Visited this beautiful place last year december 5 2021, breathtaking experience.would recommend everyone to visit this place atleast once in their lifetime.
Naga Heritage Village also known as Kisama Heritage Village is only one in Nagaland. The place is wrapped in breathtaking scenic views at the foothills of the lustrous and evergreen hills on the borderline of this village. It is surrounded by all types of flora. Naga Heritage village is rich in its tradition and cultural activities. Being one of the prime tourist attractions, the village sees hundreds of tourists round the year. Visiting this place is an experience of one of its kind and probably different from any part of the country. Its rich heritage speaks volumes about its cultures and customs. On visiting, you will see the unique thatched roofs on the traditionally built houses, its wooden walls and delicately and neatly done carvings of different designs – all of it has an age old rural essence. You will feel living just simply in a different era in your lifetime.

A must visit place during the Hornbill Festivals.
Visiting Hornbill Festival was in my bucket list & upon visiting it in December 2021 I realised what a GRAND & SPECTACULAR event it is. Held annually at Kisama, a short distance from Kohima in Nagaland, this is a treat to all senses! A conglomeration of Nagalands ethnic tribes showcasing their culture, art, dance, costumes, food etc. A visit to this festival will truly be worth it in realising the true essence of Unity in diversity of India! To Note: Do make hotel room/accommodation bookings well in advance if you plan to visit during the festival.
Excellent place to see the Heritage of Nagaland. Traditional houses of various tribes are made here to see their lifestyles. Also there is a world war 2 museum.Must visit during the hornbill festival every years from 1st to 10th December. Can see see all the tribes and their festivals and taste their food.
Poorly maintained for visitors who visit outside hornbill festival. The place is very well located and has a good feeling.
A great idea to co-locate the entire culture of Nagaland at One place.Nagaland is known for its diversity of tribes, their culture, habitat, dressing sense, language and social practices. One would have to travel far and wide to experience the hole of Nagaland the Heritage village has been created for the very purpose of bringing the entire Nagaland at one place. So it is a mini Nagaland, in a way.Every year in the first week of September Hornbill festival is held in Heritage Village where all the tribes put up a display of their traditional attire, cuisine in the sense of their native habitat. And rest of the days that will it remains abandoned but one can get a sense of their villages because the structure remain open with morungs (dormitories for the youngsters, which is also used as signal centres for giving warning signals in earlier dayson display.
A great time to visit these days, not rush & free to party.
Its good and the Naga traditional dresses cultures food all will be available. I visited Naga heritage village at the time of hornbill festival it is in the month of December. I enjoyed a lot there. This place reflects the whole of Nagaland. The Hornbill festival is held here from Dec 01 to Dec 10 every year and is the place to be to celebrate the festival of festivals. There are numerous indigenous groups that participate each year in the festival. Surrounded by hills and a great view, it has a green surrounding with lots of traditional buildings that showcases or reflects the social life of the Nagas.
Have an once in a lifetime experience to visit the Hornbill festival which is conducted on Dec 1-10 every year..Place is around 10kms from Kohima easily accessible by road and have good camping and homestay options within d venue..There r a good number of stalls displaying the cultural heritage of Nagaland with plenty of memorabilia..Not to say, try their exotic food which will be available only here.. dont miss their rice beer..Since its conducted in Dec every yr, temperature will go as low as 2 deg at night. So be prepared for that chill weather..Four laning of Dimapur - Kohima road is on d way and roads r really very bad.. will take 4 hrs to cover that stretch of 80 kms..
Excellent place for the famous Hornbill Festival.
Very well design and built tribal village to understand the livelihoods and cuisines of multiple ethnic tribes. Hornbill festival 2018 looked very much staged and unreal.
Great initiative by government towards promoting & Developing Nagaland tourism. Amazing exhibition of diversified Culture & tradition of all Nagaland Tribes. This is the same place where annual Hornbill fest is held.

In other words it is known as the king of festivals. As Nagaland is dependent completely on agriculture, this festival is very important and considered sacred among the tribes and communities.
It couldve been much better if there is a better maintenance whole year round and not only during the festival. If not, its a great place to visit and check the mornings of each tribe. The 2nd World War Museum is must visit if you happen to be here where there are pictures and artifacts displayed and explained in detail.
