Flavours of northern India are offered in this spacious and modern restaurant with large windows.
Received food floating in the bag, phoned owner and he indicated that it is the drivers fault. Cheap packaging for expensive food, not cling wrapped. Not the first time either. Owner not prepared to find a solution. Namaskar should not be delivering food
The food was good and the waitresses were friendly.
The decor is beautiful and classy. Amazing Indian aesthetic. The staff are attentive. We were fortunate to have had no other patrons around so maybe we were lucky. The food was delicious, we were extremely satisfied. We are vegetarian for the month so had the Punjabi samoosas and onion & potato pakoras for starters. The mint chutney and accompanying sauce were amazing. The pastry on the samoosa was quite thick and doughy however the batter on the pakoras were light and crisp. We had the Namaskar dum breyani, Dhal Tatka and Paneer Makhni for mains. Both the curries came with basmati rice but we opted to add a butter naan and chilli garlic naan. Everything was spectacular. The Dhal Tarka and breyani paired really well and the Paneer was soft with a rich, creamy gravy. For desserts we had the chai with Kulfi and Shrikandt desserts. Both were creamy but a bit too sweet. Will definitely be a hit if you have a sweet tooth. We will be back for sure.
Superior but not average price. It was dinner for 2.Love it!
My favourite , restaurant !!! Awesome food and owners!!! Great service 👌
Amazing service by the owner. We rang ahead as we are vegetarian and do not eat onion or garlic and the restaurant owner and chefs really went over and above to accommodate. The food tasted great would recommend to anyone coming to Pretoria
Such a lovely experience. Real authentic Indian cuisine with just a perfect blend of spices, nuances and all your taste buds are happy. Will go back every time...
Quantity of the food is less. Also they have a system where they charge 10% of the bill as mandatory payment towards gratuity..all the dishes are very expensive. The taste of the food is just par.
Excellent food .Great service.Highly recommended
The food was yummy and the portions are generous. Took home left overs and it took me two meals to finish my leftovers
I cant believe I only had dinner at this place for the first time this year. It is most definitely the best Indian food in Pretoria. I loved it and will be back.
This is my top Indian Restaurant in Gauteng.Great food, great service, and vegetarian friendly.Recommend for any type of gathering. 😊
Always friendly and food is served fast and tasty, very consistent for as long as I’ve know them. Can’t go wrong, totally recommended!
Food was average and the portion sizes were small for the price we paid for. Would highly recommend Kung Fu Kitchen over this place.
I love me some good Indian food. Ive been wanting to visit this establishment but decided to give it a trial with Ubereats. The flavour was great, but it cost me R200 for a small portion without any sambles or salad. 1 potato and hardly any meat.
Ordered the chicken Tikka - very disappointing and not worth the price at all. Do not recommend.Youd rather get takeout at McDonalds or something because wow.R180 for a small plastic container.
Food is very good!! I am satisfied with the restaurant and would recommend it to anyone who likes spicy food!!
If you’re in the mood for EXCEPTIONAL Indian cuisine then this is definitely the spot for you! The peshwari naan is a must have! The service was great with very friendly staff.
Excellent food and service, as always. Highly recommend!
The waitress was polite, vegetarian meal was okay, overpriced though, when compared to other Indian Restaurants.Overall, average experience.
We have been visiting Namaskar now for about 12 years. A definite 10 out of 10 on every count. Still the best Indian cuisine in Pretoria, hands down. A very big thank you to Prakash-Shobna and team for their great service. Well done guys. A pleasure dining with you. Keep up the good work.RegardsBen and family
Me and my wife love curry, we visited Namaskar for the 1st time last night for dinner. The curry was delicious. What a lovely place, everybody was friendly. We can definitely recommend this place for anybody that likes spicy food.Thank you!
Amazing food, super tasty. Price might be a little high but the quality and freshness of the food are well worth it. The restaurant is so peaceful and calming as well. Everything is clean and tidy. Expect to pay around R250 for a meal. This is a must try restaurant.
Extremely good indian food. Very well trained and friendly staff. Truly enjoyed dinner.
To start you come here for quality over quantity. That being said the food is great! The atmosphere really settles you in and gets you relaxed. Staff are friendly and the food has a great depth of flavor! Would definitely recommend!
The food was good and tasty.. Good service by the waitress... But about the temperature inside... It was too hot like a furnace... So couldnt enjoy the food as it was not pleasant inside... The owner lady kept on telling that the aircon is on and she kept on arguing that the heat is because of the outside weather... and because of that the glass doors get hot.. She is teaching science instead of taking care of the customer comfort... Its doubtful if the aircon was really On and its suspicious that the lady was really talking truth.. My advise to that stubborn owner would be to install a better aircon that has higher capacity and to take advise... for the same... from big stores like game and spar who still have their aircon working much better in a bigger surface area... And better learn about aircons than giving lectures to customers...
Food was delicious and service good. But it was extremely hot in there and the aircon was not working properly. Wouldve been better if it was a cooler environment. Before sitting ask them for a place which has good ventilation.
