One of the historic event place. Can feel the worst ever attach on humans. Unarmed civilian, man women and children were born alive, so called champions of human rights did this. So sad

The Museum is well organised, showing a lot of photos, videos and animations about the impact of the atomic bomb, its repercussions on the land, people and long term effects. It even has a section where you can listen to the first hand experiences of people who were in Nagasaki when the bomb dropped.

One of the most incredibly moving experiences in life is the opportunity to visit this museum and view the horrors of atomic warfare. A very well done set of exhibits that invoke a strong emotional and intellectual reaction.

The museum needs to direct the blame for the bombings at the people who deserve it most--Hirohito, Tojo, Konoe, and so on. Walking through the museum, it seems like Japan was a passive actor in the war, but that was not the case. Japanese leadership had years to surrender during an unwinnable war (that they also started), and they didnt. Personally, I think that the bombs shouldnt have been dropped, but also that this museum doesnt do a good job of showing why they were dropped.

Let the visitors understand that after the atomic bomb exploded at that time, it caused a lot of damage. It can only be said that without war, human life can be preserved.

It’s a great tribute to the victims of the bomb. The poems by survivors were very heartbreaking.I wouldn’t recommend bringing small children as some of it may be quite upsetting, especially if they are too young to understand. Plus there are a lot of images of dead bodies.

Respectful and factual representation of one of the more horrific and devastating moments in not too distant history. Artifacts, photos, replicas, and placards detail the beets behold and after the bombing. 200 yen admission/donation for adults.

Despite being very sad, this museum was the highlight of my trip to Nagasaki. It was informative and less propaganda-heavy than the museum in Hiroshima. Reading the testimonies was heartbreaking. A must in Nagasaki to understand about the history of the bombing. 200 yen adult ticket, paid parking on site

Not nearly as memorable or moving as the atomic bomb museum in Hiroshima (i.e. nothing like Sadakos cranes or Shins tricycle to be found at the Nagasaki memorial), but in terms of cities, Nagasaki is easily the more aesthetically pleasing of the two and imo, one of the hidden gems of Japan.

Truly eye opening and thought provoking .. the imagery is strong and suggestive, if you are too sensitive and death and destruction js a trigger .. then this would really break you emotionally... It gives you some experience of what it was like when the Fat Boy burst 500m above hypocenter... It really makes me feel privileged to be alive today...

Hiroshima and Nagasaki are the only 2 cities that got nuked and this reminds us of history and what happened in these cities. There are a lot of testimonies of some survivors. Though this museum is not as huge as the Hiroshima one , it is still an important part of history and I recommend it to everyone visiting Nagasaki.

Great museum that walks you through the events that unfolded on August 9,1945. The exhibits start before the bomb dropped at 11:02, then proceeds to take you through the damage caused by the bomb followed by testimonials and a history of atomic bomb creation and victims of all nuclear accidents. It only costs ¥200 for adults and takes about two and half hours to go through the whole museum. I highly recommend visiting the museum and the surrounding hypocenter, peace park and statue.

Excellent tribute to those that died and the history of atomic weapons.Always good to see other perspectives. The Nagasaki Atomic Bomb Museum is in the city of Nagasaki, Japan. The museum is a remembrance to the atomic bombing of Nagasaki by the United States of America 9 August 1945 at 11:02:35 am. Next to the museum is the Nagasaki National Peace Memorial Hall for the Atomic Bomb Victims, built in 2003, which marks the hypocenter of the event. The bombing marked a new era in war, making Nagasaki a symbolic location for a memorial. The counterpart in Hiroshima is the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum.

It is very hard to imagine how a city like Nagasaki could have survived into a thriving city of today. A great testament to the people of this nation. This museum will tell you everything that happened on that sad day. You will view items that are on display that tells its own unique story. It’s very important to visit here as it’s a message of peace and never again.

My mother, uncle and I visited here several years ago. They both survived the bomb by taking refuge in a cave about 1 kilometer from ground zero. The museum really helped me to better understand some of what they must have experienced.

A small musuem but contains very informative displays of the Nagasaki Atomic Bomb history plus the severe impacts and sufferings caused in Nagasaki and the civillians after the bombing. Besides showing the exhibits of the Nagasaki Atomic Bomb, there are also informations about some countries on the wars and the nuclear bombs. Admission is 200 yen per adult.

බලන්න වටින තැනක්.Nagasaki Atomic Bomb MuseumAt 11:02 a.m. on August 9, 1945, the explosion of an atomic bomb devastated Nagasaki. The ferocious heat and blast indiscriminately slaughtered its inhabitants. Even the people who managed to survive continue to this day to suffer from late effects.Five decades have passed since that day. Now the atomic bomb survivors are advancing into old age and their memories are fading into the mist of history. The question of how to inform young people about the horror of war, the threat of nuclear weapons and the importance of the peace is therefore a matter of passing concern. The citizens of Nagasaki pray that this miserable experience will never be repeated on Earth. We also consider it our duty to ensure that the experience is not forgotten but passed on intact to future generations. It is imperative that we join hands with all peace-loving people around the world and strive together for the realization of lasting world peace.Location: 7-8 Hirano-machi, Nagasaki CitySite Area: 15,391.53m2Floor Area: 7,949.73m2

Fantastic place with millions of handmade cranes, handmade art for peace, beautiful statues, wonderful videos of survivors from japan and other countries, and a gift store with some cute chains for your phone or bag and books. Must go 😁Like the memorial right next to it this place was mainly about discovering the bombings through the testimonies of the people who have been though this.HeartbreakingThe museum also features all the historical context (why it came to this extreme development), technical explanations of the bombs and its effect (shock wave, extreme heat ray and many panels about radiation), the state of nuclear arsenal in the world today and all the measures taken by the word against it (or not, depending on the countries ...)

