyojason. Seriously the best dumplings I’ve ever had.

Where korean food meet hunger tourist. It is also possible to find nice clothes, souvenirs, and many other product, but I think the best thing to do here it’s to try the local food, I really recommend that!

Namdemun market one of the biggest and cheapest market of korea. You can find many wholesale shops opened for variety of items. You can find clothes bags jewellery general items. You can find variety of souvenirs and traditional korean items. But you have to Carry cash with you. Mostly dont accept cards and if some do they take 10% extra. The place have many shops but many closes at 6 at night. On internet its written 24 hours but i dont think its for the whole market. On sunday it closes early to. I went at 10 in night and everything was closed

One of the oldest traditional market in Seoul near Seoul Station. Kinda huge with several alleys so you must allot ample time and money if youre thinking of shopping especially since you can find a lot of things to purchase in this market. More frequented by locals rather than tourists which makes it more interesting. Also, the feel is very different during the day and during the night.

Actually a typical local market that people here to look for bargain. Sometime you may not get a good bargain either as you must know how to bargain. Lots of clothing, shoes, food and food stuff. Nothing special but is enjoyable to walk around and enjoy the atmosphere. One of the stall that selling the hot steam bun is really good.. Long queue and prepare to wait for your food.

Lots of bargains everywhere. Make sure to haggle for even better bargains. There are all kinds of merchandise. Lots of american snacks and goods. Cheaper than other places. Lots of great snack stands. If there is a long line at a food stand fall in it will be worth the wait.

Definitely the place to shop and eat all the local snacks. We came early at 10 am and were able to go the shops with ease, not to mention eating. Getting a map of the place from the information booth is very important as it helps you to navigate the entire Namdaemun. The information booth is located in the middle of the Main Street. Goggle doesn’t have the names of the shop in detail.

This market seems to be a lower market compared to the Myeongdong Market just a block down the road.I thought that there was a bit more food options here and it was cheaper. Walked past a Hotteok stand and had to get one cause it just smelt so nice. There were plenty of shops and stalls lining the road which seemed to be cheaper too. Plenty of entrances around so shouldnt be too difficult to find.Seems more like a local market than a tourist one which is why I thought it was a nice change.

A clean wet market in the day, and an affordable but still exciting night market in the evening. Shop for clothes, bags, foods, souvenirs, and your daily necessities here, and do it like the locals. I enjoyed the hospitality and helpfulness of the shop keepers a lot, as well as the varieties of goods offered. If you go for clothing and bags, you may bargain but do it tactfully.

I know they sells clothes, and have outdoor food stalls, but I went looking for the camera row of shops and got lost. Twice. Take some time and enjoy the sights, because you will get lost and become hungry.
