Rangapahar, Nagaland 797112, India, Dimāpur
Animals ranging from birds to bears, along with an aquarium, eco-museum & lots of greenery.
Good 👍
There has been a drastic change since my last visit. The maintenance team has been doing a good job but the only drawback is the public littering all around the park. This is a request to anyone visiting the park to carry your own trash and kindly use trash bin.Overall, the experience has been better. The nature trail has been the best so far. Kudos to the team
Nothing to see. But Youll enjoy the walk through the nature park
In Dimapur, what I was liked most its zoological park.Must visit place and worth it
Its a pretty good place to visit once for sure
Was great but the auto tuk-tuk vehicle charge us 800 rupees as if we are a tourist. Nagaland goverment has to take a better the auto vehicle charge us 800 rupees for just 6.5 kilometre travelling at this point i wanna make myself clear never travel by auto it sucks please come to Manipur the auto will charge you 30 rupees for 5 kilometre no one is honest in nagaland especially the outsiders Bihari and northern indians
No proper care for animals.Improvement required for infrastructure. Many cages were empty ,Saw very less animals only. And dont visit in summer
They should more animals, other than that it is a good place for family times and picnics.
Most beautiful place and it was my best day
It is at the outskirts of town and not too many animals available here. But nice place to visit,
The entry fee was cheap and it should be cause there is literally only 15 or 16 species inside and you cant even see some of them. The place is filled with plastics and the animals there all look like they havent been fed for days.Try to keep pairs of every animals.
It was such an amazing and inspiring. With different types of wildlife and animals please be preserve more for the purposes. See you again
- Food counter mentioned are closed- I havent found drinking water facilities. Not even shop just outside main gate didnt have water bottle. One family was starving to drink water.- Require more signboard inside. There is one full colourful, new, full wide size rout map nearby ticket counter, but during inside visit I missed road accordingly. The top left road, get me somewhere deep inside, and lost way. There should proper sign board, arrow marks or instruction.
Good but need management for infrastructure and cleanlinessPeople never really care about animals instead focusing more on dating and exploits the resources..
Wish there where more animals 😌😌
Worth taking the long walk to see the smile and excitement in children. A good place to take kids out to see and learn about wildlife. Not a wide range of animals to see but still there are varied wild animals and birds. Not the best zoo but it’s great!
We need some mega star animals so that the public are excited to visit our state zoo. At present, its just the tiger ( special appearances only and the python ( Glass cage please that gives the chills. Not an expert on animals and the climatic habitat but an addition like crocodile/hippo / rhyno would be a awe for the visitors.
Had fun along with Kids, not much Animals but its ok....😀
Its a worthy experience. I will advise everyone to visit it once.
Few years ago animals were healthy but nowadays animals are very weak. The zoo management should take proper care of animals as I have seen some of the animals were malnourished. Apart from this it is a great place to visit with friends and family.
Good place to hang out for kids. Not much animals but there is a nice nature trail which everyone should take when visiting the Zoological park.
Zoo is located in Rangapahar, Dimapur. Hornbill is found in the Zoo with other animals and birds / reptiles. Hornbill is the State BIRD of Nagaland and Hornbill Festival, a unique ethinic Tribal Community Festival, is celebrated in 1st week of December with huge participants including foreign visitors.
Well, it was a sudden visit, but overall, good time. The place is well maintained and clean, the animals all look healthy and taken care of, the paths are also decent and ther are dustbins around- which is a big plus. Ive heard of animals escaping but no matter, If youre around, check it out. See what animals Naga nature has to offer. ;)
If you want to enjoy a refreshing environment and wildlife Just visit the place , it wont disappoint your expectation of experience nature
A very good place for education of children who watches animals in cartoon form either in TV or mobile or else in animal planet. So bring your children teach them with real animals.
Saw many animals I havent seen in Reality.
The park is fairly large and has a lot of potential. However, it is clearly not well managed and looks in bad shape. One just hopes that the animals basic needs are being met. Staff are practically absent. Visitors are on their own. Canteen/restaurant was closed and didnt look functional. Visitors are not monitored, they appear to be feeding animals and throwing waste all over the park. Rather unacceptable since most zoos have very strictly implemented animal feeding restrictions. Also there is a small selection of animals. Not all cages are labeleed properly.Overall, rather disappointing, but will be good for children and families for a day out, as long as one brings along their own food and water.
I had a great time with my 2 years and 11 months son enjoying and watching the animals. My son was so excited and happy to see the animals, birds and monkeys etc.