It is a pretty haunting museum. There are real exhibits with real human bones and remains. There are also grisly pictures and displays throughout the museum so if you are squeamish about these kind of things, do give this a miss.If you are curious about the danger of using nuclear weapons, the fallout after the detonation, the after effects of the bomb, the development of the atomic bomb and the work being done by the leaders all over the world to stop the advancement of nuclear weapons, then this is a nice museum to visit. At the time of this review, the entrance only cost 200yen per adult.

Read the opening remarks from the huge frame, "Nagasaki must be the last place exposed by an atomic bomb" and how true it is!!! How sobering and how sad to see the holocaust and aftermath of the atomic bomb. I spent many hours inside the museum, reading the very informative events and watching the very illustrative visuals. An excellent museum that evokes emotion!!

Great place to visit. Can get the totally clear idea about the situation before and after the blast in Nagasaki. Lots of thing to see. Must visit this place and also place to think about life, why people can be so cruel to each other? Wish those who lost their lives in wars rest in peace forever.

Was heart felt seeing and reading about war; actually made me cry. After peace medals given to USA from Japan, then being attacked at Pearl Harbor by Japan...USA retaliates. Just like the song, WAR...what is it good for, absolutely NOTHING. We only have ONE earth folks, take a look, up, see any inhabitable planets? I dont and our earth, sun and moon are in a system, take one out...they all go! Humans are supposed to be superior? Destruction is not being a "superior" specie, when it destroys the very life source which is relied on for all life.

Interesting museum with many artefacts and pictures from the period. Good place to come to to learn about world war 2. There are video rooms to and interactive displays. Visit the peace park nearby too so make sure you cater enough time. If you come in March and April the park has some Sakura trees nearby.

A special museum to let people know what happened when the atomic bomb dropped to Nagasaki in August 1945. You can learn what damages had been caused to the city and its people in the museum. I felt sad for what those people had suffered from the bomb but we also shouldnt forget who started the Pacific War in Asia. Everyone should make peace, not war.

I went to the Hiroshima one in January 2018 and thought I should come here too, and so I came in peace on November 24, 2018. The smaller scale in the context of mass destruction lightened my heavy heart a bit. I spent long hours here as a human being, bought a PEACE T-shirt and felt very lucky that I could enjoy a shrimp rice set, lemon squash and ice cream sundae at the Cafe here!

Wonderful exhibits. What really struck me was the first area where they constructed the theme of the ruins all around you with creepy music to add to the mood. All the exhibits are amazing and some of them you can actually touch. Ive been to both the Hiroshima and this Nagasaki one within 24 hours and I like them both in their own distinct ways. There is a roof garden as well and more memorials. For only ¥200 it is worth the historical significance and experience.

Compared to Hiroshima, a smaller museum. The entrance fee is only ¥200! Definitely worth the time for some history. Depending on your own pace, you can go through the whole museum as quickly as one hour, or one day. There’s for sure the shock element, and graphic images. Lots of food for thought, and I think one of the must-visit places in ones lifetime.

The museum is near the Peace Park and the site of the explosion. The entrance to the museum is on a hill accessible by a couple flights of stair or the elevator on the side of the hill. There is an admission charge to the museum. The museum is a two level building. There are pictures, exhibits and plaques of period time before and after the Atomic Bomb exploded.

I fully agree. Despite Nagasaki is less beautiful than Hiroshima, the museum has a great sense because of less people (very few indeed). Thus you can really feel all the feeling, the sadness and the importance of that place. I strongly suggest to visit it to understand what happened there trying to understand how this has completely change the world.

The museum is incredibly informative and educational. Pictures show all the devastation that made by an Atomic bomb dropped on Nagasaki. Nuclear fission was created by the explosives imploding on the core of ‘plutonium’.Facts of this atomic bomb: Length 3.25m, Diameter 1.52m, Wright 4.5tons. Explosive force: Equal to 21-ktons of TNT. Nick name: Fat Man.According to the information, it was targeted at Kokura- an industrial area on the northern coast of Kyushu initially, but due to clouds and poor visibility, the US Bomber B29 that loaded with ‘Fat Man’ then changed its course to the next target- Nagasaki, when they sighted Mitsubishi Nagasaki Arm factory.Plutonium: the chemical element that used as a fuel in the nuclear reactors and as an explosive in nuclear fission weapons.

I will say they did an excellent job making it informative before and after the bomb, you could see how much the city was flatten and how the fallout caused much damage in the coming years. There was much debate if the drop was necessary as it mentioned Japan was ready to surrender but probably it was at a bad time and place since Russia also declared war about the same time. What I liked about was after the war, there were records of how many times tests were conducted, how human error caused 2 bombs to drop at the same time... Seriously? And how these test sites caused nearby people to evacuate and never to return home and some were not told about the radiation and eventually died. Peace Park is nearby though there is a bit of walk involved. Overall good experience but emotions were ruined as during my stay there, batches upon batches of tourist came and go, squeezing and talking loudly. But I guess they are also paying customers after all :/ limited pictures Ill show but best for you to visit.

A very sobering experience for any human. Museum has great records of the pain and suffering of war, especially when ten of thousands die in a flash of heat at 11.02am that fateful day. There is no such thing as who was right or wrong in WW2 because the only winner is death itself. All the superpower nation leaders of should visit this place to witness the horrors of the Fat Man( The A-bomb that flattened Nagasaki), and realise that nukes should never be used again ever.

“A must for everyone to see”This museum conjures up sobering thoughts and gives a very real insight to that dreadful day, everyone should pay a visit as not only to pay homage to those that perished but also see the outcome and hopefully well never see it again. Dont forget to walk down to the hypocentre.