Beautiful decor. There is a section for small parties. The bar area is well stocked with a huge selection of alcohol and there is a separate wine room. The food was REALLY delicious. Everything that the adults ordered was lovely. Sadly there is no childrens menu with limited options for children. On advice from the waitress, I ordered the butter chicken for my son, I mentioned to the waitress that it is for the child and it must be super mild- with no chilly at all. Sadly, the meal was too spicy and my son ate the plain rice. Dhall, salad and pickle are not included with the breyani. The restaurant is on the second floor but is wheelchair friendly with access via stairs or elevator. The food is extremely pricey but all the adults enjoyed our meals. Due to the prices, I feel like this restaurant is more for special occasions rather than regular meals.
Having ordered online previously and then going to the restaurant, I thought the experience would be different. However, the food is average for the price and portions are smaller compared to other Indian restaurants. The service was satisfactory. The hosts appeared indifferent and focused primarily on the guests at the one other occupied table.*Reply on owners response*1. If you read carefully, I have ordered online with Mr Delivery before, hence my indication about the portion size.2. I was not checking prices when looking at the menu but meal options.3. I expected management to approach us at the table to check on us, which is common courtesy.4. I was not expecting a "freebie" as you suggested.5. Your response is very unprofessional and defensive and I suggest you seek hospitality customer service training.
Absolutely love this place. The food is always excellent. Service is great. Will go back again and again
The food is delicious and the service is wonderful. Weve been before and we will go back many times still!
The Worst rude and racist owner, Good food, good waitresses, esp. Roba. This is one the few surviving indian restaurants in Pretoria & so it was a disappointed to be greeted by such as an owner ( in these hard times of Covidwho is as dark as a coal!Be warned non-white tourists!!!
Absolutely phenomenal food and a glorious ambiance. Thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience! Five stars!
So we bought butter chicken from you on Mr D. This what we got for R175!!!! This is a ripoff!!!!! 1st time and surely the last time I order from you. Don’t order from them
The owners and the staff make you feel at home. The food is delicious and the service is excellent. Went there for my birthday and I enjoyed it. Their mild curry is truly mild and can even be enjoyed by people who dont like chilly or spicy curry.
10/10! Beautiful restaurant, the friendliest staff and the food was out of this world! We cant wait to go again and work our way through the whole menu. Highly recommended.
Good Indian food, lots of varieties, the naan is a killer, very good service.
Knowledgeable staff, good service, great food. Would definitely recommend, but lamb korma had too much sauce and too creamy, not enough cashew flavor. Starters and veg dishes were delicious.
An absolutely AWESOME restaurant with an absolutely BEAUTIFUL and HEARTFELT owner. A menu that is hard to choose from (everything seems delicious). All our dishes were better than our expectations. Can’t wait to come again.
The best place in Pretoria, I would even say Gauteng for your Indian food experience. Their atmosphere, decor and ambience are truly amazing. They have such a diverse menu of Indian food that it is really difficult to make a choice. Their food was excellent 😋 Everything was delicious and to taste. I can see why they are highly rated on TripAdvisor and Top500 restaurant guide. Loved it and will be back when I am in Pretoria again.
Love this restaurant. Service is always excellent and the food is the best.
The service is excellent, the food is absolutely amazing. I arrived at at around 10:45 just before they opened and they serviced me. Certainly worth the long drive, the food was still very warm when I got home. The curry is so delicious that you don’t even need the meat. Amazing food, beautiful restaurant, fantastic service.
They cater for vegetarians and is very thoughtful with regards to strict diets. The owner is very friendly and down to earth!Their food is great, environment is clean and tidy.
A great spot in Pretoria to bring your vegan friends for any occasion. The menu offers several pages full of delicious food options with various types of cuisine, making it hard to choose just one dish to enjoy. Namaskar restaurant boasts a rich Indian-themed decor in a spacious dining room aimed at adult diners. The mood is always relaxed and the service attentive. Try the Kashmiri naan and creamy mushroom soup for a simple treat.
This lovely restaurant offers great food with an extensive variety of options available, derived from the cuisine of Northern India. This is a very friendly and welcoming family run restaurant, offering a warm and friendly service. The restaurant is spacious and well decorated. There is a well stocked bar with an extensive selection of alcoholic beverages available, including many top quality options. Enjoy!!
The food at Namaskar was very good, and the service was excellent. The layout of the restaurant is good, and there is ample seating. The atmosphere is warm and relaxed. The owners are present and show genuine interest and their restauran. The menu is very expansive, and there should be something for most tastes on the menu.
An enormous menu with a excellent variety of items, including plenty of vegan and vegetarian options.Friendly and welcoming staff. We had dinner with friends. The food was perfectly cooked and tasty."Baingan Aloo Dhingri Mattar" was exellent!Definitely recommended!
Very nice food, one of my favourite Indian places
The food is absolutely amazing. I have eaten there a few times and have never had Indian food that comes close to the quality, authenticity and consistency that they make at Namaskar.I had the Lamb chops once and couldn’t believe how good they were. I challenge anyone to find better.Tip: ask the owners what they recommend for you. Just tell them what you feel like and what you generally enjoy and I promise you that you will not be disappointed.
Loved the food, awesome ambiance and beautiful decor. The service and waitresses were fantastic too. Knocking off a star because the smoking section is in the bar. Would be nice to have a more cosy spot for smokers. But all round the best Indian restaurant in Pretoria.