Most relaxing place that you can experience here
It recently opened due to pandemic. Its literally same as back then. Not much changes, no cafe in the interior and no tigers btw. It was a fun experience. Really good
Though not much animals is found here, It is a good place to experience Hornbill bird. Each Hornbill Bird has its own name and when called, they approach. I have never experience it before elsewhere besides on this vary park. The only sad part is that they dont allow vehicles or any automobile to enter. It is tiresome to walk around a big park especially during hot weather.
Quite well maintained , impressive!!But!! There are some false sign-board indication deep inside, and the toilet is just too horrible (I mean its smell)Canteen attached, quiet a lot of resting sheds.
Good place to relax with family. You can organise a picnic here too. Besides the zoo trip you can enjoy a natural retreat here as the place is a beautiful getaway from the hustle of the city. It is a perfect place for schools to bring their students for self awareness about the different types of animals available in the zoo. The recent addition of Natures Trail has swept my mind away. The department has introduced an innovative way to spend some time with nature. The trail leads you to a beautiful place, perfectly peaceful and breathtaking. The bamboo bridge over the trail gives you a local experience. I have visited Natures Trail for three times now. I have introduced it to new people and everyone has loved this experience. If you visit the zoo dont forget to visit the Natures Trail. And please dont litter the place as you go to explore there. Save the place from litter. Be responsible.
very clean and quiet place to hang out with wild animals....
Nice place biggest zoological Park of Nagaland. Its really beautiful amazing to c different types of animals try to visit.
Good place but I dont see most of the wild animals which I most wanted to see real life. Like:- Lion, Yak, Rhino, Mithun, Tragopan, and even which I never knew.
Good place to see live wild animals which many of us can see only on TV. Although it need lot more to be upgrade..(new cafe, polo car, more wild animals)
These animal are there inNagaland zoological parck tigar, Beer are also there looking so nice to fress our mind we shuld go such tipe of place thanks
The zoological park is almost like a forest area, trees have been preserved. There is a herbal garden as well. Animals are a bit less, but they have a tiger, hornbills, leopard and others. The zoo is about 10-11kms from Dimapur.
This is one of the best zoos in INDIA. Spread over 160+ hectares, this zoo has one of the widest and most diverse variety of Flora and fauna in the area. There are also animals like Sloth Bear and the Great Bengal Tiger on display here. The fee to this place is just 20 bucks and is open till 4 in the evening which is the normal timings for any North Eastern establishment.Would also recommend this place for the 20-km nature trail.
Though a good place for small outing in Dimapur, lacks vibrancy due to many of the animals enclosure being empty. Animals birds also not in vibrancy of their health. But good pass time in far flung place like Dimapur
Perhaps the best view of a tiger Ive got at a zoo in India...and that too in a more natural setup...also the tiger was healthier than most Ive seen....the Gibbon is a total show stealer ...the hornbills are an incredible sight too....the bear family is super cute...and theres a lot more of animals n birds.... absolutely must visit!
Nagaland zoological park is in rangapahar, Dimapur. It is established in a secluded place. Many visitors school students and other people visits here. Varieties of species are keep here. But some species are still yet to bring and preserve...
Animals and Birds.... Are beautiful things...like men.. We need to preserved it ....because they are wonderfull and beautiful things which God has created..
Best time to visit in the evening hour during summer....you will feel the cool breeze 😉
It is place where u will see every animals, birds and snakes crawling and hanging around you...its a safe place with outstanding environment to explore...every stages of life can come and enjoy the views of wildlife
It is so good and all animals are not available because when you go for a lion or tiger than this animal are not available .when I was go this animal are not available .I think they brought this animals and you should visit this place osm place this isBut the road are not good and every thing is perfect .in this zoo all things are beautiful but if you want some dry food or Pepsi than it is not available others things are available like toffee and other drinks so I think you dont take them make sure you take all thing from your home .You must visit this place if u live in Nagaland ..Happy journeyThankyou
Good place to hang out especially during holidays...The lots of fauna around the vicinity will entertained you once you are inside the park...
This is the only zoo in nagaland. The place is very peaceful and calm and the entry fee is also very cheap. There are not many animals at present but its a good place to visit.
Amazing place although small and new. This is a medium sized zoological park that offers a great combination of pure unadulterated nature with a balanced mix of local flora ,fauna.Bears, clouded leopard, owl, horn bill , macaquque, gibbon, Asian civet, wild dogs, jackals, chital, goat deer are some of the attractions.Though not part of the planned programme , It has a great corridor for butterfly lovers as well....all natural. In addition to fauna in enclosures there are wild animals in the undergrowth and dense foliage ( Pythons , barking deer and Horn bill)The local biologist and researcher Thirumalai is a fantastic person if you get an opportunity to meet. There are more additions planned such as tigers and wolvesA must visit if you are in Dimapur ...a shirt distance of 20mins drive
